Five stars for ample parking, friendly and attentive service, Maine root, indoor and outdoor seating, deliciously crafted menu items, and *drumroll* White Chocolate Bread Pudding which I cannot and WILL NOT live without. bellagreen - This is what happens when you order White Chocolate Bread Pudding. Too good. Must share. - New American Near Me - Houston, Texas

Casual trendy neighborhood cafe with plentiful GF and alternative eating choices. I tried the spicy chicken tacos complete with bell peppers, que so fresco, and sriracha peach sauce. A piquant twist on a classic chicken taco. Delish! The corn tortillas got soggy and mealy after eating the first one, so I suggest eating the contents with a spoon after 5 minutes or so. I also tried the GF carrot cake to satisfy my often neglected sweet tooth. AMAZING! The cake didn't have any odd textures or aftertaste, which is rare for GF confections unfortunately. The frosting was rich but not overly so. Dense, moist cake with just the right crunch from the nuts. GF or not, you're gotta try it! The decor is comfortable and somewhat modern, and is pretty unique. Dark wood with green color pops. read more

Great spot nestled in The Heights for healthy food! I love the ambiance and outdoor patio. Your order comes out quickly after spending a moment at the register. I ordered the Kale Caesar salad with shrimp. It was yummy! I will be back and I'm glad it's so close to the office. I went again today (Sept 19). I had the lamb burger with Swiss on wheat, fruit and a side salad. All items were yummy! read more

As someone who has been to MANY sandwich places over the years I can confidently say that Bellagreen's grilled chicken sandwich is THE BEST sandwich I have ever had. The bread was perfectly toasted with the perfect sauce & just the right amount of sweet tones. Bellagreen has vegan , gluten free all those type of options for anybody & the food is relatively inexpensive! The portions are great regardless. They present themselves as very sustainable which I honestly love & appreciate. Bellagreen is very clean & wonderfully decorated! I couldn't love a restaurant more and I will most definitely be coming back for more! read more

My pregnant wife wanted a salad so we tried to order online for delivery, everytime we entered the order there was a problem with the card. We tried another card and still same problem. So I decided to call and they could not help, eventually they gave me to the manager, normally they do not place delivery orders on the phone. I told the manager the web site did not work, he said he would place a delivery order over the phone but he'd charge me an additional $10 to do so. He also said to use their app which should help. So I downloaded the app and it still did not work with multiple cards. So I called a different restaurant and got something else. They did not seem to want my business and did not do anything to help resolve a problem I was having. They seem to solely rely on technology that doesn't work. If the site or the app doesn't work they don't seem to want to help you themselves. read more

We come here a lot we love the food how ever !!! Yesterday we came in with my 1 year old and simply asked if they could make a veggie cheese quesadilla ( since they have all ingredients) The cooks said NO, we thought It was kinda rude because we asked the the restaurant was empty littereally, they weren't busy . Just sucks we couldn't get something so simple for our kid to eat It just seemed lazy and not caring for costumers read more

I haven't been here since they changed their name from rugglesgreen to bellagreen. I had their chicken salad sandwich and it was really good. Sweet potato fries were solid and really hot as well! Customer service was superb, came in on a Tuesday night around 930 and the gentleman that was helping me was great. I need to try their turkey burger. I haven't had it since they rebranded here out in the woodlands. Gonna give this place another shot in the future! That blackened shrimp salad looks gooooooood too btw. read more

Bellagreen is a great place to grab a quick healthy lunch! They've never disappointed and have MANY options for vegetarians (part of the reason I love it so much!!) The parking at this location is a little tricky but there is a lot off of 11th St next to a church that is open for parking. The price point of Bellagreen is great! For fresh healthier options, you can't beat $9 for a veggie wrap and fries! (Water to drink) Each time I go with family or friends, everyone tries something different. Today, my friend got the chicken caesar wrap and said it was delish! I had the veggie wrap and it was very flavorful with lots of different veggies! We each took home half a wrap to enjoy later in the day! I will definitely be enjoying the different locations of Bellagreen for years to come! read more

