What perfect time to check out beard papa's! It was a hot day and wanted something cool to eat. We ordered the mango and oreo milk snow and a couple beard papas. The mango milk snow had mango syrup with mango chunks and mochi galore! The Oreo was just like the mango milk snow, but with Oreos instead. The snow isn't just shave ice, it's more like sliced ice cream, but not sweet! The sweetness comes from the toppings which is just right! The beard papa's,,,, you can never go wrong with some cream puffs! To me the quality of beard papa's have always been the same since I was 11 years old!! That's almost 20 years ago! The service here is nice, they even ask you if you're taking the snow to go because if you are they pack it up so nice for you. The inside is like a cafe with so many big tables, this is definitely a cool place to chill away from the sun!

Persona 5 collab! The matcha one was definitely my favorite out of the six though you can never go wrong with the original.

This is the 2nd beard papas I have been to and the cream puffs are always a delight to enjoy. They are the perfect size for a sweet treat after a meal and come in different flavors. This location is located inside of Mochi, and operate from the same counter so you can order something from either store.

Been a fan of beard papas and now instead of going to down town LA's Little Tokyo, you can find it in Irvine. It's located inside Mochi Cafe. So if you can't find any signs or know where to look at, just enter Mochi and you'll see all their products in there. I love the cream puffs as that's that they are known for. The cream inside the puffs are just like ones I'd have in Japan. It's custard/vanilla is the original flavor. That's the only one I always get since it's the best in my opinion. You have have the puffs with different toppings like Dubai chocolate, matcha, and other seasonal flavors. Ofcourse you have to get some coffee to go with it so I tried their banana cold foam latte and it went great with it. Tons of seating inside but it's hot as their AC always seem to be turned off. But either way come for the cream puffs. You won't regret it.

Beard Papa's puffs are tasty. The custard filling is much tastier than the traditional cream filling puffs. There are different flavors but I enjoy the original the best. Aside from the regular puff shells, they have other flavors now. The interior decor is inviting to sit and enjoy the dessert ordered here. The store was also selling other items like mochi ice cream and other desserts. The staff was friendly and prompt in assembling my puff order.

This place sells so many different types of desserts there is something for everyone. Bears papa has very fresh filling and lots of different flavors to choose from. There is a wide variety of mochi ice cream to choose from. The place has lots of seating for hanging out.

This place sells a really wide variety of desserts. It's been in Irvine for a very long time, and in my opinion, staying in business in one spot for that long in Irvine means the food is genuinely delicious. They have so many types of desserts, but I usually get the bingsu (shaved ice). This time, I tried the black sesame bingsu and wow... it was so good! It wasn't overly sweet, and it felt like it refreshed my entire mind in this hot summer heat~! The interior is spacious and they have two huge tables, so even if you go with a large group, there's plenty of room to sit comfortably. It's such a great spot with a diverse dessert selection where everyone can order exactly what fits their own taste! Highly recommended

Some treats to go!

Standard Beard Papa's. Place is spacious with plenty of seating for small and larger groups. Prices across franchises are definitely increasing over the years, but you sometimes just need that sweet fix. They do a good job of filling the cream puffs full of your choice of cream. Solid place for a hang out.

I came here two weeks ago. The store sign had the name Mochi Dessert Cafe that caught my attention. I didn't realize Beard Papa's was also part of the store until I saw a plaque on the window with the Beard Papa logo. I came for the mochi donut. I wanted to try the Ube flavor. I liked it. Ube is one of my favorite flavors. I would come back and try other mochi flavors. Service was fine.

Andrea L.

Yummy dessert to end the night. Not super sweet-- sweetness is just right. We got the original and ube. They run out of certain flavors at 9-ish pm, so come little earlier if you want like Oreo or more popular flavors. Service is good-- not too long of line and accommodating. Ambiance is casual. Lots of families, dates, and studying folks. Would come again!

Beard Papa's, is a very cute establishment in the plaza where Mitsuwa Irvine is located. Walking through the doors, the kids and I were in awe and immediately gravitated to the right where they had a wall theme of cats. Of course we took photos and talked about how the place had a fun and inviting atmosphere. Beard Papa's space is quite large with plenty of tables and seats with additional places to sit outside. The deco definitely gives you the happy feels. It's a cute place to grab dessert and chill with friends. Towards the back is where you will find the display cases for different desserts, as well as the cashier and some Asian toys or items for purchase. What we ordered; 1) Croissant Taiyaki with Nutella - I actually liked the texture of the croissant Taiyaki. It was buttery just like a croissant. It was different from other Taiyaki I've had but I enjoyed it. 2) Mochi ice creams - we had strawberry, which my kids didn't really like. They thought it tasted a bit like medicine. Mango, they favored this one much better. Matcha - it was ok for me. I felt like this didn't taste like true matcha. Overall, based on our experience, the deco, taiyaki and mochi, it was a 3 out of 5 stars for us. I would definitely return, but I probably would not do the mochi again. I may try those puffs or a drink instead. Ending our night out here was a fun and new experience.

