It's nice to finally get a Chinese restaurant in Buda! This place just opened and we tried it for take out. Food was delicious, fresh and piping hot. The fried rice was especially good when compared to most standard Chinese restaurants. There are about 12 tables and it looks like they are working on adding a bar. I was really looking forward to trying Beijing Bistro! The high prices for the lunch specials surprised me. These are more like dinner specials. The soup arrived in a teacup sized bowl. Literally. It tasted fantastic. No complaints on the quality of the food here, and the staff was very attentive. My lunch arrived, and it was so cute and gourmet looking. Meaning, it was tiny. Little. I'm a small sized woman, and I left hungry. Again, the food was very fresh and lovely, but there was barely anything on the plate. The egg rolls are strange, like they are filled with soft onions. My husband, son, and I visited Beijing Bistro today for lunch. The food was delicious and the customer service was great. We had Chicken Delight, General Tso Chicken, &Sweet and Sour Chicken. We just finished a fine meal from Beijing Bistro. We order delivery from them quite a bit, and this is the first time we failed to receive a correct delivery. Our crispy wonton noodles were missing. I called the restaurant to let them know about the mistake, and they rushed an order to our house. That's customer service! I came here today with my mom and my friend Izabella. We started off with soup and egg rolls. The soup was very tasty and fresh Aswell as the egg rolls. The combination rice was hot when it came out and the rice was well cooked and the meat mixed was soft. The sesame chicken was well cooked but could be more sweet. The sweet n sour chicken was great I suggest it if you really care for chicken nuggets. Over all I say the food came out pretty fast and the service was good. Great food dinner is too expensive for family dining. Portions are smaller than one would expect and do not reflect with how much one would typically expect to pay at similar establishments. We've eaten here 3 times and the last time we ate here we paid the same price as if we would have gone out to eat in Downtown Austin. We paid roughly $60 for a family of four (of which two are 3 and 5) and they shared a plate because there is no kids menu and no kid prices drinks. I wouldn't mind paying what we paid if the portions were larger however a lunch size portion of entree plus a scoop of rice does not equal the price associated. Overall great food but We will have to drive a little extra out of the way to afford the same quality. If we would have spent mid $30-40 that would have been about right in my opinion. Lunch special is a pretty good deal. Management and staff are very personable and have been known to throw in an extra item here and there which is great customer service. Now if we can only make it a little more affordable to eat dinner we would be there weekly. read more

I had higher hopes for this place. Recently moved into this area and was excited to have a Chinese food place fairly close. Finally got the chance to go today for a late lunch. There was only 1 table of customers, but it was late, so I didn't let that worry me. The owner was VERY attentive. I explained that I had not been there and asked for his recommendation. He suggested the Triple Delight, I think..I told him that I enjoy my Asian food very hot. Like crazy hot. He said they could make it extra spicy for me. Food was finished fairly quickly and looked good. Headed home excited for the meal. Not only was the food not at all spicy, like I even used the cup of hot chili oil he sent with me, and there was really no spice at all. Further, the food itself was really bland. The veggies tasted fresh, but everything lacked seasoning and flavor. The brown sauce was watery and loose...not thick. The eggroll was fine. The hot and sour soup was alright. So, I may try it again at some point. But more likely that I'd go in the other direction and go to IM Thai instead. read more

The kind of place you'd drive right past and not know it's there, so I'm glad I saw a local ad. Their menu has a little more variety than I expected. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Hubz had a chicken curry, which they were happy to spice up for him, and I had green beans sauteed in ginger and garlic. We both had the egg drop soup, which was great. They saw my gluten free soy sauce, said they have several gluten friendly options and recommended some things they were proud of that weren't on the menu. We'll definitely be back. read more

