This place was a lovely getaway and extremely affordable considering its perfect location a block off of the center of Duval Street. The pluses include a beautifully maintained courtyard and pool area with all manner of palms and tropical plants that are very well cared for, and a pool that manages that Goldilocks just right magic of being refreshingly cool during the day and almost bath water warm at night. Whatever temperature you're looking for it to be, it is. So many hotel pools and the keys aren't heated at all, which they really need to be in order to be comfortable in the winter season, and others are overly hot so they aren't comfortable during the daytime. This one is perfect, and azure blue. La! I found the bed extremely comfortable and the room very well kept and clean, although I can see where many travelers would find it cramped. We wound up in room 13, which I think probably offers the quietest location within the complex as well as a slightly more sizable room than some of the others. My husband found the noise from the neighboring pub distracting when trying to fall asleep, but I thought the room was incredibly well soundproofed considering the amount of hustle and bustle in this busy tourist area. You will also hear airplanes taking off and landing here, but you also hear them everywhere elseon the island, and with the window air conditioning unit on high fan at all times I found the city noise was almost entirely drowned out. The ceiling fan, however, was unbalanced and when we had the repair person come look at it he said it's fine, which is certainly wasn't. My only disappointment in our visit was that the breakfast that were included were pretty meh. I've been spoiled on staying at b&B's where the breakfast was a huge part of the experience, and here I felt like every single breakfast we had I could have made much better at home. Especially in Key West where there are three creperies within a 3 minute walk of each other, the breakfast game is strong, so when you aren't bringing your a game it really shows. The manager of the facility and most of the staff were incredibly friendly and seemed to truly enjoy and take pride in their work, which made our experience extra enjoyable. We also enjoyed chatting with fellow guests in the charming breakfast nook and comfy poolside seats. We stayed here for four nights and stayed at the far more expensive Southernmost Beach Resort for one night during our recent visit, then spent a week with friends who live in the area. The room was much larger at Southernmost, but much more problematic and less painstakingly cleaned, and radically less soundproofed than our room here. On a future visit we would stay two extra nights here for the same price. read more

The room is large and light filled with lots of Windows. Air conditioner runs super cold which is nice after walking all over Key West in the middle of summer. The location can't be beat. It is surrounded by lots of great restaurants and museums. This will be our go-to every time we visit Key West. The place is super clean and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. read more

Although I am writing this ahead of finishing my stay, I've been remarkably impressed with my stay! Centrally located and very friendly (plus breakfast included -- hell yeah!). Only thing that might be a concern is parking (yes, there is a lot for 20$ an hour directly across (and they do have a 15 min park for dropping off and stuff) but it's small and if there are no spots.... Aside from that, I had a hard time getting in touch with them ahead of coming in (they have very specific times for contact). These are more "notes" than complains; I have enjoyed his hotel experience immensely and highly recommend them! read more

The Coco Plum Inn was everything we wanted in a bed and breakfast without breaking the bank or making us feel out of place. While most staying here were a lot older than us, this place didn't feel stuffy. The check in process was great, very quick and they let us check in a few hours early. On the other end, check out took a whole 2 seconds. We got to our room (standard queen) and while the room was small, it was just enough room for what we needed. While in the Keys, you barely spend anytime in the room anyways so as long as we had a comfy bed and a bathroom, we were happy! The beds were quite nice and the pillows were the perfect firmness. The TV is small and it takes a second to learn how to work but it had just as many channels as I do at home. Wifi does suck though so don't plan to telework from here! While the decor or the room may not be brand new, I did not see any signs of crazy wear. The AC was buzzin and keeping the room perfectly cool at all times. The bathroom was nice and they provided a decent quality shampoo and conditioner. They had plenty of soap and even a hair dryer. Two of the best things about this place was location and the breakfast! This place was right next to Green Parrot and 2-3 blocks from everything happening on Duval. The beach is just a short bike ride away and so is the Hemmingway house. The made to order breakfast was always awesome, from the waffles to omelettes and just things as simple as eggs and bacon. We loved our little cat neighbor at breakfast too :) We will truly miss this place- it was charming and cozy and all the staff was extremely friendly and kind. read more

