I didn't get to see what it looked like before, but the end result is a spacious, bright and airy salon that invites you to kick back, relax and get your pamper on. I came before leaving for a tropical vacation to get a fun green mani-pedi, and was able to walk in for an appointment and be accommodated immediately. I forget the names of my nail technicians (sorry!) but both of them were very thorough and did a great job with my hard gel manicure and gel pedicure, respectively. Special shout out to their large comfy massage chairs, which gave me a much needed full back massage, to complete the whole spa experience. Two weeks out from my manicure, I continue to get compliments on my nails, a testament to their work. Please note they take credit card, but try to bring cash for tip, some of the technicians take Zelle as well!

A year ago I decided to give acrylics a try for some back to back international travel I was preparing for and wanted to have nails that looked great the whole time. It was the first time I have had fake nails since the mid-90s and I was obsessed (see some of the photos below). I always saw Holly and she made them look beautiful every time. Today I decided to take a little break from the acrylics and was shocked at how strong, long and actually healthy my own nails are, a true testament to the care Holly placed on my nails every time I came in for a fill. I actually can't wait to have acrylics again, and plan to go back to Holly. Especially, now, after seeing that my own nails are in such great shape. Also, as a side note, I never ever lost or broke an acrylic over the last year, and I am VERY hard on my hands (gardening, yard work, travel, kids etc). Lastly, this salon is so wonderful. The vibe, the ownership and the staff make it such a nice place to spend a couple hours.

What I appreciate most is how transparent they are about pricing they always make sure you know if there are any extra charges before starting a service. Today, though, I witnessed something that really stood out and I was actually sitting right next to the customer the entire time. A girl came in and started complaining about the cost after her nails had already been started. From the beginning, her tone felt rude and dismissive. When the manager came over to help, she tried to calmly explain the pricing, but the customer kept interrupting and responding with a passive-aggressive attitude. At one point, she even told the manager to lower her voice in a disrespectful way, despite the manager remaining professional the entire time. To make things more uncomfortable, her boyfriend started adding his opinion, even though he had nothing to do with the service. Instead of helping de-escalate the situation, he made it worse by defending his girlfriend, even though she was clearly in the wrong. It would have been more appropriate to let the customer and the person in charge handle the situation directly. Another manager stepped in and patiently pulled up her past transactions to clearly show what had been charged before. They explained that sometimes removal fees are waived, but it's never guaranteed and they always communicate that upfront, which is something I've personally experienced and appreciated. Even after being shown proof, the customer continued to be upset and dismissive, saying things like, "Whatever, just finish my nails. I'll pay, but I'm never coming back." After all that I understand why staff didn't want to service her anymore. She left the place with nails on and she still didn't pay. The staff handled everything with patience and professionalism, even when faced with unnecessary rudeness.

This is my first time experimenting with cat-eye, and I am impressed with how nice they make my old hands look. I do dip powder, because it's healthier for the nail, and it's strong enough to last a whole month-in spite of all the gardening and other things I put it through. Their prices make it affordable for me to maintain this habit. But the atmosphere is so casual, relaxed, and humble. All the technicians there are great, but I have been consistently happy with the shape Sophia does on my nails. They have surprisingly good nail products too! Like, they have OPI dip-powder, which I have always used because of its long-lasting capability. If it's time for you to get your nails done, this place I highly recommend.
