Blue Sky rental was the place me and my wife went to rent a moped for our honeymoon. We arrived after 5 pm so most spots for rentals were closed, but Blue Sky Rental was not. We gave the place a call and the owner picked up the phone and I asked for the price of the moped was for a week and he knocked off a couple hundred dollars and settled on around 280. We picked it up that night. It was the best experience on the trip and they even filled it up twice for no charge at all. When I'm back down in Key west I'm going back and going to see if the owner would do 250 for a week! Moral of the story always see if prices are negotiable! I had a bad experience renting a motorcycle here because they require a credit card, which we provided, but we didn't know that the person whose credit card was used had to be the one driving. We tried to change it, and the guy started acting shady, lying -- the day before, he didn't have internet, so he couldn't rent to us, and then he accused us of leaving when his service wasn't even working. Be careful with these kinds of rental places; all they want is your money. They're rude, trying to act impressive when they're not. They look unprofessional, the place smells awful, and he has such a huge ego with his motorcycles and golf carts. Total trash. read more

Great way to see the island quick. Fun bikes, easy to get around the traffic and pedestrians, who are everywhere. Scooters are fun and in great shape. Billy hooked us up with some stuff and got us a fast free ride back to the key west express boat. If you check out at noon, you can carry your backpack on the scooter easier or leave your luggage at the shop until you have to leave. **WARNING** They pressured us into getting 2 scooters as we acquired about their process. While we were at the table to pay, my partner and I discussed & agreed that we didn't like their customer service and aggressiveness. So we told them to cancel and they insulted us and also got even more aggressive for "wasting their time" .. we told them that the only reason we're not moving forward with them is because their service was disgusting ESPECIALLY in a Tourist area. They continued to aggress us and mocked that we wouldn't get our refund. So we took pictures and evidence. All in all, their SERVICE was inappropriate, offensive and godawful. Horrible place, will charge more after giving you a price. Don't go here! Gave us pricing for the day we came in $35 / single person bike and said if you want you can keep it longer and will only charge $30 / additional day. It sounded pretty good. We kept them for 2 more days. Scooters - really old, junky. Got us from A to B. But after this experience, I wouldn't recommend them at all. When we came back the third day, he said we needed to pay $40 / single person bike and the owner would fire him if he didn't make us pay that much. When we said again that's not what you told us, he then said the very best he can do is $35. We let them know before we paid that we would write a bad review because they charged us different from what they said they would. He was unconcerned and said, I'll take your card now. We rented 2 scooters and we're told the price would be on thing if we extended the rental... When we returned the scooters they told us the price was completely different. Apparently one of the owners was there and the guy that told us initially said I couldn't have said that price I would get fired. The price was going to be much higher than quoted... We had no choice but to pay the higher amount as they already had our card information. This place is not worth renting from. read more

We met the team at Blue Sky the day before our rental to make sure we understood all of the rules. They were very helpful and advised us on safety in the Key West area and even gave us a list of place that were "must see." Eh. Are you renting the scooter for the customer service or the scooter itself? This is an old school, no frills scooter place (still uses manual credit card process). Was the staff super friendly? No. Get in and get on your way. The scooter was $60 for us to share for the day and we saw it all. Definitely recommend renting one to get around - we saw a ton and free to park pretty much anywhere. read more

If 0 stars was an option..... started off great we wanted a gas golf cart rental for 3 days, however, the days were split so we were talked into an electric golf cart. We were initially told the cart would be returned in an hour so we returned 2 hours later and told they extended use for a day to prior renter, he never bothered to let us know so too late that day for another rental. We decided to head back the next day due to location convenience and once we drove the electric golf cart for the first 2 days and the glove box and trunk didn't lock and the wiper went on when it chose to. For our 3 rd day we requested a gas cart and mentioned the issues we had, which the owner grumbled and agreed to. It wasn't ready so we came back in 15 and of course he had the electric one all ready to go and proceeded to offer us a refund leaving us with only that choice stating he repaired it.... and of course it wasn't but this was after he made a point in front of others to show us there was nothing wrong. Next time I'm in town I'll head to A&M and pay extra for better service as I did for remainder of trip. Skip this rental place.... read more

