So much promise, but ultimately falls horribly short. I've eaten at the Ruggles Green on Alabama and was excited to hear that Ruggles was going to open a store closer to my home. While the food is great, the consistently rude service and dysfunctional store level operations render this restaurant a 'must avoid' location. read more

This was extraordinary -- food is delicious and beautiful. Soup rotation (corn bisque) was flavorful and interesting. The salmon tacos were tasty and satisfying. Inside was a little cool, kept jacket on, but worth it!! read more

The Ruggles on Montrose is a Houston institution, and I love the food, so imagine my happiness when I heard they were going to open a Ruggles green in City Centre. The "green" concept is awesome with fresh sustainable ingredients, and fresh food. The location is perfect, with its open space, and easy to hear conversation. Outdoor seating-check...My favorite St. Arnolds Christmas Tree beer--check--The food, eh.... I ordered the Buffalo burger on wheat with the sweet potato fries, and the bf went for the Organic veggie pizza. Both were HIGHLY under seasoned. The burger that I ordered medium was still mooing--or whatever it is buffalo do. I liked the added cucumber on it though I had to pour lots of salt, and mustard to make it taste. The pizza, although crisp that zero flavor, of what you might find in an old folks home. I REALLY wanted to like this place, and will probably give it another shot, but for $35 for lunch, and not happy probably not in the near future. read more

Minestrone soup without pasta or beans. No taste. Manager even said it was supposed to have pasta. Turkey meatball panini on slabs of dry bread. Little taste. Two of us were done with our meals long before the third was served (before they even started making it). Had to talk to 3 people before they could figure out what was going on. 2 star meal (quantity over quality). 1 star service. Won't be back. read more

We love this place! My husband loves the GF options, so we visit when he needs a burger fix. My kids love running around on the green playing with all the other children. The salads are great! I especially love the Curry Chicken Salad. read more

What happened to customer service and a simple thank you. Not sure if the staff goes through any customer service training but Bethany definitely needs a refresher course on simple customer service:acknowledging a customer, smile, look at them and thanking them for their business. read more

Just left Ruggles; I've always been a fan of their food. Used to eat at the one in Saks all the time and the one in the montrose area....and ruggles bakery in rice village (used to work in the medical center it was a weekly spot). This is in alignment with the rest, good, fresh, food! I got a free dessert today just by signing up for an app that tracks money spent for rewards. The domino cake was divine, served with ice cream. A great cafe to stop in for a quick, simple, but tasty bite. read more

This place is packed on weekends especially outside been here a bunch of times already but every time the food is so inconsistent sometimes the food is good other times it is super cold , pizzas not cooked long enough real doughy, burgers are dry , to many other places to eat around here wouldn't come back here read more

Absolutely horrible meal. What has happened to this place. It was fantastic as Ruffles Green. Turkey burger was dry, flavorless and served lukewarm. Fries had the worst flavor ... Like old grease. I'll never come back again. read more

After Happy Hour at Brio, my husband insisted we walk down to Ruggles & get the white chocolate bread pudding (even though it was his birthday). He has been raving about how they have the best bread pudding and OMG was he right! The perfectly lightly toasted bread was sinfully sweet with yummylicious pudding goodness! This is no doubt on my list for last dessert I have to devour before I die! I already felt like I was in heaven after that first bite. I haven't tried their food, but 5 stars for their bread pudding! read more

I rarely eat turkey burgers because they're so hard to get right but Ruggles does them right. I hate to use the word, but they're super moist and flavorful. The selection of free pepper pickles and flavored iced teas is pretty great. read more

Normally love this spot, but it feels like the quality of the food has gone down. Burgers seem way thinner, fruit isn't as fresh tasting and the bussers/servers have little patience with people. I hate to write this because I kid you not, I love this place. My hope is that the owners see this and recognize that its standards have dropped a little. I hope a name change doesn't mean a change in food quality. read more

We decided to check this place out Sunday evening. Come hungry because the portions are Texas sized. We ended up skipping breakfast and lunch, and we still weren't able to finish everything. We started with a spinach dip appetizer. That alone would make a meal for two people. The fresh baked bread was really good that came with it. The veggie nut burger was flavorful, the bread was great, and cheese was awesome. The Veggie Sourdough Panini was not so great. The fresh herbs included cilantro which just doesn't go with the goat cheese. The sweet potato fries weren't that good, but the regular fries were. The desserts we selected, the Charlottes Webb and the organic Key Lime Pie were very good and they were huge. The service is difficult to describe. The restaurant tries to make this fusion of urban hip and a self service fast food joint. At times we were expecting the wait staff to do something and yet they ignored us. We assumed that if you want a refill you have to do it yourself and that if you want a take out box you have to handle that as well since those are next to the drinks. The only other issue was with the specials menu. The cheese & wine special is supposed to have a pairing of both by the chef. Everything was ala carte. Was this upscale "green" dining or fast food? On the green side, the take out containers are paper instead of styrofoam. The to go cups were plastic instead of the biodegradable corn based material that looks like plastic that Ted's Montana Grill uses. Overall the experience was ok, but they need to make some service changes and try to discover their identity. The location suggests a higher end level of service than we experienced. read more

Bellagreen honestly do have the best sweet potato fries!! I got the quinoa mac&cheese and it was sooo good! Better than I thought. Definitely do recommend and will be back. read more

Perfect place for lunch in the sun, the Salads are great and guess what, staff is very nice too !

