Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Unfortunately, nearly every aspect of the experience fell far below even basic expectations. To begin with, none of the elevators were working, which meant constantly walking up and down three flights of stairs, even having to carry our 50 lb luggage up three flights of steps. This was especially frustrating given that there were no phones in the room to contact the front desk, so every question or request required a physically exhausting trip. Upon check-in, we were assigned a room that was already occupied, which was both uncomfortable and concerning. Once we were finally placed in the correct room, things didn't improve. Our room was never cleaned during our stay, and the bathtub was clogged, making it difficult to use. We had to keep going to the front desk for more towels, coffee, cups, etc. Basic amenities were also lacking. There were no ice machines or ice buckets available, and we had to go all the way to the front desk just to get pool towels and ice. By the time we got back to our room, the ice was half melted. The pool area itself was poorly maintained, fruit from nearby trees was scattered across the concrete, creating a slippery hazard that caused one guest to fall. The chairs, tables, and cabanas were filthy. The hot tub was also broken, which was one of the many reasons for choosing this place. To make matters worse, maintenance crews were leaf blowing and weed whacking around the pool for over an hour, completely disrupting what should have been a relaxing environment. The pool bartender was also unpleasant and unwelcoming, which only added to the overall negative experience. The servers were awesome and were always asking if we needed anything. Between the lack of functioning elevators, cleanliness issues, safety concerns, and poor service, this stay was incredibly frustrating and not at all what we expected. We even have a picture of a security guard sleeping on the sofa in the lobby area, one night we came home. He didn't even wake up when we went inside and were talking. I would not recommend this hotel and hope management takes these issues seriously, as significant improvements are clearly needed. The front desk workers were the only pleasant and helpful employees. The amenities this hotel claims it has, is far off from the truth. read more

Don't let the off-site phone staff turn you away...the staff at the resort itself were amazing. Very responsive, great recommendations and kind. Anything we asked for they got for us or did for us. Management would be proud of their representation of the resort. The grounds are nice and well kept. Pool and bar staff were kind, knowledgable and professional. We got the 1 bedroom suite with the direct access to the pool. The size of the room is amazing! That made such a big difference to be able to stretch out. While this is not a new resort, there are some areas that could use some love. The couch is rather worn out, half the dressers were not usable as the handles fell off, the jet tub in the room was hardly working but they did come and fix it, the elevator near our room was out of service so we had to go the long way to get there, the spiral staircase is not safe, and then there's a hill to deal with before getting to the pool, the bar restaurant has early hours, only one speaker works at the pool, had to request towels constantly. Location was great and there is a shuttle to take you Downtown so getting a rental is not really necessary. I would stay here again but hope they spend time on some of the areas that need some attention. read more

Beautiful spot away from the busier areas of Key West. Conveniently located off Route 1, easy to get in and out. Gorgeous pool area with plenty of seating. Chicken Walk bar & bites available 11:30-7:00 with great options. Room was clean, not too outdated. Bed was comfortable, nice smart TV. Hotel claims beach access but is a bit misleading as there is a tiny sanded area with a few chairs right up against the hotel, sun blocks it for half the day. We still had to drive to the larger beach. Parking under all buildings, $25/night. Overall, great value for the price and conveniently located, just a few minute drive to anywhere. There is also a bike/scooter/golfcart rental within walking distance from the hotel if you need to ditch the car. read more

The Marriott Beachside Resort Key West is an exceptional property. I have no reservation in my 5 star designation. I was surprised at the lower stars. This is why: 1. The staff is exceptional helpful, patient, informative and happy. Most genuinely seem to love their jobs. This is especially true of each shuttle driver, and each gave a narrated tour on the ride to and from the hotel that included helpful tidbits of information, such as where to order groceries, beer, wine or liquor by delivery service and local points of interest and their favorite restaurants, bars and activities. 2. The three bedroom suite that we rented was tastefully appointed, spotless, spacious, comfortable, and otherwise impeccably laid out. The bedrooms were huge, had large walk in closets, and each was equipped with its own private bathroom. The kitchen was open concept with lots of counter space and high end appliances. 3. The property itself was tasteful and best of all - ocean front with a pool. 4. Shopping was nearby and the hotel bars and restaurants seemed very nice. As an aside I would move in as is. read more

