10/10 I have no idea why I only ordered 6 oysters and ended up ordering 4 more to keep it even. The oysters are amazing and the service was absolutely awesome. The dining experience looks pretty fancy but you can dress casual as I did and many other people did as well. read more

we arrived before they opened as we were traveling through Atlanta. The host and staff were amazing and we sat outside on a great evening. Our server Gary was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Review from a visit end of July that I have been putting off. Came here with a friend who had been here before. Maybe we were imagining things but it felt like the waitress wasn't really interested in serving us but could be that she was just lost in her thoughts. Regardless, the food was ok. The oysters were pretty good. The hamachi was refreshing and light. The mussels were fine but a little on the salty side. I usually like to drink the sauce it comes in because it's so flavorful but this one was just too salty to have on its own. Overall, had a fine time, but probably not a must-go for me. read more

Who Orders 5 Lobster Me!! They've come hot before but for some reason it came to the table cold! We came to start off our mini bar/restaurant crawl in the neighborhood (highly recommend this btw) and it was nice! The fried bread truly was delicious (albeit a little oily), the crudo was delicious as were the oysters, and I enjoyed my drink. We felt slightly awkward because we only ordered appetizers but we figured it was ok because it was before the dinner rush, they weren't busy at all at the time, and we only stayed for about 30ish minutes... the staff didn't say anything rude but didn't make us feel comfortable about not ordering entrees either, if that makes sense? Idk might just have been my interpretation of it, but that's how I felt, so we ended up sort of rushing just to leave. Despite this, I did enjoy the food and the ambiance so might go back for a full meal at some point! read more

Came here with a group of 7 to celebrate a birthday - it was a great time! Our server was super friendly and really helpful when selecting good drinks and items to order. I got the Moqueca Stew and it was good! I'm not a huge seafood person, so I think this is a safe order for someone that wants something not "fishy". After a visit to the presidential library near by we were starving. This place was close by and did we hit the jackpot? YES Great ambiance with lots of natural light. Friendly and curious staff. So we all know the lobster roll is iconic. Insider tip: get the spicy lobster knuckles and use that sauce to dip the last bits of your lobster roll in.... perfection! Now what I didn't know is that their burger and fries are also top of the charts and can go toe-to-toe with any burger in Atlanta to date. I literally had to go back three days later to get another order of burger and fries.. just to be sure! Service was super friendly when I went during the anniversary celebration, navigating the crowd like pros. This was my first dining in The Den, & I will say the tables were more than a little snug in the back of the restaurant, but cozy never hurt anybody. BeetleCat - A Cozy Seafood Spot Perfect for Date Night This past Friday evening, my date and I decided to check out BeetleCat, a seafood-focused restaurant nestled in Atlanta's Inman Park neighborhood. One of the first things we appreciated was the parking situation--there's a deck just down the street that costs only a few bucks per hour, making it super convenient. Upon arrival, we were seated immediately, with little to no wait time--a rare treat for a Friday night! We managed to get there right before the oyster happy hour ended (4-6 PM, Monday-Friday), so we decided to sample a few, even though we aren't huge oyster fans. We tried the Conway Royal, Duxbury Selects, WellFleet, and Roaring Point (all $4 each). Each raw oyster had a unique profile--some were medium-salted with a buttery finish, while others had a briny kick. They came with the usual accompaniments: crackers, hot sauce, and horseradish. While the freshness was undeniable, the texture just wasn't for me. But with a little help from the hot sauce and crackers, I powered through! Also worth noting--the oyster selection changes daily, so you never know what you might get. For my entrée, I went with the Fish & Chips ($28), which appeared to be beer-battered cod served alongside crispy, seasoned fries. The fish was piping hot, fresh, and had an amazing crunch, while the fries were the perfect side--not too greasy, just well-seasoned and satisfying. It also came with a trio of dipping sauces: dill, ketchup, and a malt aioli. That malt aioli? Absolutely delicious. To wash it all down, I opted for the Salty Dog Cocktail ($12), a refreshing blend of ruby red vodka, grapefruit, grapefruit bitters, and pink Himalayan salt. I was a bit worried about the grapefruit making it too bitter, but it was actually well-balanced--not overly strong, not too sweet, just right. Overall, BeetleCat delivered a great experience for a casual yet slightly upscale date night. The ambiance was lively but not overwhelming, the service was quick, and the seafood was fresh. While the dinner menu is somewhat limited compared to lunch, I'll definitely be back to explore more options. If you're a seafood lover--especially an oyster enthusiast--this spot is a must-visit in Atlanta! read more