He even told us because we were so patient and nice with him that we could keep the scooters till 9am but he would only charge us for a day. If there was a topic known as customer service Blue Sky Rentals wouldn't be in the conversation. I live in Key West and enjoy renting an occasional bike/moped. I have tried to rent at this place multiple times because they are close to my home. However, everytime I go there it is like pulling teeth to get a simple rental. It's not that hard to take some personal information down and issue a bicycle. They would rather smoke cigarettes and deter customers then tend to their customers. If it wasn't for their location I am sure they would be closed down by now. Merry Christmas. read more

We were visiting Key West and decided to rent scooters for the day. We stopped in Blue Sky rentals and was basically discouraged to rent their scooters. Our husbands both have ridden motorcycles for many years, but we finally asked if they wanted to rent to us or not. Our mistake was staying and renting the scooters. Later in the day, one of our scooter's throttle wouldn't work properly and eventually had trouble starting the scooter. We had to go get someone to trade out the scooter, and he acted like it was a huge imposition to take care of us. Finally, the light fixture in the back (which was already loose) was broken when we tried to put it on its stand. We told Blue Sky Rental when we returned and rightly paid $25 fee. We were then accused of "kicking" it. All in all, there are many different places to rent, and I would highly recommend going to another place. $90 will get you two hours in one of those four-seater golf carts, which travels no higher than 23 mph. The price was a little high as you could, in theory, rent a car for a lot cheaper and a lot longer. But, it's Key West and you do what you have to do. The lady at the counter was very nice. There is always good customer service in Key West. The four seater enables you to check out places in Key West you normally wouldn't walk to, which is cool. We hit a lot of the back streets, and noticed things we probably wouldn't of if we were simply walking up and down Duval Street. read more

What started off as a great experience, ended really badly. Trey was extremely friendly and kindly explained everything we needed to know. Took our information, cc, ids made the copies and informed us that we would receive or copied cc information back when we returned the golf cart. After a 48 hour rental we returned the cart where we rented it. Unfortunately we were not dealing with Trey anymore, this was "Danno". Danno, not so friendly, told us to return the cart where we rented it from, which is what we thought we were doing, didn't know where the "main place" was. "Well you picked it up there didn't you?" Yes, but wasn't told that we need to pay attention as we would just be taking back to where signed the paperwork and paid for the rental. We ask for the copied cc info, "oh we don't give those back". We tell him what we were told, that it would be given back to us when we returned, well thats not how we do things here and if you want that back you will need to go back to the main office and hand the keys back at me, which i just left there. By no means was he interested in calmly saying any of these things to us, very accosting and hostile demeanor, after we let him know that we were dissatisfied with not receiving our information back and that we would need to leave a review and contact the BBB he threatened me with physical violence if i didn't leave. Just a couple hours later we arrive at the main office, we just happened passed it while walking around. Went in to inform someone in charge of the experience we had that afternoon, we were not met with any better of an attitude. After asking for our information back, we were immediately accosted again by whomever was working there, extremely rude, "we dont do that!" In reference to returning our cc information. Well this is what we were told. Well Treys new here and doesnt know what hes doing, and we keep the information up to a week before destroying it!!" Legitimately shouting at us. Was an easy thing to just inform us calmly that we have a new policy we keep the information now for 7 days Treys new here, sorry for the mistake and mix up. Not difficult, but instead to shout, and threaten physical violence against a customer who has just dropped several hundred on a golf cart rental. As i attempted to tell how i was treated he told me he hadn't asked about it and then proceeded to give me the copied cc info back with no apology or appreciation. read more

DO NOT rent bikes from this company. The bikes are old and the locks do not work. We had to return the bikes twice to exchange locks as the keys did not open the old cheap padlocks. Finally they sent an employee to our hotel with a bolt cutter to remove the locks. An employee said that the owner is too cheap to invest in new locks. The manager on duty argued with us about a refund. He gave us only a partial refund. They were very rude. Terrible business practices. Choose another bike company in Key West. We got great new bikes and locks from A &M rentals at 523 Truman Ave. a few blocks away. read more

We did not like the bikes we rented from Blue Sky Rentals in Key West, Fl so we returned them after a few minutes of testing them out. The employee named Billy just pointed at a sign that said no refunds. After he argued with us and used every bad word in the book, finally agreed to do the refund but then said since the credit card machine was already batched he would have someone do the refund tomorrow. Billy's wife had even a worse attitude and mouth about the situation (daughter of the owner). This place is very sketchy. Also, while returning the bikes their dog scratched and bit me but they said it was my fault because I stepped on its toe while it was following me around.
