Absolutely love this hotel. We were upgraded to a king balcony suite on the 2nd floor, it was great for people watching. The pool was nice as there were barely any children (sorry not sorry). The bartender at the pool was very quick and easy to order from. The service downstairs at the bar was amazing, we were treated exceptionally by every staff member we encountered. We were thrilled with our experience, the only downside is our room was a little warm but the staff brought a box fan as soon as requested. Enjoy! read more

This hotel has been here for 100 years. It was closed for a couple of years recently for renovations and it is quite lovely. The location is amazing. As Key West is a small island, you can walk just about anywhere you need to go. The staff were friendly, always greeting and smiling. The concierge helped us with trolley tickets which , as it turns out, we didn't really need as everywhere we wanted to go was reachable by foot. Bicycles are available free of charge which was nice. The room was nice, no drawers though. Cons: elevator doors in bad shape and it is super slow. Restaurant is expensive but that's to be expected. Had an issue in El Dom breakfast Restaurant, we were charged for something we didn't order and I think the woman, Nora, was saying she gave us a break on something else. We had a hard time understanding her . I got a yogurt which is supposed to be $6 and she charged $8. She charged for a bagel which we did not order. We gave up because she kept arguing and it was useless. That was unpleasant. I would definitely stay here again read more

I recently booked this hotel through Chase Travel and drove to Key West from New York, excited to check into my double queen room. Upon check-in at 4 PM, the employee told me they were fully booked and had no record of my reservation ( i had the full confirmation). They also still had MORE rooms available online. She offered to try to find me a room at their sister property, which I didn't want due to location. I returned 10 minutes later and she said a king room had become available, but it was out of service due to ceiling repairs and told me to come back at 5:30 PM. I needed a two queen room, but there was nothing else I could do at that point . She gave me a valet ticket for when I returned. I called at 5:30 PM to confirm the room was ready and was given the runaround again (they couldn't find my name, and no one knew what I was talking about). Finally, at 6 PM, I received a call that a two queen room was now available. Once I returned , I had to argue with the valet who didn't believe I already had a ticket. No one at this hotel communicates with each other. I requested the removal of the resort fee and valet charge due to the late check in, which they granted. However, the resort fee's benefits were never explained to me (apparently it includes a $15 food and drink credit that was never mentioned). It was a complete mess. I would not recommend staying here because there's no guarantee they'll even have a room for you upon arrival. They overbook rooms and then give you the runaround so be prepared for the possibility of having no room and no solution. Also, all the reviews about the broken AC are not a joke, the hallways are about 80 degrees and the rooms don't  cool down. Wow- beautiful, colorful and conveniently located in Duvall Street- we loved staying here for two nights during our visit to Key West. The rooms are spacious, the bar made the best mojito, the breakfast was top tier, the hospitality excellent. The only small problem we noted was that the elevator closest to our room was out of order. We took the one past the bar, but using a cart filled with our luggage realized we had to go down several steps upstairs to get to our room, rendering the helpful wheeled cart useless. But all in all/ easy self parking and everything else makes it easy to give high praise - we hope to return here someday! read more

The designers have certainly done a phenomenal job in this old space, but the day-to-day administration is still finding its way. It seemed understaffed, in short. When I checked in, I was told the room wasn't ready (OK, it was three hours before check-in) and they would call when it was. I still hadn't received a call by the check-in time of 4pm, so I went back to the desk. The room had been ready since 2pm but the system had issues flipping it to show that it was available for check-in. Then at the Tropicado Bar that night, the two bartenders were absolutely overwhelmed. They definitely could have used a third bartender, or a drink runner, or something. I will say the staff was all unfailingly pleasant in the midst of the chaos. The look of the place is wonderful. It's got that Florida/Old Havana vibe down pat and it's all beautiful to behold. I splurged points on one of the executive rooms with a "terrace" on the top (7th) floor. The design is spiffy and almost everything worked properly, which doesn't always happen with recent renovations. (I couldn't figure out how to get the handheld wand in the shower to turn on. So many knobs.) There were already some paint scuffs here and there on the walls, so some more attention needs to be put on ongoing maintenance. The views are great from the top floor, though the terrace (narrow) was slippery when wet and I nearly fell when I stepped out onto it. The mattress didn't seem as high-end as other Autograph Collection properties, and the bedframe felt a little low to me. The location really can't be beat. I think it's still a very viable option, but if they smooth out some of the operational/staffing things, it could be the go-to hotel for the Duval St. core. read more

