Stayed in bldg 3 Hotel elevator has no ventilatiion it was horrible I was soaked when we got to the room and extremely uncomfortable with Covid! Told desk nothing was done. And for this they are charging u $25 to perk in there outside lot. Fix the AC In the elevator. It is over 90 Outside. What a disgrace. Run down. I was very upset over the elevator from the garage to the room floor. Had presidential suite too. It wa ok. No paper towels.... No napkins. A lot of $. Just came back from our Key West vacation!!! We had the best experience at this location!!! The entire staff was friendly and welcoming! The shuttle drivers were knowledgeable and courteous! The dining room servers were very attentive every day! The rooms were gorgeous no problems there and the view was gorgeous as well! The concierge helped guide us book a sunset cruise which we thoroughly enjoyed!! All in all a great experience that will never forget!!!!!!! read more

Excellent hotel, great stay, based on my experience i would definitely stay here again! Since the moment we walked in for the check-in the front desk staff was beyond friendly and helpful, we were also greeted with a delicious complimentary glass of champagne. We then parked our car (keep in mind they have a $25 daily parking fee) and proceeded to our room, beautiful room, spacious, clean and very cozy. The bathroom has lots of light and a magnifying mirror on the side which is excellent for us women, to put our makeup on! And a huge bathtub. We had no view from our room which isn't very important to me because the time i spent inside the room is actually minimal but if that's what you are looking for... they have plenty of rooms with ocean view. The hotel says is beachside... please keep in mind the beach access is very small, but they have kayaks and paddle boards for rent. Is more like beach access but If you want to enjoy beach in the keys in a more deep way I recommend you walk to the beach from outside the hotel. We had a snack at the pool bar and it was surpassingly good, they don't have a very large menu, but they do have good cocktails, we tried their shrimp pizza and it was delish!! The Marriott has a free shuttle to Duval Street that departs the hotel every hour and picks up for return every hour and 25 minutes (on the dot! be very puntual!) we had an amazing time in key west and received excellent service at the Marriott. This hotel was clean and accommodating and was perfect for a quick weekend stay in the keys! Rooms were beachy, upgraded, and beds were very comfortable. About a 10 min drive from downtown key west and a 6 min drive from the Garrison Marina. The hotel has a shuttle to the airport every 30 min and a downtown shuttle every hour in the hour. We did the Buffett breakfast in the morning which was amazing! Make your own omelette and waffles ready to order or you can do the general Buffett which is eggs/bacon/sausage/potatoes! This place ruined my 32th anniversary vacations from the minute we set foot in that nightmare hotel. From the beginning, Bad attitude from the staff & management. The front desk individual name Ray, had the worst attitude we have encountered In a hotel in my life. Made us feel like we were his servants, very disrespectful, no respect what so ever, very aggressive in a negative way, hostile, challenging, arrogant, in other words, a person who should NOT be doing that kind job. The room looked like a walking closet. Not enough towels, not beach towels, no shampoos or conditioners. No shower cap, no bath rugs, OMG, not even the essentials. Mind you, this is a very pricey hotel and a Marriott. On our front door, a giant roach was entering our room, I really don't know why we didn't run away from that place. Shame on us, we should have... The staff on the restaurant were very unprofessional and didn't know what they were doing. Only Nikki & Amy were excellent because they felt bad for us. The manager chose not to get involved, that makes her a mediocre team leader without leadership. Now, the shower was amazing, one of the best... the bath tub great as well! Was looking forward to the hotel but have to say I was kind of disappointed. I have lifetime elite status so usually I'm pretty brand loyal, and usually they treat me well. Pro: room was very nice and location is good. Con: Pool was really crowded and smaller then expected. It took me forever to put in an order for drinks/food at the pool. What really bothered me though was the checkout. Normally I would have received a 4pm checkout. I even received an email from Marriott stating because of my status I'd get a 4pm checkout. Well you can forget that, they do not honor it whether rooms are available or not. I spoke to Robert Lamberson (director of rooms) who just blamed Marriott for their generic email. Also, just FYI. there is no executive lounge and at least my room didn't have anything but 2 half sized bottles of water. Kind of expect a bit more for $500 a night. read more

