I'm incredibly overdue on this review. We stayed here in February for a few nights and honestly, the villa was probably our favorite part about Key West. Heather and Kevin could not have been nicer or more hospitable. They truly make every guest feel like family. The villas are in the perfect location- right in the heart of town, a few steps away from Duval St, walkable to absolutely everything, and had parking (a novelty). We pretty much stayed parked and walked everywhere during our trip. They also have bikes onsite. A continental-esque breakfast is included and every morning you're greeted with a selection of bagels, cereal, fruit, pastries, coffee, and even mimosas. Each night there's a happy hour in the office from 5 pm - 6 pm with a free open bar. Kevin not only whips up the best drinks, but has a "shot of the day" each night which was delicious every time. They also have a texting feature that makes it easy to keep in touch, and sends you reminders about happy hour / letting you know what the shot of the day is, etc. The villas are super spacious and it was so nice having a little kitchen so that we could pick up food or fresh crab claws, and eat in without having to spend $ at a restaurant every day. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, there was cable TV so we were able to watch the superbowl, and there's even a small pool / hot tub outside. I typically go to Florida to see family in Sanibel / Captiva, so this was my first time in the Keys. Kevin + Heather and their villa really are what made the trip special. These villas go fast, so if you see availability, don't hesitate to book it! You won't regret it. read more

Great place to stay when visiting Key West! It is located just off Duval, on Angela Street. I feel it was a great location to walk just about anywhere on the island. The owner Kevin, and staff are excellent and make you feel right at home. The villas are spacious and they have units that can certainly house larger groups. The pool area is nice, and it is heated, which is awesome in cooler months. The hot tub is also a nice touch. We enjoyed the nightly happy hour! Trust me, we enjoyed it. The morning breakfast snacks, muffins, and bagels were also a welcome treat. Everyone of our group who stayed, about 11 in all, enjoyed our stay. Those at other hotels, wish they had stayed there also! I can't believe I forgot to post this review, and now I miss them even more! We are definitely planning another trip! read more

There are not enough good things I can say about this place. The new owners have done a wonderful job with the place and we're the best when it comes to hospitality also. We only stayed three days and wished we would have stayed our entire vacation here because it was that great. From the clean, cute rooms to the daily happy hour and location, you really can't beat this facility. I have already told anyone coming to Key West to certainly stay here. We have been coming to the Villa's for years!! But this was my first time with the new owners, Kevin & Heather. And can I just say- WOW! We loved everything about this place but now we love it even more with all the new upgrades. Everything has been cleaned up and repaired (I'm assuming that's not easy to stay on top of in KW!) A continental type breakfast is served daily, there are always snacks and cold water available AND a free open bar for Happy Hour from 5:00-6:00 daily. Kevin even makes a "shot of the day." There is nothing fancy about this little place but to me, it's the best place you can stay!! read more

This place is amazing. Stayed in a 2 bedroom unit. It was spacious and homey with a great remodel, keeping a lot of vintage charm. The owners thought of everything and were attentive to their guests. They welcomed us by showing the unit personally and gave us a free bottle of wine after checking in. Their lobby was so cute and provided a free continental breakfast complete with mimosas. Snacks are also provided from 11 to 5 daily, This includes a wide variety of great snacks and refrigerated beverages. From 4-5 pm they offer "happy hour" with the owners creating a specialty shot. Wow! Delicious! Additionally they offer a selection of cocktails for free. We enjoyed our drinks on the quaint front porch. The location was perfect, a block from Duvall Street making it perfect for walkability. The Villas also provides off road parking for a small fee of $15 a night. If I am fortunate to make it to Key West again this will be my place to stay. read more

We vacationed in Key West and decided on this place.To start off staying in Key West is expensive.I feel like there is no way around it.This accommodation had a few different options to choose from.I though it would be cool to have our own small cottage. I made sure I read thought the process for check in.You must to to a main office hub to get the keys for you rental which is several blocks from the cottages. The owner of the cottages (Jim) was super nice and explained everything. All in all a nice cottage (not the Hilton) but filled our needs very well. Thank you for a nice place to stay read more

We booked this place on a whim and Kevin was absolutely the besssstttttt host! I wish I could give him 5-stars alone. This place has all the amenities and service of a luxury five-star hotel with a small hometown feel. Everything was perfect...the room was so neat and clean, morning breakfast options, evening happy hours...we enjoyed our stay so much we spent the entire last day of our stay just hanging out at the pool and visiting with other guests. The location is second to none just a block off Duvall in the middle of of the strip and there's a little alley bar right next door that has the best service and Poke bowls around. Everything is in walking distance and I would not even consider staying anywhere else now. read more

