After attending an event here, whenever I go into this mall I stop at bears pappas, yup it's that good especially when you get the pastry with ice cream in the middle mmmmm. Service is always good, helpful and quick.

The first time I had Beard Papa's was yearssss ago in Boston and when I heard that they had a location in Queens, I was so excited. This one is located on the basement level of Skyview Mall, towards the end where you would turn in for the supermarket. It's kind of easy to miss since they also share the space with Gong Cha. There's a few seats for you inside for those who want to eat it there but it's more of a grab and go item. They take your order and fill the shells with cream on the spot so it's basically made fresh to order. It also keeps the shell crispy so there's a lovely texture contrast when you eat it with the delicious filling. I love their cream puffs cause they don't skimp on the cream (it literally oozes out with each bite). I also love their flavored shells (taro, oreo, strawberry, etc.) cause the glaze is delicious and does capture its intended flavor. The cream inside is also yummy. I highly recommend eating it as soon as possible, if not immediately, for prime freshness. I usually eat it within minutes of getting it (especially in the summer when it's suuuper hot out) and it does not disappoint!

Beard Papa's cream puffs always have a special place in my heart. They're light, fluffy, and airy - basically, everything a cream puff should be. Over the years, I've sampled a variety of their small cream puffs, and they never disappoint. On a recent visit, I decided to try their green tea cream puff and strawberry cream puff. Both came out slightly cold, making them the perfect snack for a hot summer day. * Strawberry Cream Puff ($4.2) The best way I can describe this is like strawberry Pocky in cream puff format. Fluffy, light, and airy - it's like biting into a strawberry cloud. Didn't realize this was a limited flavor when I tried this but super happy I got it. Prefer this better than the green tea flavor. * Green Tea Cream Puff ($4.1) The green tea topping/glaze has a strong white chocolate taste rather than green tea. I was hoping for a bolder green tea flavor here. Good thing I filled it with green tea, which was pretty standard - think green tea Pocky vibes. If you haven't tried Beard Papa's yet, you're seriously missing out. These cream puffs are a dream come true!

Great cream puffs - they are so large and airy . I tried the basic recipe cream puff and one green tea cream puff. Both were really tasty. There are many chocolate topped ones for chocoholics. Price is pretty reasonable. Nice employees too !

Little shop hidden in the corner. Shared space. Light and airy cream puffs. Special flavors of the week? and the basic ones. Strawberry is seasonal flavor. Limited seating in the store. No wait service. Order and pickup at the counter. Cashier tries to be friendly and help

I don't remember the cream puffs being so cold. The green tea was flavorful but nothing special. The s'mores had vanilla custard and it was average. I liked that the custard is light, smooth and airy.

Awesome cream puffs! I love their custard-like cream filling with crunchy outside. Tried original and green tea flavor and both are really delicious!! Quick service and easy to walk in and take out your puffs of choice!

It's been a while but the food has never changed. My go-to cream puffs are: 1. Honey butter 2. Green tea 3. Oreo 4. S'mores I'm not into cream puffs like that but everytime in skyview i crave it and have to get it!

My friend grabbed these puffs on her way back from NYC. After an 4-hour drive, these puffs still tasted great. I don't really know the names of the puffs so I'll just break them down by color. Chocolate looking puff: the cream and the chocolate complement each other so well! The cream oozes out from the side after each bite. Green looking puff: the taste was good. This was the only puff that I heated it up a bit and the flavors are still there. Pink looking puff: my mom ate the pink one and said every bite was rich in flavor. I really liked the fact that each bite essentially had three layers of flavor: sweet, creamy, and a bit of a pastry taste on the bottom of each bite. When I visit NYC, I would love to try these puffs when they're hot and fresh!

It was a great reminder of when we had them in Japan! Not overly sweet, very fluffy and light, and the crust was flaky. It's inside the mall and seafood market so you will be surrounded by those smells. The service was very nice and helpful in our order.

This location of Beard Papa's is located downstairs in Skyview Mall, partially sharing its space/seating area with the Gong Cha next-door. Although it has a pretty small setup, the service was quite quick. There are some tables and chairs for indoor seating, but the chairs are very visibly soiled/dirty. Another thing to note is that you'll need to hit the $5 minimum before you can pay with credit card. Creme Brulee Puff with Vanilla Filling: At first glance, the cream puff is significantly smaller than what I'm used to during my visits to other Bears Papa's locations in the past, which was a bit disappointing. It was nice that the creme brulee portion of the puff was warm, in contrast to the cooler filling inside. The vanilla filling was not too sweet at all, which was pleasant.