Such a fantastic location! You cannot beat it if you want to walk everywhere! Polite staff that go out of their way to help you feel at home. Room was small (we booked the cheapest one) but clean and comfy. There are larger ones. Pool area is so relaxing. They offer beach chairs, sunscreen, ice and water. The provided breakfast each morning was delicious and efficient. The only improvement I can think of would be a full length mirror behind the door. I absolutely loved this bed and breakfast. This is the perfect place to stay because it is so close to everything. First of all, you have a liquor store and one of the best bars, the Green Parrot, right next door. Literally. Around the corner is the bike rental place for you to trek around instead of walking. Talk about convenient! When we arrived, we walked into the front office where we were greeted by the young man that runs the place. Super nice and very helpful. He's actually the one that told us about the bike rental. He showed us around the property and to our room. The pool is open 24/7, which was something that I liked. No time restrictions. If you need towels and sunscreen, it's there along with chairs and an ice machine. The pool was always clean with big enough chairs to get a good tan. Our room was at the very front and spacious. The bed itself was absolutely beautiful. If I could, I would have bought the headboard and frame. This bed was so comfortable. This room had a coffee machine with pods and a small fridge. My only ONE issue that I had on this room was the shower. Every time one of us showered, the entire outside area was getting wet. They need to put some sort of glass on the top to keep water from spraying to the outside. We were always using up our towels to wipe up the water. I also had to move the toilet paper and tissue because that also was getting wet. No bueno. Also, if you want room service, this has to be requested EVERY DAY you are there or they will not come and clean up or give fresh towels. Make sure to tell the guy in the front office the night before or in the morning before you head out for the day. Now normally this place will have breakfast served for their guests, but because of Covid, they gave $5 gift cards for each guest to use at the Cuban Coffee Queen. YES YES YES! We loved the breakfast sandwiches and their coffee. We had no complaints hopping on our bikes and heading over there in the mornings. We will definitely recommend this quiet bed and breakfast to anyone and WE WILL be back to this place. read more

Breakfast each morning was good, room was small & king bed took up most of the room, but bathroom was a good size. I thought the bed was too firm and could feel the springs at times. Woke up stiff every morning. Decent size pool was great for hot afternoons. There was also an ice maker and cold filtered water machine always available.Staff was accommodating, especially Sam who allowed us the check out late since it was pouring out on our last day. We stayed 1 week at this hotel. Good location but horrible service. We ran out of coffee pods in our room after 3 days. Requested more but never got them. The breakfast cook was totally rude to a couple from France and then joked about it. On the last day of breakfast he didn't have many of the items because he didn't go shopping. The facility was on the dirty side. The couch in our sitting area looked like it had been jumped on by a muddy dog. The place just looked run down. Management was not attentive to customers. No breakfast due to covid meant we had to go to Cuban Coffee Queen with daily coupons provided by Coco Plum Inn. I dont think there is much Vic didnt know about Key West. The in. Was clean we saw cleaning daily and Iean stair rails pool porches and rooms. We didnt experience anything except a relaxing safe trip. Even the weekend help was gracious and attentive. This is a historic in w modern amenities. 24 hour pool yes 24 hours! One block of Duval and steps from The Green Parrot, a little store next door free parking out front and a deli w ice cream across the street. I have read some other reviews and I will call BS , there is no way some of what we have seen is true if it was it has been rectified. No complaints here. Worth the money and lovely! read more

