Hey little did I know that I would be traveling to Key West when it was 97°. Little did I know that the scavenger hunt we were on would take us literally 90 miles to accomplish. I am a Midwestern girl, so I am no idea what heatstroke was all about. I found out real quick oh, and that is when we found JV Rental. The gentleman behind the counter was as sweet as sweet could be. He understood our predicament very well, and it was literally less than five minutes from filling out the paperwork to taking off in our golf cart. We were a group from Margaritaville and Margaritaville has electric golf carts, so driving a gas, golf cart was a bit different, a little rougher, but all in all the experience was amazing. Easy to rent golf cart. Earlier opening time and after hour drop off if needed. Was a little pricier than some others but we chose them because they were normal size gas carts, not electric, not too small. Would recommend. We did 24 hrs to allow us more time to explore even after they closed. read more

I wanted to rent a scooter but all out and only few beach bicycles were left. They charged only $10/day. Bikes were good condition and he provided us locks too. Rented a two seater golf cart. "Owner" up front not friendly at all. I may have been overcharged not sure. The two young men who assisted us were AMAZING!!!! I hope this up front person realizes the jewels he has working in the clenches. The golf cart was noisy as all heck, but maybe they all are. This was our 1st rental and it got us where we needed to go. Nonetheless, I prefer more friendly service when I approach an establishment and spend over $250. Will not be back here. The young man who helped us was very kind and professional. We were thinking we'd want two scooters to share amongst 4, including my two daughters, one who's only 12. He kindly recommended that we consider the 4 person cart, which we ultimately chose. We were going to keep only the duration of that day, but decided to keep another 1.5 days. He was more than accommodating and even provided the first day full through midnight only charging 4 hour rate. Just a great little shop and their vehicles seem well maintained. Only hiccup was that the wiper rattled loose and fell off while driving, but we recovered all parts and placed in the storage area when returned after hours. I do not have enough words to describe how wonderful this place is. Both Janine and Erin were wonderful. They made sure that we were very well taken care of. The bikes that we rented ($22) for a full day that comes with locks are very comfortable and well taken care of. Bike lock key fell off wristlet key ring while riding bikes. Bike was locked to bike rack directly across the street from rental facility. Went the next morning to explain what happened. Rental company then decided to charge me a fee to cover the cost of a new Lock and an additional day of rental fees. Ridiculous that they would charge additional fees. The guy was a rude jerk. It's not the money... it's the principle and certainly no way to run a business. The lock and extra day rental fee cost me more than the initial payment for renting 2 bikes for the day. For $10, no reservation, and less than 4 minutes, I was on a bicycle exploring Key West with the wind in my hair. The freedom of not having to park a car and waste gas to help preserve an island paradise was bliss. Let me be clear, though: these are not luxury bikes. These bikes drink whiskey and dog-ear their copies of Hemingway. They prefer shortcuts through dark alleys and stagger home at ungodly hours with uncombed hair. These bikes don't always remember to wear sunscreen but when they do, they miss a spot. They may have even snorkeled with sharks before you rented them. These bikes don't make small talk but do carry your stuff without complaining, so 10/10. read more

During the Off Shore Boat races, last November, a very crowded week, the guys at JV Rent'All somehow came up with two scooters when all the other rental shops were out! They actually gave us the owners! We had a blast. Unfortunately we received a ticket outside one of the restaurants where there were over 50 scooters parked. Long story short, we paid the (bogus) $25 ticket after we got back to Ohio but noticed a $75 charge through JV Rental a couple weeks later. After a couple calls we got it all straightened out although it looks like Key West Police Department has a nice little income stream, taking advantage of vacationers, by charging the actual rental company as well when they don't receive payment on the ticket immediately. So be careful where you park down there and make sure you use JV Rent'All. Good company, better people!!! read more

