In a nutshell - go here, but go during non-peak times if you want to have your pick of the games. This place has been recommended to us for a while (new to the area). We thought about going one Friday night, but we drove by and it was packed - good for them, but we thought we probably wouldn't get to enjoy the game aspect as much. We went on a Saturday afternoon, and it was perfect! We were the only ones there, so we got to talk to the bartender about the history and future of the place, plus learn a lot about video game acquisition and restoration. The beers on tap were a great selection of flavorful craft beers. The arcade theme of the bar is carried throughout the restaurant (except for the bathrooms, which I think is a cool opportunity for the owners to explore). My husband and I were able to have our pick of the games, beat The Simpsons, and try out lots of others. I love how they have ledges to set your drink on right next to every game. We'll be back, but probably not on a weekend night. read more

This is a good place to come hangout and chill with friends or a date. The games are great, and plentiful in variety. Their beer menu is extensive and the bartender makes great recommendations. Although they don't have a posted mixed drink menu I'm sure they could make anything you wanted due to their extensive collection of spirits. The atmosphere is warm, inviting and clean. This is a fun hipster analog bar. Nice big open space full of everything you ever played growing up. Including ski ball! There is also a basement that opens up at 9 PM that has more of your arcade favorites. It has a full bar. It has minimal seating though. I'm assuming it's because you're supposed to be standing at an arcade game or a pinball machine. I love the Benson area and this is such a needed and great juxtaposition to some of the other places there! read more

Two floors of arcade games with a bar on both floors. The lower level took $3 to get in but it wasn't as loud or crowded as first floor. I ordered a Moscow mule from the bartender on the first floor who gave enough hard liquor in one drink, for two drinks (not complaining). The guy was really nice and gave me extra ginger beer as I drank more. I don't normally go out but Pac-Man, pinball, mortal combat, and a plethora of other games kept me entertained. read more

I love Beercade! The beer selection is clutch, the games are exciting, and the atmosphere is always happening. I only have two problems: it's in Benson and the weekends are insane. They have a private arcade in the basement that can be rented out for parties. I'm not sure if they have food but I don't have time to eat when I'm dominating the Twilight Zone pinball machine. I don't care much for bars to begin with so the idea of old school games in a bar sounded like a good alternative to playing Keno. I got excited and nostalgic as I entered Beercade and heard the electronic buzzing of the arcade games. Unfortunately I was quickly disappointed with the games. There was a few handful of good games but for the most part they had a collection of random games. It looks like they spent the most on the pinball games. No Double Dragon or Spy Hunter! Every time I travel, I try to find a bar arcade. I've gone coast to coast and to this day no one can top Beercade. They take great care of their machines, the beer selection is always changing and is amazing, and they make sure everyone is always having a good time. They do a lot of high volume on weekends and the management and staff crush it with professionalism and efficiency. Play some pinball and have a local craft beer. Beer is in the name so don't expect wine because come on how how dumb could you be. Get on down to Beercade and realize that Omaha is absolutely crushing the bar scene. Seriously one of my favorite places in town. Beercade has a large selection of beers (including hard cider if you're like me and not a huge fan of beer) on tap. It's kind of nice that you can see all the information on the beer you want just over the bar area, including alcohol content, where it was brewed, and how full the keg is. The arcade games are plenty and rotated periodically to provide a little variety. Overall, it's really a great place to just go and hang out with some friends and have a good time. read more

I like pretty much all the things about this bar except for the lack of tables. I was there a couple of times on the weekend with my husband and our friends. It's a good thing that they're busy but I didn't want to be hand-full with a drink in one hand and jacket on the other the entire time we were there till somebody seated left. Other than this small complaining, we enjoyed the drinks, atmosphere of the bar and bartenders who know what they're doing. Came in at the tail end of happy hour so we got free quarters, which was cool. Bartender was very helpful and friendly, and the beer was decent. The layout was pretty cool, and i loved the Princess Peach mural in the ladies room. I'm visiting from California, and I wanted to try a local beer, ended up getting the pale ale from Nebraska Brewing Co. I'm in no way a beer snob, but I live within driving distance of Lagunitas, Russian River and Firestone and my husband is a brewer, so i know what great beer tastes like. That being said, I was bummed there was no mario bros, but i settled in for a nice long game of Tetris (which is my jam!) The reason for the 2 stars is because of the crazy ass skeeball hogging drunk ass wanna be punk rock chick named April who was obviously a regular and seemed to think that the skee ball area belonged to her and legit tried to fight me when I put my money in the game (which wasn't being used at the time) Long story short she tried to get the bartender to kick me out, then threatened to punch me in the back of the head, which pissed me off, so i ran up on her but her friends got in the way and blocked me, but not before she got a weak ass punch in and hit me in the temple. All i wanted to do was enjoy my last night in Omaha, but was unable to do so because the bartender (who obviously knew her) didn't kick her out which put me on edge the entire night. I'll probably be back next time I'm in Omaha. Hopefully the pseudo wanna be hipster scum will have moved on by then and I can review my rating. Seriously one of the coolest bars I've ever seen! Gorgeous arcade mural outside of the building made me excited just to go in. Bar had a decent selection and I had a blast playing a bar version of skee ball and other arcade games. If you're in Omaha, it's worth checking out. read more

Absolutely the best bar in Omaha. Great service, old school games, pinball machines for pinheads, and excellent craft beer. People can complain that they sometimes get crowded but that's because the concept and the staff make it work. Best time to go is during the day for the happy hour deal until 7pm and because you can better hear the games you're playing and not background music or people chatting. Beercade was just OK. They have a pretty good beer selection that can't help being dwarfed by certain others in the immediate neighborhood. There is a decent selection of games to play, including my personal favorites, Pac-Man and Tetris (skee ball appeared to be dead, though D:). I even made it to the high score list on Tetris although don't ask me to prove it because I couldn't figure out how to change the initials to MMS. BUT my cocktail (Princess Peach) was honestly lousy and tasted mostly like stale ice with a little peach schnapps. Hmmm. It was also pretty dead inside but it was like midnight on a Monday so I probably should have expected that! Definitely a decent place to have a beer/play some games but for more elaborate evenings I would head elsewhere. read more

What a find! As a pinhead who maintains an extensive collection of pinball and arcades at the Pennsylvania Pinball and Coin-Op Hall of Fame outside Pittsburgh, PA I have a high standard. Beercade greatly exceeded that standard with an amazing experience. This great combination of bar and arcade has a wonderful, clean atmosphere, and an amazing selection of games, beer and cocktails with a very friendly seating layout. On this cold rainy night, I wasn't at all surprised to see this place hopping an hour after my early arrival (to get my game on). This is definitely a place for the 25-50 crowd of working professionals, but there was a nice blended crowd and a surprising number of women (take that 80s gaming nerds!). The bartender was superb and his knowledge of the vast beer selection and games win over the new clientelle. Prices are phenomenal and the games were all in perfect working order and extremely clean! This place is really a MUST go in the revitalized Benson district. read more

Excellent atmosphere in the heart of Benson! Lots of games to play, and not long of a wait for the game you want. One of the games was eating quarters, but the bartender just gave us back whatever we lost and they unplugged the game. The people were fun too.
