I've read the three reviews and can only comment on our experience. This was a government contracted move and we get assigned to the moving company. We lived in a 3B/3.5b townhouse. Special note: This was our first experiences with movers and on this scale.
FRIDAY: They stopped by to assess the job and drop off packing supplies. The lead Maria introduced herself, did a walk through of what was needed to be done. She marked the " Do not pack areas". To make it easier for everyone involved I was able to section off a bathroom and closet. They also instruct you to remove anything on the wall ; frames, mirrors, clocks , TVs, the brackets . Then they pack.
MONDAY: Four ladies showed up and literally packed up everything in 4.5 hrs. If they weren't sure about something they asked. If I had a question, I asked. The lead Maria also walked around and triple checked areas to see if they missed anything. I tried to do the same. It's my stuff so why wouldn't I ?
TUESDAY: Three men came with the moving truck. They were polite and they did the heavy lifting. It took them six hours. There was one small glitch with a couple of bigger items and today's lead Maura ( along with hubster's calls) we were able to work it out.
UNDERSTAND: In order to have a successful experience make sure you understand what can be shipped and what is not allowed.
Pre-inventory your high value things and take pictures. A lot of pictures.
We also chose to pre pack some of our items as we had kept the boxes. That was our choice.
Overall, I stayed at the house all day while they packed and I was pretty impressed with it all. read more
