They have the best buttery Bon for a lobster roll and Atlanta heads down, and I had to get a shirt to go with it when I left the service is also awesome. The price is reasonable for the portion of lobster that they put on the roll read more

Meh at best, limited menu that isn't impressive. I decided on the stew and it promised all the fish on the menu but it felt like the stew was flavored with the taste of the fish and the shrimp are not the same shrimp they use in the shrimp and rice dish. Best part of the meal, green beans and the chocolate cake. I was going to get fish and chips, another time perhaps! read more

Oyster selection and quality was great. Not much options on the dinner menu. The server Elijah was kind and attentive.

My friend and I were craving oysters and while theyre are multiple spots who do a similar oyster happy hour, BeetleCat's happy hour on Mondays go from 5ish to close! This is great for people who cant get out of work and get to restaurants in time for the usual 4-6 hh deals! I will say because of this said deal it was very very busy and service was fairly slow but it was still very yummy and the servers were super nice and apologetic about the long wait times. we started out trying 1 of each of the beetlecat flagged oysters there were only 4 that were $1. Usually we dont like one at all but we actually liked them all and they were all different but none tasted like they came from the sea in a bad way! My favorite was the Cavendish oysters because it was full firm meat and super filling! It came with crackers, a yummy dill and champagne sauce as well as horseradish cocktail mixture. q My boyfriend doesnt eat seafood so he got the twice fried chicken wings and love them. ( if you like sweet and tangy this are for you but beware they are messy!) I also got the conch fritters bc the wait was so long for the oysters. I am not sure if i would orders those again as they tasted more just like generic hush puppies and didnt have too much conch in them! All in all, I would definitely recommend everyone to come try out this happy hour deal and if you cant make it monday they also do this during the week during regular happy hour hours read more

I love well-themed restaurants! My wife and I dined in their lower "Den", which certainly looked like the interior of a ship. We learned a Beetlecat is a small sailboat, so no something that's fitting per se for a large restaurant, but still a fun nautical theme. We don't normally go to seafood restaurants but this was fantastic. Honestly, we chose the place based on the cocktail menu and boy did that deliver! Especially the Spring Rum Old Fashioned. Yum. For dinner we split dishes: the Steelhead Trout Poke, which was so good I wish I hadn't split it. The Moqueca Stew, which tasted very Thai, was lovely. And, the Salt and Pepper Squid, which was fried seafood yumminess. We honestly were blown away by the creativity with the dishes and flavours. Would definitely go sailing again with Beetlecat and perhaps try out the brighter upstairs level, though the dimmer Den was cozy. read more

