Spritz

Came here for a work happy hour and it was a great vibe! The drinks were super fun and unique. I got a spritz which was delish. But they had so many cool drinks For food we got a bunch of different things like the charcuterie, chicken wings, chicken sandwiches, pretzel which were pretty good for bar food! We sat in a private area on the patio which was really nice and then they played music later into the night. Seems like a poppin spot

Loved this place! Atmosphere is cozy yet loud (which I like). It got pretty busy in here but my friends and I had a great time drinking and playing out card games. Nut mix was delicious, had a sort of spice to it which I really liked. Elder tree is my favorite drink to get here now.

Forman's continues to be our "go-to" place to unwind, celebrate, and catch up with friends! The bartenders make the most amazing, quality drinks and the food is so delicious!

Drinks only! It's always great to stop into this bar! The drinks are always solid! I have never had a drink that I did not like at this place! Beyond drinks they serve a full menu! Unfortunately I've never eaten here but the food looks just as solid as the drinks! On Monday through Friday they have happy hour. Happy hour is from 2-6 where there select cocktails, wine beer and food items on the menu. Drinks are 6-9 dollars. The bar can get busy at this time. They do also have a patio area out back. Plus a small patio area out front for people watch. I prefer to sit at the bar to watch the action. They also have some couches inside that are perfect for groups. Street parking only. Can get busy so be patient in finding a spot! Cheers!

Horrible seating in the front patio
Ilya G.

We've been coming here for a decade, and the patio seating in the front has been the best part of the experience of coming here. Recently, they changed the seats in the front and put uncomfortable short tables with no back rests, and less room. Please change the seats back to how it was and i will change my review to 5 stars. This makes me and my group of friends no longer want to come here. Otherwise the vibe and food here is great.

Charcuterie plate and a glass of whiskey

Whiskey bar located in Toluca Lake with a very impressive selection of whiskey (my favorite). They have cocktails, beer, and bites as well, but of the times I've been here, I've mostly gone to get pours of the different whiskeys they usually have on hand here at more than reasonable prices. The decor has kind of an equestrian stable theme (I think) The folks here have always been really friendly and fair in terms of serving you in the order you come up to the counter. I've been here later in the evening a couple of times, but it gets a lot more busy/crowded as it gets later. The vibe in the early evening and during the day on the weekend is chill usually. Great happy hour deals and bites. I got the charcuterie board here and it was nice. I've had some of the other small bites as well and all have been solid to great. Okay, if you read this far: I would say this is my favorite place in all of LA to drink whiskey. Part of me wants to gatekeep, but they deserve all the business they get. Not only do they have an excellent selection, but they consistently get some rare gems that are not necessarily white whale status, so the prices are still in the mid teens to low twenties for some really quality pours. They do have higher end rare bottles, but of course you're going to pay up for that. The fact that these ultra rare bottles are there is another bonus if you have the funds and you want to partake. Parking seems to be fairly easy in the area, especially if you're willing to walk two to three blocks.

What a gem! This spot has such a cool vibe, cozy seating and decor inside and a huge beer garden outside! The perfect place to grab a drink with friends or a for chill night out with good vibes. Service is good and the bartenders are great, special shoutout to Louie for the killer Mai Tai. Food is also good, kitchen closes at 10PM. Definitely now a go-to spot on my list!

The Hickory burger with a veggie patty
Jay T.

I stopped by to take advantage of their lunch special, which is a pretty darn good deal, any of their sandwiches plus fries and a soft drink for a reasonable price. All their burgers can be substituted with a veggie patty, which is an awfully good option, and all those burgers taste wonderful! They don't have servers here, you'll need to place your orders at the bar, which can get a little old for drinks when it's busy... But the bartender was very friendly and helpful navigating the menu. Always enjoy the warm sportsman's lodge type atmosphere inside, unique vibe. Really nice spot in Toluca Lake on Ventura Boulevard, I look forward to visiting again soon.

I've been wanting to try Forman's for the last year or two and finally went. The place is very clean and professional. There are a few large TVs and screens to watch Dodger playoff games. The clientele is somewhat diverse and the bartenders were nice. I'd like to return for a burger or sandwich and Beef Tallow Fries.

Hickory burger - lettuce wrapped.

Forman's stands for Fuuuuuun! Great place for happy hour, meeting friends or a casual date. Indoor seating is cozy and bar staff is great. Outdoor seating is spacious and the ambiance can be fun when it's packed and they open up the outside bar. The food is actually great! I know, some bars don't have the best of choices but foreman's has great appetizers and if you're a burger person, please try the blue cheese burger .... Yum! I never like blue cheese unless it's on a burger! The hickory burger is fantastic as well. We had ours lettuce wrapped and they made the lettuce look like buns so we could eat it and not be extremely messy. I'll be baaaaa-aaaaaack!

Hot Chicken Sandwich
Shane G.

Forman's is a cool vibe with great pub food, good cocktails, and reasonably priced whiskey pours. The Hot Chicken Sandwich is amazing. Come in, order at the bar, and find a seat. You won't regret it.