The Green Parrot is right next door so if you want to have drinks and live music you can stumble over. There's also a liquor store right next door to make in room happy hour convenient. Our room #5 was well appointed and updated. The Pool area is very inviting and kept clean. My husband and I stayed for three days a few weeks ago for our 5th anniversary and the place was great. The office staff was very pleasant and professional and all of the other employees that we met were very friendly and kind. Our room was well furnished, super clean and the bed was very comfortable! The location can't be beat and the pool was awesome after a long hot day. They supply everything that you need...pool towels, sunscreen...coolers for the beach! It was great! The only complaint that I have is the breakfast....each morning there were only two choices....you have your choice between whatever the cook decides to make and a yogurt parfait. I'm not a picky eater at all...seriously... but I personally cannot eat anything sweet or dessert like first thing in the morning. Especially while nursing a hangover. The parfait would have been a better choice I suppose if it wasn't sugary, strawberry flavored yogurt with more brown sugar sprinkled on top of the (literally) 4 blueberries. If you didn't want the parfait you can ONLY get what the chef chose to make that morning which was always an additional sweet, sugary breakfast. I asked if I could have toast instead and was literally told "No." Toast. Really? He was making French toast that morning so I know there were two pieces of bread around to throw into the toaster.....and not sure if he was making breakfast to order, which I assume he was, wouldn't that have made his life easier anyway? According to all of the other reviews there was a quiche of the day plus whatever the cook chose to make that morning. Well looking back over the reviews, they were all posted four plus years ago so I'm guessing that cook is no longer there. Half of the reason we chose to stay here was because we thought it was a great place to have breakfast before starting our day. It's just my opinion but for those who can't stomach sugary foods first thing it may be more hospitable, especially for a bed and breakfast, to offer a savory option as well. If you're not really a breakfast person or if you like dessert for breakfast then the Coco Plum Inn is the place for you. The only reason we won't be back is because of the breakfast. Like another reviewer mentioned, Key West has a ton of other great places to stay and unfortunately the Coco plum just can't compete in the "Bed & Breakfast" arena. We stayed in the Deluxe Queen room and had a secluded balcony with a view of Duval and the gardens below. The energy of this place is amazing, as the hosts are extremely friendly and talkative, helpful, and make delicious made-to-order breakfasts. Depending on the room, you may share a common entryway with other guests, which adds to the lax vibe of the Keys. We met some friendly couples on our trip staying at the resort, and the breakfast seating allows for mingling. This is hospitality at its best, where you feel like you are staying with friends in an amazing locale. Prices are on the low end for Old Town and the value here is unparalleled. read more

Friends recommended we stay here and were they right! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we couldn't stop raving about the place, location and of course the owners. We arrived late afternoon on a Friday night and Lynn called us to make sure we we're arriving and to set up our late check in. We arrived and our room and keys were clearly labels with a map of the grounds and key west. Cozy room on the second floor with a balcony and pool! You are literally next to the iconic Green Parrot, down the street from the beach, Hemmingway's house and Duval is a block up. You can't get a better location! There is a bike rental and scooter rental across the street and liquor/beer store next door. Great BBQ around the corner too! We met Lynn, Keith and Lou the next morning at breakfast along with the other guests. Everyone was super friendly, and Lynn knew everyone's names. Breakfast is fantastic forms eggs, banana pancakes to Belgium waffles and everything in between Lou will whip it up for you! By the time you finish breakfast, read the paper and socialize with guests and Lynn your room is made up with fresh towels and you are ready to start your day. They have beach towels and chairs and floats for you right at the pool along with sunscreen and bug spray. We were so grateful because Lynn took care of setting up the taxi for our departure and even gave us a late check out so we could enjoy our last day in the keys. So hospitable, and lovely people! Horrible experience. My wife drove down from Boca Raton and checked in on Saturday, July 13th. Unfortunately my son hurt himself late that same afternoon, so she had to return back to Boca Raton - 4 hour ride. Although the room was never used, the owner refused to provide a refund. My wife spoke to an office mgr before leaving just before 6:00 pm and was told someone would contact her next day - Never happened. My wife finally spoke to the owner on 7/17 who denied a refund. We could understand if it was after hours and we had to leave early, things happen. It is the lack of consideration that is so remarkable. Looks like Key West is no longer the Conch Republic of yesteryear, as the almighty dollar now prevails over common courtesy and good will toward men. We did receive a reply saying they could not go against their "policy", a guideline that was created by the ownership that can certainly be compromised. Inconsiderate and rude - Be very careful staying here. There are so many other places to choose from. I suggest looking around before considering to stay here. read more