So, I'm at a little bit of a loss for this review. Going in, I thought I would hate it. Due to my work travel, I am a Starwood/Marriott Platinum member. While I don't expect special treatment, what happened prior to check-in was odd. Considering my loyalty to the brand, we were limited in options for our Key West visit. All the rooms were expensive - in the $300ish range including taxes - and considering I rarely travel for pleasure I wanted to use my "Suite Night Rewards" for an upgrade. The hotel wouldn't allow me to use my rewards, BUT they did feel it was appropriate to send me an email prior to check in asking if I wanted to pay for an upgrade. They claimed it was "due to the high demand" etc. The catch... I could upgrade my room for an additional $150 a night, which when combined with what we were already paying WAS MORE THAN IF I CANCELLED AND REBOOKED WITH THE "UPGRADED" ROOM. Needless to say, I never responded to the email, and we expected a terrible room on arrival. But, no. They put us in a wonderful suite with a full kitchen. And on top of that, the giant hotel was empty. For the initial shake down, I want to give them 1 Star. But, the room was great, and the vast majority of the staff super friendly. I guess my problem is with the management that feels it is appropriate to send emails like the one I received. read more

A word of caution.... If you can stay here using your Marriott points I would recommend it otherwise you may be better off at another hotel. The room was great and we were facing the gulf and had a great view. The name is a little deceiving as there no beach as the name implies but the pool area was nice. However be careful and check your bill to resolve any issues before you leave. I was charged a lot more than I should have been and upon checkout I was told the bill would be covered. I received the full bill a week later and the General Manager's response was "I received incorrect information and I have to pay the bill". That to me is dishonest. I plan to visit Key West more frequently but will not say at this hotel again. I would say the bottom line is this hotel would not be worth paying full price for and I wish I would have stayed somewhere else. read more

This was probably one of the most disappointing visits on a Marriott property; we generally book with Marriott because we know we get some (comfort) assurances when we stay at a property. However, at over $600 per night (during this peak timeframe), one would expect service to be top notch. It lacked the Marriott reputation and guarantees in all possible ways. In addition to the room charges and taxes which are exorbitant, and instead of the resort fees, there is now a "destination" fee: it includes airport transportation, shuttle to downtown/Duval street, WiFi - very basic for $42 (plus tax) albeit it is stated upfront, the charges are absolutely not worth it. Garage parking is separate; airport shuttle only operates 8 a.m. - 11 p.m. Understandably, housekeeping service is extremely limited but still ... the general clean up of the property was practically non-existing. The elevators were never cleaned/wiped down during this stay (same finger/handprints and ichy gooey grime all over the wall and doors). Practically waited in line at the front desk for water bottles each time. I would suggest a cooler where guests and serve themselves. In general, the beds were slightly harder than usual, and the layout of the rooms were somewhat odd. There is no bathroom counter around the basin/sink - no place to put toiletries. The shower is a walk-in but use caution because the overspray from the shower could get the floors wet. At least in this building, the rooms appeared to have been once suite and broken down to 2 individual rooms: Room #A and #B that had a vestibule (for lack of a better description). This is inconvenient because the guests occupying the other room/suite, would open their door, close (slam) shut and then again, the door to the vestibule. I do credit the front desk staff and bellperson, they were professional and accommodating when asked. read more