I am always looking for spaces that have a distinct soul, especially when I am behind the lens, and La Concha in Key West really hits that mark. It is located right in the heart of Duval Street and manages to feel both storied and full of life. The interior design stood out to me because of the thoughtful use of eclectic art and the general vibe that captures that tropical, sophisticated aesthetic the Autograph Collection is known for. We spent quite a bit of time at the Tropicado Mojito Bar, and it was easily a highlight of the stay. If you are a fan of drinks that are crafted well and a lively atmosphere, it is a place you should definitely visit. My only small note for fellow travelers would be the pool area, because while it is a nice spot to cool off, you should not expect an ocean view. However, the historic charm and the location more than make up for it. It was so incredibly convenient to have such a centrally located hotel to retreat to while we were exploring Key West. Having that home base made it easy to rest or recharge my batteries whenever I needed a break, and it really was the perfect spot for our summer vacation this past July. I'd recommend reading my previous review (it'll make you think, what's wrong with this guy; he's a glutton for punishment)... So yeah, after all the hiccups and poor experiences of our previous stay, I have returned. To clarify why we chose here... I was with my son who was here for business and La Concha is very close to where he had to be; plus I noticed the hotel "FINALLY" upgraded the rooms. We decided to give the refreshed La Concha another try... For the record, nothing on Priceline stated the hotel was under construction, but when we arrived to the Duval Street entrance, the gates were closed with a note to detour to the back parking lot. We parked and entered the building thru the back door since we noticed they were doing work on the porte-cochere. And inside, we saw the new front desk area and it was VERY IMPRESSIVE looking (retro modern) BUT the bar, sitting areas and restaurant were all boarded up under construction. We check in and like most hotels charge a "Daily Resort Fee" but the same amount is given as a Food & Beverage credit... they also offered a free cocktail at the bar for both of us. I asked about how the Food & Beverage credit works and between poor explanation and hand gestures I was left without a clear answer (like where is the food if no restaurant). I also inquired about the construction... "please tell me I can at least use the pool"... NOPE, but they offered to deliver me by golf cart to their sister hotel for their pool (very inconvenient). In the room, I was impressed with the new look... all the power outlets work now, the night tables have charging ports, the wallpaper and paintings were perfect... All great... with mixed feelings on the view. Normally I'd be very pleased, open the window directly to the pool... except there is construction workers drilling, washing and hammering SO I COULDN'T EVEN LEAVE BLINDS OPEN (loud noise and no privacy). Later (about 8PM), I wanted a drink (but not a cocktail)... they have a mini-market but a sign blocking the entrance saying they are closed October 26 (but this is only September).... I asked at the counter if I am able to get a soda from this market instead of the cocktail and is it open.... I also asked about where breakfast is available for our food & beverage credit... I was told he was new and had no answers. The next morning we did manage to have breakfast; apparently a portion of the restaurant is open. I also learned the mini-market is open and no one has a clue about the misleading sign blocking the entrance. AND THE KICKER... we're checked out and about a hundred miles up the road when my son realizes he left a button up and slacks in the closet.... The Front Desk assistance on the phone was useless... over and over they state nothing was found and we must've made a mistake. After too much back and forth I asked for their policy/process if housekeepers find clothing left behind.... it's turned into the housekeeping supervisor. Supposedly the Supervisor was telling the Front Desk they found nothing and I insisted they get up and go physically check the room. They said the rood is already being used by someone else; to me, I'd be suspicious that the housekeeper was holding it (possible theft). I asked for a Manage and within 5 minutes the Front Desk clerk says "they found it"... how ironic! We ask if we can provide a shipping number to have it shipped and they said they don't do that but they put the clothes in a bag with our information and have it at the front desk and we can have PAK-MAIL pick it up. The next day we call to let them know we have a local friend picking it up for us and wouldn't you know.... they said we don't have it. After another round of debating for 20 minutes, it's found but this time I had the manager get involved and she gave me her hours for my friends to pick it up. Our mistake leaving clothes behind but their mishandling of the situation plus all the other issues from construction activities and lack of reliable information from the staff, makes this a very poor experience.... Lucky for them, these are all things that can be fixed ! I would like to give another visit since the hotel improvements are nice and I stopped by a couple weeks after my visit and saw the main lobby reopened and it is very nice... hopefully the new restaurant and pool area is done soon. Hopefully next trip will get them back to better service to match the new decor and improvements. read more