We came down to the Keys for a quick 4 day vacation and stayed here. It was a great spot in awesome location, you re a block off of Duval and smack dab in the middle of the strip. We stayed in room 5 and it was all we needed, a full size bed and bathroom...and a short 5 steps from the front door to the pool. The room has a small TV and refrigerator, not that we spent a lot of time in the room. The owner and housekeeping were all very friendly and accessible. I will stay here again. read more

This was an awesome place about a 1 minute walk to Duval st which is the main strip in Key west. The owners are amazing people and so much hospitality. They have a free snack bar with all types snacks and drinks and free happy hour from 5-6. Highly recommended this place. They have continental breakfast but perfect to grab and go. We stayed in Villa one with our 4 year old and even had a upstair bed. Totally worth it. It has a small pool but perfect for the stay, washer and dryer that already has soap to wash your cloth and anything you can think of the owners already did. read more

We've stayed here at this property at this location on Angela twice and stayed once at their cottages a few blocks away near Catherine and Margaret streets. Both are wonderful, but the Angela location is just a stones throw from Duvall St (at about the half way point from either end of Duvall). So it's a great location. It's been a couple years since we visited as they book up fast and we were unable to secure a room on our most recent trip. The rooms are comfy and clean and there is a pool at both properties to enjoy and cool off in. The folks that run it were friendly and hospitable. There are bikes on property to rent which I promise you will want to use. Everyone bikes around key west. read more

This was our second time staying here, and it was once again, AMAZING!! Heather and Kevin understand what hospitality is all about! From the very beginning after booking to the end, everything was perfect!! Check in was quick and easy, and they also offer onsite parking for a modest fee per night (which is hard to come by on the island.) They offer a free happy hour from 5-6pm daily, with a "shot of the day". The check in area offers complimentary snacks and non alcoholic beverages, and a continental breakfast every morning. Small, quaint, bungalow style property with a pool. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! 1/2 a block off Duval St, so very accessible to restaurants, bars, shops, and local attractions! I could go on and on, but there is definitely a reason this place is ALWAYS booked...it's a rare find, so if you see it available, SNAG IT!! Just finished a great weekend in key west and our stay at The Villas was fantastic. Heather and Kevin are great hosts and looked after all our needs. The Key West Villas are awesome. We had a 1 bedroom and a 2 bedroom for a couple of nights. What a great location with just minutes to Duval Street and Schooner's Wharf and all of the other local attractions. No need for a vehicle at all. They do have Uber if you partake too much in the local establishments. You can just park your car and walk. Did I say park your car? There is parking at the The Villas so just let Kevin know you need a spot and he'll reserve one for you. I can't say enough about the amenities. Daily complimentary breakfast, all day snacks and a delicious complimentary happy hour. Kevin makes a great "Villa Sunset". Kitchens are well stocked if you choose to do your own cooking. The beds and pillows were first class and so comfortable. Kevin has taken a great deal of time and attention to make sure The Villas feel as comfy as home. I've never had better service than he and his staff provided while we were there. The pool and hot tub area was a great place to relax at the end of a great evening. Plenty of beautiful outdoor furniture and umbrellas. The villas are secure and safe and really in a nice location. I can't think of a better place to stay and we will be going back. Our group of 10 chose the Villas b/c we could get multiple rooms in one location and so we would be close to Duval. I'm not sure you can get any closer to Duval. We were in town for a wedding and the couple reserved us all rooms at a hotel where their venue would be held (which was Smathers Beach...about 10 minutes from Duval). After calculating the room discount, resort fee, parking fee and breakfast fee our daily cost at that hotel would be over $400/night. By staying at Villas Key West we ended up paying less than $215/night per couple (and that included breakfast and parking). Plus we got the best location in town in my opinion being smack dab in the middle of it all. The only time we had to get in our car and drive was on the wedding day. Everyone who ended up staying at the hotel paid over $40 per cab ride each way (b/c of the number of people) every time they wanted to go out. So we saved even more money by staying here. Now that we've established this is a great location I'll get into the details. Check in and Check out were both so easy they have the perfect system and it just works. Most of us arrived after the office closed but they let one couple in our group get keys for all of our villas and those that hadn't pre-paid for their room just took care of it the next morning. Parking is $15/spot per day and there are 6 or 7 spots available (so its smart to pre-pay and reserve parking if you need it). We reserved the following villas: #3 Villa: 2 bedroom with a balcony (great option for 2 couples and maybe kids or a single on the sleeper sofas): Pros: Great kitchen, plenty of room in the main living and dining area, one room with a true door but everyone pretty much used this bathroom when visiting, huge room upstairs but no door so they heard everything in early morning or late at night, awesome deck up top that was larger than the pictures make it seem. Cons: Beds were not very comfortable (need new mattresses)...trying to think of another con but I just can't this was a great room!! #2 Villa: 1 bedroom with a deck (actually a really cute porch and very very private). 1 didn't stay in this room but it was exactly like the pictures, bathroom was the best of all of the villas we stayed in and we all loved the privacy this one had even though the couple that stayed here felt they were away from all the action with the other group members (I would have loved that at times though). #4 Villa: Pool side studio villa: This was perfect for one couple and right next door to the #3 villa both sat on the pool area so we almost felt like we were all staying together. There are laundry facilities on site and an ice maker in the laundry room that we appreciated. There is a bar right in the parking lot...seriously right there walking distance so perfect. The bartenders here were the nicest we met during our entire trip and it was where we started our nights off every day...it closes earlier than the main Aqua bar and other bars in the area but a great place to start. Breakfast was simple and good. Continental with nice options for bagels and pastries every day. Good coffee options (kuerig) and a small fridge filled with juice and water (thank goodness) every morning 8-10:30 a.m. We all felt very safe here too due to the gates that led to most of the villas. There is a nice pool and whirlpool...it was cold when we got there but we asked and they turned the heat on in the whirlpool (which flows into the pool) and by that night both were warm enough to enjoy. Housekeeping came daily to refresh towels and take out trash which we didn't expect but greatly appreciated. They do blow off the pool deck and surrounding areas first thing (and I mean first thing 8am) every morning so if you are staying in any of the villas around the pool be prepared for this. I honestly wouldn't stay anywhere else when traveling to Key West. This was the perfect location (we walked absolutely everywhere we wanted to go) and it felt like our home. The rest of the couples who chose to stay elsewhere ended up hanging out at our place 90% of the time and regretted not booking at the Villas. It was perfect!! read more