Ahhh-MAZ-ing!!! My husband patrols in this area and the kids and I met him here for dinner. From the mouth of my 9 year old, she said, "Mom, be sure to give this place 5 stars!" Healthy food that tastes really good! They accommodate dietary needs and have gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, etc. I had the roasted chicken sandwich. Yum!! See the picture. It's a herb roasted all-natural chicken sautéed with plantains, cilantro, bacon, chopped jalapeños, red & yellow peppers, black beans in a marinara sauce, fresh mozzarella cheese, mixed greens, tomato, house-made pickles, red onion & our peach chipotle dressing; served on a whole-wheat bun. It also comes with your choice of fries. The staff was really nice. The restaurant was busy and clean. Restrooms are unisex. Food is decent. Ambiance is about what you would expect. They don't take cash which really kinda sucks.

Hard to pick a favorite! I really like Bellagreen because it has a huge menu with lots of options for just about any diet, and everything seems like it's customizable. Getting here is easy, but parking can be limited during peak dining times. I really like their soups and huge salads over the other menu items, but my favorite things are the minestrone soup, tortilla soup, spinach salad, and blackened shrimp salad. The minestrone soup is pretty light, served in a warm broth with lots of veggies, whereas the tortilla soup (which is vegetarian, yay!), has a pleasant kick that doesn't overwhelm you, but definitely leaves you with a little heat in your mouth after every bite. The spinach salad is filling, and you can customize the dressing if you are looking to make it vegetarian, while the blackened shrimp salad is both sweet and savory, a delicious mix of lots of tasty flavors. Be sure to specifically ask for the dressing on the side when you order if you prefer your salads served that way, as it's hit or miss whether or not it actually gets served that way. Overall this is a delicious restaurant for any meal of the day, and works well for take out, too! Cheers! read more

I love the variety of food offered here. Everything is tasty and consistent with flavor. I enjoy the food and service every time I visit.

Stopped here for a bite and had a Buffalo burger or the "B" burger as they call it. I asked for medium cook on the Berger... they nailed it. The manager and the staff were attentive and friendly and all masked up. The manager was watching out fir our needs but not hovering. When we left the establishment all the staff including those cooking and food prepping said thank you and be safe. I believed them and I will be back. As soon as I can. We did have coffees at 12:30 and I'm not sure if the coffee was a bitter flavor or it had been sitting a bit to long in the warmer. Based on the quality of the service, the food and the staff I'm going to have to say it was a bitter flavor that I didn't care for that much. Thanks for lunch my friends in the Heights. read more

First time visiting last night and had an amazing experience! I showed up pretty late (9pm - they close at 10pm on weeknights) and was greeted by a warm, friendly face! I asked the girl, Grace, for recommendations since it was my first time. She was more than happy to help and even gave me a sample of the mango-ranch that I was iffy about... It was phenomenal by the way!! I ended up ordering the salmon salad with a side of sweet potato fries and got a side sauce of the mango ranch to dip my fries in per Grace's recommendation. It was absolutely delicious! I almost over-stayed my welcome and realized it was 10:05pm and apologized for not leaving as the restaurant was now closed. (I happened to notice another table of 4 in the building so I felt a little more at ease), but she assured me that it was fine and graciously thanked me on my way out. Delicious food with amazing service - what more can you ask for?! Thanks for being so awesome, Grace! read more

Average. I had the veggie burger (vegan) it was dry because the burger didn't have any mustard or mayo or any fancy sauce nothing. I thought it was topped with hummus but I guess I read the menu incorrectly. Or maybe the hummus had dairy so they didn't add it . I don't know but it was so basic. The sweet potato fries were okay. I'm just glad that I was able to enjoy an evening with my old college roommate and friends. We sat outside and the vibes were cool. The buss ladies were also very eager to take our plates. Like very. But they are just being helpful. No vegan desserts tho. read more