Here is a breakdown of the issues we encountered: 1. Three Different Rooms, Each with Serious Issues: * Room 233: The hot water did not work--at all. This is basic functionality, not a premium amenity. * Room 237: The TV emitted a harsh, crackling noise as though it had been struck by lightning. Additionally, the room was missing two tables, making it feel incomplete and unkempt. * Room 311 (Final Room): This room had ants in the bathroom and what looked like termites in the window frame. A staff member did come to spray, but as you can imagine, this is hardly a comforting solution when you're trying to relax and sleep in that same space. 2. Wi-Fi That Never Worked: The internet was effectively non-functional during our stay. We initially thought the problem was due to the confusion around room assignments, but even after the engineer reset the entire network, it still didn't work. I had critical work meetings I was forced to attend via personal hotspot, which was both unreliable and completely unnecessary at a property of this caliber. 3. Front Desk Phone Glitch: Calling the front desk led to a double-ring and, often, two people picking up the call simultaneously. If one person answered, the ringing would still continue in the background. The system is clearly broken--and reflective of deeper operational issues. 4. Multiple Guest Complaints: While waiting in the lobby or near the elevator, I overheard at least four other guests complaining about their rooms. One couple was even moved to another hotel. This is clearly not an isolated case, and it reflects a systemic failure at this property. 5. Dismissal of Loyalty Status and Inadequate Compensation: I was told that, because I booked through a third party, my only options were 30,000 Bonvoy points and a waiver of parking and resort fees. I was also told that the hotel is "not owned by Marriott" and only participates in the Bonvoy program--as if that excuses the poor service and conditions. This is a slap in the face to loyal members like myself. If a hotel is flying the Marriott flag, then Marriott needs to take responsibility for its guest experience--ownership structure notwithstanding. Frankly, this property operates at a level far below what the Autograph Collection brand suggests. I've had better experiences at budget roadside motels, which is not something I ever imagined writing about a Marriott-affiliated property. We travel to Key West a lot. Because of the amount of travel we do mostly for work we have ambassador elite status with Marriott. We had also booked five rooms we were put in the lowest level room of that group. The room also had a very weird gross smell so we asked if we could change rooms. We would've just stayed in the room if it weren't for the smell instead of fixing the issue they moved us to an even smaller room more than likely the smallest room in the entire hotel. Aside from that the service in the restaurant has gone way downhill. while the food is still good aside from the fact that no matter how you order your toast, you're getting it raw apparently simple service things like bringing a guest a cup of coffee and then making them wait five minutes for cream or serving food regularly without condiments or silverware if you're going to charge that much money for a hotel, it should be worthwhile. read more

Hotel feels like it's scrimping on everything. Had to ask for towels multiple times. Pillowcase was dirty and smelled like wet dog. The room we stayed in had water damage that was just painted over and I could see the mold in the cracking paint. Feels like they just weren't even trying. Friendly staff the afternoon we arrived but the woman who checked us out this morning seemed to hate her job and seemed annoyed that we even stopped at the desk to check out. We stayed at the La Concha for two nights over Memorial Day weekend and were very pleased with our visit. The hotel is located on Duval St, right in the center of the restaurants and bars. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Our room was comfortable, clean and had enough space. The only issue was the pool area. Many guests were complaining about the number of lounge chairs being inadequate. If they removed the furniture around it, they could easily fit an additional 10 chairs. I had an amazing time visiting La Concha in Key West. I love everything about this hotel and I was blown away by the beautiful renovations and the personable the staff. Our stay was fahhhhh-bulbous. It's on the heart of everything ( Duval street) but the rooms are super quiet when you need your sleep. Ex pet for the occasional parties walking down hall to their rooms ;) You can tell it's been here a while but the upgrades are nice. Beds comfy! CLeaning staff is on point- good job there. Bar downstairs was great to work in, food was good too! Gym had everything you need. Spin bike requires spin shoes. Pool was quiet but perked up on Saturday afternoon. Bar in pool area. Spent nearly $500 on one night. Wanted to love the hotel but the room was small and the AC didn't work very well- which is a must in key west! The room was missing the tv remote and called down to the front desk which took 20 min to finally pick up and another 20 mins to bring a remote. The room has an ice bucket but after doing a few laps around the 4th floor I called to ask where the ice machine was located only to find out there are none! Why have a bucket but no where to get ice? The decor in the lobby is nice and location is great. That's the extent of the compliments I can give the place. Definitely does not meet the Marriott Autograph standards. Hopefully it'll get better but I won't be returning to find out! read more