After traveling all day to make it Atlanta, my friends and I sat down to a sumptuous meal What I ate: - Oysters, I can't remember exactly which ones I had, but they were delicious bites. - Okonomiyaki: This was definitely not a traditional okonomiyaki, but it still tasted delicious. Definitely on the heartier side - Fried rice: This was also a hearty dish, but bring on the carbs. Really tasty to share with the table. - Red fish: We ordered this on the recommendation of our server, and he was right, this was pretty amazing. The red fish was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and still tender on the inside. - Broccoli: This was just our table's way to trying to get some veggies in. While it was cooked perfectly, it's pretty much exactly what you would expect, but it was still nice to have some greens with such a carb heavy meal. - Blue crab noodles: This was probably my favorite dish of the night. Super buttery, delicious sweet crab. But definitely decadent. I would suggest sharing this with the table, because it's almost too rich to finish. - Radicchio: Again, another veggie dish to help round out all the carbs that was ordered. This was bright and vinegary, great way to eat the bitter radicchio - Salt and pepper calamari: Our server was super kind in giving us this extra dish, but it was a bit forgetful after getting all those other great dishes. There was nothing wrong with this dish, the calamari was well seasoned and salty, but you really do need to eat it quick, as the breading gets soggy and limp. - Conch fritters: I think these were more fritter than conch but no complaints. It was a great way to start off the meal, the cornbread was full of flavor, but I really couldn't taste much of conch. - Mussels: Okay, it's all about that soupy sauce that the mussels came in. This came with 2 huge slabs of perfectly toasted bread, and our table quickly devoured the bread by sopping up that delectable sauce. The mussels were delightful nuggets but the sauce was the true star. We loved it so much that we even asked for more bread. - Coconut pie: This was probably one of the best coconut pies I've had. I'm a bit on the fence with coconut, I like it toasted, but not the weird gummy untoasted version that seems popular in America. This was not like that at all, in fact the coconut flavor was rounded and paired nicely with the flaky crust. Pros: - The food was sooooo good. Everything was tasty and well cooked. My local friends have been here before and they were happy to see that the menu items change periodically to keep things interesting. - Staff was super friendly and courteous. People bringing out the food was friendly and helpful about explaining each dish that came out - Seafood forward. I liked that the menu had a bit of everything but this is definitely a seafood restaurant. I loved that they had an oyster bar and a nice variety to chose from - Full bar - Pretty restaurant. It was classy without being too stuffy or formal. Great for date night! - Plenty of space for all parties, large or small. There was a long bar seating for the lone diner, as well as a patio area. But I say, bring friends so you can order a lot and share Cons: - While staff was friendly, sometimes they were a bit difficult to get a hold of, especially when I wanted another drink. Not a biggie. But this is definitely the type of meal you slowly luxuriate over. - Parking is mostly street parking in this area, though I think there is a parking garage nearby - Not cheap, BUT you definitely get what you pay for. Would I come again? If I was in the area, yes! read more

came here for a date night dinner, but realized that the interior felt more of a diner, which might make it less of a "date-appropriate" location. biggest gripe i had was that the prices were way too high for what we got, the oysters specifically weren't anything special but were incredibly expensive. biggest takeaways were the tuna tartare and salmon (not pictured). to this day i don't think i've had salmon that good, highly recommend! read more

I got chewed out by the hostess at 1:30 PM March 27th in the downstairs bar. While she was looking at finding us a table, I said to my wife if they can't find us a seat we can go to Hampton and Hudson. The hostess got offended saying that's not the way to talk to someone that is finding you a seat. I should help someone else and left us, so we left. This host shouldn't be in service industry. Throughout my three years living in Atlanta, BeetleCat was the only restaurant that had no dip in quality post covid, and may have even gotten better. I probably ate here every other month and didn't have a single negative experience. Their fish house punch is one of my favorite cocktails of all time, their burger is insane, their oyster selection is excellent, and their wings never disappoint. My only negative about BeetleCat is that their menu is rotating, so you might have to say goodbye to a favorite. That being said, whatever gets rotated in is also delicious, and will make you forget about the dish you lost. I moved from Atlanta over half a year ago, and whenever my girlfriend and I have a negative restaurant experience we both say "remember BeetleCat?" and think about how much better our meal would've been there. This is a must visit in Atlanta. read more

BeetleCat! I enjoy coming here for a date night spot, birthday dinner, or whenever I am craving a lobster roll. I came here recently to celebrate a birthday dinner, and I left very satisfied once again. The service was good and our food did not disappoint! We ordered a variety of oysters and the fry bread to share -- fry bread was really good, it had nori seasoning with honey butter. For the main, I ordered fish and chips -- the fish was tender and soft, and the fries were well-seasoned! I am looking forward to trying their other menu items, so will be coming back! read more

This was a nice restaurant the food was great and the atmosphere was dope! Service was great as well!

