We like yo go off the beaten path and renting a jeep for the day was the perfect way to do it. This company understands that most people don't have a vehicle and will go out of their way to pick you up and bring you to the store and drive you back to your hotel after, making it very convenient. The process of renting was quick and easy. There are rules as to how far you can go (key largo if I remember correctly) and they will give you a quick tutorial and once over of the car. They have a map of hot spots and things to do on each key. It was very easy to follow. The ONLY sad thing is that they are all automatics. I get it, but think of us manual lovers lol. We had so much fun but learned one very valuable lesson. Your sunscreen means nothing here. No matter how often you apply it. I ended up stopping to get a long sleeved shirt to cover my crispy skin. We started out like responsible adults early morning, clear heads, solid plan: cruise around for a couple hours, take in the island, maybe stop here and there. Somewhere around late morning, though, that plan quietly slipped overboard. Next thing you know, we've got a small fleet scooters buzzing, two carts rolling, music blasting off a Bose speaker, cooler packed like we were prepping for an expedition. We weren't just sightseeing we were inhabiting the island. Drifting through traffic at that slow, salty Key West pace, catching the breeze, waving at strangers, stopping at random corners, parks, and stretches of shade like a bunch of grown men pretending we didn't have responsibilities waiting back home. And then... the nonsense. I didn't know scooters could do wheelies turns out they can. Didn't know golf carts could drift turns out they absolutely will if you find even a whisper of wet pavement (and somehow, we always did). We probably broke every unwritten rule: music too loud, turns too wide, laughter echoing down streets like we owned the place. It wasn't fast, it wasn't reckless in the "life flashing before your eyes" kind of way it was that slow, careless, teenage kind of fun where the world just feels wide open. We rented a 6-person golf cart for 3 days and also opted for the backpack cooler (that came with a lock so no one could steal it while leaving it on the cart). They delivered the golf cart to our condo and walked us through the rules, laws, and tips for parking. We had a blast driving around the island and the golf cart was in great condition. The only thing I wish they offered with the rental is a golf cart phone holder. Would have been nice to be able to have my phone up higher while looking at Waze for directions to places. You can buy a magnetic one on Amazon for $17 and I HIGHLY recommend doing that. The cart came with a killer sound system that you can connect to via Bluetooth on your phone. Also had fun color changing lights underneath for night driving. We ended up changing our pick up location for the cart on our last day and they had no issue with us changing that. Blue Sky rental was the place me and my wife went to rent a moped for our honeymoon. We arrived…read moreafter 5 pm so most spots for rentals were closed, but Blue Sky Rental was not. We gave the place a call and the owner picked up the phone and I asked for the price of the moped was for a week and he knocked off a couple hundred dollars and settled on around 280. We picked it up that night. It was the best experience on the trip and they even filled it up twice for no charge at all. When I'm back down in Key west I'm going back and going to see if the owner would do 250 for a week! Moral of the story always see if prices are negotiable! Was a great experience no hassle at all!