Came here to try the chocolate cream puff with vanilla powder. It taste sweet and fragile. The texture was smooth. Service was good and the place is clean. Has many other options. Many flavours for cream puffs. Suitable for a small dessert.

We are very familiar with the area and must have walked passed this neatly tucked away gem without ever noticing it. Our son had mentioned that he and his friends have been going to a sushi place near Asian Jewel, our former dim sum go to place. When we sat down to order, my wife and I were quite impressed by how clean and cozy the restaurant was. Kind of on the small side with a few tables on the ground floor level. The menu offered cooked food as well as fresh sushi. We decided to start with the sushi & sashimi combo. They also offered a sushi or sashimi a la carte menu where you can choose to order by the piece. I believe that if you choose one of their standard menu sushi or sashimi orders and pay with cash, the a la carte price per piece of sushi / sashimi is only $1.35 / piece! Well we were famished and in addition to the sushi & sashimi plate we ordered two rounds of sushi & sashimi a la carte. Their salmon and yellow tail was so fresh and so scrumptious as was the sweet shrimp. The tuna was also very yummy and did not disappoint! When all was said and done we were quite happy with our experience with Yoi Sushi Japanese. I highly recommend Yoi if you're anywhere near Tangram Mall or Asian Jewel and have a hankering for yummy sushi. They also offer cooked food as well as ramen bowls.

The hot pot itself I think was average but the real standout for me was the appetizers. Seating in a booth tucked away in a corner on the first floor was a bit awkward to navigate. The sauce station downstairs was not well maintained and several items were out of stock, but that may have been because it was around 9PM. Second floor seating and sauce station are better. Food 4.5/5: Main complaint is that their menu is really confusing, despite this being my second visit. There are 4 pricing tiers. Everyone in a party has to choose the same one, so it can get pricey fast. Higher tiers include seafood and more premium wagyu cuts. You still get unlimited wagyu in the lowest tier but seafood is not included. I think this setup is fine because premium seafood items like lobster and crab tend to clutter the pot and are difficult to deshell while hot but also taste worse after cooled. Although the premium wagyu cuts do taste richer and "melt in your mouth," most of the fat is renders into the broth. Therefore, I don't think hot pot is the best way to enjoy wagyu, so the higher tiers didn't feel worth the price. The best part of the meal was definitely the appetizers and specialty dishes. The wagyu bone marrow was amazing and a must-try but only available to the second tier or up. Ambiance 3.5/5: I think being tucked away in a corner booth made the experience less enjoyable. The table was small for a party of 6, so we constantly had to rearrange dishes whenever new food arrived. It was inconvenient that everyone had to get up whenever I needed to refill my drink or sauce. Service 4/5: The first floor sauce station wasn't restocked throughout our stay so options were limited. Otherwise no real complaints regarding service to our table.

For our food we ordered the hako sushi, tornado omelette fried rice, trio tuna sushi roll, yakitori platter (ordered chicken gizzard and gyu harami on the side) and the A5 Wagyu cooked on the stone grill. I recommend getting the yakitori platter as it's a nice sampler but my husband especially enjoyed the chicken gizzard. My dad never had wagyu before so he especially loved the wagyu but I do think it's expensive for the amount they give you, I can see why it's pricier but just know before you order it's like $45 for 2.5 oz or in our case about 5 thin slices of wagyu. My brother said the tornado omelette was tasty and filling and he enjoyed it. The trio tuna sushi roll was very fresh. As for the service, I think everyone was pleasant but the vibes were a little off, it seems like they were just very exhausted. This doesn't affect the quality of the food or the experience but it was just something I noticed. They were still very attentive and provided great service. The reason for the one star off is because I do wish the Hako sushi had a bit more flavor, I saw so many different ingredients and fish but none of the flavors were impactful, it was rather one dimensional which was disappointing because it was presented so beautifully. Overall, I recommend giving Izakaya nana a try and I would definitely go again to try other things.