If you're fantasizing about ocean waves but can't make it to the shore anytime soon, I recommend setting sail for BeetleCat in Inman Park. I made a reservation through OpenTable to try out BeetleCat's donut brunch. I was actually more focused on the lobster roll than the donuts though. The lobster roll (market price, $30 [ouch] on the day I had it) was deserving of its accolades. Several pieces of plump lobster were contained between a well-buttered and well-toasted hamburger bun. A light swipe of aioli was added but nothing much else. I know there are camps on which kind of lobster rolls is better: butter or mayo but with BeetleCat's version, you don't have to decide! And theirs also omits celery which I dislike in a lobster roll. The included homemade vinegar chips were tangy and dusted with Old Bay (I believe). Yum. The waffle fries ($5) were huge and a classier and more tanned version of Chick-fil-A's. I'm actually not a huge donut devotee, but my tablemates really seemed to like their selections. I guess I was expecting more airy donuts, Krispy Kreme-style, than the pretty substantial ones served at BeetleCat. You can't beat a buck for the Plain Jane one! The Dad's Floral Shirt ($1.935) was pretty with its pastel fuchsia hue, and someone remarked it was like a donut you'd find on The Simpsons. The donut selection seems to rotate often. They certainly were fresh and seemed to be glazed just prior to serving. Service was terrific. Brenda was our server, and she cheerfully answered my questions. There was another woman who helped to quickly stabilize our wobbly table when we pointed it out to her. The only slight misstep was that our water glasses weren't refilled towards the end of the meal which often happens when you've already paid and are lingering I suppose. Ford Fry's joints are super stylish. To go with the nautical there, there were sails on the ceilings, rope-wrapped pillars, and sea blue accents. I liked the tattoo-style wallpaper in the restroom. And in case you're wondering, there were two single person restrooms. Parking can be challenging in the area due to the numerous popular restaurants, but usually you can find some free street parking not too far away. And there's a garage too. For The Optimist-lite, try BeetleCat out. read more

Atmosphere is great, but parking is a bitch. Tried coming a few weeks back but they were closed on Father's Day. The oysters, fried rice, lobster roll, and coconut pie were our favorites. Our server was the best and it seemed like all the wait staff were pretty squared away. Our waiter was a shorter Black guy with weeknd like hair. Embarrassed I forget his name but he was truly the best. Very attentive, very friendly, and cracking jokes the whole time. The food might not have been the best, it was still good, but he made the experience a 5 dinner. read more

Loved the lobster roll, and as a newbie to oysters, I really enjoyed what I had here. They had a huge variety, with through descriptions of each oyster, making it easier and less stressful trying to order. And they were good! Listen. When I tell you that BeetleCat's Lobster Roll changed my life, I am not kidding. Best $38 I have ever spent. If you have $38, spend it on this. I've been to New England many times. My dad is from just outside of Boston. I lived on the water in South Florida for 2 years. Never in my LIFE have I had lobster as delicious, melt-in-your-mouth, somehow fresh?????? (we're so far inland!), as I have at BeetleCat. I'm not sure what was in the aioli dolloped on top or what the bun was dipped in before grilling, but it was my gateway drug to BeetleCat addiction. Should I ever find myself in a scenario where I need to choose a last meal, BeetleCat's Lobster Roll is *IT.* Thanks for coming to my TED Talk, now on to the rest of the review :) My little crew of three had the first reservation of the day on Sunday for brunch. The interior space is stunning, but I requested to be seated outside because it couldn't have been a more beautiful morning. The restaurant is massive, each room boasting its own unique character. We sat on the patio on the lower level and were quickly greeted by our charming and charismatic server, Kevin. Kevin, if you're reading this, you are a delight. Thank you for the excellent service and for keeping us upbeat & laughing throughout our dining experience! We had 4 donuts to start. I'm not the world's biggest donut fan, but when I'm at a restaurant known for fresh, unique, homemade donuts, I'm obviously going to try them. We had: Mo Betta Blues (good but my least fave), The Dark Knight (delish, oozing with chocolate), Flan-Tastic (2nd place), and Donkey Kong (the undisputed winner). I might be a donut person now, but only at BeetleCat. TL;DR: GET THE LOBSTER ROLL. Kevin is a true gem. The donuts are delectable, even for a non-donut person. Space is stunning. Overall 12/10. read more

