Tried this place 7/18 and we must say the food was amazing. Very flavorful but what made our experience better was our server Lucy! So we decided to do Father's Day breakfast for takeout and figured we'd try Bella's Diner for the first time. Initially the French Toast combo was missing from our order, so I called to get it corrected. Instead of professionalism, I was met with snickering and a casual "my bad... we can write your name down for next time," followed by a bunch of dismissive blah‑blah-blah. It's Father's Day, our meal is already messed up, and everything else is getting cold while we try to fix this issue. My husband even felt bad and drove to pick up the missing order -- only for us to get home and find out the French toast was grossly undercooked. At that point, the whole experience was over for me. Appetite and, excitement gone. Epic fail, we won't be back. Lastly word of advice, get someone with sense to answer the phone -- the lack of empathy, the attitude, on top of poor food quality just cost you a customer! read more

Family unexpectedly dropped by from out of town, so we decided to treat them to a late breakfast / early lunch. This was my first time here and I vaguely remember the business (pizza place) that was here before, but I was pleasantly surprised by the remodel. Not only was it refreshing from the heat outside, but the interior was really beautiful. I love the complimenting pictures of local Bakersfield area, the interior masonry is beautiful, and the attractive pictures decorating the walls was very nice. The diner also has a very nice open layout that makes the place feel very inviting and not so crowded. The waitress that helped us was very friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and everything looked and tasted great. I'm glad we discovered this spot, we'll definitely be back and luckily it's so close to home. read more

The service was not the best, our food came out stale and very cold. We asked for a reheated plate, and the food was just toasted/burnt more on one side of the dish which made the food more stale and harder to cut through. There wasnt anyone checking up on us once our drinks and food was being broughten out either. The wait for our food was very long also, so once the food came out it was a much more dissapointing experience seeing how little effort there was to make the food a appropriate heat. read more

Cute place, very clean. The food was good but my only issue was I ordered blueberry pancakes and instead of mixing the blueberries in they were put on top raw so they rolled off the plate. The videos and pictures I saw all had the blueberries cooked in so I was thrown off by that. Other than that it was good. Would go back to try other things. read more

This is my second visit to Bellah's diner. It's a highly recommend this restaurant. Their menu is extensive especially their breakfast menu is three pages and then they have a great lunch menu. The food, service and ambience is excellent. I ordered the AB cheese burger with french fries, BTW all of their burgers, have two ground beef patties. Our waitress was superb very nice and helpful. We stopped by Bella's this past Tuesday for breakfast. I like how they designed the interior. Cute and spacious. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was awesome. Crispy outside, without the breading being too thick and juicy on the inside. The waffle was the proper thickness and held up to the chicken and syrup. My wife ordered the French Toast and sausage plate. Nice cinnamon flavor on the French toast (one of the toast was a bit undercooked though). Eggs tasted like they were cooked in butter (as they should be) and the breakfast sausage had that proper meat/spices/salt flavor you expect. While friendly, we did not see our waitress often. They appeared to be understaffed. Overall, had a nice time at Bella's. Looking forward to trying their lunch menu. read more

I've been passing by this place a few times and I decided to have breakfast here with my sister and I am glad we did. The food portion was just perfect and it had a lot of flavors to my liking. I ordered the California Omelette with country potatoes and a side of sourdough toast-- and everything was delicious! The inside was spacious and the food tasted like I was eating at someone's home-- which in my opinion was very comforting. Our server was nice and friendly and she asked if we needed anything frequently. Also, I recommend trying their Pecan Waffles! I made the mistake in eating this last so the whip cream melted a little bit but it was still delicious and adding the maple syrup made up for it. read more

