They were able to accomodate our group (one in a wheelchair & a toddler), printed out menus with "Happy 40th Birthday, Alex!" on the top, and the service was fantastic. Menu had something for everyone, including mocktails for the non-drinking one in the group, and she said hers was delicious - I really think this is a fantastic touch. Food was fantastic. My spring risotto was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Tried two of the cocktails off the specials menu and both were delicious. We stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday morning. It's an old church (from 1868) that has been beautifully remodeled. Belfre has a great upscale modern feel. It's a smaller place with limited seating...so I'm sure you'll want reservations for dinner. (We just walked in with no trouble for our breakfast visit.) I ordered a Cortado (espresso based coffee drink) and it was well made and better than many coffee shops that I've visited. They had a nice breakfast / brunch menu with many tempting options. The menu items were a good mix of breakfast (like the oatmeal I ordered) and lunch (like the sandwich my wife ordered). Something for everyone! read more

When we finally got our meal, we ordered another glass of wine, which we were told would be complimentary. It wasn't. We were charged. This was my second time going to Belfre. First time, I sat at the bar with little acknowledgement and having to essentially beg to order some food. Drinks were fine, food was mediocre. Ended up finishing the night at another restaurant due to the "okay" service and food. Now my second time, I came early and had a drink at the bar, no complaints. Had an experience outside in the domes. They were very cold (it was only about 30 outside so what will this be like when its 0) even with the heater and the food was awful. The charcuterie board had minimal cheese, an excess of meat and nuts with filler spring mix in the center. The thai sweet potato fries basically tasted only of peanut/peanut butter which overpowered any other intended flavor. The side salad was simply lettuce, tomatoes and red onion. An extreme let down. Finally, my entrée of a lobster roll. Absolutely atrocious, the lobster tasted extremely fishy and the mayo mix was so salty it was inedible. Thankfully the bread was acceptable so I had something to munch on. The most disappointing aspect was the server, a middle aged woman, never asked how the food was nor did she question why 3/4 of the lobster filling was left on the plate. The group I was with also tasted the lobster roll and all had the same view. No one was overly impressed with their food. I am always willing to give a restaurant a second try. But again with mediocre food at best and questionable service, I definitely will not be returning... read more

I have been sitting here for 50 minutes after ordering on Mother's Day and We still haven't gotten our food yet and my family is now running extremely late and might miss our movie. Our waitress took 20 minutes to come back to our table. At this point, after we were done with our meal, we asked for butter. She brought back a frozen, rock hard lump of butter. For a $60 breakfast, I'll pass. Oh, and then, paid in cash, and got $45 in change back, in $5 bills. Why do I want 9 $5 bills in change? My friend and I went there for breakfast. First, let's start with the service. The restaurant wasn't busy but our waitress had a deep sense of commitment that we should order. She didn't give us a real opportunity to sip our coffee, chat, and review the menu. Our food came very quickly which was nice but the food was very underwhelming. My friend had their avocado bagel which only had spread one side of the bagel. A very quick observation of the sandwich was the name "avocado bagel" was a misnomer because there were only two very thin slices of avocado versus the expectation of the name sake. I ordered the biscuits and gravy, which were very bland. At this point, my friend and I had eaten about half our food and our coffee was gone; our waitress never followed up us nor did she ask us if we wanted more coffee. My friend and I were drinking our water because nobody offered us any coffee refills. We received a few water refills and then the employees acted like we weren't there. This entire time, the restaurant was not busy. There were plenty of empty tables around us. The bad service and the mediocre food score an F. This place has amazing food and deserves a five plus star rating. Sorry I didn't post a photo of out the daily hash with market vegetables as it had a very pleasing visual appeal. I really enjoy the very flavorful Benedict with pork. The host was thoughtful of our seating as he recommended a place where there wouldn't be a sun glare as we chose to dine inside. The service was very pleasant with the perfect amount of attentiveness. My girlfriend also said the bathrooms were very clean. An excellent overall dining experience. I have been here twice. Both times have been on not terribly busy week nights. It is a bit pricey, portions are small but I really enjoy the food. (My husband is less of a fan...does not enjoy spending that much money and leaving hungry.) The odd thing I found was that for everything we tried on our last visit (two different wines, an appetizer, soup and two entrees, one from the feature menu), our wait person never asked once how our food was. When I said my entree was delicious, she said "isn't it? We tried it last night." Well, I'm glad she enjoyed it. Ha. It was odd...felt like she knows they do food well and that was that. We also had to flag her down at one point standing across the room to get a second round of drinks before our entrees since she had quickly grabbed my husband's empty beer bottle, left him with an almost empty beer glass and never came back to offer refills. We hosted my mother's 80th birthday at Belfre last weekend, and I have to say that the staff went out of their way to make our event special and memorable. Dining under the moonlight in the patio domes was simply magical. And a big shout-out to our server, Trenton, for being so attentive! That could not have been easy given we were a large party (11), split between two domes, on a cold February night. The food was OUT OF THIS WORLD, and my family is still talking about it! Just had brunch their today with my friends. We were truely enjoying everything, delicious mimosas and our entrees. Service was going very well. The place is adorable and very classy. We were enjoying the experience we were having this fine Sunday and talking about how we need to bring our families and friend here so they could enjoy this place too. Then BAM, things went downhill. The nervous looking young hostess came by and told us how there was another party waiting for our table, just so we could be aware. We weren't even finished with our meal and our mimosas. And we were looking forward to the desert. When the waiter came by, we ordered desert anyway. Then another staff came by and asked us if our hostess had let us know about the time limit on our table when we were seated, we clearly were not. In my 30+ years of eating out in my life all around the world , this is the first time a restaurant has put a time limit on the table. This place has everything going for it, it may want to rethink this policy. A horrific policy to screw up the experience that people come into this kind of place looking for. read more

We visited for the first time on April 13. Date night with my wife. We had an amazing dinner - everything we tried was superb. The restaurant is small and occupies an historic church building in downtown Delafield. In this case small means intimate but not crowded. We had a group of three sitting right next to us (1 foot?) and didn't hear a word they said - surprisingly good acoustics for this church building. We had Baked Brie to start based on Yelp reviews - it did not disappoint: perfectly baked cheese with a strawberry purée on toast. Entrees were pan salmon and tenderloin filet. Steak was done perfectly and tasted great. Salmon was very fresh and just enough crisp. The sauces accompanying both dishes were just out of this world good. We shared a Brussels sprouts side with bourbon glaze that was also excellent. NY cheesecake for dessert with strawberry purée on top. Service was excellent and attentive. We will be back for sure and hopefully soon. read more