I was worried that this hotel was going to be too far away, but it was perfect. The hotel has ample amounts of parking and checking was very easy. The facility is very clean and the staff is very helpful as well. I was worried about spending as much as I did, but gotta get those points right? Chair s you can not lay on with holes you can't sit on. Breakfast was a joke. Disgusting sausages looked like curved old toenails. Blood Mary toxic. Way to far from the center of fun. Very over priced for what it is. I travel a lot and stay at a variety of Marriott chain hotels and this has been the biggest disappointment of them all. Assuming that you have the presidential suite, you would think that you would have the best room with the best view of pool/courtyard/ocean, but that is not the case. Our view was the road, power boxes and the trees trying to block the power boxes. The couch and a chair had stains and as well as a decorative pillow. The staff is great when they get back to you. (Shuttle staff is amazing!) Our room was not cleaned one day, even after requesting it to be and making sure that the privacy tag was not on the door. Having a boat, van, and shuttle bus to town as well as the airport is a plus. Beach access was a joke and should not be listed on the website. I really had high hopes for this stay, and was let down. They also stated that there would be a roll away bed available to us, however at check in they told us that they don't have have any in the property. Our carry out at the hotel restaurant was never put in after it was taken over the phone, when we went down to get it, they said that they wouldn't be able to fulfill the order for another 2.5 hours. They never let us know until we went over to pick it up. Like I stated, not worth the money. I've stayed at plenty of places over the past 2 years that have experienced issues due to covid, however for the amount of money you pay to stay here, this place is not worth it. I wish I would have read the reviews before booking. I would have taken my $800ish a night to somewhere else. First of all the location of this property is awesome I stayed at the property for three weeks I would offer the following comments in hope that they would improve for other guests. To begin with there is a $42 daily resort fee and many places charge a resort fee however at this property I noted that there have been prior comments from a year ago about the lawn chairs around the pool and on the beach. They are very worn and guests are sitting on the crossbars of the chairs with most of them being incredibly soiled. On many days, there were not enough chairs, or you had to wait several hours to get one. I questioned this at the front desk I was told that due "to budget cuts" as a result of Covid they could not afford to replace them at this time. For a resort of this caliber that should not even be an issue. I was told that the resort fee did not include getting lawn chairs or towels by the pool I question why that is when at every other Marriott resort that is the case. Yes, you could not even get additional pool towels because there were none. I was told the resort fee was only for the shuttle downtown, to the airport and the Key West express boat. The shuttle ran several times a day however was always packed and at some points another couple told me their children who were 19 years old had to ride on their laps because there was no space. The eXpress boat runs only 3 times daily. Based on the this I find the resort fee excessive, especially since I did not use any of those. Why were you packing a shuttle bus if COVID was an issue? No safety measures which should have limited guests. When I checked in there were two lines. For over 30 minutes one of those lanes was taken up by four people waiting for a room who were being served champagne at the front desk while the rest of us stood in line....because their room was not ready at 4 pm... and they were offered an upgrade as a result. As a lifetime elite member and frequent traveler at Marriott's properties I could not believe that they did not ask the people to step aside and wait on other guests...yet there we all stood. I was never recognized as a frequent Marriott traveler. No upgrade not once. This property used to offer a wonderful buffet breakfast based on Marriott status. When I checked-in for my 22 day stay I was offered only 1000 bonus points ...no not per day. How exactly does that equate to breakfast for 2? I find this odd since other Marriott resorts serve breakfast not only through the Covid crisis but are continuing to offer that amenity to their elite guests currently. Not at all Marriott standards. Again "the budget cut" words are ringing in my ears! During my stay I did not have maid service and would take out my own garbage etc. I would recommend that they recognize people in someway for saving them money on this amenity while keeping their staff safe from Covid. On a positive note the rooms are beautiful, the views are beautiful if you pay for the ocean view it is well worth it. I hope Marriott corporate looks at this and does something about it! read more

I am very dissatisfied with the Director of Operations, Marina Banciu's response regarding a 25% military rate increase after booking three months in advance. I booked a three night stay for early October on 8/11/22 for $208/nt, Marriott increased their rate to $289/nt on 9/14/22. Their response was we have the right to increase our military rates based on the US General Services Administration. Be VERY leery about this hotel and it's management, they could care less about our Military or Bonvoy members. read more

Travelers need to realize that Covid has changed everything about our daily lives. Since the Keys shut down and this is a hospitality location, many folks left the area. Arrived to the hotel about 2:00 pm and was told our room wasn't ready. Ok, we were early so fine. We were told the room would be ready by 4:00 and we had been upgraded due to elite status. Went to the pool bar to hang out and checked back in with the front desk about 3:20. I was told the upgraded room still wasn't ready but I could have my original room with a "pool" view if I wanted it. We decided that would be fine and took our original room. The "pool" view wasn't as advertised to say the least. Our room view looked down into a clump of bushes with rather large iguana walking around. I stay about 60 nights a year at Marriott properties and can usually gauge what I'm purchasing from the website. This one really threw me. Seems like a nice property but this stay was not what I thought I had reserved. Lesson - You should make sure you know what you're actually getting before you pay top dollar. read more

