So my first time to a Korean BBQ. While I have enjoyed many different kinds of Korean foods it didn't prepare me for the veritable extravaganza that I experienced. First and maybe foremost was the incredible customer service that I experienced at a just opened establishment. From greeting to seating to ordering to serving it was a blissful experience. Kudos to the training and each member of the staff that helped us. I was in awe at the knowledge and passion that we encountered. The staff was very careful to encourage us to ask questions but were careful to direct us in asking questions we didn't know to ask. Now to the food. Each and every side was fresh and made in house. My favorite of course was the kimchi - Crunchy fresh spicy goodness with a never ending supply it was glorious. The fresh salad was my wife's favorite. The grill: the staff was careful to e plain each step of the way to us and explained all of the tools. We had shrimp, beef bulgogi, herbed chicken and spicy pork bulgogi. Trust me this is all you can eat and they keep asking. While we had spicy dishes nothing was over the top spicy. The dipping sauces added a great flavor to the meats as well. Fantastic date night spot as well as being a big hit with my 9 year old who gets in on the cooking fun with us as well. I could eat about a gallon of the corn salad. The spicy radish soup is amazing. The calamari steak is out of this world good. Definitely recommend! Be sure to book a few days in advance to make sure you can get in, but even if they say they are booked can still call to see if anything has opened up for last minute accommodations. If you haven't been you are missing out. My one and only complaint would be that there should be a few more sauces offered but that's just me being picky as I like a sweeter marinade. The waiters were very polite but they speak at 100 miles an hour as their prime objective was to regurgitate a script with no consideration for guests to understand what the heck they were saying. Oh how I wish this place had a second location in St. Louis! Great price for the quality of meats and variety. What I liked best is they had a vegetable platter seasoned perfectly for grilling. Our place in St. Louis does not offer that. We even got smaller meat portions by request so we could try more variety. The banchan was limited, but I didn't mind. I loved the marinated salad and pickled radish disks, again both things not offered to us locally. Moving from Stl which is a bigger city this is THE BEST restaurant to come to Springfield! Good quality in their meat selection along with veggie options. Went here to celebrate with family and it was great. Our waitress was super friendly and checked on us often, we always had enough meat, side dishes and veggies. I see a lot of negative comments about not getting enough meat but we really didn't have that problem but then again I made sure we went before rush time so we wouldn't have any issues. I always empty a tray immediately and start cooking so the trays can be refilled quickly. If you are new here, I recommend beef bulgogi, pork belly and a veggie tray to start. Ask for lettuce wraps, garlic and ssamjang sauce (they go great with pork belly. I also recommend the soondubu jjigae (soft tofu stew) and japchae noodles (but those two are extra), they can be taken home if you don't finish. All in all, really good food and the meat is fresh. Be smart and book ahead of time and don't go during a rush. Don't order more meat than you can eat (they do charge for wasted meat) so know what you are capable of eating or bring your human garbage disposal friend along to clean up anything left. Great for people who don't normally like korean food as you can cook everything to your own taste. Only downside is if you make a lot of bulgogi the sauce will cake onto the grill and start to smoke after an hour or so. Would suggest letting tables have scrapers or just switch out the metal plates after an hour so this doesn't happen. We were done eating by the time it started for us but I can see it being a problem for bigger groups who stay longer. read more

I had a great meal with my colleagues. We sat at a table that seats up to 12 people with 3 grills. Service was quick and very accommodating. The meat options were good, I particularly liked the brisket. Sides were also good, my fave is the pancake which is better on the grill to crisp it up. My favorite restaurant in Springfield mo hands down. Spicy pork bulgogi and galbi are our favorites, we leave with the meat sweats by the time we are done lol. Pro tip, first time we had the calamari, we were not crazy about it, it didn't have a ton of flavor we thought. Second time we ordered it, we put some of the sesame oil they provide you with on it while it cooked, now we love it!! I understand that there are not many Korean bbqs in this area, so I can see why it has great ratings. Just from my opinion all the meat was lacking flavor. Also, i felt like the quality was not there. We had to ask for a grill change, which seems like something they don't do there often for their customers. This was the fist place that ai have tried that had very little sides. The side of Korean pancakes were probably the best thing there. Stopped in during a trip to Branson and this place is amazing. My fiancé and I have eaten at a lot of Korean bbq places from all different places like Vegas, New York, California etc. and this place really is up there with some of the best in those states. The brisket is amazing, and the shrimp were huge! As long as you cook it well, this place had the best shrimp we've experienced when it comes to Korean bbq. For $25 a person for all you can eat including a dessert at the end, I would highly recommend this place. One suggestion I could make to the business however is that you gotta give oil or butter to put on the grill to get it started before you put beef on the grill, otherwise you're just putting on meat in a dry grill and that's not the greatest to start off with since the grill starts so hot. And I know it's a lot of work, but do away with the napkins/water method and go with changing the grills out, the napkin thing just is weird and leaves tissue left over on the grill if you don't do it right. Not only do they have unique, authentic foods but you actually get to try your hand at cooking (and maybe impress your date and/or friends with how perfectly you can cook those shrimp or short ribs!). There are many fun sides that are included in the all-you-can-eat (for 2 hours max). The price when we went was about $25 per person (not including a tip) and each TABLE gets to choose 2 meats at a time (once you start cooking, you can order more). There's a great variety of meats to choose from, and they are all seasoned/marinated well. It's a great experience, definitely worth the money in my opinion! read more

Great concept; terrible execution. Cross contamination is a big issue in any food service process. This place breaks all the rules. A table full of Patrons are not given any knives; one pair of scissors to cut seafood, chicken, and beef; with no way to wash or cleanse it in-between courses or raw food / cooked food. To actually handle the raw food and place it on the grill; one utensil, a single pair of tongs are used; same tongs again used for handling & serving the cooked food. Again, with no way of cleaning the tongs when going from raw to cooked service. The patrons prep and cook all their own meat & seafood; the first things that hit me were: 1. No way for the "patron-cook" to wash their hands before beginning the cooking process. Not even an anti-bacterial wipe or hand-sanitizer. 2. After peeling raw shrimp by hand, and putting it on the grill; again, no way to clean up except a paper towel / napkin. 3. Our second course was a beef bulgogi, which left a lot of burnt-on debris on the cooking surface. Instead of replacing the cooking surface with a clean one; the table server simply spread the muck around with our cooking tongs and a dry paper towel. It would have been better to do nothing; now it was all balled-up with small pieces of paper in it smoldering, and the tongs were nasty. And now we had to cook our chicken in this mess, which obviously came out black and tasting of the beef. 4. They do not use traditional china for plates; it's a small, shallow, stainless steel plate/bowl; that again, you have no way of cleaning it between courses. It would make a lot of sense for them to just give you a stack of spare, clean dishes; but this is not done. 5. No spoons or other utensils are given. Only 1 fork and/or chop sticks per person. This leads to everyone at the table using the fork from their mouth to handle and serve the small shared dishes of side-items, like radish, kimchi, etc. Our family likened it to "camping". You sit around the stove and everyone participates in the cooking / sharing process which isn't very sanitary when camping either; but it's expected in camping; not in a restaurant. Fortunately, for a small family, sharing forks, bites, etc. is no big deal. But I would never go to this place with a large group or with casual friends. No telling what you'd catch; and that's aside from the cross-contamination of food. read more
