Thanks for your response. I'm pretty sure that I will end up trying it again this fall since it is right next to my school. However, a discounted or complimentary item would be appreciated. read more

I grew up near Boston and now live in San Francisco. I've had lobster rolls all over the country. But by far the best is at Beantown Pub! Great cole slaw too. read more

Took a while to find a table but it was Friday night so that's expected. The pool table area would have been cool but we didn't want to wait to get on a table. The service was fine but the draft beer I ordered was completely flat. They had also ran out of my first two beer choices and it was only about 10 PM. The draft beer selection in general wasn't very diverse unless you were looking for Sam Adams or Harpoon. The last straw was probably that the nachos we ordered were stale. Overall, not a good experience. read more

We wanted to experience a pub bar. When you advertise a foot long lobster roll bring it. It was abysmal. Didn't like one bit when you bring us half of that. It's on the menu as a foot long. read more

Such a great atmosphere, food and drink prices were very ideal given the average city prices. There were TVs everywhere and a lot of pool tables to keep you entertained, the wait for the tables weren't long either and the staff was great. read more

Good chill bar...I went on a Sunday so it wasn't too crowded. We ordered a vodka soda, a 7/7, and loaded nachos. I have nothing to complain about. The drinks were good (a little watery) and the nachos were yummy with the chili on top! The music was good...the people were chill...and we saw Star Wars afterward...I have nothing to complain about...lol looking for a drink and a snack? You'll love this place!? read more

Their Samuel Adams Boston Lager is a bit on the bitter side. Having experienced the brewery tour yesterday, I was looking forward to a nice cold brew. We also had calamari and wings which were better than average but service needed some improvement as the bartender charged us more beer than what we actually ordered. It could have been an honest mistake but it leaves a bad feeling when something like this happens. read more

Takes so long to order a drink, receive your drink, and pay for your drink. The people are nice and the location is solid but as many times as I have been in there, it's just not getting any better. It's a weird crowd. No real identity. Just a place to stop to watch the people-traffic go past. read more

Bartenders are wonderful and the beers are reasonably priced. You can drink and play pool.

It's not hard to mess up a bacon egg and cheese sandwich, but somehow it happened. Skip this one if you're looking for a dining experience, but the bar is fun. read more

My boyfriend and I traveled to Boston as a long weekend get away with no definite plans. On our first night there we traveled in to downtown Boston and walked around a bit. We stumbled in to bean town pub just to use the restroom and get a beer since you have to be paying customers.... and ended up staying till close. The atmosphere was great for a Friday night, good music and fun people to surround ourselves with. The bartenders Jamie and ryan were AMAZING. Kept us laughing and our drinks full the entire night! Reasonably priced and close to the T, definitely make this one of your stops while in Boston! We're sitting in the airport wishing we could go back to the beantown pub right now! read more

The Beantown Pub is a great establishment. Good selection of bar food and draught beer. Lots of TVs. The staff are friendly and attentive creating a comfortable and fun atmosphere. I've definitely been here late on a Saturday and things get pretty loud and crazy, but nothing you wouldn't expect from a fun spot next to Suffolk haha and other than that, it's always a laid-back vibe. read more

We made a point of going here. As the tour bus driver said, we wanted to toast Sam Adams grave with a Sam Adams beer. We went in the door and no one seated us. We found a place to sit and no one waited on us. We asked for menus and no one took our order. We noticed that the sandwiches looked kind of skinny and asked the smart phone, where can we get the best corned beef sandwich in Boston. It turns out that we can go just around the corner and get an amazing corned beef sandwich. We got up at Beantown Pub, walked out the door, walked around the corner and will never go back. read more

Fun spot, great energy. Large portions and fair price. Only concern.... Loud, worth it for a pub fare and fun.