I have become a big fan of bellagreen and their very large selection of gluten free options. The Wagyu Bacon Burger is phenomenal. However, today I ordered the Curry Chicken Salad to go because I wanted something lighter, I love curry and it sounded amazing. I was VERY disappointed that the chicken was VERY VERY DRY, and not very seasoned (but I love curry so maybe I was expecting too much) they also gave the smallest container of dressing for such a big salad. Overall, the salad was too dry and too bland for my taste buds which I think could easily be improved with cooking and seasoning the chicken properly and giving a proportional amount of the delicious dressing. read more

I'm dating myself, but I first discovered bellagreen's predecessor (Ruggles) more than two decades ago. Its various locations have come and gone, and it has evolved over the years, but I've always been a loyal customer, largely due to the warm baked goat cheese salad and, of course, the amazing desserts. (My favorites are the white chocolate bread pudding and the tres leches.) Still, it's been quite a while since I last dined at bellagreen/Ruggles. Today, a friend and I met at bellagreen for lunch, and it was DIVINE. I asked the staff's suggestion on which of three salads to order: my mainstay (warm baked goat cheese salad), the chicken curry salad, or the melon salad. Since the latter is seasonal, he suggested I try that. I was not disappointed! In fact, it was probably one of the best salads I've ever eaten--I will certainly be returning for more! I also got a slice of the pink velvet cake to go and, while it was no white chocolate bread pudding, I still quite enjoyed it. Thank you for sticking it out over the years and providing Houston with consistently good quality food! I will be back very soon. read more

I usually enjoy the food at this place a lot more, but I made the mistake of ordering the green pizza. Nothing in the description on the menu mentions how freakin spicy hot this thing is! There are lightweights like me among you -- please put some warning there. If there had been some mention of it being fairly hot spice-wise, I might have looked at the list of options more carefully and asked to have the hot red pepper flakes removed. Who puts that much on a normal pizza before serving it to the customer?!?! Bellagreen does, apparently. It was not an enjoyable dinner. Since I usually like the food, I put three stars, but that pizza deserved one star from me. read more

This is hands-down my most favorite restaurant in all of Houston! I love that this is the only certified organic restaurant in Texas. All of their ingredients are organic or local and they recycle their oils and rainwater as well as I can see from the outside. I love that they do that. I also love that they have bushels of fresh Rosemary bushes grown outside of the restaurant. They have a covered patio outside as well if you want to eat around nature. Their employees seem friendly and helpful. I have tried almost everything on the menu and loved almost everything. Their pizzas are cheesy and delicious. Their salads are absolutely amazing and fresh! I order their salads all the time and add grilled wild salmon on top. Their french fries are bomb.com! The crab cakes are so tasty and it has a yummy sauce all around it. The artichoke dip and hummus appetizers are a must. Also all their Iced Teas are fresh brewed as it seems and flavored. They also have a rewards program that gives you free items or free pizzas by the points that you earn when you come there so that is a nice Plus. I come here on a regular basis and love this restaurant and I'm sure anyone that comes here will love it too! The only Improvement that I would suggest for them is that they aren't consistent when it comes to giving the drinks that comes with the kids meal I would like to be able to order that and have my drink. Especially since that is not the only thing I order I usually order about one or two extra dishes on top of that. And even dessert! I get it it is for kids under 12 but I think they should look at the bigger picture and see that if a customer orders multiple orders and come there on a regular basis that giving a drink that comes with the kids meal should not be a big deal especially since I've had it all the time I think as of lately they have been stingy with it. When a customer is told no on something they normally get it gives a sour taste in their mouth. Please improve! I still love you guys but that is my only discrepancy of this place. read more

