I ordered the pooh sunrise (scrambled egg, bacon and pancakes) and the portion was enough for two people. The pancakes had whipped cream and green tea mascorpone, which really made the difference. No syrup needed. The scrambled egg was all right... Tasted very plastic to me. I would skip that and just order matcha green tea pancakes next time or a different style egg. The food was awesome. They have one menu (double sided) dedicated just to breakfast (one column for pancakes, one for waffles and one for crepes). They also had a lunch menu that I didn't even touch. I can say...Bea Bea's has one of the BEST PANCAKES OUT THERE. Loved their pancakes. Their other breakfast dishes were good also...breakfast burrito, omelet, corned beef has benedict and coffee. They have friendly and nice wait staff that were very attentive. Check it out...this place is pretty close to me so I would be back just for their pancakes! There has nothing that I have had here during brunch time that I have not enjoyed eating. I always have to order pancakes because their pancakes have so much different varieties of flavors. I usually order the green tea monster pancakes. It has such a strong match flavor that I love. The loco moco, steak burrito, spicy tuna wrap and chilaqules is all good choices. With all that said, I just had to check this place out because they have matcha green tea pancakes and I'm all about anything that includes matcha green tea powder with it. The wait when you get there depending on the day can be a little long but definitely worth the wait. Food was okay, nothing super special but a typical brunch place. I really liked the iced coffee they have but other then that its just a run of the mill brunch spot. The service was interesting because it seemed like they forgot about us more then once while they were checking on other tables around us. I liked the Pumpkin and Mocha, so the lady adjusted to my liking. SHE was wonderful!! (And mentioned below!) To be perfectly honest, I'd gone several times before this terrible experience and each time was okay. I have discovered that the certain servers are more attentive, like the sweet Hispanic thin guy and the shorter Asian girl with glasses. Unlike other places where they just shove tons of pastrami in. This pastrami was a thicker cut. Just enough. You could taste everything else. Wasn't just all pastrami. It was balanced in terms of being able to taste everything they put in it. Served on a French baguette. This is a sandwich I would recommend you try. I never say it the best. For some reason Bea Bea's always lets me down. Maybe I'm expecting too much from them or possibly their food looks better than it actually tastes. But I always leave here feeling not quite as satisfied as I would have liked. I've tried their french toast, pancakes, coffee and most recently their Just For You Pumpkin Pancakes. The title of these pancakes sounds delicious, even the look of them does. And while they do taste something akin to pumpkin pie ... overall they were just okay. I ate them just as they are served, with the 'pumpkin cream cheese marmalade and whipped cream' and found that after just a few bites, I preferred the pancakes without all of the adjoining toppings. They weren't in any way inedible or bad or not flavorful, I just wouldn't ever order them again. Because while they taste okay, there are just so many better breakfast options around. You sign in at the back of the restaurant, there's a small sign that tells you to go to the other side. We waited 20 minutes on a Tuesday morning. This place is POPPING. The menu is extensive. I could come here once a week and never run out of things to try. It took us a while to choose what we wanted. My friend and I ordered the green tea monster pancake and egg white omelet with boursin. One of my good friends moved to Sherman Oaks from Burbank and frequented this place many times before, so she picked the spot. We hadn't seen each other in ages, because of both of our busy schedules and we wanted to meet somewhat in the middle of the valley and Pasadena. This place was packed! That is always a good sign. We sat at the bar where we were immediately greeted (plus plus!) I don't like being greeted 50 million years after being in the joint. I ordered the classic French toast, topped with strawberries, whipped cream, chocolate and a cup of hot coco. The portions were huge and trust me, I may be petite, but I can eat alot of food (it's the gluttonous pig in me). Two people could have shared my plate. The food was reasonably priced, the staff was very friendly and efficient and the food was obviously delish. I sat next to a chick who ordered the breakfast burrito that looked soooo good! It is always packed here. So we opt to sit outside on the narrow walkway on the backside of the restaurant because it's a lot quieter. Staff is super friendly and very attentive. Your coffee cup will never run dry. The portions are good size. And prices are roughly $11-$18 a plate. A little more than most breakfast places but once you've taken a bite, you'll gladly pay the extra for the great flavors and love put into each meal. The crepes and pancakes are delightful. I've enjoyed the hash and eggs as well, But I think my favorite so far is the Benedict's. Yea... I said It, Benedict's... It doesn't matter which one you pick, because they are all super yummy! Meeting for an early morning breakfast is a great way to bypass traffic, and Bea Bea's opens daily at 7am which made it a great option. Since it is located in a plaza