I recently spent an evening with friends at Formans and it was an experience that exceeded my expectation. The outside of this Tavern doesn't match the charm of what awaits inside. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance set the tone. Soft lighting, charming and eclectic decoration with shelves upon shelves of beautifully displayed bottles from Scotland, Japan, and beyond. The atmosphere hits that perfect balance between sophisticated and welcoming European pub, making it ideal whether you're coming alone for a quiet escape or with friends for a night out. The whisky selection is truly outstanding! From rare single malts to small batch bourbons and beautifully aged blends, theres something here for every palate. The bartender took time to ask about my flavor preferences and introduced me to a few options I might never have tried otherwise. Each recommendation came with a bit of history and tasting notes that made the experience even more memorable. Every pour was thoughtfully chosen and perfectly served: just the right temperature, no rush and plenty of time to savor each sip. Of course, there is Beer, wine and coctails.... although it is limited in comparison to whisky choices. And while the whisky alone would make this place worth visitng, the food adds to the experience. The menu is concise; however, the standout for me was the Tavern hamburger. Hands down one of the best I've had! Perfectly cooked, juicy and layered with just the right combination of toppings on a freshly toasted bun. It's the kind of burger that instantly makes you stop mid conversation to appreciate how good it is. The fries were just as impressive, from the crispy fries and brussle sprouts. Sitting outside in the backyard takes away a little bit from the charm and the service can be disapointing. Whether youre a whisky connoisseur or just beginning to explore, this place is a must visit as you will be transported to a European pub.

Smokey Irishman
Nora A.

One of my favorite bars! It's such a cute place to hang out, whether you're sitting inside or relaxing on the back patio. The food is amazing, definitely not your typical bar food. My go-to is the turkey club, and it never disappoints. Drink selections are great too, and my personal favorite is the Smokey Irishman. The only downside is that you have to order at the bar, and on busy weekends the line can get pretty long, which makes it a little tough to reorder drinks. Other than that, the vibe is always good and the bartenders are great. Highly recommend this spot!

No. I brought my kid and they ate him. Awful sight. Wife is in therapy. We will never be the same. Good wings though!

Any lightweight drinks , my friend turned 21 and just curious which drinks are best?

All three were fantastic. But I preferred the cobbler and the toffee cake the most. We didn't get the Le Petit Gateau, their chocolate cake...but we decided to get one to go! HA...it's unbelievably rich and pretty tall and big. It's topped with candied wild cheries...it's two days later and we're still eating this yummy treat. All in all...I would recommend this for any occasion...wether you're looking for just a night out with solid service and great food, to a romantic evening. The atmosphere is incredibly romantic, the vibe is amazing, and the live band really adds to the experience. The service was top-notch as well. Roger was our waiter, and he was energetic, attentive, and thoughtful enough to send out a complimentary dessert with a candle to help us celebrate. The food was outstanding. We started with the kale sprouts and buns appetizer, then my wife ordered the mushroom risotto from their vegetarian menu, which was a really nice surprise since we hadn't seen it online and it gave her more options, and I had the NY steak. We also shared the corn elote on the side. Everything -- and I truly mean everything -- was delicious and incredibly satisfying. One thing I really appreciated was that dinner felt like an experience rather than a rushed meal. The food came out a little slower than at most restaurants, but honestly, that made the night even better. It gave us time to enjoy the music, relax, talk, and savor each course as it came out. Sometimes with upscale restaurants, you worry you'll pay a lot and still leave hungry. That was definitely not the case here. Verse exceeded our expectations, and we'll absolutely be back! The place settings, the decor, dimmed lights, and the seats are all quite appealing and quaint. The two standouts from our meal: the Yellowtail Crudo (with a provocative pink sauce) and the Pork Belly Risotto (immaculate - every single bite hit perfectly). The outside is subtle - you may miss Verse if you're not looking for it. There is some seating outside on the sidewalk where you can order drinks before you're seated. It takes place mostly in their rear patio area and parking lot, but a good number of vendors were also in an adjacent air conditioned event room. They have a very small parking lot, but it was occupied by vendors during this event. Do not park in the parking lots of the adjacent businesses, as we were warned when entering the Tonga Hut that cars get towed regularly. There's plenty of street parking in the nearby neighborhood. Entering from the rear, there is a good sized covered patio with around eight benches. We went inside to check it out and grab a drink. The interior is fairly small with four good sized booths, a lounge area with a large J-shaped couch with several small tables, and around ten seats at the bar. It is dimly lit with some basic tiki décor, and has an old-school feel. They had a fixed cocktail menu for this event which is understandable. We stood in line at the bar for about ten minutes, got our drinks and went out to the patio. The bartender was friendly, and didn't seem flustered by the high volume of patrons. I had the Horned Beast O' The Celtic Sea (Oceanus Hibernicus Irish Malt, Jamacian Rum, House Made Falernum & Orgeat, Peach, Citrus, Dash of Cherry Heering, $13). She had the Leprechaun Grog (Three Rums, Lime, Grapefruit, Honey, Spice, Soda, $14). Both drinks were good, were served in souvenir plastic cups, and were a bargain at $13 to $14. If you ordered a drink containing Oceanus whiskey, the bartender gave you a gold coin and you could exchange it with the Oceanus representative on the patio for a free T-shirt. Durango Tacos was setup near the rear entrance for food. We had four tacos (two carne asada and two veggie), and they were good and reasonably priced. This was the first tiki marketplace we have attended. There were around twenty vendors with a good assortment of art work, tiki mugs, tiki clothing, tiki décor, and other miscellaneous items. I purchased a few nice tiki shirts which were a steal at $20 and $25. The vendors and visitors were all very friendly and in a festive mood. We hung out for about ninety minutes and had a good time. We will return at some point to try their regular cocktail menu and see what it's like on a non-event night.

And we had to call her back over to ask for a second time. SMH. The food although flavorful was so ridiculously priced it was not even funny. I got a "ribeye ". Was literally eight thin slices of steak, like 1" x 1" size for $42! No, I will not be coming back here for so many reasons. The view is great. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. It was quite a frustrating evening. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here. It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos. I will say that the view up here is great though so if you're willing to forgo all of that for a view for like a one time date or something like that, it might be worth it
