Walked in and tried to ask if seating was open or if we had to be seated by staff. We were told to sit wherever we'd like and the waiter would come to our table. Since we've been seated, they have not cleaned any of the tables in between customers and the table we chose to sit at (to space between other customers) still had onions on the table and wasn't wiped down. I thought the waiter would wipe it down, but he just simply placed the menus on the table and asked if we needed a few minutes. I ended up wiping the table top with my own wipes I had with me. The food was decent, but not sure if we'd ever dine in here again. read more

Not being too experienced with Lebanese food, I was a little skeptical coming here. Our server, (whom I think is the owner) Julie, was amazing. Just enough sass but friendly enough to know she was trying have a good time, I loved it! The food was beyond amazing! So fresh and savory! Will be coming back any time I'm in town! read more

The food is wonderful!!! I tried the Mixed Shawarma it came with rice and a salad. Everything they brought out was flavorful. Wow, best food I've had in a while! I loved everything, I would highly recommend this place. read more

This place was phenomenal. Glad it was recommended by someone. Parking is a bit of an issue, especially the way the curb is set up and how small the lot is, you may want to park and walk over. read more

What in the world do they whip the hummus with? Angel wings? Wow! I've never had lighter or creamier hummus anywhere, including when I make it at home. Their tabouleh is great as is the salmon, vegetarian stuffed grape leaves, baba ganoush, falafel, and fattoush salad- basically everything I've ordered there on numerous visits. The atmosphere is modest, chaotic and brightly lite- all fine- my only complaint is the bucket of harsh liquid chemicals sitting around that they keep the rags to clean the tables in. We had to move tables because we could smell the strong chemicals. They probably shouldn't clean tables with something so obviously toxic. As I said, that is my only complaint. Don't let it deter you- hopefully they'll just read this and use something else. read more

I really wanted to love this place. I placed a to go order an hour before closing and the food quality was atrocious. My Super Kafta wrap with lamb was so oily it seeped profusely and disintegrated on contact, contained only three small pieces of lamb and was otherwise stuffed with VERY spiny, course greens - mint, and half a ton of parsley. The flavor of the hummus and lamb together was good, but the wrap bread was clearly old as well. I also got mozzerella sticks and fries but the fries were flaccid. About as crispy as soup, and not salted whatsoever. Inedible and disappointing. I was shocked to find only 4 mozzerella sticks in the tray that I paid $6 for, and the cheese wasn't even melted fully on the inside. I truly wish I'd had a better experience because the flavor in the wrap was actually good. When I picked up my order I was not greeted by the older white woman fussing around the counter. She then bossed around the other young woman at the counter quite rudely while she was ringing me out. Bad attitude :( read more

The vegetables are so fresh and the portions are huge for the price! Love this little place, always order take out when I'm in town.

Beirut you are still my favorite!!! Awesome food. I know I had to wait but your driver was very nice. You guys never fail to give great and quality food! read more

Great food, very good service, fair prices, within walking distance of many hotels near the airport. I tried the vegetarian Beruit appetizer platter and my husband had the raw kibbee. He, an experienced raw kibbee connoisseur, LOVED it! Mine was very tasty. Our waiter, a younger man, had a fun disposition and seemed to enjoy chatting up regular customers. Well worth a visit if you enjoy middle eastern food. read more

What ever seasoning the put on the chicken shawarma is fantastic. The are a little slow but it's not too bad. I wish they had a fresh baked pita bread. read more

Tried this place out for the first time and was blown away! When we sat down at the table we had pita waiting for us. We didn't know it got unlimited refills, which we loved because we got the hummus. Mmmm so delicious!! When we both ordered water, she brought us a pitcher, which I liked a lot because then we never had to ask for refills. My boyfriend also got the mango juice that was made fresh and tasted like perfection. I ordered the shawarma and he got the beef shawarma platter. Both tasted great! I admit that I am more of a fan of the chicken than the steak, but that's how I am w all Mediterranean food. On top of the amazing quality of the food, the service was excellent. The server was attentive and very quick. Polite too. And the food came out quick and hot. I can't think of a single thing I didn't like about my experience. I will be coming back time and time again! read more