with a Von's, there's also plenty of free parking, which means one thing less to think about. Service was pleasant and as I was waiting for my dc to join me, I was talked back into getting the Green Tea Monster instead of the Thai Tea Pancakes ($10.95 Thai tea cakes topped with Thai Tea cream & whipped cream). Sadly, I could not order both, as two sweets would have been just too sweet. I was hoping to share a sweet and a savory with my friend. Turned out that my friend was of like mind, so we did indeed order the 3 pancake high Green Tea Monster ($11.50 Matcha green tea pancakes, green tea mascarpone, white chocolate chips & whipped cream) which was quite good yet not overly sweet as a whole, with the exception of the bites which yielded the candy chips. As for our savory option, the BeaBea's Omelet ($12.95 egg whites with spinach, garlic, asparagus, jalepenos, broccoli, avocado, Boursin cheese & mozzarella cheese) in which we nixed the jalepenos was filled with a decent portion of well cooked vegetables and the hit of creamy Boursin cheese did good things to the omelet as a whole. As for the home fried potatoes that came with, they were a bit sodden by the omelet. So I would suggest seeing if it could be served on a separate plate to in order to retain its crispness. Portions here seem to range from reasonable to huge as evidenced by the Belgian waffle which was delivered to a nearby table. A friend and I shared the Thai tea pancakes and the matcha green tea pancakes. Both were so bomb. They had a good amount of sweetness and didn't need the syrup on the side. Bea Bea's is a popular breakfast spot in Burbank. If you want to get seated immediately, you should aim to be here early. I try to be here between 8-9 a.m. and haven't faced any huge waits. The menu list in this restaurant is huge, you have so many different variation of pancakes, waffles, eggs, etc. I find the best deal to be the combos that they have (such as Pooh's delight) and "make it special" to select the pancake/waffle that you want to try out. In this visit I ordered the apple pumpkin waffle and strawberry brownie pancakes. The apple pumpkin waffle was not great. I think the apple was too ripe because of the texture. It felt very mushy and I could easily make it to mush. The waffle was average, not as crispy as I'd like but it wasn't too bad. The strawberry brownie pancakes were ok, the chocolate in the brownie wasn't very strong, the dish mostly tasted like sugar. Not quite what we expected for the contrast between strawberry and chocolate. Honestly, the stealer of the show were the breakfast potatoes, they tasted like French fries. The services was good for how busy they always are, but I really dislike how cramped it is and how pushed together the tables are. The price point was more expensive than I would like, but at least there was free parking. All in all, I want to come back to try the green tea pancakes, but the atmosphere and food seem overhyped for me. read more

Went here to meet a friend pre covid shut down last Feb., 2020 and had the raspberry crepes and some coffee. However, the whipped cream on my crepes tasted a bit off, not sure if they add lemon or the whip was just bad. It was kinda packed that morning, so getting the waiters attention was a bit of a hassle. She was good about pouring coffee though! We waited a bit longer than needed for our check to arrive but she came back quick with our cards. I might've gone on an off day. I may try this place again once COVID settles a bit more. I know they have outside dining but it looks a bit too close than I would personally like I may just order take out since I live near by and can walk there. My second time here, it's definitely a solid three stars for me. I got the $12.95 Kin's Sunshine, which consisted of four sausage links and two eggs (got mines scrambled). In addition, it comes with specialty pancakes for an extra $2.00. For the pancakes, I decided to go with the Coconut Black Sesame Pancakes. It sounded intriguing. Taste wise, after the first few bites, it was pretty good. However, towards the last few bites, I gave in. The black sesame reminded me of the Chinese Black Sesame cereal drink GEE MA FOO. It started off light, but the heavy taste of the black sesame paste was too much for me in the end and the coconut flakes wasn't appealing anymore. I don't think I would get this again. As for the scrambled eggs and sausage links, they were delicious! The scrambled eggs were plentiful and fluffy, while the sausage links provided that yummy savory balance that I needed. I would get the Kin's Sunshine again. Service: Nice and friendly. My waitress checked in on me from time to time, and left me to be after she got everything that I needed. The Benedict had English muffin, avocado slices, a generous amount of smoked salmon, a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. Accepted my order online on Mother's Day during the pandemic... Walked in with a cranky crying 9 month old to pick up the food. They told me they weren't doing online orders that day. You definitely want to try to come here early. There's plenty of parking inside the plaza. This place gets packed and the last thing you want to do is wait 30-45+ mins to get seated. They really do have the best servers as they always refilled my cup of coffee, thanks! If you can and on a nice day, try to eat outside. There's definitely a lot of noise inside and the tables are so close to each other I felt like people were listening in to our conversation. That's just my side note.
