We were a party of four who came in on a Saturday night. Fortunately, we didn't have to wait very long for a table since they don't take reservations for parties of four. The owner, Tony, who was very friendly, brought us inside to wait and opened our bottle of wine we brought so we could have a drink while we waited for our table. He told us the history of the restaurant and how in the nice weather there are tables outside and he grows fruits and vegetables. We were seated and George was our server for the evening. He was extremely nice and knowledgeable as well as a great sense of humor! For appetizers we shared an eggplant appetizer and mozzarella and prosciutto and everything was flavorful and prepared with perfect amount of spices. Bread on table was warm and crusty. Complimentary assorted olives were on the table as well. Water was constantly refilled. For our main courses, my friend and I both got the short rib ravioli with au poivre sauce special. This came with six ravioli and was excellent. The sauce was a drop too thick, but tasty. My husband got the pasta bolognese and the sauce was very tasty. It could have used a little bit more sauce in my opinion but was a generous portion. My friend's husband got a veal dish and a side of penne vodka - both looked excellent. We were too full for dessert but the guys got espresso. George, the waiter, gave us each a glass of Sambuca which was very nice. The prices of this restaurant were extremely reasonable for the area. Our bill for four people with tip came to $150.00. I would definitely come back and can't wait until nice weather to sit outside and enjoy a meal. read more

This place is great. We used to come all the time when we lived locally. Now, we will actually drive the 30 minutes to dine here at least once every 6 weeks. We are always pleased. They were very patient and able to accommodate our group even though two of us were very late for our reservation. Everyone enjoyed their meal and appetizers. There were a couple of specials but most were seafood and not all of us eat seafood. I would have liked to see more of a variety. Yum!!! This place is awesome. If you like good classic Italian food this is the place to be. The house salad is delicious. I had the veal piccata which was absolutely perfect. Even the potatoes and veggies were to die for. A side of fettuccine Alfredo that was the perfect size and flavor. To top off a great dinner I had the chocolate mousse cake and that was a dream! This place is byob which is fine because there is a very good liquor store next door. The staff was so great and patient and above all hospitable. They deserve a little extra. The experience was exceptional. Part of a large party on a busy night. The waitstaff was attentative and efficient. The food was delcioius hot, served with a long wait, and was authentic Italian fare. Traveling down from Boston, it was a short 3 mile detiur off the highway that was worth it. I visited this restaurant after reading the positive reviews online. Overall, I was disappointed & feel that the restaurant did not live up to the hype. They do not take reservations for parties less than 6, so we knew we'd have to wait. We arrived around 7PM on Saturday night and we saw a ton of people waiting inside and outside. I saw a long list of names waiting to be seated, but the hostess assured me it would be 30 minutes tops, but "most likely less." It definitely didn't look that way, but we took her word on it. If I had known it would actually be a 1 hour wait with no where to sit/wait, I would have gone elsewhere. The menu was typical Italian entrees with some interesting specials. We ordered some of the more unusual dishes to try them out. The bread, entrees, and desert was pretty good. The house salad was very skimpy and sad looking. The biggest disappointment was that we felt we were intentionally overcharged. The dinner took so long that we were in a rush to get going, so when we received the handwritten scribbled check we didn't really question the total. The waiter distracted us with questions while we pulled out our credit card, which further kept us from analyzing the bill. Later on, we realized something had to be wrong, but our ticket was not itemized - so the next day I called to confirm the prices. We were overcharged about 25% and we also tipped based on the higher amount, which was really frustrating. They agreed to refund our card, and seemed pretty well versed in the procedure on dealing w "accidental" overcharges. The party next to us also had some sort of issue with their bill because we saw them discussing it with our waiter for quite some time. The whole thing seemed sketchy and deliberate. I'm a big fan of this restaurant. This little strip mall old school Italian joint makes an incredible marinara. They alway change up things with daily specials and the staff is like my second family. This was our first time here because we got a gift certificate. We brought another couple to share the certificate because we felt that the $50 value was more than just the two of us could eat. We came here celebrating my friend's birthday. It was busy, which we thought was a good sign and we did have reservations which they honored. It was my first time at Bellissimo, I was looking forward to dining here based on reviews. Service was actually good, we are understanding and it's a busy Saturday night. However, I was certainly not impressed with the food, taste, quality and presentation of the dishes. We ordered a few appetizers: prosciutto was very fatty (kitchen could have trimmed it) mozzarella was flavorless, the salad was not fresh (wilted & bits of brown leaves were seen throughout the plates). The calamari salad was gummy and couldn't be eating & enjoyed. The shrimp fra diavolo had only a few pieces of shrimp with a plate full of linguini (to make up for the less shrimp...no thanks) , the dishes were brought out slowly, we waited a while for everyone to receive their plate. Overall, I was disappointed with the food, but I did enjoy their cappucino; I certainly will not be returning . read more

Although I had attended a luncheon and liked the food at Bellissimo, I only recently returned with a family member. We both thought that our food was delicious. In fact for appetizers, we had two different fried calamari which were the best we had ever had. I had chicken rollatini with a wonderful sauce over linguine and a family member had linguine with clam sauce. The only improvement I would suggest was to cook the pasta a little more. My wife an I have enjoyed this restaurant since it opened during the summer of 2008. The decor is not particularly impressive and the noise level is a bit on the high side but both the food and service more than offset these two minor negatives. The appetizers and the main courses are varied and very well prepared. The restaurant is family run and they obviously care about the food quality and the service. It is a BYOB and the food is reasonably priced making this one of the more affordable and better places to go in the area. read more

While I'm normally used to eating at restaurants in the city (NY) the meal I had at Bellissimo for lunch was excellent. I started with the mozzarella carozza which from the looks of it seemed to be frozen and somewhat resembled mozzarella sticks, they tasted excellent, however I was a little nervous of the main course based on this. For $4 though I definitely didn't see it as a mistake. Next came a house salad, all entrees come with the soup of the day and a house salad, I went just for the house salad as I'm not really a soup person. The salad was phenomenal, not something I normally rave about but it was really very good. Then my entree, chicken parmigiana, your classic Italian restaurant entree. It was delicious, very well cooked, maybe too much mozzarella, but regardless all the ingredients tasted fresh. Best part, it was only $9. As for service, the bus boys were quick, food was all brought out at the right times, and our waiter was very helpful. It took a little while for him to take our order but there were a couple large parties and a lot of people so I understood. He also knew the specials by heart, which I like in a waiter. If this was in the city I probably would've given it 3 stars but for the area, based on the prices, the service, and the food, I feel not giving it 4 stars would just be wrong. read more

First time I have tried the restaurant, decided to order chicken parm to go and had a horrible experience. Order was placed at 4:45 on a Saturday (NOT during a rush period for the chicken), paid $19.00 for the food and promptly discovered the chicken was partially raw. I immediately called the restaurant again, was polite and explained the problem, and the restaurant agreed to replace the food with a new order. I was quoted 10 minutes to pick up the food and I said that given the thickness of the chicken used (approx. 3" thick) that it wouldn't be possible to cook it that quickly. I was assured the chicken would be pounded thin with a mallet and it wouldn't be an issue. Arrived 10 minutes later, picked up the food and once I returned home, I promptly discovered that the chicken had not been beaten thin as promised, the breast was still 3" thick and the chicken was once again partially raw and inedible. read more