What can I say, we went for the first time last Sunday, amazing. It was so good and service was great. We went early so no waiting and was seated right away. My only complaint is that the tables are hug and if you're a chubby like me lol there's no room to get in and out of the booth. Moving on the food was so good!!! I had blueberry pancakes with blueberry syrup, and I added eggs and sausage to my order. My son had banana Carmel French toast and he added eggs and bacon. The food came out hot and let me tell you it was so good we are going back today lol. It does get super busy as the clock ticks but if you can go in the mornings its less busy. This location was the former Me-n-Ed's and the interior has minor changes to the decor yet I loved the photographs of Bakersfield landmarks. We visited last Sunday morning & were greeted promptly. Noticed there was one waitress and one chef and a full restaurant. With that our waitress still was checking in regularly and our food came out quickly! My son ordered the Mickey Mouse pancake breakfast which was super cute and he loved it. I ordered the chicken and waffles and the portions was generous! Buttery waffle and crispy flavorful juicy chicken (the chicken is boneless and basically a chicken strip). My husband ordered the chile verde stack and typically my husband loves anything chile verde yet he found his breakfast just a little underwhelming as his chile verde had little meat. Invited a friend to breakfast. I'd heard about Bella's, so we went. It was a holiday Monday morning. The place was open. Only two tables were full. We were seated immediately and drink orders were taken. We checked out the menu. Lots of good looking choices. I went with basic French toast and sausage links. My friend ordered the pecan waffle and bacon. First off, coffee was good...dark and flavorful. Food came pretty fast. My order was basic, but exactly what I wanted. The restaurant is clean and spacious. There are some stock images of food on the wall for decoration. The waitstaff is nice, but I was left a bit underwhelmed, having read other reviews that said they were met with amazing customer service and hospitality. I ordered a bacon waffle, which stated on the menu that it comes with butter and syrup. When I received my waffle, it had no butter. No biggie. I asked one of the waitresses if I could have some, as I recall it being on the menu. She then told me that it doesn't actually come with butter, despite the menu saying it does. Which I thought was odd... but nonetheless, I got some butter. It was okay. The waffle was a little dry and the bacon is more sprinkled on top than stuffed. Decided to try a new spot for brunch with my parents. They have a good menu choice. Only wish they had a steak option for breakfast. Coffee was strong which I love. Restrooms were nice and clean. Not for me. Very bland. I appreciate that my Western Omlette was full of onions and bell peppers how I like it however they were hard and not cooked down. The bacon was also soft. First impression as we came in was that it was a nice small diner. Quiet, clean. There wasn't a lot of people at the time we went which was late afternoon. Service in the other hand was very slow, very poor. The staff could use more training. Ordered the Eggs Benedict, wife got the cornbeef hash, and the kids pancakes. Food arrived quickly actually. That was probably because the cornbeef hash was pretty much the same one you get out of the canned Libby's. Egg Benedict, not that good, the holandaise was disgusting. The kids at least liked their pancakes. It took our server 8 minutes to bring us Ketchup. And of course we didnt get any refills. Server was pretty nonexistent. The worst part was my wife ended up having a bad stomach ache the whole day. Mine wasn't so bad, still got an upset stomach nonetheless. Thats probably because I didnt even eat half my food. Just part of 1 eggs Benedict and a bit of country potatoes. Just happy my kids didnt get a bad tummy ache. Definitely wont be back. Eat at your own risk. Personally, I wouldnt recommend eating there. I've been here a couple times (I like to try and support neighborhood restaurants) but I can't recommend this restaurant. The food is passable, but the service always is lacking. If they're relatively empty, you can expect to be quickly seated but it will be a long time before they take your order. Food is slow to arrive (one of our party's food didn't arrive before everyone else finished). Despite the awful service, there was no attempt apology or attempt to rectify. Server checked on us ONCE and mentioned the kitchen was backed up. I understand delays happen our drink refills would have been appreciated. After nearly two hours, we decided to leave. Nice little diner serving breakfast and lunch. We stopped by for lunch and we all ordered a burger... The burgers are tasty and very large. To be honest any of their burgers would be too large for my wife to eat and the menu says all of their burgers are two patties... I would suggest having an option to at least have a single patty for someone that can't eat or doesn't want such a big burger... We will give them a try to breakfast in the near future... read more

When we arrive we were greeted and got seated right away by a young gentleman. After that point everything else went wrong. Waited 20min to take our order, not only did they attend someone that came way later after us. The server finally took our order after a few minutes we received our order and everything was missing. My dish should have came with bacon it did not. My 2 kids dishes should of came with toast and the servers immediate response after I let her know the toast was missing "you didn't tell me what kind of toast you wanted" mind blowing isn't it your job to ask the customer what kind of toast they would like? read more