Staying at Very charming cottage at Margaret st. The neighborhood is not the prettiest one in Key West ( we got the middle finger painted with the lipstick on our car rentals, parked in the front and that felt unwelcoming at lest) but that had nothing to do with the actual accommodation. That being said , if staying on Margaret St. I would recommend the third (and the biggest cottage) that is inside the garden -yard ( not directly on the St) The furniture and the entire vibe were cosy. There was a fancy washer and dryer on site- and plenty of towels and beach towels included. The hosts , that we never met, left us a nice list of the recommended restaurants, grocery shops, sightseeing information.... Each cottage had wi-fi, cable and outdoor seating area (table and chairs) alongside the shared pool. We didn't mind that the outdoor area wasn't super cleaned, we cleaned it ourselves. At least there were plenty cleaning supplies on site and the owner cut us the slack with the price too. This location is super close to Southernmost point. read more

First timers to Key West, group of 6. Great location - we parked on arrival and walked everywhere. Pretty central, close to Duval so you can walk to meals, sunset, water activities, etc. The apartment was comfortable, spacious and clean. Pretty mellow environment, would work for groups, families and/or couples. Nice pool, good breakfast. Jimbo and Tammy were great hosts! My husband and I just got back from a stay at the Royal Poinciana cottage. It's a wonderful little love nest with a lovely pool and patio area. So tranquil and tropical. My favorite part of the trip was napping on a float in the gorgeous pool. The cottage is clean, private, and has everything that you need including a full kitchen. Walking distance to everything that key west has to offer. Make sure that you get your Cuban fix at el Siboney across the street. read more

Stayed at the Villas Key West February 2013. We found the pool area and our room very clean and well maintained. If you are wanting to be close to Duvall Street the location is great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would not recommend staying in Villa # 1 because it faces Angela Street and the noise from the trash trucks was quite loud very early in the morning. The rooms around the pool do not have this problem. I would stay here again. read more

Stayed in one of the 2/2 suites for a five day get away with family and friends to celebrate birthdays. The location 1/2 block to Duval St is perfect - walk to everything you could possibly want to do! The accommodations were equally great - a taste of "old town" Key West coupled with a great pool area, super friendly staff and rock solid WiFi. A great blending of old world charm and modern conveniences. When we encountered a small problem with the unit, management couldn't have been more helpful, offering several options to mitigate the problem and make us happy. This was a great get away and we look forward to coming back again! Keep in mind, this is a laid back Key West experience - if you are ready to "go with flow" this is the place to stay. read more

This place is really cute. It's clean, you have more privacy than a hotel & it's right in the mix. Hot tub isn't hot, and I got woke up at 8am on a Saturday by a leaf blower outside my window. Felt like he was in the bedroom. Rude awakening after hanging out on Duval until 1am. read more
