This place is very much Americanized Korean food. I have had Korean BBQ many places in the country and this place isn't very authentic. It's also quite expensive but it's all you can eat so I guess that balances things out. The best part of the meal was actually one of the sides which was a vegetable pancake if that tells you how unspectacular the meal was. We tried a number of things such as beef bulgogi and spicy pork and also the tofu. None had the flavor I am accustomed to getting with authentic Korean BBQ. Some of the sides were Americanized also and the salad wasn't very fresh. I would give it a 2/5 except the staff there was amazing. They were very kind and attentive and were very happy to explain things. I won't be back to this place. I can't justify the price compared with the food quality. read more

My wife, daughter and I went to Bawi on Saturday night - what a huge disappointment!!!!! Both my daughter and I have been to Korea and enjoy the food and customs. Bawi food that we had was delicious and lots to eat - clearly a five star and I wish I could give it a five but the service was some of the worst I have experienced in years. Our waitress was terrible. Here are some of the things - we were never offered the appetizers or soup - didn't know it was an option until we looked on online to see if they had dessert. While the restaurant was packed and people waiting for tables she could be gone for 15 or 20 minutes. Even after hitting the buzzer on the table she would not show up. We ordered things which we never got - like chopsticks or had to order things multiple times in order to get it - simply the worst service ever. Details from the receipts - Server - Linda C - but I am sure that was not her name. We were seated at table C3 - Saturday 1/8/2022 at 6:12pm - will try to do the survey but no url on the receipt. This was so fun! And delicious. Can't wait to go back. Although I'm pretty familiar with Korean cuisine this was my first experience at a Korean BBQ. Bawi lived up to everything I was hoping for. Each table is equipped with a grill and side dishes-- but don't fill up on the sides the main even is of course the meat. Every meat I sampled was deliciously marinated. My husband and I tried this place for lunch one afternoon when we were out running errands and we had the chef's prepared option. Liked it really well and decided to bring my daughter and try the "full Korean BBQ experience". We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and is all you can eat in two hours, which is way more time than we needed to get our fill. We we fortunate be assigned Manon and Goon Sup both clearly understand exceptional customer service and hospitality. This is an all you can eat concept (within two hours) where you BBQ your beef, chicken, pork,seafood and Tofu at your table.The quality of all the meats and seafood were outstanding!!!!!!!!! Wow! My first time and was incredibly impressed. They have a wide variety of proteins that you can select to grill at your table. Since it is all you can eat, you can taste a lot of different options. My group's favorites were the beef and chicken bulgogi, the shrimp, and the beef brisket. We had a blast cooking the meat and eating it got off the grill. The sauces and sides were tasty. Loved the kimchee and pancakes (not sure their Korean name). The server was incredibly helpful, suggesting the best order to cook things and how to match the dipping sauces with the meats. This a great place for a family (we brought our three teenagers) or good friends. It is definitely a pace where you can hang out and talk. My husband, daughter and I were visiting from out of town and were wanting to celebrate her recent promotion at work. We were excited to find this place (I'm Korean) and hurried to make a reservation online. Their reservation system was hectic, the staff was slow and there were many empty tables with many waiting to be seated. Finally was seated and when the food came out, I was surprised I had to ask for all the items like lettuce, gochujang sauce, garlic, jalapeños etc. They brought us cold rice (which they apologized for and we accepted because we were so hungry) and all the meats were bland except for the bulgogi which was excellent. I was disappointed because normally korean bbqs have great sides and lettuce wrap options. Oh, and the dessert, half a choco-pie and ice cream at the end could have been different (& better)for the premium price of $25.98. Honestly, just spend the money and go to a korean restaurant for that price..that way you can take home all your leftovers! read more

This is a very neat idea and fun experience if done right. Went on a date there tonight and was very displeased though. Our server was mostly at fault I'm sure. He did a few things that I didn't like but was willing to look past. Then at the end he just blew it out of the water with some serious ignorance.These servers should be trained in cross contamination. I fear for the safety of the patrons. Had I not been paying attention my wife could've consumed meat that was cross contaminated only due to the servers negligence and being rude. We had all of our meat cooked and in the warmer. My wife however likes her meat crispy. Therefore had taken a piece of chicken off and put it back on the grill. We let the server know we didn't want more meat so he decided to pick up the tongs that I only used on raw meat used them to pick up my wife's cooking piece of chicken and threw it onto out pile of cooked meat. Then turned the grill off even after I explained to him what she was doing. My wife not realizing almost started to eat that and was very unhappy that she couldn't eat the shrimp she had spent time taking out of the shell because he threw the chicken on it. This place I is a great substitution to the ever popular hibachi here in Springfield if you have kids that love the show. The food is fresh and much healthier than hibachi. The spicy bulgolgi is excellent and the galbi tastes every bit as good as I'm used to. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My husband and I ate here last weekend while we were in Springfield . They weren't super busy but there were 2 large groups also waiting to be sat. After we are seated we were sitting there for about 15 minutes before our server acknowledged us and took our drink menu. We waited forever just for 2 waters. We both ordered the premium option which is about $30 per person, and ordered our 4 meats. Once we received those our server checked on us once the entire time. She came back maybe 20 minutes later for our next order of options. We were waiting SO LONG before she came with our next order that we just wanted to leave. It took her 30 minutes and we notified someone else that we were waiting so long for 2 items! She finally came back and was so rude we said forget it we already asked the host for our check. After explaining the situation all they did was charge us the general price. Still $24 per person. So we essentially paid $48 for 4 items and 2 waters. I have already reached out to management like suggested with no response as well. Horrible place with horrible customer service do not recommend. I cannot believe I spent so much money to sit around for an hour at this place. read more