Really enjoyed my experience here over the weekend! From the moment my date and I walked in, service was absolutely spot on; starting with the hostess. We were promptly seated and taken care of by our waitress, Mackenzie. She was kind, attentive, and available for any questions we had. For starters, we tried the mussels, ceviche, and baked oysters. Everything came out fairly quickly and extremely fresh! Their ceviche has always been my top pic, but honestly, everything was delectable (the baked oysters are a veryyyyy close 2nd). We also tried the fried rice and fry bread, those are great choices too! The manager stopped by to check in on us, and made sure we enjoyed our time at the restaurant. For entrees we went with the lobster and flounder, both were absolutely phenomenal! Big thanks to the entire staff at Beetlecat for making this truly a 10/10 experience. I'll be back! read more

I came here tonight about 40 minutes until closing (so happy they still sat us!) I know some people don't like to come so close to closing due to quality of food but this place didn't disappoint. Here's the deal: Beetlecat is one of the best restaurants in the country and I'm willing to die on that sword. The vibes? Immaculate. Service? Friendly and prompt. Lobster roll? World renowned. Oysters? Flown in fresh weekly from PEI, ME, FL, VA, RI, NB, MA. This place simply DOES NOT MISS. If you have the choice, sit downstairs in "the den" where you'll feel cozy, 70s style vibes setting in as you head down the stairs. Nick, at the downstairs bar, makes an espresso martini so good you will literally ask him to slap you. I can't make this stuff up. Also, if you're not feeling seafood, fear not. Beetlecat subtly serves one of the best cheeseburgers in the city. There's truly something here for everyone. Do yourself a favor and make sure to book a reservation next time you're in the area - I guarantee you won't regret it! read more

Just dined at Beetlecat for probably the 30th time! Perfect casual date night spot with lots of seating options whether it be indoors / outdoors or downstairs in their den. And plenty of bar seating for a solo meal or group seating (party of 10ish). What we ordered this time & thoughts: - Raw oysters and baked oysters: both on point as always. Comes with their habanero sauce and provides the perfect spicy tang. The baked oysters have the perfect bread crumb topping. - Tuna Tartare: Came with this delicious sesame cracker, perfect spice/sweetness balance. Asian/Thai flavors. - Cucumber Caesar: I love cucumber salads and this was perfect. Right amount of dressing and cheese and perfect crunchy bites of garlic. - Spicy Fried Rice: This has great flavor, but for a party of two was too much to handle along with our next dish. I may pass on this next time unless I come with a big party. And it wasn't as spicy as you would think. - Moqueca Stew - This is my go to, and one of the items that is always on the menu. Love the cashews and broth with the rice. Lovely seafood dish. And we had leftovers! - Coconut Pie: Hands down one of my favorite pies I've consumed. We decided to take a slice home for dessert later. You can also buy the whole pie if you are with a bunch of people. read more

I am admittedly a very rare 5-star reviewer. But without a doubt it is consistently well-deserved at Beetlecat. Whether at the bar, seated inside or out (I strongly recommend outside regardless of whether since it is covered and a bit more roomy than inside) the very creative drinks and fantastic food are not to be missed. Easily the best lobster roll in the city, the rest of the menu is just as fresh and consistent, and even on a busy Friday or Saturday night they are staffed sufficiently to maintain good contact with your table. Something that can't be often said in the Highland's bars in general. read more

Busy busy busy but it is sure fun to be in the midst of the action. Hubby and I went prior to a birthday celebration and we split the lobster roll (small sandwhich) which is served room temperature and tasty, crab fried rice (has quinoa) is so amazing. I seriously have to figure out the ingredients and reproduce it. We left and came back with the rest of the party and found that there is a hangout in the basement of BeetleCat which happens to be a hot spot on Friday nights. It was so crowded. Server was not bad. There was room for improvement, but I believe that he was just waiting on too many tables and it showed. The second time around, I had to try some dessert and it was tasty. There was a bit of frosting in the middle of the cake. The cake itself was not that moist but it was still good. Would I go back? Yes I would, maybe for some oysters:) read more
