The food was fine but not as many basic options as I'm used to for the cheapest menu (I'm from a bigger city). I was surprised that there were only a couple sauces to choose from and not many sides. Korean BBQ just isn't really my thing, it's just too sweet for my tastes for the most part. The sirloin was okay, and the Mandu (sort of like pot stickers) weren't bad. The rest of it just wasn't really up my alley. I get it's more of an experience than just a meal, but frankly I prefer to have somebody cook my food for me if I'm going out. Also eating within inches of a smoking grill at eye level and knowing there is a gas line running directly under the table just didn't do it for me. They don't give you a knife but do provide you with some handy 'meat scissors' to cut your steak with. Some people probably really dig this type of experience but it just wasn't for me. read more

My first time here and my first real meal where I could sit relax and enjoy the meal. Sienna greeted me at the door and was also our server. Service from her made the food excellent! When you have good food and great service. The experience will always exceed expectations. And that's how I felt. She was quick to serve and check on us too. She was also all smiles. Had no clue this was an "all you can eat" place. We didn't have reservations, but they got us in decently quick for a weekend night. We just chose the cheaper menu. The more expensive one has only a few more options such as calamari, and crab rangoon. They give you two hours to eat all you want, but it literally took them almost an hour to get us all sat up, and bring out our first order of meat. It seems lots of people come here in large groups, and that seems like this would be the idea way to come here. It's more "entertainment" than it is a great meal. It's not like the food was bad, but it wasn't anything special. The experience of just cooking your food in front of you was what this was clearly all about. This place is close to being amazing. For a little context, my friends and I are not from this area and we traveled from a place where there are over a dozen of KBBQ restaurants in a 30 mile radius. I know in towns where there are not as many Korean options, expectations should waned. Despite that i felt this place was lacking some crucial items. I appreciate they have a $23.00 option for basic KBBQ, but jumping up to a $30.00 option for adding a few more items seems a bit steep. The spicy tofu soup and other soups are considered extra charge which is not normal from many other KBBQ places I frequent. The meat selection is quite lacking as it's missing many crucial items such as beef short plate (beef belly), thinly sliced rib eye, thinly sliced pork belly, etc. that other KBBQ restaurants offer. I enjoyed the brisket and the thick pork belly myself. I appreciated how the service was efficient and it was similar in essence to other KBBQ restaurants I have been to. This place was good, but there were some flaws that stood out to me during this dinner that were too obvious to be overlooked. First off, we were told that it would take about 10-15 minutes to be seated. However, it took about 30 minutes to be seated. Another thing I noticed was how unusually slow the service was, it took about 10 minutes to just get our drinks, and about 15-20 minutes to get each meats. Afterwards we were looking for some "clean" food, and I found this Korean BBQ on Yelp. 10 of us came and all 10 left full and happy! If you haven't been to a Korean BBQ place before, you basically pick different meats that you cook yourself on a small grill in the middle of the table. I walked in and I didn't see any hostess. I made eye contact with a few staff members and they would smile and acknowledge me with a hi while I was standing there but no one asked if I needed help. After about 5 minutes or so, the hostess came and asked if I had reservations. I replied no and I asked if I needed to. Her reply was its recommended but she can put me in a table. The place has many empty tables but I think it's because of the short staff. Since it's just myself, I got the standard instead of premium selection. I get to choose four proteins and after that two afterwards and so on. I started out with beef brisket, pork chops and spicy chicken for the first round and then got the herb chicken and beef bulgogi. For my sides, I got the vegetables pancakes, kimchi, picked radish and pickled radish wrap, garlic and jalapenos. The reason for three stars is that my waiter messed up the protein I ordered. I ordered the pork chop but got a pork jowl, I ordered the spicy chicken and both times I got the herb chicken. I didn't complain or anything because it's not a big deal. The rice came out lukewarm. I