We had a confirmed reservation via Booking.com made 3 weeks earlier secured by credit card and late cancellation charges if we no showed. After an 8 hour drive we arrived at the hotel and were immediately told by the owner, Tim G, that we were out of luck. Sorry but he had double booked the room, go find yourself another hotel! He claimed that our reservation only arrived two hours earlier, WHICH WAS A TOTAL LIE!! Late on a Thursday evening with the Lobster Festival weekend ahead we took what we could and it cost us $600 more. After consulting with Booking.com about the situation, they agreed that the hotel was responsible for the difference, $600, for Tim's egregious behaviour. Tim refused to honour his obligation and refused to reimburse the $600 because he says he was threatened, another lie among many others!! read more

We drove to Key West for the day, saw a vacancy sign and decided to stay the night. No clothes ... nothing, not even a charger. When we walked in we were greeted by Sara, the fluffiest, friendliest cat, so we knew we were in the right place. We didn't do much but shower and sleep for a few hours there but it was quiet and within walking distance of Duval St and Mallory Square so it was perfect for what we needed. The inside was modern and very comfortable but the best part was large private porch, wonderful for sipping coffee (or any beverage of your choice) and enjoying the beautiful weather. To top off our adventure, we were able to walk to the Southern Most Point and watch the sunrise. We didn't stay for breakfast but it sounded delicious (all the fixings). We will definitely look into staying here again. We may even live dangerously and bring a toothbrush next time. read more

The owners are very nice and go out of their way to secure on street parking for their guests. But that's where it stops. The unit we stayed in was absolutely filthy ! The A/C unit was covered in mold & mildew ! The humidifier filled up in about 20 hours and I was the one emptying it. It was also covered in mold. The bath room looked as if it hadn't been dusted in years and the off white tile grout was as black as it could be. It's funny too , at night they put out they occupied sign & put out the vacancy sign in the morning as they don't want to be disturbed. They definitely need hotel rescue for the gold mine they are sitting on. Also when we got home the bags & clothes had a really strong mildew smell that took many days of cleaning to get rid of it. read more

If I could give this inn more than 5 stars I would, because it was that perfect. Everything from the location, to the owners that go above and beyond to make your stay as nice as possible. Our room was gorgeous with wood floors and beautiful furniture. We could hear the music from the Green Parrot bar from our own private porch, as it's right next door. At night though we slept peacefully and it was very quiet inside. Walking to Fort Zachary State Park was easy from the inn, and the water is beautiful. The breakfast was great every morning at the inn and very accommodating. You can feel the love from the owners as they do everything possible to make you feel at home. read more

We were returning guest at this B&B, but recently the management has changed. Our room was never cleaned in the three days we were there, our bed wasn't even made. This wasn't our experience in the past several visit. There was never any hot water in the shower. Got old quick, luckily we were only there for 3 days. Gonna have to find somewhere else to stay, so sad. read more

Great location a block south of Duval. Lush tropical grounds. Beautiful pool which we didn't get to use because it rained all weekend. It is after all still our south Florida rainy / hurricane season. Rooms a nice, updated flooring, bathrooms, great matresses (pillows way to soft & mushy for us). Nice breakfast prepared to order; dine & chat with your fellow travelers on a screened porch. Friendly family owned Onsite management. Great pick, highly recommended. Parking is on the street, you may have go a couple of blocks, but you're gonna walk while you're In KW anyway. read more

I just don't know where to begin. We could not have had a better experience. We loved the vibe and everyone who makes this place so amazing. The pool was refreshing, a perfect place to hang out all day or happy hour after a day at the beach. Beach towels were provided, along with a collection of sunscreens. We donated our left over sunscreen to the collection when we left. Our room was comfortable. If felt like being at home. Our balcony overlooked the street so we could people watch. Breakfast was so so SO good...thank you Lou! I even made a list of all of the things I wanted to eat so I didn't miss anything. The resident cat completed the environment. Having the Green Parrot right next door was fun. The music didn't keep us awake at night and it was fun to be able to pop over for a beer with new friends. We easily walked to Ft.
