Beau Thai quickly rose the ranks to be one of my most favorite Thai restaurants in Pasadena! Came here on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. The restaurant is quite small and quaint. I originally wanted to gatekeep this place and not write a review but got to support local businesses! Prices were very reasonable around the ~$10 range for each dish. For two people we ordered: - ​Pad Thai w/ Tofu: I was so surprised by this pad thai! I've always had trouble finding pad Thai that wasn't overly sweet and sour (like ketchup flavor), so I was delighted to find that the pad Thai here has a rich savory flavor and "wok hay" (the smoky flavor from the wok). The tofu had a nice crisp on the outside, noodles had an excellent chewy texture, and it was a generous portion surprise. Three Flavor Fish: I think this was a special menu item, but this was a saucy, fried fish fillet. It comes in a huge portion (slab might be a more fitting word), with tons of veggies like broccoli, onion and bell peppers. We both really enjoyed this dish! There are plenty of street parking in front of the store (Colorado). All the service staff were nice, quick and helpful! I will definitely be back to try more of the menu items! read more

Beau Thai is a great place for a quick and well prepared meal. I've had the spicy eggplant several times. Mostly it's been great, but one time the eggplant was not cooked all the way through. It was disappointing, but it was busy and I think they were just trying to get food out. I've tried the pad Thai a few times and it's been consistently tasty. My go to, so far, is the broccoli on the a la carte section of the menu. I get it with chicken. It's been consistently delicious. It comes with broccoli, carrots, and chicken. The broccoli is American broccoli and has bite but not raw. The carrots are similar; they have good crunch but aren't raw. The chicken comes in thin cut pieces, is well seasoned, and typically not dry. The service is always great! I do wish they would get rid of the plastic table cloths because they're very long and not comfortable in your legs if you're wearing shorts. The bathroom is Always exceptionally clean: always. The prices are fair, too. You can expect to spend between $13 and $17/18 per person not including apps. Street parking is available and pretty easy to deal with. The spring rolls are fresh and the papaya salad is also very fresh. I am giving it four stars but it's more like four and a half read more

Met a friend for lunch at Beau Thai last week. First time eating there in person, though I've done takeout several times and have loved their food. A great experience. I had a lunch special, Spicy Basil bowl. Delicious. Writing about it now makes me want to order it again today! Other elements of the special were just fine. Salad was particularly good for this sort of thing. There were several people in the restaurant, but it was relatively quiet. A great spot to have a conversation with someone. We sat there for an unusually long time. The staff was always very attentive and helpful. Made sure we had plenty of water, etc. etc. Never felt hurried. Excellent service! The prices are reasonable. And the atmosphere is pleasant. Beau Thai has now become one of my favorite lunch spots in Pasadena. Will try dinner there too. Highly recommended! read more

4.5 stars Super delicious & actually authentic tasting. Majority of thai restaurants in pasadena taste super watered down & YT-washed. Beau is not that. What they do water down is their spice however. I ordered very spicy and it was very mild. Next time I order takeout, I will use a thai last name so they get it right (little trick I learned that actually works) Minus .5 stars because the the portion of rice I got for my curry was tiny-- like microscopic. It was 1/3 of a normal portion of rice for a single person. Outrage. Good thing I ordered an extra side of rice. This portion was actually normal. I've tried their pad kee mao and green curry and both pass my standards. I have incredibly high standards when it comes to thai food (I used to live by thai town for years where the best thai food resides in all of america). Their prik nam pla is perfection. A concoction of fish sauce, sugar, lime and thai chilis. I pour it all over my food for an extra kick & flavor bomb, especially since their spice level was weak. A good prik nam is crucial when it comes to thai food and for me, it can make or break the meal. So many restaurants get it wrong with the wrong ratio of ingredients-- either too much fish sauce or too much sugar or lime. Beau has this part DOWN. I will be coming back & I hope they get the spice level correct next time. As for the rice issue... welp, I guess I will have to just order another side of rice read more

i order lunch to go from here & it's usually ready in 20 minutes. there is parking in front and it's warmly decorated inside. quick friendly service. food is always packed well with utensils. curry was good but not spicy like i asked for. glass noodle soup is piping hot and full of chicken which is great on this cold rainy day BUT the broth lacks flavor. Spicy Beef Salad had abundant pepper flakes & mint for flavor contrast & they were not stingy with the meat. spicy enough to make me hiccup & my nose run.... delicious! read more

Delicious and authentic Thai food. I had vegetable egg rolls that were so light and crispy. Evenly fried, lightly golden and crispy. I ordered the chicken pad thai that was out of this world. I love this place and it's my go to Thai restaurant. The green chicken curry was good but not the best I've had. I ordered their green chicken curry and it comes with a side of rice. Expect very slow service but friendly. The restaurant looks like it was newly remodeled. It's clean, pretty and welcoming. It's never crowded when I've gone during lunchtime on the weekdays. I went in yesterday and saw the great ratings. The ambience is very nice. They definitely put in some effort into the paint, and accessories with little tea light candles. They also had soothing music playing in the background. It was pretty quiet, as there were only a few tables being used so we got our pick of where we wanted to sit, and the food was relatively quick. They were very kind and the portions were a very good size. We got two dishes, Panang curry and pad see ew. Both were really great. Prices were very very reasonable. A meal for two under $30? Wow. Was looking for a new (to us) Thai restaurant to meet up with a friend and Yelp brought us here.  I like how the menu at Beau Thai includes soup noodles and I got my favorite Tom Kha coconut noodle soup.  I enjoyed this soup because it's creamy with coconut and not spicy.  I ordered it with chicken and it also contained many veggies such as mushrooms and tomatoes.   Hubby ordered his usual chicken pad see ew. He said it was missing some of the wok flavored, however he still finished the whole dish.  Our friend also had a chicken pad see ew and no complaints from her, and she is our picky eater friend. Service was attentive, our water was refilled a few times since we sat for a while. It wasn't too busy on a Monday night. I would dine here and try other dishes.  Reading other Yelp reviews, I see now they share a parking lot with the gym.  We found street parking right outside the restaurant on Colorado. read more