My husband and I ate there last night for the first time and will be our last time. Although the owner/ manager was very pleasant when greeting us, once we got our food that's where the pleasantness ended. I ask if they had low sodium soy sauce and was told they did and he would be right back with it. Well I waited, tried to get his or another staff members attention, but they all seem to have tunnel vision. Surely not team players. A good thirty minutes passed, when he finally came back and saw that I still hadn't hardly touched my meal. Well. He was shocked when I told him he dropped the ball and blamed it on his phone ringing of the hook. Note: he didn't have any trouble greeting new diners coming in the door and taking their order, out taking their food out to their tables while I still waited for low sodium soy sauce. Also, I agree with another review that said something about a sauce leaving an after taste in my mouth. We ordered a 4 PC veggie egg rolls but after one bite I could tell that these are not freshly made and left a terrible taste in my mouth. Hubby said his lemon chicken wasn't all that good and the sauce is just lemon and pineapple juice. We did tell the owner how he needs to change his service, and we won't be back. I eat here a couple times a month. The quality and the freshness of the food used to be really good. Unfortunately, the past month or so the quality and freshness has gone down. The combination fried rice is not fresh and the rice looks "hard" on apperance and the taste is bland. I hopeful hat this was only going to occur on the one occurance but it has happened a couple of times. Just tried this place for the first time today. And yes, I agree its not the cheapest Chinese food around. And yes, the egg rolls and even the won ton soup are just ok, but jeez, people, if you are going to rate a place on a side dish alone, or that its not as cheap as Panda Express, I suppose you should probably stick to Panda Express. Having said that, let me start my review. I ordered online for pick up. I did speak with the owner and he said he would deliver if you request it and he's not too busy. I live less than a mile away, so for me its fairly easy to go by and pick up, but I opt for delivery most of the time if its available. The place has only been open a few months, and it seems clean and inviting. I ordered the Sauteed Trio Combo (13.95) and added Soup and egg roll for 2.00 more. So, 15 and change for one person....again, not your Panda Express prices, so I would expect a better experience for the extra moula. Food was great, very hot (temp), tasty(although next time ill ask for a little more spicy, I asked for medium this time), and overall, I didnt mind parting with my 15 duckettes for the food. Yes, the egg rolls werent all that great, so guess what? Next time I wont add the soup or egg roll. Soup I just tasted for the review...not bad, but I was full from the rest of the food. I will definitely make this a regular place to eat. Its right next to my liquor store, so yes, very convenient. Delivery will make it that much easier to order dinner for kids when I have them, and I dont have to cook! One pet peeve I did notice when I went to pick up my order. The owner was mopping the floor while his employees were standing around texting on their cell phones. Now, Im not sure why he was mopping, maybe hes a control freak, I dont know. And the pet peeve isnt that he was doing the mopping...it was the fact that the "girls" he had working there were texting on the phone, and one even made a call while she was obviously not on break. So, to the owner, grow a back bone, and have a policy of NO cell phones while on duty. The only thing that allowing employees to have cell phones out does is lower customer service, distract employees, and it looks completely unprofessional. Finally a cute and yummy little restaurant comes to this area of Buda. My folks live pretty close to here and highly recommended we stop by, so we went today for lunch while we were in town. The place is pretty small but well appointed- well lit, very clean, and comfortably decorated. Excellent excellent service- the gentleman that greeted us when we arrived (the owner/manager I'm guessing), also checked on us several times during our meal, and recommended the chicken and shrimp in hot pepper sauce to me, which I really enjoyed. My husband got the Orange chicken and his was very tasty as well. My son was sharing between the two of us and the nice man brought him a free egg roll and side of rice like what came with our dishes. Really a nice and thoughtful touch. I had egg drop soup, which was good but hubs and my kiddo both got wonton soup, which was so so tasty. Really yummy clear broth with one wonton, which is pretty standard in my opinion of a lunch sized soup. Prices are maybe $1-$2 more per plate then in Austin but I completely understand the price point. The food arrived very hot and very fresh. Right next door there is a liquor store, and an interesting note is that right now they are byob! I would not hesitate for a second to grab a bottle of wine or a sixer and head over for a tasty meal. If we lived in the area we would be regulars and my guess is that everyone in the neighborhood will be soon! P.S. I love the staff, the owner is always there and make sure everything is working fine. And yes I agree with the reviews sometimes food does not taste the same, I am a regular and I have notice, but they are always willing to work with you request and to make you as a costumer happy. If you call in advance 5-10 minutes food will be waiting for you, to eat there o take it out. My kids also enjoy the delivery service. If you go there and do not enjoy the food please talk to the owner before you give a bad review... you will be surprise how many food options he has that are not on the menu...I love the Kung Pao Chicken and Shrimp. read more

Placed an online order at 1200. Called immediately after and asked for the order to be delivered at 6 PM. Explained that I was sending a meal to health care worker as a thank you. The person on the phone said this would be no problem. Texted the family only to find out the food was not delivered. I called the restaurant around 615 and was told my order was in line to be cooked. I called back and spoke with the manager. He told me that they were backed up with orders and he will get to it. No apology, no urgency, no priority to fix the problem. Just gave me the option of waiting in line or canceling my order. I was trying to show appreciation to a health care worker and support a local business. If you are looking to do the same, pick another restaurant. I will say i was excited to see a new Chinese restaurant was opening in the area, but i was disappointed greatly. Fried rice taste like old rice puffs and was flavorless. The dishes we tried were general tso and beef and broccoli. I have tasted better Chinese from the frozen food isle. The sauce left a nasty aftertaste lingering. I live down the street from Beijing Bistro in the Whispering Hollow Neighborhood. I have eaten there twice once getting the Sesame Chicken and once getting the Chicken Lo Mein and both times I was happy with the food. The restaurant is small but clean and was a nice place to eat. There was nothing that stood out to make it 5 star, but the only criticism was I felt my portion was a little smaller that what I am accustomed to. I think if you are looking for the typical American Chinese food you will not be disappointed with Beijing Bistro! read more