We stayed here for 8 days. We had a Presidential suite that was fully stocked with everything you need to cook. Full size dining room table, the kitchen had a full-size subzero refrigerator (although a little difficult to open at times), an oven, stove top, microwave and all utensils/pots/pans to cook. It even has a dishwasher, garbage disposal & washer/dryer). The room was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The tub was big (with jets), the shower big enough for two. We were supposed to have resort views but completely blocked by trees (bummer), no room service for at least seven days (so you're stuck with the daily phone call to housekeeping asking for towels, toiletries, etc (what a pain). I fell twice due to the slick floors along with our lil guy falling regularly (they're really slick when wet). The bathrooms did have a sewage smell the whole time we were there - was told rooms weren't used that often so it happens. The sliding glass has a step you need to step over and of course we had a lot of trip ups with this one. Our lil man fell at least twice a day. The Concierge (blonde lady) very helpful and very friendly. She helped us find a luggage cart (they don't have many so you're lugging everything up/down stairs). Why would you close the pool bar before sunset? This just blew our mind. If we wanted another drink we had to go inside (which was busy) and when we got back it was almost dark. Very frustrating. We're Platinum members but don't think you're getting perks here - we weren't even recognized as lifetime platinum members. It's a nice hotel but not sure I'd pay the same rate. It's not close to downtown at all. You can walk it but you'll be exhausted by the time you got there. read more

This hotel may not be the fanciest on the island, but its cleanliness was above most hotels! From the moment we walked in to register till we checked out was above our expectations. The housekeeping team does an amazing job! They deserve recognition for how great of a job they do. Everything was so clean and tidy. The entire property is maintained well. I would highly recommend this hotel for those who are going to Key West. It definitely made our vacation more relaxing knowing that everything was sanitized before we got there. This is the biggest waste of money I've ever spent at a resort. When you drop $600+ a night on a room you expect a certain level of service. I didn't expect to have to walk down the street to enjoy a pool bar and a place to sit. The beach front area this hotel boasts about is a joke. 50ft of rocky shoreline that you can not swim in. The resort apparently has jet ski and kayak rentals, but the 4 days we were here it was never open. If you are unlucky enough to stay here I recommend walking 4 minutes down the road to Rum Row. They will actually be open and willing to serve customers. And last but not keast, Town N Tavern. Apparently thee best restaurant in Key West. The food is over priced and lacks flavor. If you want steak, spend half the money and go down the road to outback. read more

Was feeling a bit adventurous today,so decided to stay overnight in Key West. I found a great deal for the night here so I booked it without a second thought. So happy I did! The room is amazing. When entering the room there is a sense of opulence. All the feelings of being in your own home are present. The room is extremely clean. King size bed is super comfy . The pool area is amazing. The hotel offers beach access. But not really beach more like Bay. Even still watching the sunset was priceless. Also offered is a shuttle to Duval street. First time at this property although a 22 year Marriott loyalist. Check-in was efficient, friendly and fast. Unfortunately we were set up in a room which was smaller than most 3-Star hotels in Paris. This one overlooks the lobby driveway, not a great location. Day 2: this is apparently a property built as condos, so the pool and sunning area were built to accommodate smaller crowds. By 10am every chair was taken. There is a very small sandy area with chairs, (not much of a beach), but Key West is NOT known for beaches. We did go on a jet ski tour with Fury Tours which is on property-had a blast. read more

I would highly recommend this place To anyone. Clean and friendly. The staff are some of the friendliest in a hotel that I've came across. The pool staff is insanely accommodating. They come around and serve you fresh fruit and cucumbers for your eyes. Along with spritzing your feet and cleaning your sunglasses for you. They have a free shuttle to duval street which is the hot spot here, it runs on the hour every hour and last pickup is at 11pm. A cab ranges from 12-15 bucks. The restaurant was the only diner I wasn't impressed with for Breakfast. I recommend getting the buffet for 18 bucks. All in all, a great place and would stay here again. read more

I had to go to the front desk twice and ask for bars of soap and hand towels. They don't clean for 7 days because they are t o cheap to pay their employees. Both restaurants aren't open at the same time, I'd Very inconsistent one day they allowed my Instacart to delver to my door. The next time I get a call that my stuff is at the front desk and I have to pick it up. Barely got the minimal in services and we are ambassador level with bonvoy. That didn't mean a damn thing to them. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. They had the nerves to deliver a welcome note to our room from the Ambassador Team. What a joke !!!!! read more