Quality of food at Beetlecat has gone waaayyy down. Too bad, given how pricey it is. The Mocqueca (sp?) stew is not good anymore- oysters were only passable. I used to love the stew. I guess with prices spiking for everything, restaurants are having to cut the quality of their ingredients. Still, it cant be consumers who suffer if businesses want to stay popular. read more

PARKING (3/5): Street parking is tough during peak dinner times and especially weekends. Carpool if you can! Or walk the BELTLINE to get here, right off the path. They have a bar, plus indoor/outdoor seating, but I would consider this "loungy." A cute first date kinda place. SERVICE (4/5): I've always had excellent service everytime I come here. Keep up the great work! Kuddos. FOOD (4/5): $12 FRY BREAD: I've never had "fry bread" before, but this place made me obsessed! It's warm, sweet, salty, and crunchy. The perfect combination of flavors and textures. I'd much rather have this than a bread basket. MUST TRY! $24 MUSSELS: WOW! I'm pretty sure this is an appetizer, but I just ordered it as my meal and it was delightful! Buttery wine sauce, a ton of mussels, a tiny bit of spice and crispy bread to soak up all the sauce. Great to split between 2 people. $28 CRAB ROLL: although I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this crab roll, it is SO TINY. Is it a perfect portion for my tiny self? YES. But, it's small. You have been warned. I'd still order it because it's that good. Comes with fries. OVERALL (4/5): Love this spot. They check off all the boxes I'm looking for in a restaurant. The ONLY critique I have is how small the lobster roll and crab roll portions are. BUT to be fair, they pack in the meat! I will continue to remain a loyal customer until otherwise noted. Sometimes I just can't splurge for a weeknight $42 lobster roll. read more

The food was good but not a lot to choose from when we came. I went based on Atlanta foodies on IG but I should have investigated more because I was not happy with the selection. They literally put sliced American cheese on stuff like we are in kindergarten. We are at our big ages and want cheddar, Gouda, something grown up. Absolutely incredible experience and food. I am a seafood snob as I grew up in the Mediterranean and these dishes were absolutely delicious. Fresh and very well seasoned. I also enjoyed how different everything was, with the smoked dip and squid cooked differently to what I have seen before. Finally, that moqueca stew felt like a hug. Just delicious, similar to a yellow Thai curry. And the bread left us all in awe. Our waiter was very friendly and helped us decide what to get and how much and the place is very upscale in a beautiful neighborhood. Would love to go again before we leave Atlanta. read more

This place is so good! The upstairs is a little swanky and fancy, downstairs is more groovy with a 70s vibe. Each floor has a bar. There's limited street parking. Staff are friendly and attentive. The food is yummmy! Comfort seafood with the fixins with a little twist. We tried the fry break (kind of like a funnel cake with honey but also a little savory) and the salt and pepper squid (nice & salty, crispy, and complete with fried peppers) as apps and we're not dissapointed. They had some fun cocktails which were all tasty! We split the lobster roll, and with the two apps we're pretty full between the two of us. Lobster roll was pricy but fresh and tasty! Would get all that we ordered again, but next time we'll bring a crowd so we can try some other things! Will be back! read more

My lovely bride says this is her new favorite restaurant. The hostess was friendly and our server was sweet and accommodating. We visited BeetleCat during Christmas season - they deserve bonus points for the festive decorations. I ordered the six baked oysters, prepared like a light version of Oysters Rockefeller, and they were stellar. We were not drinking that night, so my lovely bride tried their Espresso Martini mocktail and then she had another one. I really liked the Purple Rain mocktail. She had the apple fennel salad, which is heavy on the apples, nicely dressed, and quite good. I had the enormous kale salad. Next time we go we will split a salad. I had the Hawaiian New York strip, perfectly cooked to medium rare, but a little too salty for my taste. The spicy shrimp with noodles is fantastic. My lovely bride had the fish & chips and finished it off. The desserts were divine - we would recommend the pineapple upside down cake and the sticky toffee pudding, each with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We will definitely return. read more