Booked our room through air bnb. They use deceptive language such as "apartment" and "home" in the listing when in reality their "signature" room is tiny, and the window opens to a concrete wall/hallway. Elevators were out of service but they did not warn us prior to arrival. They refused to move us to a better room despite having availability. Thankfully we were refunded through air bnb and stayed somewhere else the rest of our trip. The room was clean and comfy and the shuttle to town is convenient. But due to what you get for the price in terms of room style, I would not stay here again. read more

The room had mostly everything we needed: A safe, huge fridge, washer and dryer, TWO bathrooms, two TVs, balcony with comfy chairs, USB ports next to bedside, nice shower with big bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. 4. Toilet and shower in master had a door separating it from sinks. While one did their business, the other could get ready in front of the mirrors. 4. Nice pool. Shout out to Steve - activities coordinator. He was such a nice guy. Gave us fresh towels without us having to ask. 5. Drinks/food poolside. 6. Great location. Close to airport. Away from the craziness of Downtown but still near enough to get to quickly. 7. Always found parking in the covered garage (kept the car cool). 8. Shuttle passes to downtown area. 9. 1 free drink pass. Cons: 1. No paper towel in the room, not even one roll. 2. Room service was lacking. Asked for bottled water and towels one morning and they never came. Asked again that same afternoon. Waited for around and hour... Nothing. Called a third time, and practically begged... Finally came. 3. The beach looked gross. Water had a brown hue probably due to the algae. 4. Couch had stains. 5. Main restaurant was not in service while we were there. 6. Daily parking fee. 7. Wow! Recieved an upgraded room to an "A" suite from a "B" basic king room. a is for awesome. Full kitchen, 2 baths, seating area and a full balcony with a resort view. I paid for the room to I luxe the breakfast buffet (notmally$33) and well worth it. The buffet is a full buffet with bread, fruit and egg stations as well as a waffle area. Breakfast is in the hotel restaurant, which is also excellent. Town and Tavern has 2-4-1 drinks every night (but holidays) from 5-7 and then again from 9 until close. Drink prices and food prices are normal for a higher end restaurant in the keys. The view from the beach very nice looking out at passing boats and several Mangroves. Although it says it is, I don't believe the pool is heated. The 2nd restaurant is a casual drink and lite food place located just outside the pool area. They also have lots of live music at the pool and inside for dinner. The shuttle will pick you up or drop off at airport. It also drops/picks up from two spots in the busy tourist section of the KW. The free shuttle runs at the top of each hour. Would highly recommend and we will be back. read more