My son & daughter in-law had their beach wedding here last March, everything was wonderful!! The condos were awesome, we were upgraded at no extra cost to a 3 bedroom with the most perfect view of the resort & ocean! The condos are 1st class with all the luxury amenities to go with it. Pool was great & big enough, only 1 bad thing, people would sneak in to use it with lots of kids that were not staying there. They need to police it better. The wedding was great also, they met everything my son & wife wanted! The reception & food was wonderful! They did a great job! When we go back to Key West we will always be staying here! read more

I decided to stay at this property because if the pool photos and the implication there is a beach on or near the property. There is no beach where you can lay on the sand and go swimming. This was completely misleading. Also, I am a top tier rewards member with a competing brand and gave up a nicer room and more of a resort to stay here. This was a huge disappointment. The Mariott is not a resort by any stretch of the word. This is a hotel with small rooms, older buildings, a pool with a pool bar, and a view if a Harbor. This was over priced and not a resort. The $42/day resort fee is not worth it. read more

This property is partially owner/rentals and the one bedroom layout is excellent. However the entrance is via the garage which is a bit unsettling to enter at night as there is no apparent security provided. There are different buildings, non attached with similar garage entrances. The pool area is lovely as are the water views. Staff are uniformly nice, helpful and respectful which is a rarity. I encourage visiting Key West because the area is still recovering from hurricane Irma. read more

Ok, first of all- if you can afford the suite, get the suite. It is 100% worth it. The rooms are really nice (we stayed in a 1 bedroom suite), the staff are lovely and the facilities are clean. The reason I can't give them 4 stars is because of the food options, and the quality of the "beach" managed by the hotel. When it comes to food- if you are vegetarian, there is exactly one dish you can have from the full dining menu, and one starter you can have from the pool side menu. If you are vegan- bring snacks. My husband who eats meat, felt that his food was ok, but not for the prices they charge you. So after that first day, we ate out for the rest of our stay. When it comes to the beach- as others have mentioned, it's a very small, rocky beach, and it's definitely not suitable for any sort of swimming. At the most you can lounge on the sand, and maybe dip your toes in the water. But keep in mind that the beach is very small, doesn't get cleaned very often, and is backed up against the garage/gym and hotel balconies. So you are no more than 5 feet away from parked cars and people lounging on their balconies, which doesn't really scream "relaxing" to me. If you are coming here to relax on the beach, I would instead recommend heading over to the Fort Zachary beach, which is only 20 minutes away, and is a lot nicer. BUT, looking past those two issues, the rest of the hotel is great, and we will definitely be coming back! read more

No view isn't a problem, but I've never stayed anywhere without a microwave in the room....this seems like they're trying to force you eat at their overpriced restaurant here at the hotel. I am a Titanium Member with 815 nights stayed at multiple properties. I am sure that there are many nice rooms on this property but in my case the one I received was very dark and the window views were the side of another building. I asked for a different king suite and the front guest hostess said all their King rooms are exactly the same. I asked if there was one with at least more light and I was told no they are all the same. I tend to doubt this but that is what I was told. I also got the feeling that they did not want to do the work to move me. So my advice on this property is to make sure the room you get is not a King. Make sure you get a balcony and are clear with your room placement. If I come back to the Keys I will find another property to stay at. Basically I could have booked a Hotel Room anywhere as this one was mediocre. read more

What was supposed to be a fabulous stay at another awesome Marriott property (coming from a Lifetime Titanium Elite member) turned out to be a complete failure. The customer service at the front desk was horrific, the property was filthy, and it's almost as if they deserted themselves during the past 12 months and made no effort to tidy the place up since travel is opening up. The standard room consisted of a 200 sq. Foot box with no view. Couldn't even open the blinds without exposing ourselves to any and everyone walking by. I realize an upgrade wasn't available during my stay (I forfeited 210,000 points for 3 nights). What a mistake. They need to close down for 6 months and either level the property or spend several million and tidy up this place. I will make sure my friends and family NEVER stay here. read more

For starters... we went to check in to find out that the shuttle service listed on the site "is no longer offered". The front desk attendant could tell we were upset because we would have never booked the hotel knowing we'd have to Uber everywhere.