I've eaten here before and had great food and great service. I was disapointed by the timing of the food and lack of budding table. In the 1:45 we were there, there a total of 5 guests upstairs. I don't know if one server and trainer were the only servers there covering the bar downstairs as well. Apps and oysters pretty quick. Entrees came about 30- 40 minutes after apps were cleared. Spent free same 30-40 minutes looking at our dirty app plates. They were still there when the server arrived with entrees. Even good places have off nights. read more

I came here specifically for the lobster is a bit smaller for the price but i was delicious. I made reservations online however the restaurant was not busy when i arrived on Sunday afternoon. My party of 3 were sat downstairs. It was a bit chilly down there with the doors being opened for patio service so keep that in mind. Our server was nice she gave us recommendations which my friend chose the fried rice that was full of flavor and texture from the onions cashews and plantain and fry bread which was a sweet, savory and crispy combination. My other friend got the baked oysters which she really enjoyed as they were cooked full of flavor. Overall not a bad place to try if you're in the mood for seafood. read more

The service here is great! The food is EXCELLENT and fresh, and I will continue to go here to celebrate events. The fresh oysters were the freshest I've found recently. The clam chowder was a bit heavy on the pepper for my tastes, but it was still exquisite! The lobster roll is slightly larger than a slider (the bun), but it was filled with more lobster than I think other buns holds! I sat on the covered patio, and it was lovely! Parking is a bit tight, so I like to Uber to this location. It's expensive, but I think the food is excellent. read more

Stopped by here while visiting Ponce market and decided to take a stroll on the belt line. What brought me in that I saw they had oysters and was in the mood for some. I ended up sitting downstairs at the bar for some drinks. The place seemed to be busy. The bartenders were all friendly and inviting. I tried one of there house cocktails and I didn't really Enjoy it so I went with an old fashioned. I had a dozen oysters and I loved the fact they had a selections of different ones. They were all very fresh served with horseradish, mignonete and cocktail sauce. I also got the fish dip, they said they make it daily. I did like that fact it was mostly fish and very light fillers if any. Overall, it's a nice active place to hang out and meet people. read more

Nearly all their wines are organically or sustainably farmed. I love that the menu also provides recommendations for how you can enjoy the wine - with what dish, chilled or room temp, etc. We will definitely be back, although maybe once the weather heats up a little bit, because this impending snowy weather in Atlanta is no joke! I'm now at the beetle cat pub and am seriously disappointed with the degree of service and professionalism. In the past hour, I Have viewed bartenders float torch each other, poke each other with tongs, and one female bartender scratch her naked belly with both her hands and not wash them. All of the while, I was watching and waiting for service. When I did receive service, I was billed for more cocktails than I ordered for one order. I 'm more than willing to give a brand new organization an opportunity to work out their procedure and routine however in regards to a ford fry company, these should not be conducts a customer witnesses or has to remark on. I really like the space, music, and offering to the area but expect that standards are addressed so that beetle cat is on level together with the other eateries in the region and in ford frys portfolio. read more

We visit our kids in Atlanta often and love trying all the Ford Fry places. Beetlecat has become the favorite. We love Inman park and live for the conch fritters at Beetlecat. We spend part of our year in Key West and have tried fritters from the keys and all over Florida. Beetlecat's are some of the best we've EVER had. Last time we were in town, we had excellent service from Jameson and also talked to chef Mike who explained this amazing squid ink crudo to us. So many good oysters and crudos. Great rosé and beer selection. The lobster roll is also ridiculously good, so buttery and the freshest lobster in town, the snow crab Asian salad was incredible, and we are excited to try the late night pizza menu when we are back in town! read more

My boyfriend and I had a reservation here last night and were super disappointed at how impolite the host was who we dealt with. It was evident she had an attitude, and had no problem making that clear. Not entirely sure if it was just an off day for her, but it was not the type of welcome you'd expect from a restaurant like this. My boyfriend later needed directions to the restroom and had to ask this same women, she didn't make eye contact and simply pointed. We enjoyed our food but the outdoor seating was swarming with flies which did make it difficult to really enjoy ourselves. We would try this spot again but definitely wouldn't sit outdoors, and would hope that the host and greeting were more pleasant. read more

