Unfortunately this theater isn't what it used to be. It feels like it's been left behind and could really use some attention. There were trash on the floors, the self-serve drinking station was messy, and our auditorium wasn't ready until about five minutes before the movie was supposed to begin. The concession line was long, and paying premium prices for popcorn and snacks made the overall experience even more disappointing. We came to watch Spider-Man, but the seats were in rough shape, old, worn out, and several were damaged. It's a shame because this used to be one of my go-to theaters. At this point, it really needs some updates and better management to get things back on track. Next time, I'll probably make the longer drive to a theater that's cleaner and better maintained. read more

Nope going to go to a different theater. Upon entry it looks nice. Well kept and clean. My daughter and I used the family bathroom before the movie and the sink would not turn on. It was an automatic one that likely needed to have a better replace or something. This would not have bothered me as much but we went into the women's to wash our hands and only one sink worked out of four. That's so gross!! You can't have that many sinks not functioning. Then the seats are literally shedding their fake leather all over us. Eww. The staff was ok. I would not say friendly but not rude just there and doing what they must to get the pay check. I would not pay that much for a ticket to see a show at this theater again. read more

First things first, HANDS DOWN BEST POCORN IN OMAHA/ COUNCIL BLUFFS. Worked here 11 years ago and still a nice decent theater if you aren't really picky when it comes to format. A little pricey though. Not many food options at all... YOURE better off getting a meal at DJ DUGOUT then getting an after snack at the theater. Other than that very chill, lounge like theater. This theater has fallen into disrepair by ACX's neglect and poor management. I've been to two movies at the Aksarben cinema since ACX took over, and both times the screen was damaged. First, last December for Marty Supreme and now recently with The Odyssey. Both showings in Theater 3. Thank god I saw this film previously at the laser imax in Council Bluffs! My wife and father-in-law were not as lucky and both said they won't be back.  It is inexplicable that a movie theater, as expensive as ACX, lets a theater fall into disrepair and didn't attempt to fix it from Dec-Aug--likely much longer. I won't even mention the state of the seats. Leather scarred and seats worn.  I recently went to Toy Story 5 in the Elkhorn location and it's clear that venue is well financed and taken care of. It's unfortunate that kind of care cannot be given to the Aksarben location.  For now, I won't be returning either. Though I hope they have plans to fix this theater or shut it down. I shared my feedback with guest services and no response. If possible, see a movie at filmstreams. If they aren't showing what you are looking for, drive a little farther. read more

Went to see a movie and got there about 15 minutes early, but the concessions line was too long to get any food. Bathrooms were not clean at all (lacking paper towels to top it off). Seats were cushioned but ours were incredibly ripped up. I love going to the movies but honestly the experience felt sadly chaotic, gross, and solidified that I will be driving an extra 10 min to go to a better theater. Edit: took it down from a two star to a one star because there was a rather major disturbance in the front for some reason that interrupted the movie twice for a considerable amount of time. Went to see The Odyssey on Sunday, August 2nd, in theater #3 and it was terrible. The screen had a strong projection light behind it which left a glare across most of the screen obscuring the central part of the entire movie. Also, the resolution of the picture was poor and like something out of the '70s. In addition, the volume of certain scenes was truly deafening such that I had to cover my ears to protect my hearing. My husband surprised me with tickets to see Wicked the opening weekend on a Friday night. The tickets were only $20 for both of us! The theater was clean and there was a cute little pink/green backdrop for moviegoers to take pictures if they wanted. As with concessions everywhere, they were overpriced - $10 for a large popcorn and it was slightly stale with a lot of broken pieces/crumbs. We didn't opt for the reclining seats, but the couches were still cozy and comfortable. Overall a pleasant movie experience and would come back! read more

Attended a hit showing of wicked recently and man this place was packed! The seating was definitely not the vibe of the other theaters around town and a little out dated for what we are used to. Theater was clean and well attended, but the restrooms were another story. They were in dire need of attention, especially for the amount of people in the building. We opted to go without snacks as the line was a mile long, and we did not allow ourselves enough time to get snacks and into the theater before showtime. read more