recently moved to Springfield from Los Angeles. I've been to a lot of Korean BBQ places and to be quite honest this is one of the worst ones I've tried. But since it's the only one in the city, I'm just really thankful it's here. First off the quality of the meat isn't up to par with what I'm used to. The brisket comes frozen, looks like the same meat they use at Mongolian places, the pork belly is more like uncured bacon and the Bulgogi is a little too sweet. The sides are good, but the choices are limited. My biggest complaint though would be that vegetables count as choice of meat. They only give you two meats at a time. Every other place I've been to has been 3 at a time, so to have the veggies count as one of the meats is rather annoying. I've never experienced such high quality Korean bbq at such a value price. We went for the standard menu which is differentiated from the premium menu by a significantly lower price, and you can't get galbi, deungshim steak, calamari, shrimp, and a couple of other items that I can't remember right now. We were seated promptly, instructed sufficiently by the staff, and got started! Food: we went for the thinly sliced brisket (chadolbegi) and pork belly (samgyubsal). We were given 3 sauces for these meats, which are not marinated in any sauce. There was a sweet chili sauce, a sweet soy sauce based sauce, and the traditional salt in sesame oil sauce. Being all you can eat, we just ate to our heart's content. We asked for rice, lettuce, jalapeños, garlic, and the traditional fermented bean paste for dipping to make lettuce wraps because they weren't already on the table. What was already on the table was radish wraps, salad (yummy), kimchi, vegetable pancakes (pajeon), a corn side dish, and a soy marinated radish. Everything was refillable if we ran out. All for the incredible price of 16.98/each. Oh, and did I mention they have Japanese beers on draft?? My Sapporo's were ice cold and the perfect compliment to my meal. Service: super attentive, we never ran out of food to either be eating on or cooking, and genuinely helpful in every way. Fantastic place! What a great idea. Food was outstanding. And it needs to be because it is not cheap! Yet, if you prepare properly, it can be worth it if you are a volume eater! If you are not, it is still a very taste meal. Once the rules were explained to us: two hours from the time your food arrived, you get four initial meats, and two at a time after that. Since this is a new spot and the first K-BBQ restaurant in Springfield, I'd give 4 stars. It has so much potential and lots of room for improvement. Coming from California and someone whose lived in Koreatown with lots of K-BBQ place 24/7, I'd say this place will boom with some improvements. PLACE 4/5 The location was kind of hidden but not too bad, there was ample parking. Good ambiance... the spot is still new. They got the korean bbq vibe inside. They got you K-Pop music playing. The tables have really nice space. THE STAFF 5/5 The staff were very friendly and nice. Our server was Becca and I loved and enjoyed our experience because of her. The other servers were also nice, they explained the whole shebang to everybody new to kbbq and no clue with what they are doing. I think I heard them explained it maybe 5 times to people surrounding our table so that was good for them. REPLACEMENT GRILL: Wish they have more grills so they can switch them out more often and not have to clean it yourself with a napkin and the plastic thongs.. it was really hard to scrape off the grease and other residue sticking on the grill. Also they don't have an exhaust fan on top of the grills, it gets really hot and sweaty if you are cooking more meat with more people. FOOD 4/5 The side dishes were nice. I think they can make it better by switching out some things. Replace it with some fish balls or squid balls and glass noodles or bean sprouts.. Kimchi was good! It was nice that it came with rice as a side.. wish they had rice paper or lettuce to wrap the meats. The meats are fresh and of good quality. PERFECT. I enjoyed every batch they served us. I think the price was a little too high considering they only have at least 5 different options per meat. 5 options for beef, 5 for pork, some chicken and some seafood. I think they can eliminate the steak calamari, our group weren't fans of it. Just stick with just shrimp and maybe regular squid cut vertically. In Los Angeles for the price of $25.99 there's 50 options of different kinds of meat, marinated, plain and also soup options. $15.99 tier would get you 20 options and some sides and soup available a la carte. I hope they also have this option, maybe in the future. The drinks were perfect!!! I love all the soju flavors they have.