Sipping on a comforting hot tea, I indulged in an array of four different donuts that were simply outstanding--some of the best I've had in a while, and served piping hot and fresh! Each bite was a burst of sweetness and satisfaction. After savoring the donut delights, I concluded my meal with a crab roll that surpassed expectations. Our server had no warmth or personality, merely reciting. our tips reflected this, as he never came even once.to check on us after our food came. It wasn't busy, which seemed odd for a Thurs evening. We ordered the lobster rolls which a friend had raved about. The little dab of lobster was tough, cold & dried out. They were listed as market price and turned out to be $30 each!!ridiculous! Juliana was an incredible server! We used to be regulars here pre-Covid and are pleased to say it's still amazing now. Most restaurants have lost that quality of service so it was refreshing that our server was great. The food is always amazing here. We sampled several raw oysters, had the fish dip, enjoyed the lobster roll, whole branzino and collar dish. We typically don't get desserts but, once again, our server sold us on the chocolate cake and key lime pie. She even told us about the upcoming donut brunches on the weekend. Oysters, we got west coast, tasted like they just were shucked out of the Pacific Server Daniel was friendly and helpful! Best decor of any restaurant in the area. I was recently invited to attend dinner with friends at this place. I hadn't heard of it before but, I'll say the everything was top notch. From service to food and the drinks. The bartender knew how to make the drinks requested and I've never had a better tasting tequila sunrise. He even made a specialty drink that will have you come back. The tapas style menu is chock full of creative and inventive choices. We got the fish they filet at your table, it is the most fantastic piece of fish I've ever consumed. The squid was very good! Went to the basement for drinks. Stayed no longer than 20 seconds. Bartender was HORRIBLY rude. We commented that it smelled like vomit and he suggested we go sit on the "effing roof". We waited several minutes to be greeted, our reservation didn't seem to matter, and service felt disorganized from the start. We weren't given menus or silverware until we asked, and attention to detail was noticeably lacking throughout the visit. The food was absolutely the highlight. Everything we ordered was delicious and lived up to the hype. However, for a bill that approached $300 for just two people, I expected a better atmosphere and overall experience. I'm big on ambiance, especially when booking a place for a birthday or date. Part of what hurt the experience was being seated beside a group dressed very casually in sweats and hoodies, with one guest working on a laptop and taking over an extra table. That's not a criticism of them, but it didn't align with the elevated dining experience the restaurant's pricing and online reputation seem to suggest. A dress code or a more curated dining environment would go a long way toward creating the upscale atmosphere they're aiming for. Great food, but great restaurants create an experience, not just a meal. For me, Crescent delivered on the food but fell short on the service, ambiance, and attention to detail needed to justify the price. Not somewhere I'll be returning for a special occasion.

The service here has always been impeccable and I really appreciate that they're welcoming to solo diners and keep bar seating available. What impressed me most was that both the hostess and our server remembered my friend, even though he had only been staying at the hotel for two days. That personal touch made us feel genuinely welcome, and we were seated comfortably right away. We shared a couple of beautifully presented desserts along with coffee, and everything was delicious. It was the perfect way to end the evening. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is that when we opened our dessert menus, there were no menu pages inside. It was a small oversight, and we understand that things happen, so it certainly didn't ruin our visit. Overall, The Americano offers warm hospitality, attentive service, and beautifully crafted desserts. I'd gladly return the next time I'm in Buckhead.

