We went to Bellissimo last night, because we didn't want to deal with the St. Patrick's Day crowds and wanted a good meal. We have never been disappointed there, and last night was no different. We got right in with no wait. Hostess and manager were there and both greeted us pleasantly. We had clams in red sauce for appetizer and a seafood special which was absolutely delicious! They prepared it with gluten free pasta for me without complaint. Our waiter, Ken was super friendly and accommodating and even remembered us from coming a long time ago. He overheard us saying it was our anniversary, and he surprised us with a delicious dessert with candles!!! What a treat! It made our night so special. Just excellent...... we had a Tuesday evening reservation. Table was ready right on time and menus and specials were promptly provided. The specials sounded great followed by solid choices on the menu. Bread was fresh and salads were delivered in a well paced manner. Entrees of veal parmigiana, veal Antonio and shrimp Scampi were all excellent. Pasta was perfectly done. The owners, the hostess and the wait staff are all very attentive, courteous and friendly. It feels like we're having dinner with family when we eat here. Bellissimo has become my wife's and my "go to" restaurant. Why? Simple. Wide range of fabulous dishes...and if the sauce doesn't suit you, they'll make one you prefer. Not cheap (great food can't be cheap) but reasonable. The owners, brothers Tony and Aldi, are two of the nicest guys around and really care about your dining experience and they've put together a wonderful staff of great servers who truly give great service. We came in for our 3 rd anniversary! Not only did we have great attention by the hostess who asked if it was a special day for us, but we had a wonderful waiter, Ken, who always seems to wait on us! Don't let the shopping center or the fact that there is a cvs next door dissuade you from trying this restaurant. It's very good and better than most Italian restaurants around. The service was abundant and attentive, and the restaurant itself a peaceful atmosphere. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a showcase olive oil for the bread to start the meal, a crucial item for me for any Italian meal. The one they had available was just mediocre, although the bread itself was fine. Each entree is served with a salad for an appetizer, refreshingly light and dressed with a simple yet tasty balsamic dressing. I went with the chicken parm, a huge serving and incredibly well-prepared. A bit of crisp but not burnt at all, and a good meat-cheese-sauce ratio. The chicken was high-quality and as soft as butter. All of the pasta is homemade and the side of pasta marinara was enjoyable, but not dissimilar from that which you would get at your standard Italian sit-down restaurant. The rigatoni bolognese on the other hand was a great pasta dish with a memorably unique and savory meat sauce. It's a restaurant worth stopping by and frequenting again. They also apparently offer some great lunch specials during the week, which if you can make it to, are no doubt a solid option. read more

This is a neighborhood gem. Our daughter and son-in-law just moved nearby and they picked Bellissimo for their move in dinner with both sets of parents. We were warmly greeted on a busy Friday night. We had reservations and were seated promptly. Our wine was uncorked for us and bread brought immediately in case we were starving. Small dish of olives a nice touch. For apps we shared calamari and a beet, fig, and fresh mozzarella plate (absolutely delicious). A house salad came with each meal and served with a mild dressing. Entrees ordered were chicken and fish specials, pasta, and veal. Since they were all good, no sense on expounding on details since there may be different specials the next time. Our server George was polite, funny, and efficient. Made a special request desert for one of our party without a fuss. Host stopped by to see that everything was ok. The service was really good I must say except for a tiny flaw - their waiter had a hard time recognizing veil from chicken but maybe because both orders were with marsala sauce. The food is consistent and delicious, and they serve soup and salad with your entre. They brought the bread right away, which is an Italian's prerequisite. We've been here before and had parties here. The staff is not at all accommodating and does not try to make parties easy. I spoke to Tony about a baptism lunch for 30 people. I was hoping to do the regular menu and wanted to bring a cake i already purchased. Tony told me he doesn't allow cakes unless it's 35 people and He would allow it only if we did the prefix menu ($40 plus tax) for lunch. Sounds like they make a lot of money off of lunch parties so beware if you want to be robbed and treated like someone is doing a huge favor for you. We were only 5 guests off and wanted to use the regular menu to give our family more options. Felt like i was negotiating in the ghetto. Overall I think this restaurant is pretty good right off the bat. I've tried a bunch of dishes and the service is always very good. The one grip about this place I've had is some of the pasta dishes I have had. Some of the pastas have been overcooked and the sauces were very bland.