I was so looking forward to eating my lunch on the patio and enjoying the rain. Unfortunately, my burger was awful! The bottom bun was soggy, the tomato was the but end with the stem, and worst of all after I took my first bite I realized that the meat was raw! I asked for medium and I got raw hamburger meat! I was so grossed out I asked for a refund. The manager gave me the refund and offered a gift card for next time but I declined the gift card. I will not be coming back here again! I hope I don't get sick from eating raw hamburger meat... read more

I'm upgrading to 4 stars, as I was pretty delighted by the spicy fish tacos. It's one of the cheaper items on the menu, and it was the bomb! It comes with a side of tabasco sauce, that really hits the spot. read more

Went for a quick stop with my daughter. I had a chicken sandwich with salad, it was good but my daughter did not want to eat grilled chicken. Service was friendly and fast. read more

Ruggles Green has gone downhill. I think the restaurant knows its a great spot for families - if you're lucky to snatch a table with a great location outdoors in front of the field with the kids running around. The quality of the spinach dip and shrimp tacos was okay. They were bland. The kids' meal looked better. read more

Ruggles green is one of my favorites. I went here to eat with some friends and the food was great. I ordered the margarheta/margarita pizza and I loved it! Memorial is a little too far from us so I try to go to the one in Kirby which works perfectly fine with me. I never get tired of this place and they have the best sweet potato fries ever! I definitely recommend the place. The only down side though, the location gets packed and it gets a bit hard to fine a decent and closer parking lot. Weekend is always busy so expect it if you plan on going here. read more

My boyfriend found a hair in his food and after I confirmed twice that I would receive baked sweet potato fries my order was incorrect. Won't be returning. read more

I had the daily special of spicy chili. It was really good but very spicy. I'm not a big fan of spicy but I like chili this was way to spicy for me but it was good. The service was very quick as usual. read more

I have eaten at the Ruggles chain 3 times now. I have eaten at this specific location the 1st and 3rd time. Of the 2 locations this is definitely the worst. This most recent time I ordered the Blackened Shrimp Salad (my last salad from their other locations was AMAZING!). Sadly this was no where close to as good. The shrimp was dry and lacked flavor. The salad was fresh, but the star of the salad was supposed to be the shrimp and it did not meet my expectations. People around me were ordering desserts and they looked amazing! I will no next time at this location to just skip dinner and go straight to the sweets. read more

You must try the warm white chocolate bread pudding. I've never had another so wonderful.

Ruggles Green has become a very popular spot for organic foods in Houston. I love the patio of this specific location. It seems to always be crowded and full of life whenever I go here. The food is delish! I specifically love the tacos, lettuce wraps, and sweet potato fries! If you go, make sure you try the pink velvet cake it is one of my favorite desserts in town. read more

Pretty unpleasant experience here tonight, we waited 20 mins for them to bring a cold, overly salty burger with cold, stale fries, a very fishy salmon salad and a side of grilled veggies. Total with a beer was $43. read more

This place was fantastic for kids!! There's a grassy area outside for little ones to run around. Good wine, pizza, and creme brûlée. Perfect for meeting up with old friends on a weeknight. Short wait for food, and clean restrooms with changing tables. read more

I'm a big fan of being able to eat outside. I work in a stuffy office all week so I like to get out and get my dose of sunshine when I can. Ruggles Green has an amazing outdoor area that feeds right into the courtyard at City Centre. No need to worry about hearing your name called because they locate you with a table marker. The food is unique. I love that they are a certified Green restaurant and they have gluten-free options. The veggie tacos and smoke chicken sandwich are my favorite items. So glad spring is here so I can go back to eating outside! read more

I love this place. There food is fresh, they have amazing fish tacos. The desserts are out of this world probably the best I ever had at a restaurant. This place is great. read more

Fantastic chicken salad sandwich, busy lunch rush but they moved it along very quickly and comfortably.

I had the shrimp tacos and precisely asked them NOT spicy. When the food arrived I almost thought the order was wrong since the tacos were covered by a forest of salad, probably used to cover the miniature size shrimps. The plate was also infested with onions and of course the tacos were spicy. Very disgusting taste! GF had a plate of mac and cheese and couldn't even finish it. Overall a very dissatisfying dinner. read more

I've tried a few different things here, all good, but the must have item is the fire roasted tomato basil soup. It comes with a puff pastry on top which you break off to eat with the soup. So nom. read more

I come here occasionally about once or twice a month. The food is usually decent, this time around I ordered the spicy fish tacos. They were more like not-so spicy cabbage tacos. For the price I expected way more fish, and to conceal the lack of fish, they buried it under mountains of cabbage. Not the biggest fan of cabbage, and the little fish that was there wasn't spicy at all. Really disappointing experience. read more

Four employees who were not busy (restaurant was empty) ignored me while I stood at the counter trying to pick up my online order. I've never once reviewed a restaurant, but I was so taken aback by their lack of concern that I decided I needed to. By reading other reviews, it looks like I'm not the only one that's experienced this. Food was fine. read more

She wished my wife a happy birthday! We will be back for sure :) read more

Gluten free options??? Really - NOT We drove a ways to go to Ruggles for gluten free pizza and pasta. My sig has celiac and cannot tolerate any gluten. First the menu has a disclaimer about cross contamination and a warning about the possibility of gluten in "gluten free" dishes. What the #@/@*#? We spoke with the manager who warned us away if we really have an allergy. Note to restaurant - 1 out of 123 people have a true serious gluten allergy and are not just doing this as a lark or fad diet. Take the gluten free designations off of your menu. read more
