Randomly stumbled upon this cafe because we were traveling in the area and decided to stop by for a quick breakfast. There was a long line out the front so we assumed that this place was good...and it truly was! The highlight of this place is that everything tasted so fresh and healthy. We ordered a couple of sandwiches and we could tell the bread was freshly made. All the pastries hit the spot and weren't overly sweet. The true star of the show was the Mexican mocha...this was hands down the best mocha I've ever had. Even the kombucha was so fresh and delicious! The smoked tuna salad sandwich was the best I've ever had and features locally smoked tuna! The dishes with eggs are poached perfectly, the frittata is delicious & served with fresh greens. The sticky morning bun and the coffee are the perfect start to your day. Lots of vegan and veg friendly options, everything tastes extremely fresh and homemade, indoor and outdoor seating, a casual local vibe with friendly service, interesting art on the walls. Camped next door at Patrick Point State Park and thought we should explore outside the park. Yes, I should be cooking at camp but hey it's all for Yelp. Ordered the Fluffy cake and mocha. My other half had a latte. The cashier recommended the Fluffy cake and glad I agreed. It wasn't sweet which I personally prefer. They don't have paper cups for to go drinks, but you do have an option by purchasing a jar or bring your own cup. We opted to enjoy our drinks at the cafe so we were good to go. You know when you walk into a place and you immediately feel genuinely welcomed? Well they got that here! The young people in the front were friendly and were really hard at work. I ended up coming here back to back because it was so damn good. The inside is spacious, clean and full of little goodies for sale. The coffee was great, the chai & matcha delicious! Oh god and they have COFFEE ICE CUBES?! Shout out to the girl who asked me if I wanted them, seriously as a coffee lover I almost died of happiness. The vegetarian / vegan sandwiches are top notch, smoothie bowls filling and delicious. Shout out to you guys for not only including plant based food but actually making it taste amazing! Whether you're driving by on your way to the Redwoods or staying in Trinidad, CA this lovely family owned business has excellent food, friendly staff, and a lovely place to sit inside or outside. Beachcomber is a cute little spot in Trinidad. We stopped by to grab breakfast and called before to place our takeout order. You interact with staff at a window and they do offer outdoor seating. We got the eggy (English muffin with cheese, avocado, and poached eggs) and granola and yogurt, plus a double mocha. They don't give out paper to go cups, so you can have them fill up a mug of yours for 50 cents or purchase a mason jar for $2 (I believe pre Covid they would provide a loaner mug if you were dining there). They are definitely aiming for sustainability as their to go packaging was made up of as many reusable/recyclable items as possible. I'm all for it! The food was good and the mocha was tasty as well. Service was super friendly and our order was ready when we arrived to pick it up. I'm bummed I didn't get to return before we left town! Definitely stop here if you are in the area and need a bite to eat. read more

This is a higher-end cafe. A 12oz caramel latte, a 16oz caramel mocha, an everything bagel with cream cheese (only), a GF carrot cake muffin, and a "basic brekkie" (two poached eggs and GF toast, which was an upcharge, but that's expected) somehow cost $40+. Our fault for not paying closer attention to the prices. The coffee was coffee -- nothing to rave about, and the breakfasts were the same. The service was good -- the young lady who took our order (and brought it out to us) was cheerful. There was inside and outside seating. The weather made for a great time to sit outside, but we opted for inside where it was less crowded. The interior looks like what you would expect of an oceanside, northern California cafe -- nice framed art (for sale) on the walls, clean tables with little to no condiments or salt/pepper (you ask for them at the counter, I guess), clean, and populated with all ages and walks of life. It's a nice place, and I'd love to eat there again, but I think I'll stick with just a regular cup of coffee and maybe a muffin. I don't want to have to decide between putting gas in my car or eating breakfast. read more

We stopped by this cute cafe before heading to the Redwoods National Park. We love that the cafe is doing an amazing job observing the health protocols so we felt very safe dining in the little outdoor area. Service here was extremely friendly and welcoming. It instantly put me in a good mood even though it was so early in the morning. My sister and I both got the Griz. We loved the focaccia bread and the poached eggs were made perfectly. The portion size was also great. The don't offer any togo cups but you can get a cute mason jar for only $1.50! Highly recommend stopping by this cafe if you're in the area. This is one of the coolest places to visit! The staff are extra friendly, especially to the earth and your body! Bring a cup for a discount on your coffee because they don't have paper cups. They have fresh local food that is to die for. Everything we ordered was excellent. The Bean Bowl and the Grizz were great choices for breakfast! The Lavender Banana Blueberry loaves of bread were so good, I'm going to try an recreate it at home! The atmosphere and beach vibes were so great. I highly recommend for passerby's and for locals. I've been sitting here with my hubs trying to see if we've ever been to a brunch spot that tops this place, and we really couldn't think of one. Trust me, that says a lot coming from us because we've traveled like all around the world. This spot is totally my vibe and the food is truly AMAZING! It's a place I look forward to coming to every morning. What is so AMAZING? - The food is delish! There's gluten-free options and even the food that may not be so good for you, I don't feel bad for eating it because everything just seems to have something healthy in it. - The baked goods are super top notch! It's like they do something new everyday and even the day old goods, are heavenly. - They support the community and they believe in sustainability. For example, they don't provide to-go cups for your tea; instead, you can bring your own mason jar or buy one of theirs for the hot drinks on the go. - They have live music (I'd call for details on this first). - They have a bathroom. NOTE: It seems that the newest baked goods come out early and they sell fast. If you want to try one, I would recommend you come before 9:30am to beat the crowd. Believe me, you'll want to try one! EDIT: we had our take out sandwiches later in the afternoon and they were awesome. These restaurant owners are clearly very responsible and take pride in their business. Coffee was great, we had the Americano and honey matcha latte. Her Veggie breakfast sandwich was great, and we got some sandwiches to go along with baked goods. It was my breakfast that was the problem. I got about halfway through my smashed avocado toast when my wife pointed out the ants crawling out of my breakfast. I found about 3-4 in the arugula and told the server. She immediately took it back and brought a new one in a few minutes. Clearly this arugula was well washed and much more care was put into it. Had we not gotten the response to the issue, it would've been a 1 star review, but I appreciated how quickly they reacted and took it seriously. Hopefully next time they'll clean the kitchen better and pay attention to the little critters! read more

We drove up to Trinidad from the Bay Area a few weeks ago and we had breakfast here twice. We were so charmed by the staff, the menu, the space and the mantra. No paper cups. No waste. We loved it so much. You can either bring that cup that's been rolling around in your backseat so they can give wash and fill it with coffee, or you can have your coffee in a mason jar for $2. Such a simple concept. Why don't we do this everywhere? Ya'll know you have way too many mugs in your cabinets and under your car seats not truly fulfilling their destinies. Bring them here! My favorite thing about this place aside from their sustainable model is their staff. Melissa greeted us at the front counter. Cheerful and hilarious. We had several exchanges and we really enjoyed her. Also, Emily, cake maker extraordinaire, Alice, baking queen and Melia, expert sandwich maker were all so lovely to chat with. While we were sitting out in the back enjoying the sunshine, we were also treated to some live folk music by a musician performing in the Beachcomber's patio. So nice. Okay, I'm gushing now, but there's more. The food is phenomenal - just look at my pictures. Drippy egg sandwiches were to die for. Not to mention their muffins, cakes, and scones. YUM. I just had to get one of their "Yer Mom" planet earth shirts. The best. There really is no reason to go anywhere else within a 20 mile radius for your breakfast and coffee.