So good! Always try and go when I'm I'm town! Got the baklava tray to share with my crew and the sampler appetizer plate was more than enough for my dinner, had some left over for a snack the next day. read more

I had the mixed grill a small side of grape leaves and to be honest so many other small samples of things the owner thought I should try that I can't begin to name. While there was some food I over others, everything was great and lacked no quality. As for the service, not once did I have the opportunity to fill my own glass of water or ask for a refill on the soda as this was done without hesitation before it was needed. I was never rushed and multiple questions I had about the menu were answered with friendly and informative hospitality. I wasn't sure what to think when I was told after sitting down I was in the best restaurant in the city but with what I have to compare it in my trips to DTW I haven't found a better combination of service and quality of food. There are many other things on the menu I look forward to trying, including the selection of raw juices and fruit Smoothies. On a side note, there were a variety of (very tasty) nuts in the entrees I had and the ever growing population of parents with children having nut allergies should be aware. read more

Terrific flavors and nice presentation. The schwarma plate had a huge portion of chicken and lamb and some really amazing plump rice with slivered almonds in it. Service can be a bit brusque but still friendly and attentive and mostly just trying to see to everyone's needs. Price isn't rock bottom but fully in line with the quality and amount of food you're getting. Highly recommend! read more

Food was excellent and delivery was early! I would not pass up this place if you're in the area or looking for delivery.

Food was delivered hot and tasty! Great stuff. The smoothie was awesome as well. Recommend the Beirut dinner for two. We added the stuffed cabbage as well. It would feed 3 easily and possibly 4. read more

The worst falafil sandwich ever. First they mislabeled the sandwiches and gave me the mixed shwarma meat. I' m a vegetarian - hate biting into a hunk of flesh. When I queried the waitress we had to unwrap and dig around my sandwich on a falafil hunt. The falafils had long ago seen the fryer, were cold, so since they weren't fresh I guess I should be happy I only got two. The tabbouli soaked the pita bread, made it a wet mess. This is the item I regularly order at Mid East restaurants. Rgret there wasn't time to take my guest, on a 2 hour layover, to any of the best places, with amiable staff and really fresh well made food. My friend was satisfied with their sandwich, even missing a bite, but I took care not to spit the meat back in. The only thing they have going for them is proximity to the airport and a captive audience. read more

I've eaten here before and enjoyed the food. On a recent trip to pick up my gf at the airport, we ordered food here and picked it up. The counter staff was rude to her in the restaurant and gave her the food. As we were pulling out of the parking lot, one of the staff came walked out to the car with another bag of food that evidently hadn't been put with the order earlier. She yelled at my girlfriend something about leaving before her order was ready. Astounded, we took the bag of food from her and then she snorted something about having to get back to her job with the rest of the customers. It didn't matter what the food tasted like at that point. Evening ruined. read more

Pretty good for middle eastern food. You get at least 3 portions on your plate. I will be definitely be returning if I'm in town. read more

