I decided to give BBQ 152 in Gilroy a second chance, hoping this visit would be different. Unfortunately, it wasn't. I tried calling multiple times to place a to-go order, but no one answered the phone. According to Yelp, they were open, so since I happened to already be nearby, I figured I'd drive over in person rather than keep calling. When I arrived, the place didn't look busy at all, which made the situation even more frustrating. With hardly any customers around, there really wasn't a good reason for the phone to go unanswered. It gives the impression that whoever is working there either doesn't care or isn't being managed properly. I was ready to order a few tri-tip sandwiches and a full slab of ribs, so this wasn't a small order. Instead of welcoming business, they completely dropped the ball. After standing around and realizing I was basically being ignored before even ordering, I decided to leave. Customer service matters, especially for a local restaurant. When someone is making an effort to give you another chance and spend their money with you, the least you can do is answer the phone or acknowledge customers. Sadly, they lost my business again, and I ended up eating somewhere else instead. Very disappointing experience, and unfortunately I won't be returning. read more

I had came in the other day and ordered the family pack number 5, this was my first time ordering here I was recommended this place by a friend of mine. I called ahead and Nataly the worker helped me with my order she said since I'm feeding 5 people one of the family packs would work out best. It came with a full rack of ribs, tritip, chicken, garlic bread and 3 sides. She helped me with the sides being beans, potato salad, and Mac and cheese since she said those were the most popular ones people order. When I got there she even helped me pay and handed me my food, the place was very welcoming I loved how they had decorations for fall which I found cute for pictures. When I got home eveyone loved the food the ribs were very delicious and had a good amount on meat on them and everyone loved the Mac and cheese the pack even came with a. Stopped by to get my usual breakfast tacos, I always like to get one of each pulled pork, tri tip and brisket. I always try to spread the word about this place their tacos are really amazing and their sandwiches for beakfast they're too good that I always want to continue getting more. Everytime I go there the same cashier is there every weekend Nataly. She's very nice she always has a big smile, asking me about my morning and how I am she's the sweetest cashier I've ever met. Came here today afternoon, I got the 2 meat combo which was to die for, definitely will be coming back again. The cashier in the front Yully was her name helped me pick out the meat she said her favorite was the burnt ends and her suggestion did not disappoint, They were sweet and savory same for the brisket it was really tender and juicy. She brought out my food in less than minutes, the place itself is really spacious and comfortable. Coming back from Monterey, we google for bbq meats and this place pop up, we stop by and oh yeah, this is the place to enjoy a delicious trip tip and brisket, love the veggies pickles they give you with your meal, also the mac and cheese was my favorite, combine this with my try tip and garlic bread, but what I love the most, was the attention received by the crew, they all friendly and attentive, the owner came to check on us and we had a nice conversation, I was not disappointed with this place highly recommended. we see soon read more

I just got back from lunch at this restaurant like I do every Saturday, had the two meat plate, brisket and hot link. It was really well prepared, the quality of the sausage was excellent, properly spiced and great texture. The brisket was tender and flavorful and you could see the smoke ring, a sign of great quality. This is by far the best BBQ joint in Gilroy. Before they had Brisket my go to was always the Tritip, ribs and pulled pork! The hogwash with the pulled pork is simply amazing! I went in not knowing what I wanted to order and he was able to give such a detail description of each item that they have. He was very patient and I ended up getting a Tri tip sandwich.