I really love the location of this theater, but it seems to be chronically understaffed. The line for concessions is always extremely long, and the theaters and bathrooms are usually really dirty. The last few times we've gone our showing was interrupted by high schoolers running in from outside and causing a scene. I'd rather drive the extra to get to a different movie theater than go here. read more

Aksarben Cinema offers a fantastic movie-going experience with clean facilities, comfortable seating, and excellent picture and sound quality that makes the film truly immersive. The staff are friendly, and the concessions stand provides a good variety of snacks, including fresh popcorn. Despite some seats not being recline-able as well as us not being able to get a free refill on our large popcorn (the concession stand closed before our movie ended), the overall experience was enjoyable, making this theater a great choice for a night out--I'll definitely be back! read more

This theater was really nice. Cool set up when you walk in that makes you feel nostalgic with all the lighting around the concessions. The theaters are kind of weird because the seating is so close and set low. Like I felt like I could kick the person in front of me but literally in their head. I also had a hard time trying to figure out parking and then find the theater. I had also never been here before and came at night . The bad experience started with the small sign at the register stating cash only for concessions . They wanted us to get out of line and go to the atm. They told us they were out of beer, yet when we pointed out the case behind the bar, they said they couldn't go back there ‍. We then tried to buy bottles of water and they were out! So we asked for a cup for water. They charged us $14 for two cups (a bottle is $5 lol). The seats are very worn (looks like knives have slashed through them). And no bells or whistles- no recline, etc. Finally, the sound (we saw Wicked) wasn't loud at all. Very strange. We will not go back and would not recommend to others. read more

Wouldn't go back. Scanners didn't work, so you had to wait for someone to 'check you in.' 20 minute line for limited selection of concessions. Only 2 of the 100 flavors of soda worked. I don't believe that Aksarben Cinema is locally owned anymore but seems about the same. I have to admit, I haven't seen a movie in the theater for the past 2 years due to Covid but finally saw The Chosen Christmas special earlier this month with my mom. It was so nice to order our tickets weeks in advance and know that the seats I chose were reserved. It was the small theater which was fine with me and half full on a Monday evening. Lots of dining options within walking distance to make for a fun dinner and a movie outing. It was also slighter cheaper for the tickets than at the AMC Westroads using the senior discount for mom. I went back earlier this week just to get a gift card for my niece's birthday. I didn't catch his name but the young man working the counter was very personable and helpful. He made small talk while being efficient and still kept the line moving. In these days when people can be rude, uncaring, or dismissive, it was a breath of fresh air. Nice work, Aksarben Cinema and staff! I don't see a lot of movies in the theater these days but when I do, I prefer to come here. read more

Went to see Nosferatu this afternoon at Aksarben Village. We choose this theater most often even though it is no longer locally owned. It was literally 50ish degrees in theater one. I stepped out to complain before the movie and during the movie. We shivered with coats on, balled up in our seats with hoods up and hands in pockets. The other party in the theater stepped down to the thermostat three times and also stepped out to complain three times. What the actual fuck is wrong with management? Ronnie D Stark complained after the show and someone gave him free passes for another movie. I would have liked to enjoy the one we paid for. Life just cannot be fun without some ridiculous hiccup. read more

Bookguy and I haven't been to a theatre together since before Covid. I find the idea of a crowded theater very off putting. However, on a Friday at 11:00 a.m., we practically had a private showing of the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie. I didn't realize that somewhere in the theater there were recliner seats. Those would have been more comfortable than where we sat due to the headrest pushing my head forward. I sat sort of sideways to avoid the discomfort. The sound was excellent and I had no trouble understanding the convos. The whole place looked spiffy like it had a recent overhaul, but this may just have seemed so to me since I hadn't been there for awhile. As for the movie, I thought it was the best of the series so far. It was dark, but also had some funny bits that made me laugh. I also cried some at a couple spots. If you have liked the others, you will probably enjoy this one. read more

Took my grandson to a movie...it was sooo cold in there, we had to leave our coats on...it's a -3 outside and that felt warmer then inside the theater....besides that, the ticket prices are not customer friendly for mid day / afternoon. read more