Anniversary vacation! Big thanks to entire rental crew! We appreciated the hotel pick up and drop off. We rented gas golf cart for two full days and it was best decision. What a great island transportation! They made sure that our stay was fully enjoyable. It was my first time to Key West and while it appears small on a map, it's bigger than you think. The two other couples we were with quickly decided we needed to rent some form of transportation and settled on a six-person golf cart. We stumbled onto JV Rent'All as it's right downtown, just off Duval St. The staff was great and made the rental process quick and painless. The golf cart itself was in great condition and ended up being a great solution for getting around and seeing Key West. So with all the positives why the less than positive review... I'll start by saying I blame myself for going against my better judgment and trusting the JV staff to keeping my valuables safe. At the same time many other businesses and tours pride themselves on helping keep your valuables safe. If its something you're going to suggest and offer you have be able to back it up So one of the added benefits to JV's location was their free private parking lot in the heart of it all. The parking lot was behind the building so there was no real street or foot traffic to it. We ended up using the lot the night of our sunset tour and I told the staff member that I had a Bluetooth speaker in the golf cart. I asked if I should take it or if it would be safe in the glove box out of sight. They told me any time I parked on the street I should take everything but on their lot my stuff would be safe. They had a person who watched the lot after hours but because of the location no one would be back there. Unfortunately I took his advice and left it, only to come back 3 hours later to find it gone. When I brought it up to the staff member watching the lot he was more "oh well" about the situation. This clearly upset me because I left the speaker based off the staff assurance that it would be safe and because you could clearly see there was little to no access to this lot. Additionally, they had a person sitting in the entrance to the lot (not really a security guard, more like a hired older local). When I looked around the lot there were another 6 carts that looked just like mine so whoever took the speaker either knew it was there or had a ton of time to search each cart. Factor in cameras watching the lot but no one could give me any feedback on what happened... I'm not point blame but rather disappointed that it was recommended I leave it and then got no real empathy when they couldn't support their "secure lot". Many other Key West businesses support and value their ability to watch your valuables but JV Rent'All was more concerned with renting me a cart and getting my money. After spending over $400 I would have hoped that at the very least they would have been more apologetic or empathetic to my situation. Even asking me what they could do to make it right. They did a great job renting me the cart and the cart was great in great shape. They also did a great job in helping get my speaker stolen. I'd probably not leave anything valuable there or rent from another company where prices are about the same and they aren't going to mislead you with services they can provide. read more

Rented a golf cart that was in perfect condition. Returned the golf cart to the company in the SAME condition as when we received it. Were unknowingly charged $410.68 for what they claim was a broken windshield. There was NO broken windshield. Will keep posted on the outcome. Just wanted to give two thumbs up for JV Rental. I had originally booked another company that was a tiny bit closer to our hotel. But then I realized they were a bit more expensive. Spoke with JV owner. He couldn't have been more helpful & simply delightful to talk to. A week before our trip was to begin, I called him & asked if he had a good tip for a taxi service that we could use to & from the airport. He was wonderful! He said that because we were using them, they would gladly pick us up & take us back to airport! Seriously? Wow! If you are anything like us, & on a tight budget, that really saved us some $. It was our first time in key west & we were very excited to visit! We traveled with 3 other friends who had been there multiple times. We were told by our friend, who goes to key west every year for the last 15yrs, to rent scooters because it is the best means of transportation on the island. Due to parking being scarce & the ease of movement throughout the island, we agreed to renting the scooters. The funny thing was, was that everyone I mentioned it to about renting from JV Rent'All kind of frowned when I told them we were utilizing their services. I didn't think much of it since no one really said anything specifically bad about the company. We picked up the scooters the night we landed in key west just before JV Rent'All closed. The staff seemed fine but in a hurry, so they never offered us helmets or rental of helmets. We rode around that night without an issue & then the next day we headed out for lunch on the scooters. While riding along, my wife ran off the road & in to a wall. She had to be airlifted by helicopter to Miami due to her serious injuries. We had not even been in key west for 24 hours yet.... Granted my wife crashed the scooter & we were liable for the damages, especially since we signed the paperwork. BUT...., JV Rent'All decided they would take us for another hellish ride while we were trying to recover from the accident. They charged us not only for the damages to the scooter, which barely had any damage to it, but also slapped us with an outrageous towing fee & then continued to charge us for a full week of rental fees. (my scooter was returned the day after the accident & obviously her scooter was decommissioned) The bill was over $2k. The police report stated minor damage to the scooter & my friend who was with us, performs motorcycle repairs, also stated there was minimal damage. The towing company utilized, was only a mile from the accident, yet we were charged an unbelievable amount for towing. When I contacted JV about all of this & asked for a manager, everyone who answered the phone said they were a manager & gave me a complete run-around. Now, I understand, I signed a waver & that I was responsible for damages. I was willing to pay with-in reason, but to be taken advantage of by this establishment while dealing with this horrific accident, is beyond comprehension. I DID want to pay a fair price for what was due, but I was told by 2 people from JV that the scooter was "totaled". Yet, I received a bill stating that I had to pay over $1200 for repairs to a supposed "totaled" scooter. Plus I was told I had to pay for a brand new scooter to replace the one that was "totaled"! Long story short, I would not recommend this company to anyone for any reason. Let your conscious be your guide, but watch out for this establishment!!! read more

So glad to have found this gem! It's located two seconds off the main strip, Duval. They have convenient parking out back so you can park and browse Duval street without struggling to find parking. they were extremely accommodating- we wanted a gas powered golf cart (vs. the electric which don't have much power and have to be charged 8-10 hours) but they wouldn't have another one for a couple hours. So, they gave us an electric cart to use for a couple hours until the gas cart came back. We went to A&M (where we've rented from before) and they were nice and told us if our car ran out of power we could swap it for another one.. if they had one available. We went to Tropical and they flat out told us if our electric car ran out of gas then too bad. JV Rent'All was solution oriented, incredibly friendly, picked us up and offered to drop us off. They were fantastic. Can't say enough about them! read more
