Enjoying our delicious , complimentary coffee and infused water, sitting at the pool!

We arrived at Orchid Key much before check in time, however, they could not have been more accommodating. They seamlessly checked us, told us about the resort amenities and showed us to our room. It's a lovely little resort, with old Key West charm and great service. The rooms have everything you need, including lotion, shampoo/conditioner, coffee maker, and small refrigerator. They also leave waters in your room, which is always appreciated. There was a problem the first night and they handled everything so well. We could not have been happier with the management here. Our room came with a lovely little breakfast and delicious coffee, as well as happy hour. It's so conveniently located, in the heart of everything, but not loud. And it's extremely clean and well kept. They also have bicycles you can rent right on property. Chris at the bar is wonderful. Housekeeping was wonderful. Honestly, every employee we spoke with or saw was pretty great here! We love the pool with the incredible palm trees surrounding it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming here next time!

Second time here, this is the place my wife and I stay. It's a small hotel but that's better I think. They have a little bar for drinks at night by the pool. Very friendly staff, no complaints about anything. The real appeal of this place is the location. It is right on Duval street very close to the Hemingway house. Duval street is where you want to be in key west. My wife and I didn't rent a car so this location was important to us. Everything that is worth seeing is within walking distance. There is a CVS like 500 feet away to get supplies and Duval has great restaurants everywhere. Just walking from one end of Duval to the other is enough to keep you busy all day. The butterfly house is close by, the Hemingway house, and plenty of places to get an icy alcoholic drink. After you are tired from eating and walking and seeing all the sights it's worth it to be close to your bed! You can come back to the hotel and then just have a drink by the pool.

    Sunset pier is beautiful

Perfect location, awesome staff, clean nice rooms, the only place I'll stay when in Key West. The breakfast is healthy and delicious! Located just a few blocks from the ocean and 0 mile marker buoy, Hemingway House, light house, and more!

This was parked in front of our room all day each day of our 5 night stay.

While a fun, little "upscale motel", this is not luxury. The very small guest room was clean and well kept, but I had a housekeeping cart in front of my door daily while they cleaned the entire corridor. Really? You have to park in front of a guest room all morning? She was however very friendly and smiled each time we saw her. Continental Breakfast is bountiful, but pedestrian and did not seem to vary much during our 5 night stay. Manager should address staff not eating from it and feed them elsewhere. The bar was disappointing. Your long term bartenders cater to their local friends and whoop up quite a party every night, but hotel guests can never get a bar stool and feel like the outsiders to their private event. Every. Single. Night. You may also want to audit the cash handling and "comp drinks for buddies" going on with your camera system. Lastly, giving up any hope of being able to enjoy your bar, I bought some nice bottles of wine to enjoy by the pool and these same cocky bartenders were snarky about helping me open and borrow glasses....please remind them what we pay per night to stay there. Trudy and the Front Desk team were terrific. Warm greetings, fond farewells and helpful with tourist questions.

This was one of the best mini-vacay I've had post COVID. We were greeted by Kat with a big smile that set the tone for the whole experience. Thank you, Kat, for being so wonderful. You made our 29th anniversary so special! It's a cozy boutique hotel with all the amenities needed, and the best part was the personal service. Can't wait to go back!

With the reopening, we are back for the first time. The place is nicely kept during our absence. The parking fee is now $20 per day including charging our Tesla @ 30A/hr (full charge from near empty is about 7 hours). We stayed at one of the suites. There is a large window that opens (although there is no view, only the wooden fence).

All I can say is WOW!!! I am convinced that this Inn made our first trip to Key West thee best ever. The staff is so accommodating, so friendly. I cannot say enough about them. Always smiling. Always helpful. The rooms are beautiful. The Complimentary breakfast is awesome and served by an amazing woman who when watched appears to be Super Woman. She was getting drinks, keeping food ready & available, restocking anything low & making sure tables were cleared for the next guest. The atmosphere here was so chill and luxe. We truly truly enjoyed our time here. Oh and the location is

The Orchid is adults only, which as stressed parents we very much needed! There is a peaceful secluded pool area, that is cozy and and beautiful. Comfy soft robes, and lovely rooms. While the Inn is nice, the staff is absolutely amazing. While we were here we had two people tend bar for us. Peter was kind and accommodating, and offered kind late night conversations. Tip him well, he deserves it! The second, was Alex on our last day. His personality was amazing and we ended up sampling a new liquor after just having casual conversation with him. We absolutely adore the staff here, and will come back for their kindness alone. The beautiful decor was a plus

Orchid Key sits on the corner of Duval and Truman which is an absolutely perfect location if you're looking to be close enough, but far enough.... The first thing I noticed were the beautiful orchids everywhere on the property, they were absolutely breathtaking! The rooms were tastefully decorated and spotless upon checkin. The property was clean and there is a small bar on site with a mixologist who creates great adult beverages. Very hard to find a hotel that deserves five stars in KW... great job!

From the outside it looks just like a motel but once you step inside it is like a romantic oasis. From the friendly staff to the beautiful rooms, it was relaxing. We stayed here from Aug 9th to Aug 11th and Cindy at the front desk took extra care of us. The complimentary champagne for our special occasion was a very nice gesture as well. The bar was modernized with sweet bartender. Terry is very upbeat and friendly. The breakfast was continental style and decent enough. The grounds were clean and rooms were impeccable but I agree very small. Then again we did not really stay in our rooms. The pool and jacuzzi was a relaxing spot to hang out at during the night for us since key west temperture this time of year is hot and night time was cooler. Overall a very nice stay. We plan to come back again.