Been staying here for 20+ years. It's been through many iterations, but even as a Hilton Diamond member, I'll call out Marriott for getting this remodel right. The location on central Duval has always been the best on the island. Aesthetics aside, the place is really well laid out and mechanically sound (anyone else who stayed here in the past remembers the AC issues!). Aesthetics specifically, are on Key West point. Good reception upon arrival. Great mojito class at 4:30, ironically the bellhop was the one to tell us about it. Cool old hotel in the heart of Duval street which is basically the strip. You could equate it to River street in Savannah Georgia. It's a little dated with views only of the town and parking lots but it makes up for it with its location. If you're into the duval street scene. We weren't but it was easy access to everything in town all pretty much within walking distance. The one plus for me was an adult sized bathtub. When I checked into the hotel, there wasn't much consideration to the fact that I've been standing there for five minutes at 8:35pm and 9 hours of travel. (no idea where the staff was.) The next day, talking to the bellhop about parking, when I told him I parked myself, he was snide and gave a disgusted look. Traveling a government orders, I was to told provide my credit card and drivers license for photocopy (FL tax laws) When checked out all was fine, I landed at my final destination, I had a message from the accounting staff and said if I did not provide them with they "misplaced information" by close of business that day they would charge me back taxes; already 9pm at night. (I asked them what they want to do about losing my credit card and drivers license which was photocopied? I was told: "we don't have it, which is why I called you, but I can promise you we didn't lose it" When I called back for resolution on the phone, the account manager was not very polite. I kept asking her questions. She just finished with thank you and hung up on me. I waited for an hour to get the email that she wanted me to fill out. I had to call back and find out she never sent it and went on break. Apparently, this is super urgent and needs resolution. However, I still haven't received email. Lastly, there's a horrible Trumpet player that plays music right outside the main window on the street from nine till midnight. Playing the same four songs and he's not even good. Not a peep from the operator that the hotel is undergoing massive renovations, that there is no pool, no restaurants. When I question the front desk, he just says "sorry, but you can use the pool down the street." Horrific attitudes, and terrible communication. Stayed here for a brief visit to Key West. It's part of the Marriott family of hotels, and is listed as a 4 Star accommodation. The place is beautiful inside, and the rooms are very nice. I went on bachelorette trip to key west and what was supposed to be the time of my life turned into a nightmare...none of the three rooms I reserved had no AC..no problem they moved us into another, but the second night the AC wasn't working in all of the rooms and there was a roach. We called front desk around 2am and were told nothing they can do. We checked out and they said they would refund us for the last night..let's not forget we rented three rooms. Well guess what, they don't answer the phone and the manager never calls us back. We have been disputing the charges with booking.com for months. Booking.com needs confirmation from the manager but they will not return my calls. I do NOT Recommend staying at La Concha Hotel. The service was non-existent or poor which really ruined a beautiful hotel. A week later there has been no follow-up on our calls and email, let alone the promises from staff and a supervisor to have the supervisor call us who set up our stay. We stayed at La Concha for 4 nights and loved the hotel and location; our room was spectacular. Jesse, the bellman, was fantastic and was much more responsive and helpful than the front desk staff. However, everything else was very poor. The service and follow-up on any requests was pretty non-existent. The room prep was lacking before we arrived with soap, conditioner, and body wash not having been replenished. The small tube of lotion had been used by the previous guest. We requested the soap and conditioner since we could not shower but it took a day and a half to get it. We requested a room service/cleanup on the following day but it was not done. When we called the front desk on the 29th, we were told that we would receive a $100 credit, but that did not happen until I called 5 days later. I was again told that the supervisor would call us but that still has not happened. I emailed another supervisor and have not received a response after a week. What we thought would be an outstanding stay at a quality hotel turned out to be very disappointing and certainly not worth any price, especially given that it is a pricey hotel. The service at two Fairfield hotels further north in the Keys was far better...at a third of the price. read more