I'll order all the lobster rolls this place can make. Delicious! Best I tried when I was in town. Bonus with the Granary Burying Ground across the street as it adds to the history of the place. read more

Great place to relax and enjoy a few good drinks while you are still able to hear your conversation with your friends. Bartenders are pretty funny and friendly, they make plenty of jokes and always make sure you get your drinks on time not matter how busy they are. My friends and I usually go there on sunday nights it's always fun. read more

Good drinks + friendly people + good mix of ages (mostly young professionals like me, yay!) = fun times! I give Beantown Pub two thumbs up and will forgive it for it's touristy name. read more

Thumbs down for breakfast for sure. Saw there was a special on their House Omelet and a Bloody Mary. Neither was very good at all. The omelet was really bad and the Bloody Mary wasn't much better. The Ingredients in the Omelet, Ham, Tomato, Mushroom, Onion did not seem fresh at all. Thank goodness for the 3 olives since I didn't hardly eat any of the omelet. The cool white toast (no choice) was served without butter on the toast and the butter on the side was solid/cold. Was recommended by a local buisness person on the street. Maybe they can do better with lunch or dinner but I won't give them another chance. Service was adequate and friendly. read more

This is a nice place to hang out with friends and enjoy affordable food, and pool. The location is great, I come here sometimes with by boyfriend after seeing a movie at Loews a couple of blocks down. Normal pub food, with New England classics like the lobster roll and clam chowder. Give it a whirl! read more

After my reading at the Tremont Tea Room (next door), my friend & I stopped in the Beantown Pub for a bit to eat. At first I was not the least bit impressed as the waitress that 'finally' brought us over menu's was really not in to being helpful.. AT ALL! Fortunetly, another waitress actually ended up taking care of us & she was great! The food matched our second waitress, LOL. I got the pastrami sandwich with coleslaw. The thing was HUGE! I didn't even come close to finishing it so i took it home with me. My friend got the meatloaf with mashed potatoes & she said it was as good as she'd heard. She can usually 'put it away' & had a really hard time finishing it all as there was that much food. Their prices are a tad bit high but then again, it is Boston so that's to be expected. Thankfully the food was worth the price. I'd so go here again & I'd recommend it to my other friends too. read more

Lobster rolls are unbelievable - enough to keep us coming back (it's the second time we've been there for the lobster rolls). Service was lackluster - we were ignored until we called the waitress over. But, if you like lobster rolls, the service can be over looked. read more

I work really close to this place and walk by it several times a day. I've worked here for nearly 10 years now, and that place has always emanated a nasty smell, and it's even kind of unbearable walking by on the sidewalk. It's like a dirty mop water smell with hints of bleach and old vomit. I could never bring myself to actually eat food in a place that smells that bad. read more

Beantown pub is always a stop for me when I come to Boston. My waitress was attentive and polite and the perfect place for me to watch the Belmont Stakes at. No Triple Crown this year. I enjoyed the Sam Adams beers only available in Boston there. I especially enjoyed the Sam Adams Beantown that is not bottled anywhere and served on draft at only the Beantown Pub, fantastic! I had the lobster roll and, WOW!!! So fresh and a huge serving, the lobster was so tasty. Worth the trip. Also, having a Sam Adams across from where he is buried is plus. 5 stars!! read more

I typically come here for the buffalo wings, because I am a pretty finicky person when it comes to them. It is a pretty intimate atmosphere with a rustic bar feel, I particularly enjoy it and they are generally quick for service. read more

Enjoyed their lobster roll which had a generous amount of lobster in it and the pool in the side room - I believe it was the average $2 per game? The waitress was attentive and checked up on my friend and I even though we were the only ones in the pool room. We were there on a Tuesday, which is why we were able to play 8 games in a row! A very comfortable atmosphere where you can relax and wear comfortable clothes. Not a place to impress a date but that's okay. Come here with your friends! read more

Stopped in Beantown Pub following the Freedom Trail Tour. It was a bit crowded which was expected on a Sunday (9/27) when the Patriots were playing. We were told that there would be a 30 minute wait for a table but we were lucky to catch people leaving the bar and sat there. The bartenders were friendly. My boyfriend and I both ordered burgers which were delicious. He's still talking about it 3 days later. It was a good choice for a quick bite to eat while watching the game and I'm sure we'd return for the food if we visit Boston again. read more

Just came back from a great Patriots Day celebration. All we did was drink this time. No food. Barmaid was great. Attentive and funny. Place was packed with post marathon people. Would highly recommend this place as a great drinking spot. read more

If you want bad music, loud crowds, and a poor craft beer selection, this is your place.