My husband is Thai and we live 4 min from here. We were so excited to try a new place that has really fair prices and some authentic dishes that you typically don't find in Thai restaurants in Pasadena without driving to Hollywood. I got the boat noodles and husband got rad na, we had e-san sausage as a side. The boat noodles were so incredibly bland that I had to add some fish sauce and lime juice to doctor it up. It definitely did not scratch the itch. The soup was so thin and clear. Husband's rad na was also incredibly bland. The gravy was so watery it was basically soup. There should be a fair amount of thickened gravy broth but it was a soupy mess. E-San sausage was decent but served with lettuce which we found strange. I used my own cabbage from home to fix it. I didn't opt to get papaya salad because it was also served with romaine lettuce?? Really disappointed since we were hoping for a very authentic Thai spot close to home but this wasn't it. I don't quite understand the inflated reviews. Thai food should be flavorful and exciting but this sadly fell very flat. One star for food, extra star for nice staff. read more

Warning! You will get food poisoning, ordered Pad Thai for my other half, I had Tom Yum and Chicken Satay. I was lucky I didn't eat any Pad Thai as it made my spouse super sick. Food Poisoning is no Fun, he was sick for three days And we won't ever go Back. I went for the soup and it only had only half the flavor of a good Tom Yum. Thank you to all the Yelpers who loved this place. After a long day of stupid aggravations (cable went out, etc) was not up for making dinner and decided to get Thai. We only ordered 3 things and it was way more than enough. We got tom ka soup that was loaded with shrimp, pad say ew also loaded with shrimp and broccoli, and papaya salad. My family and I didn't feel like eating leftovers today so decided to try a new Thai place in the neighborhood. We opted for the lunch specials since they were affordable and a great way to see if we like the food. We choose the following: 1) Pad Thai w/beef and white rice, 2) Chicken Satay and white rice, 3) Yellow panang chicken curry with brown rice and 4) Chicken basil with brown rice. The portion size for the lunch specials were pretty generous as it also included a side salad and egg roll. All in all, we thought the taste and value were pretty good. For the panang curry there could have been a better ratio of chicken to vegetables but it was flavorful. We would probably try again but from the dinner ala carte menu next time. read more

Ordered takeout from Beau Thai today and it was sooo good! They put my Thai Tea in a little to-go bag for the cup making it sooo easy to carry! I got pad thai and it came with two sauces, one tasted like sweet and sour and the other was chili sauce. I personally liked the sweet and sour one with the pad thai, I thought they paired really nicely! The chili sauce is really good on its own though. Definitely looking forward to trying more dishes! The customer service was ok and the Thai BBQ was pretty good too. The only thing is that you cannot customize or adjust the dishes to your own preferences. For example, the mango with sticky rice comes with this green sticky rice that is potently flavored of green tea and jasmin and or some other potent flavor. It clashes and takes away from the coconut sauce and mangos that it comes with. I asked to exchange that green rice with plain white rice but they wont let me do that, basically forcing me to eat it their way or no way at all. I tried to order it without any sticky rice and then just add a side order of white rice but they wont let me do that either. I guess some places dont like if you dont eat it their way. Guess its an ego thing. This is why I go to President Thai which is further away bc they have the normal mango with regular sticky rice and coconut cream. I really would love to keep going to Beau Thai since it is closer but not being able to order food the way I like it is a deal breaker. Other places like President Thai and Daisy Mint have no problem letting customers order according to their preferences, but there are a few restaurants that are a bit militant. read more

My husband and I wanted to try a new Thai place. We were hesitant at first since we are picky with our Thai food. We ordered take out and got shrimp pad Thai, green chicken curry and sticky rice and mango. We were impressed! The shrimp on the pad Thai was soft and flavor of the pad Thai was not too sweet, just right. The flavor of the green curry was very yummy. And the big test was the sticky rice and mango. It was just how we light it! The white sauce on top was not overwhelming sweet and the rice was perfect! We will definitely come back again and go in person next time. My partner and I drive past this stop all the time in Colorado and thought we would finally give it a chance. Here's our thoughts- - Chicken Pad Thai: Presentation was nice but the food was nothing to write home about. The rice served on the side was dry. The pad thai itself was just standard run of the mill. The portion size was large enough. The egg roll was mid as well. Overall 3/5 - Spicy Basil(Med): The rice served on the side was dry again. The portion size was filling. The flavor was bland overall. The medium was not spicy at all. My partner enjoyed the egg roll. The chicken in the meal was ground which he wasn't expecting but could very well be the norm for this type of dish. 2/5 - Experience: The food was 'ready' 2 minutes after placing the order online so fast doesn't even describe it! However much to my partners surprise it was not ready, and only half of our order was ready. He waited about 8 mins inside the store. Very intimate space inside. Service was adequate. 3/5 read more