They don't clean the rooms without a fee They lie and say manager sitting there texting me wasn't there when literally she was After telling us we had to checkout by 10am even after we had emailed about flight issues etc they then didn't of course respond back but then they deactivated our room key where our stuff still was and of course notified us by text. We were sitting finishing lunch at bar by pool the entire time. Then housekeeping staff showed up, eye rolls and all and stood in door until we left the room like we needed escorts. Beautiful Marriott property directly on the water in Key West. Very clean and well appointed suites with full kitchen. We had a three bedroom suite that had a nice balcony and living room as well as three full bathrooms. It was very nice. Parking is on site and on the first floor under the building. I would strongly urge you NOT to book at beachside resort . It seems they used to be Marriott according to reviews . This is a new owner and Airbnb dominant . I work in property management and this is the utmost horrible experience. We booked weeks before our spring break trip to key west , only to have the reservation cancelled 1 hour before arrival . I have in writing that the condo was 3rd floor ocean view . When questioned as to why my itinerary says 1st floor, beachside was full denial saying they don't have a 3rd floor and that even if they told me it was the 3rd floor ocean view (and sent me a link which I clicked on and booked ) - it doesn't mean I would get that condo . Long story short ...they misrepresented and falsely advertised their units and when questioned decided to argue and cancel . If you want to ensure a pleasant and confirmed stay for your family , you will not find it at beachside . I had apprehensions with them being so new and zero reviews . With so many other options, don't waste your time. I've had status with Marriott for 15 years. Never in over 967 nights have I been so completely disregarded as a guest. First, I checked in 2 days prior with my arrival time. Next, arrive and room not ready. The guy checking me in did not acknowledge my status, nor ask if I wanted points or breakfast. I watched everyone else in my party get an upgraded room, some to a 3 bedroom suite, and get offered champagne! (This is important because the manager tried to tell me that I got this room because that is what my company had booked for me. How does that work? (Insert sarcasm)). I had to sit around for hours before getting into the room. I asked for a mobile key, nope we don't do that here. When I got there? My room is facing the road and I can hear the traffic from the main road, the room next to me and the service drive. I know, third world problems right? To top it off, after I get to my room they send someone else in to check into my room! They gave my room to Someone else too! Of course I had to go stand in line to see what they could do, and you guessed it! NOTHING! If I could find another room in this proximity I would be out of here. Plenty of other hotel chains that value guests. Other than that.... Pool is nice, there is no beach, and the drive to duval is not close. The gym is tiny too. Meeting rooms are humid and smell. If the person in charge decided to show up, there were high-priced baked goods, warmed-up quiche, and Starbucks coffee set up for you to get yourself. * There was good poolside entertainment and restaurant entertainment. * Brightwild Adventures Adult Sandbar Escape boat ride. This was an excellent way to enjoy Key West! A must-do! Cons: I imagine if you were in one of the large apartments or rooms, things may have been different. * There seemed to have been transient people resting in the lobby. No lock on the pool gates. * The pool was full of people who were not staying at the place. There were insufficient chairs for paying guests. The "beach" is not a typical Florida beach. The only thing it was good for was taking pictures of the sunset. * No telephone in the room to call the front desk. * The room with two queen-sized beds was tiny. Barely enough room to walk between the bed and the desk. No room to put up the luggage rack. It had a tiny refrigerator and no microwave. The TV screen was on a wall, not facing the beds. * If we wanted housekeeping, there would be an extra charge, but the trash cans and towels would be changed. We had to go to the desk to ask about the trash pick-up. They said to put it outside the room. * To get ice, we needed to go outside our building to the front desk and have the staff retrieve ice from a different room for us. There was no Ice container to hold the ice in the room. * The floors were dirty! * There were no tissues in the room. We had to go to the front desk to ask! * The drain in the tub was not working. * There were two elevators in our building. One was out of service, and the other sounded like it would stop working at any moment. * The pillows were so thin, we had to go to the desk and ask for more pillows. * We know this is the age of cell phones, but there should have been a card with quick look-up info, including the front desk. read more

While floating in the pool a large rat was eating off a persons plate that was under a chair. They may need to call pest control. I spoke to the woman at the front desk that was a manager and she laughed and said this happens all the time and that we're an island and they have to live somewhere too. Wow!! Beach Goers BEWARE ...My husband and I just checked out of the Marriott Beachside Resort in Key West, Florida and we were definitely less than pleased. My husband is a Titanium member with the Marriott and this has been his worst Marriott stay thus far. Upon our arrival we learned that the hotel wasn't actually "beachside". It's actually Marinaside. We booked the trip to have a quick beach getaway. We had to take a 45 minute Uber ride to access an acceptable beach. We also learned that Beachside is no longer a Marriott property even though the Marriott signage is visible throughout the property (floor mats, pamphlets and signs). They told us that this property is pretty much run like an air BNB with different owners. Once accessing our presidential suite we found that the rooms were much more dated than properties that we usually book. It seemed as though we were staying in someone's elderly grandparents' condo. To put the icing on the CAKE, Patrick- the front desk worker was less than pleasant. My husband requested a late check out to accommodate our flight out. He told Patrick that he was a Titanium member and Patrick told him "well we're NOT a Marriott property". He told him that he wouldn't even do this for a Ambassador member. The hotel was not busy and relatively empty but he remained cold and refused to assist. We paid for the buffet for each day and the food was on point. The service yesterday was splendid but today one of the cook's was argumentative with my husband. My husband's request was to have his eggs scrambled and the cook told him that scrambled was no different than an Omlette! Beach goers and Marriott members please steer CLEAR of this PSEUDO MARRIOTT PROPERTY!! Don't use the name if you're not going to LIVE up to the MARRIOTT BRAND! read more

Stayed here for one night while here for a weekend getaway during Fantasy Fest. Stayed in a king suite, which would be absolutely perfect for a weeklong stay. Full kitchen, washer/dryer, 2 bathrooms, pull out couch, full balcony. Gorgeous room, would definitely recommend staying here. When you check in, they give you tons of details of amenities the resort gives you, including a free drink at the pool side bar! There's also a free shuttle downtown that makes multiple stops. We had lunch at the poolside bar, had the flatbread and the fish sandwich and they were both incredible!! Drinks were good too, and they have people walking around the pool taking drink orders. Short stay here, but would definitely stay here again! There also were mostly adults at this resort (probably because it was fantasy fest), which was nice. read more

