In the area for work and decided to stay a few days extra and was thrilled to find this place for breakfast. Even though the diner is small; they do an incredible job of getting you seated and served as fast as they can. We sat at the counter which is first come first serve. Friendly and fast service. I had the west coast omelet and it was incredible - husband had the French toast which was awesome. They warm their syrup which everyone should! Cold syrup is the worst! So, brave the crowd, get yourself an incredible breakfast, served quickly and friendly and your pocketbook will be happy too! read more

Always delicious - also, always crowded on the weekends if you don't get there early. Even when they are busting at the seams the wait isn't more than 30ish minutes. Eggs on the bayou is a MUST for any eggs Benedict (and crab) lover. According to a chicken finger expert I know, the mama Helen's chicken and waffles is also a must try. Pancakes are great, nice and fluffy with lots of good flavor. The staff is always friendly and will keep your coffee full - and give you to go cups that are giant! Today was not my best Beach Diner day. I will blame the time of day for such poor food and service. Normally, I am an early breakfast person but today I came in around 2 p.m. That had to be the reason that my bacon appeared to be 2 days old and my pancakes we're more pan than cake. The good thing about Beach's Diner is they will fix whatever is wrong so my waitress finally brought out fresher bacon but not much could be done for the pancakes.. I know pancakes I make great pancakes at home and today's pancake batter must have been the last little bit and they just added water rather than make a fresh batch. Convenient and affordable. My boyfriend and I stopped here on the way out of Jax Beach.. I ordered the garden omelette with grits. He ordered the shrimp and crab salad. I've definitely had better omelettes than the one I received, but my boyfriend enjoyed his food. Also, we came at a very busy time, so the wait to be seated was more than previously stated by the hostess/cashier. I would suggest management to add staffing to the front of the house to execute things more efficiently. Lastly, the best thing was the customer service. The wife opted for the side of fruit and I the home fries which I probably should have went with something else. The chunks of potatoes were a little too big for me. Never a disappointment. This local breakfast joint is one of our favs - great food, great people and great prices. They are very family friendly and welcoming every time we eat here. The pancakes are moist, thick and delicious. The bacon is crispy and the coffee is hot and dark enough to drink black. So to begin, the location is really easy to find if you are from out of town visiting. Parking in the morning hours isn't bad at all, lots of spaces. Really close to Atlantic beach. The diner has a porch so you can sit and enjoy the cars as they wiz by on Atlantic Blvd. but lots off seating while you wait for a seat inside. I didn't have to wait long since it was seating for one and they had a counter top close to the bathroom facing a painting on the wall which I didn't mind(the spot sort of screams this person is lonely and sad). Hint wait for a good seat. The service is fast, and waiter was pretty nice to include the rest of staff. The food was a lot and tasty, I even subbed some menus items for fruit. This place always seems to be packed and have been avoiding coming here because of the wait. However, we finally decided to brave the wait and see what the fuss is about. Sure enough, we got here around 11:30 on a Sunday and there was a 30 minute wait for 2 people. However, since they had seating outside and the weather was nice, it didn't seem like we waited that long before being called. I ordered the corned beef hash, which I asked to be well done (I think I even said crispy,) with scrambled eggs and home fries. While I would've wanted my corned beef hash to have stayed on the flat grill a little longer, it is the closest I've seen compared to a NJ diner albeit on the salty side. The home fries were pretty good as well. The service could've been slightly better. Although our server was nice, she never came back to refill my water and I had to flag her down took ask for napkins as we didn't have any on our table. Overall, OK food and OK service. Based on dozens of high reviews here on Yelp, my wife and I decided to give this place a shot in June of 2014 while staying at the Mayport Naval Base, about 15 minutes from 501 Atlantic Blvd. There was one party ahead in line, but we were seated in under three minutes. When the waitress couldn't take our order right away, Jimmy became Johnny-On-The-Spot to get the order. It turns out that he was the manager and he could not have been nicer, even though his restaurant was packed and he was multi-multi-tasking. We shared a shrimp-and-crab omelette with hollandaise sauce and home fries and English muffins that were all just right. It's typically super busy in the mornings and when we arrived the parking lot was full, but we were sat right away. I ordered overwell eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes and tea. Came here while visiting family after hearing about how it's a Jax Beach icon and I must say it is worth the hype. The location is great-it has such an antiquated vibe to it and the food... ah the food is to DIE for. I can honestly say there was nothing on my plate that wasn't 100% incredible. The staff here is also really nice and attentive. More importantly I don't think we waited more than 5 minutes for our food. I hear the city are trying to change it to a gas station and push them out and I certainly hope they don't succeed because I can't imagine how much the community would miss this place. LOVE Beach Diner! This is a great, beachy, breakfast spot with delicious pancakes, french toast, omelets and benedicts, not to mention a pretty palatable lunch offering. I've been here what feels like hundreds of times and I always leave happy, stuffed, and generally ready to nap. I'd highly recommend the Shrimp and Crab Omelette, which comes chock full of Mayport Shirmp and fresh, flaky crabmeat. The service here is always cheerful and attentive, and the bright, sunlit environment is always winning on a sleepy morning.