Beirut Restaurant - Middle Eastern Near Me - Romulus, Michigan

After reading everyones review it appears that i am the only person that has had a different situation happen. on 11-3-11 i went to the location on Middlebelt near 94. I wanted to have something on the healthier side and i love middleastern food so while i was looking i saw the Beirut Restaurant. I was on my way to school to take an exam and needed something to not weigh me down or fall asleep during the exam. After entering the location everything seemed to be fine at first then i saw the prices and felt that this would be an idea location to bring someone to lunch. Very affordable and with familiar items. Grape Leaves being my favorite. I saw that they had a Salmon Shwarma which sounded like somthing up my alley! It said it had steamed vegetables but was not specific on which. I stood at the counter to place my order and a girl with a sweatshirt that said "Love Pink" asked if she could take my order. I later found out her name was something like Alayah. Her body language was one as if i was interupting or disturbing her day and there was absolutely no eye contact at all concerning my order. I ordered a half order of grape leaves and asked her what kind of vegetables was in the salmon shwarma. The next event really pissed me off. Almost to the point that i was going to walk out. Knowing i had not eaten and needed nutrition for the exam i endured. She responded to my question with this comment " it says it on the menu, you just have to read the menu". I replied "actually it does not" then pointed to her. She listed the vegetables and i asked her if i could request no mushrooms. Pissed i gave her my charge card and she put the pen and reciept on the counter and walked away. After signing i put the pen on top of the reciept then it fell off the edge of the counter where she sat it. i waited at least 15-20 min. for my food. Which is pretty normall if it is good. The part that frustrated me even more is that when my food came up a guy picking up phone in order came in and his order was right next to mine, unbagged and unpaid for, the same lady took his payment, bagged his food, and gave him his order. After this i determined that if the food was horrible i would return and ask for a refund. She bagged my order, asked if i wanted bread, which i said i did not, put the bread in my order anyway and told me to have a nice day. Normally i would be out the door on the first issue. But being hungry i endured. I began to eat the grape leaves which i am used to them being on the chilled side. They were warm which changed the taste for me. After 1 i left them alone. I started on the Shwarma. This was the best Shwarma i have had and if the mushrooms were on them it would have destroyed the sandwich for me. I would like to return to get that sandwich again but will not due to her attitude/poor customer service. I called back to ask for the manager 20min after i left to tell how rude she was. She picked up the phone and i was told that there was no manager on duty and i could leave a message. I asked "who was in charge" she said no one that i could leave a message. Yeah Right! I called after class later that evening and a person by the name of Hassein said he was the manager and had been there all day. I told him the situation and he appologized. He explained that grape leaves normally are served warm at their store. After i tried the grape leaves again on my way home the did taste the same. It was the chill factor. He asked me to come back but i told him that i was in the neighborhood and dont know when i will be back but wanted to make sure someone knew about his employee. Im not even sure if he was the manager. I was hoping to take someone there because of the prices and after that treatment i wont be back even though the food was soooo good! Not worth it! read more

This was slate night run in Detroit, we gave up our seats on a flight they gave us an extra night with hotel included so of course you get hungry and want to eat and right next to the hotel was this place. Very friendly staff, it's a family ran business, you can tell by seeing how the staff interact but it was still professional. I order Mediterranean wings and lamb. Now let me tell you, the Mediterranean wings are definitely the dish to get! Wow! They take a little longer to cook and prepare but they are definitely worth the wait! The lamb was cooked perfectly but lacked seasoning, I appreciate the char taste from the grill but that was all the flavor I got, cooked great but needed seasoning and the Greek salad was good, right amount of lemon and olive oil so I enjoyed it very much, if you're in the area I would recommend you go and check it out! read more

The food was incredible. Very authentic and hand made ingredients. My wife and I tried the chicken Schwarma wrap, the fatoosh salad was incredible with the wonderful feta on top. Then we finished it off with fresh baklava out of the oven. Fantastic. Highly recommend! read more

Tucked away between a Holiday Inn, a liquor store, and another restaurant is Beirut Restaurant. This fast paced ordering may seem a little off but only because they crank out orders nonstop. The menu is easy to select from with pictures of some of the dishes. I ordered my go to dish again the Chicken Shawarma plate with fries and a salad. I should have ordered the smaller plate because I for got how larger the portions are. It's similar to family style at Italian restaurants. The soft tender chicken was full of flavor and so delicious. The have pitas at the table to eat with your meal. I'm glad I got to eat here again while in town. read more

I'm not a big expert in Middle Eastern food but I know the basics. This is a small diner-like place in a strip mall. One waitress, not particularly fast but very friendly. I stopped in for dinner and had the lamb kabob for $14, comes with rice or fries and a large salad. There is a little bag of pita bread already on the table. The kabob was tender and charbroiled, delicious. Not too many diners but lots of regulars stopping in for takeout. Good place to go for a quick meal with no fuss. Good value. read more

Amazing restaurant with great food. The food never disappoints just at times they charge extra for somethings and sometimes they dont charge extra for things. Also it's a Muslim owned restaurant with majority all Muslim workers so not sure why this was just one of the few restaurants closed on Christmas day. That was a disappointment read more