POST-RENOVATION WEDDING REVIEW: If you are looking for a hotel for wedding guests and suites to get ready in as a Key West bride, this is truly THE place. Out of our three room blocks, this was the best - and we heard RAVE reviews from our guests. GROUP RESERVATIONS: Carolyn in the group sales/events department is incredible. She made sure I had two suites for the groomsmen and the brides, and she was SO flexible with adding additional rooms to the room block. From champagne in our room (and my mom's room!) to helping family make reservations, she was responsive and made sure we had everything we needed for a seamless weekend. SERVICE: Shoutout to Monroe, a manager at the hotel, who truly did see to everything we needed the whole weekend! From the tour of the suites we did while they were still being finished to our wedding weekend, he went above and beyond. HOTEL AMENITIES: The pool is SO cute (and the bartender was so nice!) and the hotel bar was a great gathering space for our guests. The whole hotel has been redone (and they were actually finishing it up on some floors when we were there) and the gym is nice, the rooms are well-appointed, and I didn't think it was too noisy in most of the rooms being on Duval Street. The balcony streets were a little loud just because they're so close to the street and have doors, but that's what you get for being in a convenient location on Duval. I took the ferry and arrived early but communication would be great. There is none and not courtesy I was actually told check I. I'm not sure if I would choose this hotel in the future. 3 night stay. After the first night I took a shower. What a terrible experience. So the liquid soap products the hotel provides that are mounted to the wall, are placed in a position to interfere with the operation of the water valve. So the water is too hot, or when it's ideal, it springs back to cold. Thankfully they did find me a different room. The detonation fee is 30 bucks a day, but I never had any of it credited back to me. I also spent one night at the courtyard. That's where I will stay going forward. Asked multiple times in one day for the room to be cleaned and it was not cleaned by 6pm. All staff seemed surprised that no one showed up, especially since housekeeping was in our hall all afternoon. By this time, they stated no one could clean our room because housekeeping went home. This happened two days in a row. Additionally, the pool was closed for renovations, but there was no notice ahead of time. We were told that they had partnerships with other hotels in the area where we could make day-of reservations to utilize their pools, but upon trying to make said pool reservation (with the La Concha front desk), we were told that there's no availability for the entire weekend. The la concha was an amazing hotel to stay at. It was a very beautiful on the inside. They paid much attention to details. Everything was pink and pretty. The bar tenders were really nice and welcoming. Same with the front desk. Everybody was accommodating and ready to be there and so helpful. The complementary bikes were very nice and they helped us out by telling us and showing us how to use them. The entire stay was just very nice including the room. The poolside was beautiful. They had a hammock and seating included with a bar as well with the view of the pretty palm trees. And lastly, it was an amazing place to stay when you wanted to be close to everything. It's on the middle of the main road. As soon as you walk out the doors you could go left or right and there are stores and restaurants all around you. The overall stay was just amazing and I would definitely recommend if you are in Key West. Definitely will be coming back! read more

This is a review for the Tropicado Mojito bar that just opened inside La Concha. This is replacing the Wino bar that they had. First off let me say the remodel is nice. Bar stools very comfortable. I think the prices have increased a lot. I am a local but we visit these places for a happy hour experience. Wine was good but that's an easy thing. The snack was just ok My friends Mojito she said was good. Served in a tall glass do disguise the drink is small but $$$. They gave me a local discount but on the bill they charge an 18 percent service charge ???? Stayed last week with wife for a 3 day weekend. What a complete disaster. It's a Marriott Autograph...I'm not sure how they allowed that to happen. Front desk is absolutely rude and not helpful in anyway. They did a remodel from when I stayed a few years ago. It's ok, it definitely does t feel like key west. It not inviting at all. Went to the bar on site and the bartender made the worst mojito possible. The mint was brown and bitter. My wife ordered a appetizers and we're not edible. Next day we went to the coffee shop on site as they told us it was Cuban coffee.....it's not. It's Italian or something from the grocery store. It was awful. We told the manger of the experience and she looked at us as if we were inconveniencing her. Save your money and stay somewhere else. It is not worth the $ read more

La Concha: A luxurious paradise right in the hustle and bustle of duval street, but quietly tucked away enough to be peaceful. The staff was wonderful, personable, and able to help with all of our questions and needs. The $30/day voucher is wonderful. The welcome drinks were delicious as were all the other drinks we ordered from the bar. Everything in La Concha truly feels like an elevated experience. We can't wait to stay again. El Dom: we loved this restaurant! It was surprisingly empty, but the food and staff were wonderful. It felt like they were feeding us in their home kitchen in the best of ways. headed here in a week so will update w more details then, but so far this experience hasn't been great. Was told on 3/20 that the pool would be open by april, IG says closed until October and all reviews on other sites seem to confirm this. Also, no one picks up the phone when you call. The property was beautiful and well kept, even during renovations. The staff were all fantastic and friendly. We enjoyed every part of our stay here. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Duval St. I highly recommend this property. read more
