    Happy hour!!

What a great little dive bar tucked away in tiny downtown Ralston. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon to wind down from the work week. While it was still plenty bright outside, you get sucked into the cave-like darkness of the Village Bar as soon as you walk in. A good sign? Yes, indeed. The place wasn't crowded, so I grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered an Octoberfest, which was on special for $2. Then the coolest thing happened. They don't have a traditional tap line here. Instead there's this beer device that I think they found in the future (see my pic). Essentially, they serve the tap beer in disposable plastic cups with a hole in the bottom held shut by a magnet. To fill your cup, the bartender simply plops the cup's hole over a little machine that fills 'er up from the bottom up. There is a little novelty the first time you see this in action, so enjoy it. While they have your typical selection of domestics here, the Village also touts some great craft beer, from seasonals to go-to IPAs. They even had Sam Adam's Rebel IPA in 16 oz. tall boys. Awesome! Not a bad selection of bourbons and ryes as well. The bathroom was small, dingy and, but the looks of it, should've been dirty. But actually it was quite clean. Plenty of tissue, soap and paper towels to keep you feeling fresh enough for another round or two. Another thing I loved about the Village Bar is the fact they have games. From a tabletop Pac-Man to a claw machine where you can fish out stuffed animals. It's a great place to go when you feel like an adult who wants to feel like a kid for a few minutes.

This bar is just pure fun! The bartender treats you like you matter 100%. The atmosphere is light, the drinks are heavy and the jams are clear. You won't have a bad time here, I promise!

Great spot! I have been here when it was just me, when I had a friend, and when I had some friends. Everytime it has been fun! When the bar fills up, it is pretty lively. I usually stop in after a game of disc nearby, but the offer of free food and cheap beer was too good to pass up. Hanging out (overtaking) with a bunch of Yelpers was a great way for others to find this little gem. Skeeball and the DJ make the nights more fun than the days, but I liked it a lot. You can see a wide variety of people depending on your time of day here. Afternoons are pretty empty, but then around 4 you get some old timers. Later you start to see a younger crowd. It doesn't matter because they are all really chill. My favorite part is that this is one bar that I know plays Jeopardy! every day with the volume on. It is a great way to meet people and challenge yourself and your new friend sitting next to you. I like to bet a beer on the Double Jeopardy questions. I wish it was closer to home, but I have to settle for Rose and Crown to walk to.

A great bar. It's a little run down but its all about the people. Just like a great hometown bar, it felt like home. Service was great and so was atmosphere.

    Love the tables.

Small little dive bar. It's all regulars which is cool for them. Went and felt out of place. Small and hot as heck.

I finally checked out RTG after passing it countless times. I was expecting a dive bar, but it…read morewasn't my definition of a dive bar. The place is large, with nicely spaced tables and chairs, some high tops. There are numerous tvs and a substantial bar. They even have a nice-sized party room with doors that close tightly enough to block out sound. Some community organizations have meetings there. The server was friendly and attentive. She told me the initials in the name stand for Redeye Tavern and Grill. The menu is extensive with everything from wings, burgers, sandwiches, and salads to weekend brunch and soup. I decided to have a BLT with a side salad. Big Bro had a Cali chicken sandwich that had grilled chicken, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and mayo with fries. He said it was just okay, but would have liked it better with more avocado. The fries were standard crinkle cut. My BLT was good because it had just the right amount of bacon AND it was crispy bacon. The salad was standard iceberg with crunchy croutons and flavorful ranch dressing. There's a fair-sized beer list, including some rotating seasonal brews. We both had the Kinkaider Snow Beast Winter Ale, which I loved. Big Bro wasn't a fan, but he typically likes brown ale like Samuel Smith. We really enjoyed the music being played today-- felt a bit like a time machine but in a good way. Wins in the flavor department for me today.

This is the Mexican spot that we usually hit when we want some comfort food that reminds us of back home. The service is quick sometimes language barrier is a little bit of issue, but they always make it right. You can take it to go, they are open 24 hours a day and you can also stop in. We love it. My son loves the green chili burrito/enchiladas and my husband loves the carne asada burrito. I will definitely get pictures next time. Everything just gets eaten up way too quick.

This is quite possibly the worst "Mexican" food I've ever had in my life. We ordered several items…read moreand not a single thing was good. Where do I even start? "Big Tacos" - these aren't big at all. They're basically the size of Taco Bell's small hardshell tacos, except almost twice the price and half the quality. The ground beef was dry and bland. The shells had the same texture, consistency, and flavor that you'd find in a cheap box of DIY shells from ALDI, except worse. "Rolled Tacos" - these are taquitos. Just call them what they are. Again, the meat was dry and bland. Tasted like it came out of a pre-made frozen box that they sprinkled some shredded cheese on before heating up. "Cheese Quesdilla" - this was 100% just straight up microwaved. At no point did the tortillas touch a hot pan. To add insult to injury, they put sour cream INSIDE the quesadilla before microwaving it, causing the sour cream to become hot, broken down, and of course making the microwaved quesadilla even soggier. Apparently no one told them sour cream is supposed to be a COLD condiment. The best part about our visit was the drive thru, which wasn't great, either. The person repeated our order wrong no fewer than 3 times at the speaker, and again no fewer than 3 times at the window. The person wasn't rude or unfriendly by any means; just seemed like their manager set them up to fail by providing little to no training for the role.