Staying next store at the Holiday inn Express, wanted a quick and easy dinner before retiring early for an O Dark 30 flight in the morning. Saw good reviews on Yelp, not familiar with Lebanese food but was feeling adventurous. Very friendly staff/owners and very nice and attentive waitress. I asked for her recommendation and ordered it - mixed grill (chicken & beef) with vegetables, buttered rice and crushed lentil soup. Oh my! Delicious, and a lot of food for one person. Delicious, adventurous food that I would highly recommend. The owners take pride in their restaurant and food, and rightfully so. You won't be disappointed. read more

Really impressed with the food. The tabouli salad was one of the best I've ever had. The hummus and baba ganoush were so creamy and light. I had the lemon sautéed shish tawook entree on the advice of our server, who I believe was also the owner. It was excellent. The chicken was perfectly tender and juicy. My friend and I were very happy with this spur of the moment choice! Would definitely revisit the next time I'm in Detroit. read more

On a trip between YOB and ATL we stopped at DTW for a little layover. Given that my parents are super awesome, they picked us up and took as to Beirut to enjoy some fine Romulus, MI cooking! This place is in between Holy crap awesome --- to ummm why are we listening to Eminem. Pros: The food is fantastic. It is cheap and plentiful. The variety of food is definitely there and you can nearly select every single thing in different quantities. There were a lot of vegan choices and that made me a happy panda. Cons: The service was so so. The teens running the place were more into jamming to their music and getting to-go orders to get us more water and bread. It could be that they were forced to work there by their parents, but they did not seem to be enjoying their time. Understandable, but sort of unacceptable. All in all, this place is good with potential. The food is great and plentiful (lots of leftovers). However, the service is not so good and they play Detroit's latest hits instead of Lebanese Top 100. read more

This was debatable and wish yelp had .5's...The meal was pretty basic but I really didnt give it a chance w/ my order. Falafel wrap and buttered rice. They give you lots of food for the $8 it cost me. For lil munchies they give you two different types of pita and both were nice while waiting. Being close to the airport allowed me to stop at this place prior to catching my flight. The wrap was fresh and good. Wasnt the best Falafel Ive ever had, but I appreciated it. I do have to be honest it did take longer than I expected for an easy sandwich to be made. The rice was well exactly what it sounds like. Its def, buttered rice. lol Butter and rice w/ some sliced nuts, Im guessing almonds, but dont quote me on that. The crunch gave some nice texture to the rice. Overall, place was semi busy, serving food that you can afford but you may have to wait a while... read more

I struggled with what to score this. The service was terrible. The lady in charge was yelling loudly at the employees and all the orders were crazy messed up. Every person there was gruff and seemed annoyed I came in. I expect a little of this in middle eastern restaurants but nothing like this. I was just uncomfortable. They were having cc issues so some slack could be cut but it was not being handled well. To top it off I tried to pay with cash and they took like 4 other people before me even though I was standing right there. (Service 1/5) My food was also really over cooked. I ordered the mixed grill with rice and the meat was super dry and tough. It had great spicing and I can see why people would like it if it was cooked well. The redeeming part of the meal was the rice. Big almond slices and spices were great. (Food 3/5 coulda been a 5 on a different night) I am going to chock my experience up to a bad night for them and maybe give them a 2nd try the next time I'm in town, but to be honest this one experience sucked. read more

Best meal of the week. Tilapia, hummus, baba ganoush, fries, and lamb stew. So much food and so much yum. I tried the carrot Apple fresh made juice and it was very tasty. I loved the service. Got a mixed-grill shawarma sandwich for takeout right after deplaning down the road at DTW, but I wish I'd eaten in. Not because the place is especially remarkable, but because the the owner and the boys working there are endearing characters--warm, friendly, funny, and entertaining, without intruding if you just want a meal to yourself. Though if I'd stayed, I would've ordered a fresh juice and some baklava, and I didn't need the calories. The shawarma itself was delish. Not spicy, but full of flavor in no small part due to the copious amounts of garlic and onion. As good as any shawarma I've had in the actual city of Beirut. If you're looking for a great meal on the way/to the airport or when you're staying at one of the airport hotels, Beirut is a solid choice. read more

Smh... 36$ gone down the drain.. No flavor!!! Ordered three chicken sharwama's, green beans, garlic sauce. and a fattoush salad. Only thing we enjoyed was the green beans and garlic spread.