The women's restroom needs some help! There is only one dispenser of towels, which is in the the corner as you exit. Everyone must walk from the sink across the bathroom to get a towel to dry their hands. Therefore there's water all over the bathroom and a danger sign. This is a hazard just put one more trashcan and another towel dispenser on the wall and your problem is solved because there's only one trashcan. It's overflowing and trash is on the floor. And only one soap dispenser was working yet a bag of soap was sitting on the side not sure if someone forgot to fill it. read more

This is my number 1 cinema. We usually go early on Saturday to beat the crowds. They have a nice bar in the back that serves mixed drinks. The seats are clean and comfortable. My wife and I enjoy the ACX Select screenings the most. You need to catch the new movies when they drop to see it on the large screen. Also, the location is very convenient. Lost of places for lunch and dinner nearby or take a walk near the park and catch some sun. read more

Beautiful Movie Theater in Omaha. I am visiting here and my dad told me it's a very new complex- and it shows. The seats are very luxurious - and even have cup holders. We didn't buy any snacks, but the concession stand had a lot to choose from. My granddaughter and I saw Toy Story 4, and we were able to select our seats. The sound system was excellent. Hurray! Comfortable new stadium seating! This is excellent! Giant screen with comfy seats is good. Still has the cool bar in the theater so my wife can enjoy a margarita before the show. The barkeep is cool, too. They have all the good first run movies here, there's plenty of good local restaurants, parking is plentiful, and it's near where we live. So great! Last, but most certainly not least, is the ability to book specific seats for the shows. I love knowing I'll have a good seat. Great for dates! read more

My friends and I went to see Halloween Ends Tuesday Oct 8th at the 7:15 pm show in Theater 4. During the movie a fight broke out during a great scene between a bunch people and nobody came in to break it up and it went on and on. Despite the fact that we passed a Sheriff in the lobby. I called the Theater the next day complaining but never heard back. We didn't feel safe and left without seeing rhe end of the movie. I wouldn't recommend going here. read more

Went to Aksarben Cinema today. This is my usual go to theatre. I was very happy when they opened it as I live only a few miles away. The theatre seems to be always clean and well maintained. The staff is always friendly there. Bartenders always give you a good pour when you order wine.... love them grapes! Ha! All the seating at Aksarben is new and comfy!! Some of the theatre's have the electric recliners and some have the wide loungers. Can't go wrong with either! Go at select times and movies are only $5. Can't beat that! Overall it's a great place to see a movie. Downfall is parking At Aksarben village kinda sucks with all the construction going on but other wise all good!!! read more

Yikes! The facilities are great. Staff shines. But $6+ for a soda that was awful. Three out of four soda dispenser's were out of most pop. The last machine delivered super weak soda. Disgusting. You know that good feeling you get when you spend $50 for a night at the movies, eat some subpar chicken strips, and spend the whole movie shivering while wearing your coat, hat, and gloves? Me too! Because that's exactly the night we just had at the Aksarben Cinema... We don't get our for as many movies as we did a couple years ago, so maybe my expectations have heightened. But Aksarben has taken steps backwards compared to some other local multiplexes. They've cut out the Cafe, and apparently turned down the thermostats. In fact... As I was suffering through what I only can imagine were temperatures in the range of 50 to 55°F, I distinctly remember this exact thing happening to me last time I watched a movie in theater #4 (the big one) here. And while I'm complaining, one entire restroom bank was out of order, while the other was disorderly. And while there was a queue for the film, no one ever came out to "let us in" when they were finished cleaning. Finally, the ACX, which is marketed as some kind of benefit, is just an invented acronym for "Aksarben Cinema Experience" is really just a big screen, booming sound system, and bright screen. The only unique viewing experience I can say was truly memorable was how absolutely cold I was throughout. Yes, it is also about 10°F outside right now, but this is an issue I've only experienced here. It's typical sometimes even to keep one's coat on during a movie in the dregs of winter. But totally bundled up and still cold while indoors is unacceptable. Positives... Staff was friendly. Can't say I'll be excited to visit again, despite the convenient proximity. I'd rather drive somewhere farther, with better food, and hopefully not need to pack an extra coat. read more
