My family and I rented 2 electric golf carts and it was really fun and we enjoyed our time but that wasn't the issue. The issue was when we went into the warehouse to get our golf carts, it was only one worker behind the counter, we were infront of these 2 couples that then skipped us and she ended up helping them first. After we spoke up, she helped us. It was a girl with brown hair, kinda tall-ish. Also, we paid for 2 electric golf carts and then she said she didn't have anymore...but by a miracle, this other girl that was KILLING IT! SAVED THE DAY! Short blonde, super cool :) She speeded up the process and luckily she had electric golf carts for us! read more

My husband and I saw a sign when we disembarked from our cruise ship that was advertising golf carts. Niall assisted us with renting one from Hydro Thunder. He provided two options, but we ultimately went with Hydro Thunder due to the price and being okay with walking about 15 minutes to the pickup spot. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, and we didn't have much of a wait. The golf cart was a lifesaver and allowed us to visit everything we wanted to see while in Key West. We didn't have any issues with our golf cart, and the entire process was smooth. We highly recommend renting a golf cart from them! read more

Our golf cart was clean and did its job but honestly our ride from and back to the hotel with Dawnica was the highlight of our experience. Very down to earth and we all vibed the entire ride! read more

Me, my husband, and a friend wanted to go to a museum on Fri May 30th around 3:30pm. As we were walking out of our hotel, the Hyatt Centric, we decided we should get a golf cart because we wanted to get there pretty quickly to have more time to spend there. We went up to the booth and asked the gent how much for 2 hours for 3 people. He explained their minimum was 3 hours and that it would be a four seater, which was fine. But then he told us it would be $750. For a golf cart. For 3 hours. We declined and walked instead. As we walked, we thought that price didn't make sense so we asked the hotel for a rate sheet the next morning; it was $90 for 3 hours for a 4 seater, not $750. The gent was either trying to rip us off, or he didn't like us, not sure which. Be sure to book through the hotel, at least one of their staff is okay with trying to overcharge you. read more

Manny at 0 Duval St helped us out on two different days, super charismatic guy with a wealth of knowledge about the island. Renting a cart for a few hours was the perfect way to explore quickly and easily. read more

Easy rental and good electric golf cart. You can feel confident renting from them. Staff were really nice too.

rented at 0 Duvl Street. They didn't have the exact golf cart we wanted but quickly pivoted to another. Very good service.

The service was very very good. Picked us up at our hotel as scheduled. Cart was clean and fully charged ready to go. When leaving just dropped it off at their garage and rode us back to the Key West Shuttle. Only suggestion is request a charging cable if you're going for the day or more. Ran about 21 hours and was pretty much drained out when we turned it back in. If your hotel offers a plug to charge highly recommend it. The staff and all those we interacted with were professional in every aspect. read more

Their service was nice and easy. Their golf carts were clean and ran well. We loved riding around the island and made seeing everything we wanted very easy. We came off a cruise so it helped with our limited time to enjoy the island! Would definitely go back. They were a quick walk from the cruise terminal! read more

Easy to deal with and the scooter was a fun way to explore the island. Staff also reversed the upsale two-person scooter the hotel booked for me, saving me some money. read more

Rented a couple of 2 scooters to get around. We have a scooter at home so there wasn't much of a learning curve. We found a free parking lot on fort street and called the free shuttle to pick us up. The rental process was quick and easy. It was so nice to not worry about parking and getting around key west was super easy and scooter friendly. Definitely will rent again when we are back. read more

I've been using hydro for a few years now and have never been anything but greatly satisfied with the staff and rentals!!!

The staff was very friendly and helpful...cart was easy to operate...will definitely use them again!!!

We rented a 4 person LSV ( low speed vehicle) . I had some concern about the huge waivers that they have you sign and before I signed it I checked with my insurance to see if I was covered in a rented golf cart or LSV- I was not. my mother called her insurance company and neither did my mothers insurance cover it. my brother didn't care about the risk and signed the contract. Hydro Thunder does not offer the additional insurance option so beware that if anything happens, the damage will come out of pocket. we ended up having no issues. there was no line when we got there so we didn't have to wait. the vehicle was very clean and in good working order. the people were friendly. They tell you that you have to do all street parking and not park in parking lots- we had no issues finding parking spaces on the street but you will have to pay for them through a credit card and parking app. read more

We paid at the dock without them telling us it was a 15 minute walk to pick up the cart. When we finally got there, we stayed in line for an hour. We only had five hours of the entire day available for the stop on the cruise and we spent an hour and a half trying to get the cart we paid for at the dock. read more

We rented scooters for our final day in Key West. The scooters were great, lots of fun and it was an easy process of renting them. Would definitely rent from HydroThunder again in the future. read more

Awful dealing with this company for a scooter rental. Had ridden scooters in the past through other companies but it had been little while. The man in charge of signing out the scooters was very inpatient and unkind. Did not seem to want to show me or my wife any of the basics behind riding their scooters, so we ended up just going with bicycle rentals for the few hours we were in town. Will never be dealing with this company on return visits again and recommend anyone wanting a smoother experience look elsewhere for scooter/bike rentals. Neither of their locations were convenient for easy rentals for anyone traveling through the cruise ports. Look elsewhere! read more

Highly recommend this company for bike rentals when in Key West! I booked through my hotel and they picked us up to take us to the rental place and offered a ride back to our hotel after we returned the bike. Great service, all staff were very friendly and helpful and the bike rode smoothly and was easy to get around the island. read more

Hydrothunder was excellent! We rented a scooter one day and a golf cart another on our key west trip and the entire process was flawless. All staff was super friendly too. The shuttle picked us up which was amazing. We called with a question/issue and they were incredibly helpful. I would recommend to anyone to use them. Thanks again for a great experience! read more

