Was walking around the plaza when we decided to try Beard Papa's for the first time on a Friday around 7pm. I got one dulce de leche cream puff and it was pretty average. I would have preferred a softer crème puff as the outside was dry and hard, so the cream would almost explode with each bite. I also wish there were more filling options for the shells as they only offer chocolate, vanilla, and green tea. One crème puff was about $5, which is a bit pricey. I was working nearby with the crew and I've been waiting to get my hands on a cream puff since the last time.. I knew nobody on my work crew has ever had one so I had to figure out how to let them experience the beard papa magic without breaking the bank. I bought 4 full sized puffs and 2 mini puff cups. I wasn't sure if the mini puffs were big enough from the pictures, because I've never had them. They were definitely shareable and loaded with flavor. There is no sacrifice in going smaller lol. It's located in a super busy shopping center so parking is plentiful yet scarce here. You'll have to make a round or 2 to park but it's not the end of the world. The product and service is definitely well worth it. There's plenty of variety and I haven't been let down yet. This isn't the cheapest guilty pleasure but you'll get your money's worth, for certain. Very seamless and fast experience visiting Beard Papa's in Cupertino! Parking lot is very very busy but was able to find a spot in the back. Staff was very friendly giving me a recommendation on a cream puff. I just got one of their classic custard ones. The crispiness of the crust of the pastry just compliments the custard inside. Custard isn't too sweet and subtle. I recommend getting a napkin because mine got a bit messy after I bit the pastry the wrong way. If you haven't tried Beard Papa's in general it's a must! But what I really didn't like is that, yes, you can place the order on the website, however, the earliest you can pick up is at 1:30 PM. Unfortunately, my lunch is around noon time and I cannot pick up in the afternoon close to my off shift hour. I had to drive and spend my lunch hour just to pick up these cream puffs. They are lucky, the cream puffs. Are that good for me to sacrifice my lunch hour just to pick them up. Personally, I think the original shell and cookie crunch shell with just the regular old vanilla filling will be the best combo. They fill the cream puffs after you order, so the shell is still a little crisp and the custard is insanely smooth with flecks of real vanilla in there, which I really appreciate. If you do purchase a bunch of them, be warned that cream puffs really are not a dessert that holds well.