Holeman and Finch is known for its burger, and deservedly so, but I can't stress enough how good the other food and drink are here. Looking at the current list of Atlanta restaurants in the Michelin Guide, I think Holeman and Finch deserves to be included. I wonder why they got snubbed. Holeman and Finch relocated to Colony Square in Midtown in February 2023. The restaurant validates parking in the Colony Square garage for two hours. We stayed just over two hours and ended up paying $6. I like to enter and exit the garage via Peachtree St NE. There's also an entrance/exit on 14th St NE, next to The Starling hotel. We used to go to the original location in Brookwood/South Buckhead circa 2010 when only 24 burgers were made per night and released at 10pm. Holeman and Finch existed in that location from 2008 to 2020. It was quite the Yelp hot spot: https://www.yelp.com/biz/holeman-and-finch-atlanta-2 This new location at Colony Square is way more spacious and looks great. There's indoor and outdoor (covered and uncovered) seating. The atmosphere is that of a modern, upscale pub. It's nice. Reservations can be booked on OpenTable, so get those dining points. Our server said the brunch menu was served until 4pm. Here's what my wife and I had: Drinks: * H&F Bloody Mary ($14) * Iced Tea - half sweet, half unsweet ($5) Graze: * Naturally Served Oysters ($5 each) - cocktail sauce, mignonette, buttered saltines, horseradish - Lowcountry Cups - Charleston, SC - Dukes of Topsail - Topsail Sound, NC - Dixon Point - New Brunswick, Canada * Deviled Egg Trio ($9) - classic, country ham, and Pickapeppa mayo * Hand Chopped Sirloin Steak Tartare ($20) - capers, horseradish, egg yolk, chips * Simple Lettuces ($15) - citrus vinaigrette, crisp shallots, fromage blanc, pecans Sandwiches: * H+F Cheeseburger ($28) - certified Angus and Hereford beef, onions, Kraft, fries Plates: * Housemade Scottish Gravlax ($18) - toasted brioche, fried Pantelleria capers, lemon dill clabber * Holeman + Finch Vegetable Plate ($32) - "all that is best from our Southern farms" Dessert: * Sticky Toffee Pudding ($14) - vanilla ice cream Everything, down to the sweet tea, was fantastic. The Bloody Mary was strong and so delicious that I gulped it down. All of the dishes were beautifully plated and finished. The oysters were fresh, superb quality, and cleanly shucked. They forgot the crackers, but that's okay. I highly recommend the deviled eggs. They were perhaps the best we've ever had anywhere. If you're unfamiliar with Pickapeppa, it's a sweet and savory Jamaican brown sauce that is used to make the mayo for this dish. There was nothing "simple" about the Simple Lettuces salad. It was pretty much a perfect, tasty, and refreshing salad. As for the H+F Cheeseburger, it's a classic and continues to be one of the best burgers around. Every bite is just so good, and the ketchup and mustard remain distinct. If you've never had the burger before, get it here or at H&F Burger at Ponce City Market. The Truist Park version isn't the same and I've never tried the Mercedes-Benz Stadium version (the old Turner Field version was legit, though). If you like gravlax, wow - the gravlax here is amazing and really well made. The Vegetable Plate was terrific as well. It featured potatoes, okra, beans, succotash, mushrooms, onions, peppers, tomatoes, and more with a fried onion ring on top. It's a great dish to share. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was top-notch - exceptional texture and flavor, and perfectly paired with a scoop of dense vanilla ice cream. Our server was Jonathan R. He was friendly and took great care of us. A manager checked on us too.

She ended up flagging a woman on her way out for the one she gave back. The Alpine, immersive, cared-for experience--outsourced to a departing stranger. The service lost the thread early and never found it. Ninety seconds after taking our drink order, our server asked whether we'd ordered drinks. Later, wine had to be flagged down, and when it arrived he couldn't remember what we'd requested. And the fruit flies. At our table, and--for thematic consistency--in the men's room. Fruit flies. At No. 29 in North America. The kitchen can clearly cook. But you don't crack a top-fifty list to ration blankets and split the room with fruit flies. All the high-end…read morerestaurants (not just in Atlanta but everywhere) seemed to either be formal "fancy" dining with boring menus and crazy high prices, or chef-centric places more interested in showing off the kitchen's chops than providing an enjoyable experience for diners. We'd rather find a hole in the wall on Buford Highway. But with a big anniversary coming up, we thought we should go someplace nice. I chose Avize because the menu looked much more interesting and cohesive than any of the other fine dining options I checked out. I was not disappointed. It was one of the best meals I've had in Atlanta in years. Service was very attentive though, admittedly, we were one of only a couple of tables. The sommelier spent a long time with us discussing our tastes and recommending options before settling on a funky and delicious bottle from a small producer in France. For the first course we ordered venison tartare and ramp and morels three ways. The ramp and morel dish was a showcase, though the venison was probably the star of the evening. For mains I got the fermented carrot Bolognese. Delicious and well-executed, though probably less adventurous than the name suggested. The lamb definitely showcased the chef's skills, with four or five different cuts and preparations on the plate, but focused on flavor rather than showiness. We also shared two sides. The tartiflette - a cheesy, bacony potato dish - and fried artichokes in a delicious pesto cheese sauce. There were no disappointments. Every dish was inventive, beautiful, delicious and reminiscent of our time in Switzerland and northern Italy. It's also worth mentioning that the portion sizes were just right - we left full but not stuffed. Total came to under $300 including wine, tax and tip, which is quite reasonable for that level of food and service (the tasting menu is quite a bit more). All in all, it rekindled my hope that fine dining can break out of its rut.
