My finest lodging experience in Key West, FL to date!! Incredible, friendly service from start to finish. If you are looking for fun, comfort, and haunted history, all amidst being right in the heart of duval streets quiet side, than this is the hotel for you. This is the perfect location, if your looking for a quaint and quiet spot to rest and regroup, meanwhile having some of Florida's nicest beaches, landmarks, and nightlife within walking distance. With a true, historic speakeasy downstream (The Rum Bar), you will take a walk through history. I would and will plan to stay here again !! The epitome of a Key West gem!!

This is a place to stay with a bar below. A lot of Rums to choose from, but they also have a card that have the common drinks for those of us not well versed in Rum drinks. Bartender was friendly. Drinks were awesome! Bathrooms were a shock, super clean, awesome soaps and lotions and salt scrubs. Smelled super clean for being in a bar. Bar, Table, and outdoor seating with umbrellas. Fun time. I stopped in here a few times during my 10 day visit. Bikers seem to stop in pretty frequently but are a funloving crowd.

    Nice touch!

After having visited the island for the 10th straight year, we decided to surrender ourselves to a place where we weren't hurried or rushed by trying to catch the next resort shuttle bus, and chose the Speakeasy Inn & Rum Bar. We are so glad we did; best stay we've EVER had! I booked the room in February for our 11 night stay in November over thanksgiving. Glad I did it nice and early too cause they book rather quickly... We arrived well1 ahead of check-in time and were greeted by Tonya who graciously let us check-in uber early so we could get settled before heading out. We booked room #4 which is called "Everything you need and nothing you don't". It was perfect for us and the name said it all. It was super-clean with an awesomely comfy queen size bed, an armoire, microwave, mini fridge with complimentary water bottles, coffees and coffeemaker, toaster, silverware, glass wear and dishes, a private bathroom with a shower big enough for the two of us. In the room there was a coupon for 2 free drinks and a personalized letter addressed to me that welcomed us to the Inn and thanked us for booking with them. Nice touch! We roamed the island daily and would return to the room often to drop-off, pick-up, etc.. and the room was always cleaned by the staff and the water supply was replenished by 11am for the duration of our stay. The biggest surprise to us was the continental breakfast. Holy smokes! The resorts we stayed at in the past need to stop by the Speakeasy and take notes! Cereal, milk, assorted breads & pastries, yogurts, fruit tray, hard-boiled eggs, ham, assorted cheeses, oatmeal and assorted toppings, Nutella spread, peanut butter, jellies.. It was a lot of options and will save you $40 per day for breakfast elsewhere! The bar was and is another big hit for us here. Not only do they have an incredible array or rums to try, the bartenders were all also very unique and 100% awesome! Pat was super-cool; laid back, friendly and informative. We talked rums for a long time and he actually gave us a gift card to a local, newer breakfast/brunch spot! How cool was that?! Geno was another of the bartenders we had the absolute pleasure of meeting and he had us in stitches - Super funny, wicked nice guy... and then we met a bartender who forever changed my life and thoughts about pumpkin flavored stuff. I loathe pumpkin anything however, Mindy made a pumpkin hummus for all to share and it blew me away! It was the BEST hummus I ever ate! I couldn't get enough of it... seriously! She was also super-nice and very sweet and gave my wife the recipe, which we will be using for Christmas; hip-hip hooray! Overall, each and every staff member we met was super nice, friendly and accommodating from check-in with Tonya to check-out with Scott, who by the way is one of the nicest guys we've come across on the island. We were blessed to have found this gem and to have met the folks we did and are very much looking forward to our 11th year back and our next stay here at the Speakeasy. Thanks everyone for being you and for treating us so well! Can't wait to see you next November/December for my 50th!

Perfect room just off the street. This is a sweet haven in Key West. We will definitely stay here again!

Very quiet, and older clientele. On the quieter side of Duval. Bartender was very friendly, drinks were good.

Great, fun bartenders, and by far the best rum bar (only 180 varieties to choose from) on the island!