This place is really beat up and in many areas just dirty. The food is nothing special. These people need serious help. They are in a prime location but are doing nothing with it. They should re-structure the place because their current layout is killing them the place is too big for their own good the whole place should be set up as two different businesses a restaurant on one side and a bar on the other. read more

Great food, great service and excellent atmosphere!! Finally came in for lunch for the first time and had an awesome experience. Staff was friendly, and they had the olympics on. Have a lot to see inside and pool tables!! read more

BEWARE CREDIT CARD FRAUD! I was around the area for a meeting and decided to have a quick lunch here. I ordered a mozzarella wedge (GOOD) and a Caesar salad with chicken (TERRIBLE). How can you ruin something as basic as a Caesar salad? I know this is a place for beers and fried food, but seriously, thats the most common and basic salad...... Nevertheless the check was $24 dollars, and I paid with my credit card. I left a $3 dollar CASH tip, which I found pretty generous considering I was in and out, I ordered at the bar, and the salad was terrible. However, when I check my online banking, the waiter altered the voucher and added $4 dollars more. Apparently he believed he deserved a 30% tip. WTF? ***UPDATE****: after MANY calls to talk to a manager, they refunded the money back to the credit card. read more

Fun, easy to find. Disappointed with the baked beans. Tasted like they came from a can. Brown bread was great though.

Tourist pub. Went to watch the Red Sox. First, had to ask them to change the channel to the game. Second, no sound. They played country music the whole time. Not a Boston feel at all. Don't recommend. read more

Stopped by on a Saturday evening for some drinks with S.O. - very good place. Grabbed a place at the bar and just got to making friends - there were a lot of interesting characters: convention goers, business travelers, students. There were three pool tables and a second bar area with a black light. Overall, a fun place that will definitely be on the go-to list for downtown. read more

Checked this joint out both before and after seeing a show at the nearby Orpheum. Excellent central location right off Tremont and near the common. It had a nice cozy feel to it despite the busy game day crowd on Sundays. The crowd was great before and after the concert; I met a lot of friendly, like minded people. The juke box was great and everyone after the show was contributing and enjoying the selection. The prices were a little much for my taste and the food I had wasn't exemplary. The service was great despite the crowd. I would go back, but not to eat. Although I had a good experience, I think it was more of the people and environment than the bar and what it offered. It is worth checking out. read more

Came in for lunch today. Chowder is decent, fries and corned beef are absolutely amazing. Good atmosphere, great service!

Pool tables, Juke Box, Beer, Pub Food. If that's what you're looking for, than this is a perfect place. I visit here probably once a week for those reasons. Whether it's just me and a buddy, or a group, we get drinks quickly, have some good run-of-the-mill apps, and shoot pool. It's simple. Which, to me, means it's good. read more

I have frequented this establishment before, but last night I had a horrible experience. The door guy and the so-called "manager" (methinks he's a glorified promoter) treated me and my party of 10+ terribly. They had the worst attitude and when I asked for their name, they wouldn't even give it to me. They had a disgusting high and mighty attitude, thinking they were better than everyone else. If I could give a zero for their appalling customer service, I totally would. Avoid at all costs on a Friday night! read more

I went with a group, the bouncer... what an attitude... the bartenders... in their own world... bad customer service

I was very impressed with the lobster roll. Truly, the best in Boston! Bean town Pub stands true to it's name. It is a friendly rustic pub...it is the real deal in Boston. Sweet staff! read more