They upgraded me once again. Gotta love this place. They make you feel so relaxed and at home. The customer service is spectacular - always genuinely friendly and willing to assist. They told me that I had been upgraded prior to my arrival. Came straightaway after a Bahama cruise. My suite was exquisite-once again. It was very hard to leave my home away from home each day; the oversized balcony with comfy chairs and ottomans to kick up your feet, outdoor ceiling fans, comfortable sectional couch, and jetted tub (just to name a few awesome amenities) made me feel like I'm in Paradise. The complimentary shuttle was convenient, no need to use our rental car. They make two stops: Duval St (at Butterfly Conservatory/Southernmost Resort) and A&B Lobster House (get off here for tons of great restaurant options: A&B Lobster House, Conch Republic, Waterfront Brewery, etc). Locals also recommended Moe's for Haitian Food and El Siboney (?) for Cuban Food. This place is absolutely wonderful. Come to Key West...stay at Marriott Key West...it's absolute paradise. After A LOT of researching and comparing prices decided on this place based mainly on some of the good Yelp reviews. We were originally looking to stay down closer to Old Town, but I ended up happier that we stayed away from all the craziness down there as it wasn't a very far trek down anyway. They have a provided shuttle, and with the Duval loop bus, you could shuttle down and get around on the loop all day without needing a car if you so choose. The room was a little on the small side, but very nice. Bed was quite comfortable, the bathroom was nice. It's located right at the entrance to Key West but again the island itself isn't very big so you aren't too far from the action. We really liked that it was right on the water and had a nice little "beach" area to sit out by. We didn't take advantage of the pool or jacuzzi as we had limited time and a packed schedule, but it seemed like a nice area. The one (small) disappointment was that one of the first things I liked about this place was the inclusion of the free chocolates, but we didn't get any in our room. Again, that's a super small detail but I was hoping to surprise my girlfriend with it. Definitely would stay here again in the future. read more

We stayed here a few years back for Memorial Day weekend. Normally, we would prefer to be close to Duval Street but we're Marriott members and a friend recommended it. We did realize that it was pretty far away from the "real" deal Key West. You had to take your car everywhere but they do offer a shuttle service. However, this didn't quite give me the island vibe so we rented a scooter to get around. Honestly, the hotel itself was pretty uneventful. The room had no view at all, we looked at a staircase. Calling it "beachside" is a bit of a stretch as all they have is some artificially created tiny area of sand by the water. The lobby looked nice and they do seem to have a decent restaurant which we didn't get to try. I feel like this hotel only makes sense of you are a Marriott member and do not want to pay the insane prices of the Downtown Key West hotels. read more

A wonderful experience and one of the better choices in Key West. Thanks to Arielle for checking us in with ease after a fiasco at another hotel. Our room was very large and clean. We had the luxury of overlooking the pool surrounded by palm trees and the "beach" waterside. The biggest bonus to our vacation was Bruce, the concierge. He could not have made our stay more remarkable. He was right on the money when suggesting activities and took the time to talk us through what would be required for each one. Do yourself a favor and rent a Moke! So much fun! Thanks to everyone who made our stay memorable. When we return we do hope Bruce will have more recommendations for us! read more