Property does not have one consistent vibe, but it is closest attributed to South Beach/modern. Rooftop bar has live music in the evening and good drinks while overlooking Duval street. Breakfast selection is good, but if you are used to complementary breakfast through the Marriott status, then you are only offered eggs, bacon, granola, and toast. Sadly the bacon was stale (we were one of the first, if not the very first to order breakfast, so it being completely cold and stale tells me it's not from today). We asked for coffee at breakfast and were pointed to the coffee station on the front end of the bar. Just drip coffee, nothing special. No milk, alternatives or honey, just cream, sugar and stevia. That part could be improved for it being about $400-$500/night. The room itself is decorated well and clean. Plantation shutters look great, but they do let in light in the morning since hotel doesn't have any curtains. Walls are thin as we heard the phone ring, but turns out it was our neighbor.

It was late night and there was not much available. Miraculously, this place ended up our final destination after 4 of us were on our phones for literally at least an hour. We ended getting to the place nearly 10:30 pm. The staff was AMAZING!! The place was beautiful with a location right in view of the water. The rooms we got were impeccable. Crisp white sheets, fluffy white towels, plenty of bottled water in the mini fridge. Poolside, they offered cool individually wrapped facial towels, sunblock, sunglasses wiping cloths, and much more. Their restaurant was ocean facing and very nice. We ate breakfast there 2 days in a row and it was wonderful. The only issue was our beautiful view was blocked by cruise ships on both days. The ships were there until nearly 4 pm... that part was definitely not good planning for the view. But for watching sunsets after they were gone... ohhh my goodness. All in all, a fabulous place, sensational customer service and respect. But do expect it to be on the pricier side... well worth every penny.

On top of that the room is almost closet sized with an exposed shower and sink which makes it feel very humid in the room. Theres barely enough space between the bed and wall to walking into the room. The shower also hadn't been cleaned with a piece of old soap stuck to the floor and bug crawling under the pillow when i moved it.. I brought it to the attention of the man working the front desk who first told me it was a queen. The GM came on later that evening and admitted that it wasn't a queen and offered us a slightly larger rom but same size bed. Again the sink was in the room and it was stuffy and humid which made it hard to sleep more than four hours. I canceled the room after one night and tried to get my money back, but they've refused. Do not stay at this hotel. The "queen room" is basically just a hostel at hotel prices. $260 a night in my case.

It was a relaxing Oasis just two blocks from the hustle and bustle of Duvall, allowing you to partake in all the day and night activities, but then escape back to your quiet, peaceful place to unwind! The room was much larger than we expected with a large living room area with desk and mini fridge full of different drinks, with more drinks of all types on top, with a variety of snacks! The bedroom was also large, with a large closet and a VERY comfortable bed in a room that darkened to allow us to sleep in one day. Both rooms had TV's if you wanted to unwind with different show types. The bathroom was gorgeous with separated dual vanities so no spousal battles getting ready, a separate water closet (also helps avoid battles :) ) , and a huge shower with a great dual shower head fixture including rain shower. Given the propensity for high temperatures in FL, the AC in this place was great and ceiling fans kept the room as cold as you wanted. The pool areas were little botanical wonders full of great foliage, comfortable lounge chairs and just gorgeous serene surroundings. There were usually only a few adults there so it was a quite paradise to go read a book in the shade, lay out in the sun, swim or just relax. I'm not much of a pool guy, but even I enjoyed our time at this one. The lobby area is really cool with a refreshed vintage house and vintage furniture and decor. We ate at the cafe one day for breakfast and got great service and a pretty good meal. The staff was mostly friendly with a few more mellow younger folks, but some really nice housekeeping staff who joked with us! The only issue I could see is potentially the parking. We got lucky and found some on street spots but if not, I couldn't tell if they had enough parking and it's a little pricey at $30/night. This kind of quality doesn't come cheap, but we will absolutely splurge and stay here again if we return to Key West and have already told others about it!