Found this place through my daughter, and recommend everyone to try them out. I am not much of a cream puff person or cream stuff donut type of person. Pretty much the idea of anything stuff with something not my thing, but these puffs are amazing they have the perfect amount of stuffing in every bite and ingredients are good and taste fresh. What is great about these besides how good and soft the bread is that they have a variety of flavors to choose from as well. Staff was great and patient during my decision process on what flavors I wanted to get and answered all my questions.

Ask the Community - Beard Papa's

Are the ZZZ combos still available? Also, if any items are out of stock, are there are any restock plans? I don't want to drive all the way to the place and find out its all gone.

HI! see our ZZZ landing page to find out what stores have promo items. Please see our store in Korea Town in DTLA for all items. Call ahead to confirm.

Are cash paying customers welcome? I don't usually encourage my children to have credit/debit, Apple Pay.... any cards in general.

How long are the cream puffs fresh for? Would they still be good if I picked them up a day before let's say a birthday party?

I've purchased them and had some left over, they do get to tend to get hard after the second or third day.

Does Beard Papa's at this location accept Apple pay or Google pay(Android pay)?

Yes, we do accept Apple and Google pay.

The quality has just been so utterly consistent. These baked goods truly taste rustic and homemade; I believe the freshness is guaranteed and everything is baked daily. I always buy the shuku pan to make sandwiches my daily lunches and the country bread/sourdough for my avocado toast and breakfasts. The sandwiches made in-house are also recommended especially the chicken katsu and the assorted ham/tuna/egg salad. I like the croquette and egg salad in a bun especially. All of these are savory and flavorful yet subtle. I also recommend any of the pastries including curry pan, melon pan, and of course the strawberry croissants but beyond that I also really like the strawberry banana croissant and blueberry croissant. There is also a selection of drinks made in-house café-style as well as bottled Japanese drinks. The staff are friendly and I really like the space even though it's small. You can find seating outside especially if you avoid rush hours. Of all the three locations, this one is my favorite because it's so rustic and historic and really fits in with the overall vibe and aesthetic of Old Town Tustin and the El Camino Real. Please check this bakery out; it's one of the best in all of SoCal in my opinion.

It advertises itself as a more premium pastry brand and I don't mind paying a little more for quality pastries. For this last trip, it sorta fallen off a cliff for me. I got their cream puffs this past weekend and I was gravely disappointed. It had labeled a use date of 7/14/26 when I bought it on 7/11/26. I tried it with my wife today on 7/13/26 and the cream tasted sour... Wait, what? How??? Why??? We wondered whether it was a "new" flavor or something and realized that no, this just went bad. Granted that you are paying $12 for 6 of these, for $2 each puff this is not really acceptable at all. Sure, I called the store and they refunded me this purchase. By letting them know that they should probably throw away the rest of this batch, will this happen? The store clerk told me so, but who knows? The fact that you have to question premium stores really puts a sour taste in your mouth. It does make you wonder whether to come by again in the future or not. Only recently was I able to visit and try their croffles and other sweets. Did NOT know that this was inside the H Mart food court in Diamond Jamboree. Parking is horrendous and the driving there is horrendous as well. Probably the easiest and least horrifying option just to automatically default to is to just park in the overflow lot right next to the plaza. There's no indicator for the parking garage so on a particularly busy day, you can head all the way to the top, find nothing and navigate through the hell crowds trying to leave. Ambiance is a very casual, counter order business in the food court. There's seating there, but we ate really close by. Definitely something you have to eat immediately or the texture will not be optimal or it might get soggy. We got the tiramisu croffle and they toasted it and put it together for us there. The lady working there packed it up nicely in a to go box and we got some cookies (regular ones and almond crisp ones). It's a bit sweet, but they're dessert pastries so that makes sense. Goes great with a brewed cup of tea. Croffle had a nice semi-chewy texture and the tiramisu flavor added a bit of a coffee taste to it. Good balance of the cream and croffle. The cookie wasn't too bad either. Overall not a bad to go dessert spot.

I highly recommend everything they have - but just to name a new, the guava cream cheese, cinnamon cream cheese, mixed berry bateau, opera cake, vanilla scone, any of their croissants, lemon tiramisu, and the jamon sandwich is incredible - I love that the bread had a chewy texture, which is perfect for this sandwich. Adding any of the American condiments would almost be a sacrilege, but a bit of dijon is good, which they have there in packets- the flavours work so well together.