We had a girls' vacation August 20-25. We got the two bedroom suite. The size of the room was great, however the second bedroom was a bit odd. The outside door enters into a little alcove and the second bedroom is like a separate regular hotel room with its own entrance. The rest of the suite had its own separate entrance. There were separate keys for the suite and second bedroom as well. We left the door to the larger part of the suite open during waking hours. The layout of the buildings is a little confusing. The furniture was of higher quality than most resorts and hotels. The sofa was showing its age though. The elevators sometimes did not work. The locations of elevators are not adequately visible nor clearly labeled. Unfortunately, we had little opportunity to enjoy the restaurant. It closed for cleaning and other work the morning after we arrived. There was no notification as to the closure on their website nor was it told to us when we called to confirm the reservation. We were told only upon check in. The pool bar served food but didn't open until 11:00 am. There were no alternatives like morning coffee and bagels or pastries offered in the lobby. We needed to order our breakfasts to be delivered to the resort. The floor of the suite was a little gritty when we checked in and got worse after going out to the beach area and around town. Our trash quickly piled up with to go containers. When we asked for house keeping, we were told it would be an additional charge. The person at the front desk told us that house keeping was in essence like we would get in a VRBO. If they are going to treat this like a VRBO, they should provide a few cleaning supplies and inform us of a place where we may empty our trash. There was very little water pressure in the kitchen sink faucet. There was no facial tissue provided. Our sliding glass door to the balcony didn't lock properly. An advisory should be verbally given and/or posted regarding remaining in the pool when thunder and lightning are occurring. Any future stays in Key West will be at another resort. read more

The word for this resort is MISREPRESENTATION. They tell you if you want cleaning you must pay extra but they leave you NO items to clean with yourself. The kitchen is listed as STOCKED. THERE IS NOTHING IN THE KITCHEN BUT SOME DISHES AND GLASSES. We had ONE pot to cook with. You have to beg for dishwashing liquid. The dishwasher takes 3 hours to run - the laundry unit takes 4 hours and the clothes never dry. At $400 per night there should not be loose floor tiles everywhere. The cleaning staff when asking for things pretend they do not speak english and ignore you. The "balcony" with a view was a view of a WALL! There was NO View! The restaurant had HORRIBLE service by a waitress with an attitude. Bottom line - TOTALLY OVERPRICED AND MISREPRESENTED. First of all, it's no longer owned by Marriott. They are trying to turn this into some AirBNB. The service is SO bad; this is the first time I've experienced something like it. I'm spending $400/ night, and they will only clean my room if I pay an extra $85/night cleaning fee. No one has removed the trash, replaced towels, or replenished the coffee. I couldn't even get a wake-up call. They have disconnected all of their phones. There is no business center or printer to use. My room key was wrapped in a post-it note with my room number on it. Supposedly a high end one bedroom balcony ocean view with private beach access via balcony staircase. The first thing I noticed was an electrical outlet over the counter completely detached from the wall ! Literally hanging out of the wall by its connecting live wires ! When I booked this hotel a few months ago it was a Marriott and we are Bonvoy members. I received an email 2 weeks before our arrival that it was no longer a Marriott. I can go on and on about numerous things that went wrong and how the property is in desperate need of renovation but I will just say it was not a good experience. It was pricey for what we got. We were there 2 nights, this past Friday and Saturday. Upon checking in i was looking on line for another hotel but Key West was booked for weekend. When I checked in I specifically asked Emmy the front desk clerk if the $45 resort fee included parking. She said yes and went on to tell me about the great shuttle service and water taxi etc... At check out there was an additional $25 parking fee added. I'm not saying they shouldn't charge for parking, just be honest up front about it. The surprise left a really bad taste thus spoiling an otherwise fabulous Marriott vacation. read more

We stayed 6 nights. The first room we had was located in building 1 that abuts Key West busiest highway. The trucks & motorcycles rattle the windows & are noisy. Second room was building 4 & all was good. The kitchen suites are not well equipped. Good for making breakfast and sandwiches only. The beds were ok. Some were good, others were clearly older and "saggy" the pullout beds were uncomfortable bit good enough for kids.The shuttle to Duval steeet ran on time every hour & provides easy transport to the heart of town. Tavern Tower restairant is ok. Nothing special but acceptable. Limited food options at the pool. Some days the salt pool water was cold other days heated! Overall an ok experience. Would love to see more consistency. read more

Expensive obviously not one of the true Marriott properties. Overpriced, staffed by internationals who don't understand English. Yes, there's a shuttle. I should say shittle. Most drivers except Ivin the driver don't offer to help, or turn on AC. Kudos to Ivin for bringing the step stool which is needed when exiting the shuttle. Rooms and building very antiquated and over due for remodel, even lack simple repairs that the owner has not done. Really the property is just dirty in general. This is what we usually refer to as a motel. Yah the pool is impressive but that's it. Stayed here two days! Agh only, only since free but we had to pay a resort fee. Skip this joint. Front desk never acknowledged our Titanium membership. We are done with Marriott, will be looking for a new hotel and credit card. read more