It's unlikely I will be visiting this location of bellagreen again. I visited this location recently and while the food was not bad, the service was incredibly substandard and left a bad taste in my mouth. When we walked in, we were not greeted by either of the employees behind the counter, in fact, neither of them even smiled. We were unsure which person would be helping us so we stood in a kind of purgatory until one of the employees turned around so we assumed the other gentleman behind the counter would be taking our orders. I ordered a special from the limited autumn menu and when I did, the employee acted as though he had never heard of the dish and made me very uncomfortable with his lack of hospitality. The same thing happened when the person I came with ordered and the employee acted as if we were almost bothering him. Not a smile in sight, we paid and weren't offered cups for our drinks, when we realized and asked, we were told "you just take the cups." The food came out quickly and was fine. Unfortunately, the autumn special I had was lacking in quantity. The salmon had a fine flavor and was cooked well, but the vegetables served with it were virtually nonexistent. The person I was with ordered the vegan burger with sweet potato fries - a true favorite from bellagreen- and it was slightly undercooked so it fell apart more than we would've liked. Overall the food was fine but for the customer service I will not return. read more

Ordered a pizza today, took over an hour to arrive and it was cold. I wanted to share the feedback. I was pretty disappointed.

The food is good but the past three times I've order delivery from here, they've gotten my order wrong. Probably best to just go in.

Went here with some friends to grab some "healthy" food to eat after exercising and being all fit n stuff. They have a more extensive menu than I imagined and lots of options for everyone (including vegetarian and gluten-free!). I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and it came out a lot larger and also smothered in cheese. It was very yummy and huge but not quite what I was expecting. My friends food looked just as delicious. I tried a bite of their special "the Mac n cheese" and it was WAY too cheesy and had the strangest texture. Honestly never thought that was even a possibility in the realm of Mac n cheese world but it was not good. The parking is limited and we had to find street parking a few blocks down but it is in such a cute area it was a fun lil walk. 3 stars because it wasn't anything super special, I would say it was mediocre and fit my expectations. read more

With the start of lent, i was stuck to little meals and a fish only diet. I referred to yelp to look at the dishes and was intially happy to dine here. When entering we were greeted in a nonchalant manner. After exploring the menu furthering our group of 3 order was taken in a pissed off tone. It was 9:30, they close at 10. Out of all the Ruggles Green locations this is my favorite. The main reason? MORE PARKING! It's crazy to think that makes that much of a difference, but if you can't park, you can't even get into to enjoy the food. Everything is pretty solid and healthy. read more

I love Ruggles (Bella) Green. One of the first places we ever ordered when we moved to Houston. And we order at least 2-3 times a month for pickup. It's the go-to place in the Heights if we can't figure out what else to get. Or I'm just craving a certain thing. Place is one of the few around that can do fresh, healthy food quickly. Most of the time they are right on. While I order out a lot from this place, portions are definitely better if you eat in the place. Salads especially are smaller and have much to be desired in presentation. I'm vegan and they are very comfortable with modifications or special orders, even by phone. Before I was vegan, I was obsessed with their pizza - I love it. Gluten free or not, get it. Specials are always good. Kale Caesar with an added salmon and extra capers was my go-to. As a vegan, grab the Lettuce Wraps without cheese. Lots that's good here for in or take out. Name change not a fan but whether this location or the one is City Centre, go for it. read more

I like this location! Peeps are nice and food is good...maybe even better than the one near Kirby Dr. Went here for a late lunch on a weekday and there were lots of people finishing up their plates. If you've never been to any of their locations, this is a counter service type of place. They have lots of parking on the 11th street side of the building. There is a small parking area on Studewood as well..but getting out can be a pain because you have to back out to exit the parking lot. I usually get the buffalo burger but I decided to get the grilled chicken sammich that day. It was really good...juicy and big. My hubs got the fried fish tacos and the slaw was fresh and plentiful. Maybe too plentiful because it was a messy lunch!! The hempanadas were okay. The dough is flaky and looks home made. The stuffing I didn't care for too much because it was sweet from the raisins. But it was not bad...others may like it sweet. Great neighborhoodie type of place and great for outdoor eating so we can people-watch the quirky peeps driving by. read more