We had an awesome experience renting scooters from them! They are reasonably priced and their scooters are all new. If you've never ridden a scooter before, they let you test drive it out and help you until you're comfortable which is so great! Manny and Daniel were there to set us up with our scooter, give us directions, and tell us the must-see spots of Key West. A big thanks to them for making our last day in Florida so fun and enjoyable. We will definitely be back! read more

Had a great time on my scooter during my visit. Only complaint is the scooter was extremely difficult to get the kickstand up and down. You practically had to lift it up to get the kickstand in place. read more

Great service, I walked in wanting scooters, and they recommended a cart. The only draw back is parking, but it as easy to park any, I loved it! The only way to get your crew around the Key! Marshal helped me personally when I traded my day cart fit a 24 hr rental! He pointed out some less congested spots! read more

Very disappointed , was recommended by our hotel concierge . We reserved and paid for a 6 seat electric cart as we needed all 6 seats facing forward and did not want the noise and jerkiness of a gas cart. we got an old noisy gas cart where two of us needed to sit in a rear facing, dangerous back seat. We are all over 70 and did not enjoy the vehicle at all. it also had very poor brakes. when we returned it at the end of the day and mentioned the bad brakes the man was extremely rude and dismissive . we would never recommend this company to anyone. We are sure that there are many more places that actually value their customers. GVK read more

They are great especially cade , the others . Answered my questions took great care of us especially Billy . Great for handicap persons .

Had a low tire and returned to office to get replaced but was told to go to their other facility and air it up.

Super easy and friendly! Loved the electric car! They were super fast to get you going and easy drop off. Not too far from the port, just a short walk through the shops on Greene. read more

1 only cause they don't post a zero .....The man in charge behind the counter was very rude. He seemed agitated when my husband was asking him questions. He mumbled out some instructions about the key and something else about his assistant then very UNPROFESSIONALLY threw my husbands driver's license across the counter at him. We are returning with other family members in May will definitely NOT use place. read more

I was coming into Key West on Virgin Voyages. I had an issue that was my fault but also beyond my control. This company was very, very, very professional on how they handled my situation. You can't ask for better service ANYWHERE read more

We made reservations for an electric cart prior to our arrival to Key West via a bus tour from Miami. We arrived about 15 minutes prior to our reservation time. The front desk guy checked us in, and we went out front to get our cart. We got a quick tutorial about how to use it and we were off on our way. The electric cart was very easy to use and park (had to pay for parking everywhere though - but oh well)! We had a rental for about 5 hours of use. We travelled to different areas in Key West and had a great time. We returned our rental at the agreed upon time with no issues. Great time and easy to use electric cart. read more

Highly recommend! We rented an electric cart and it was the best way to see the island. Staff was friendly, check-in was a breeze, cart was clean and easy to use... and QUIET! We passed so many regular golf carts that were so loud, go with an electric cart and tour around! read more

Great customer service and the golf cart was very nice. They even offer a shuttle service at no charge when you turn in.

There was a small scuff on the front when we got the bike, but Lonnie charged us full cost to replace the front piece insisting otherwise. Clearly, they are making money by charging for scuffs that previously there. SCAM! read more

Fantastic service and good multi-day rates. We rented scooters and a golf cart. It's the best and only way around Key West. On the service side, my bike wouldn't start. Called their number thinking I'll be here an hour. In less than 5 minutes they had a replacement bike and we were back on the scooters. I highly recommend Hydro-Thunder. read more

If I could give a zero star review, I would! The good, the golf carts are great! They really are, and compared to other places on the island that we have rented from previously, these are fantastic! Our reservation was from 1 PM until 6 PM for five hours. Our ship was a little bit late coming into dock so we got there at 1:18 PM. The manager inside said he would start our reservation at 2 PM but we could pick it up now. Great, we rented for five hours 2+5 is 7 PM. I told him we would probably be back around 5:30 though because we needed to be back on board our ship by 6:30 because we were leaving Port at 7 PM when we returned the golf cart. Now for the bad: The guy outside who works for HydroThunder gave me an earful for being "late" as I returned the golf cart at 5:34 PM. He said they close at six and that's why he told us when we rented it to have it returned early. No, we didn't rent it from him. we rented it from the manager inside. I told him that our rental was from 2 to 7 and he proceeded to argue with me and tell me my ship had to be out of the port by 6:30 PM. No, I think I know what the captain of the ship said better than he does because I was on it, but he proceeded to argue with me and insult me telling me that he lives on the island and he knows more than I do. Regardless, what happens on the ship is none of his business as the rental from HydroThunder is a contractual matter. My rental contract, says from 2 to 7 PM. Don't yell at your customers and tell them that they are late when they are not. This man proceeded to argue with me to the point where I thought it was going to get physical. I do not recommend this company as when we went inside to complain about the guy outside the manager turned and walked away. The customer service of this company is abhorrent at best. Their product is fantastic, but the staff is terrible! Zero stars caveat emptor! read more

Please don't rent anything from these scumbags... They notoriously rent golf carts to drunk tourist and make them sign their life away to rent the golf cart. Considering that the majority of their income comes from tourist you'd think they would do their best to make sure they provide great service.. well that is not the case with this company. Please note that EVERY golf cart they rent has the same key. This means that anyone can hop in your cart and drive it off (including the employees.) So when they rent the golf carts they try to charge you for the full purchase price of the golf cart once it is inevitably stollen. These guys our notoriously known in key west to be scammers and take advantage of drunk tourist trying to enjoy their time off from the bullshit going on in every day life. As a local please don't let these scammers theirs ruin your vacation. read more