First time staying here was last summer... and yes, this place looks like a motel from the outside (cheesy neon lights included) but inside was wonderful! The rooms are fresh, contemporary & really nice - like a minisuite. The living room area had a couch and loveseat, coffee table, large flat screen tv and minifridge. The bedroom had a king bed & large flat screen tv, dresser/mirror & plenty of closet space. The hallway separating the bedroom & living area hosts the bathroom, which was split into a shower on one side of the hall and toilet room on the other side with lotion/shampoo/conditioner from Bath & Body Works. Central AC was nice & cold too. The room was immaculate with nice lighting and very quiet - you couldn't hear the party on Duval from here even though it was right outside your door. The property has a pool and jacuzzi, and breakfast is served on the patio bar (coffee, juice, tea, hard boiled eggs, bagels, pastries, cereal, fruit) though it's only avail. during the early morning hours. There is a small parking lot so you can ditch your car & walk or bike around town for the rest of your stay. Be sure to check out the complimentary happy hour at another of their properties just around the corner w/ wine & cheese, beer & veggie platters. All you can drink, a nice start to my holiday. Cheers to you Orchid Key Inn!

I would have given this place a 5 star if our room had a tad more space. I know, I know........they had to upgrade the rooms and keep the structural integrity of the old building intact. The location is perfect; just on the edge of the quiet end of and the "action" end of Duval Street. Five Guys is across the street. CVS is a block away. All rooms are ground level for easy access. The commode's height in room 116 was compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, I believe. We will ask for a Junior suite next time and leave the smaller standard rooms for young adults. Seems the bigger rooms have the least appealing view though (not poolside). I love the poolside view of room 116. However, I will forgo the view and ask for a none-poolside junior suite next time. Call and ask for Brandon if you need assistance. He works daily except on Mondays. The indoor bar area is small but the bartenders do some special things with drinking spirits. The space is irrelevant unless the weather is unpleasant as there is plenty of poolside space just outside the bar's door jam. There is an array for breakfast (fruit, boiled eggs, breads (sweet & plain, yogurt and juices); everything except meat. The coffee is very good medium strength java for drinkers like me, not Starbucks strong (thank GAWD). The TV in our room did not have an HDMI connection even though the TV is a flat screen. That means your Apple TV device, for example, will not work so no iPad, iphone, or Mac mirroring. WiFi in our room and outside was full up. We were able to watch a WNBA game poolside via an iPad App with no lag time. Ask the pleasant desk clerks for discount coupons before you venture out. They will also suggestion activities if you run out of ideas.

Pool area, there is an onsite bar for mixed drinks, beer, wine, and soda. Quiet place to hang with friends and chat.

The breakfasts for the price taste dismal and lower quantity. 2 eggs bacon, toast, and chopped potatoes a bit over $20 as most other dishes plus smaller sizes if you just want a donut or similar. The vibe I get is for breakfast this place is for guests who have a hotel package that includes free breakfasts. They also charge a 18% mandatory "service charge" and of course another line for the tip. We didn't do dinner here. I hope its better than the breakfast. 2. We booked under The Edge Chase Sapphire Reserve so its $100 property credit and free breakfasts for 2. When you consider "service charges" tips, taxes, and determine what the credit can be used for, it becomes a bit confusing. I know for a fact that laundry is not included, neither is the $50/day valet parking. Sort of an resort advantage to keep the guest guessing. Drinks food, spa i know are included with the $100. The valet guy was cool and informative. Considering the small island size and the cost of everything, this was a great stay. The room and balcony overlooking Malery Square plus the ocean and Sunset Island were fantastic. I have stayed at many locations over the years and this was by far the best. Pegasus on Duval is a dump. Both Hyatts are nice but on east side of the island so transportation becomes an issue. Do you really want to drive close to Duvall....if you can find a space, then pay for parking? This place is 2 blocks from Sloppy Joe's, Hogsbreath, next to Malerly Square and sunset pier. A female guest was verbally cornered and aggressively berated by an enraged male patron over a minor non-issue involving a bird near the family pool deck. Despite multiple eyewitnesses, who were asked to confirm the woman did nothing wrong and that the man was the sole aggressor, hotel security decided to de-escalate his threatening behavior. In addition, it seems security contacted local police on behalf of the man to have the female guest and her children removed under threat of arrest. We fully understand that this hotel is private property and management has the right to enforce rules on its premises. However, paying patrons also have rights. One of them is the right to a safe environment and fair treatment. Using private property rights to shield an aggressive patron while penalizing a victimized woman is a complete failure of duty of care. As a paying guest, watching management handle this safety concern the way it did was alarming and disappointing. While this was a verbal assault and not a physical assault, it should not diminish the fact that the female patron responded to the man to de-escalate using logic instead of emotions. To the mom - please reach out here via message to let us know you are safe and sound with your family. We tried reaching out through the hotel and on OoenTable/Google Business. Hope you're doing ok now! To the man with anger issues on principle - just because you thought your child (and the woman's children) may have overheard a swear word when a bird was being shooed away from tainting the pool water, it could have stopped with you. Teach your child to not say that word instead of dressing down a mom in public for your audience. This could be a core memory for children and adults, especially those who witness this in the home. My own children, who watched this performance, said to me they were worried the argument would turn physically violent. I'm happy it didn't, but it did ruin our afternoon. We have not been back to the family pool since then. Life is short, my brother, and you got your free drink. Please choose better next time. There was no need to get security and local police involved. I am sharing this with you, sir, and others here because I, too, have anxiety and PTSD from work, life, and other challenges.
