I was sad to see the Springfield location close so we swung over to Nixa to check out this location. It was just as good as the other. Always a solid place for some delicious BBQ. I love how flexible they are with how you order. I got 3 ribs, a side of their absolutely amazing corn and it was happy hour so I got 5 wings for $5. This was EXACTLY what I needed. I didn't need a whole meal or meat by the pound, just little side things to try multiple items. The ribs fell off the bone and has their delicious BBQ sauce drizzled all over them. So tender. The corn is always amazing. I can't get enough of it. And the wings were saucy and delicious and the perfect heat. Love the atmosphere of this place. I was unaware that Gettin Basted was related to The Downing Street Pour House which I gave such a good review to about a week ago, but I should have been clued into the fact by the similarly huge pretzel we had which comes hanging on a banana hook. The whole group of us had different things. My wife and a friend split the Burnt Ends which she really liked, as well as their pork rinds and the Mac n cheese. One friend had the Molly and I had the Moo. These are Wagyu burgers which I have never heard of, but I guess they are some sort of top secrete strain of genetically enhanced cows grilled to perfection and then topped with your choice of bbq meat to give you super powers. At least that was my takeaway from the meal, and they don't lie because I had the superpower to eat just way more than humanly possible. Just call me by my superhero nick name from now on; Oink Man. Really good food, good friends and a clean restaurant. Throw in social distancing and face masks and it would have been the perfect evening but unfortunately in Nixa masks aren't required and sadly nobody felt the need to wear them. read more

You know I have to say, for a chain this place is extremely impressive. I had their "moink" and a side of this "pablano corn brûlée"...or something like that, the name stood out so much I had to try it. Came here with family, we all got something different and couldn't find one thing to complain about. The corn was delicious, one of the best sides I've had in a long time. We love this restaurant! The Austin is by far the best sandwich! The Brulé poblano cream corn is wonderful. Service is always good too. When we have company from out of state we always make sure we get a meal at Gettin Basted. It's a family friendly restaurant as well so bring the kids and enjoy no cookin for a night. read more

Not good BBQ.... My husband and I had tried the Springfield location when it first opened and weren't impressed. We thought we'd give the Nixa location a try seeing it had good reviews but we were extremely disappointed. Nothing came out warm. He got the brisket and it was probably some of the driest brisket we've ever been served. Also got the side of sweet potato casserole and it was just cold hard chunks of sweet potato that hadn't been mashed. We went on a Monday so I don't know if they serve weekend leftovers, but it definitely felt that way. read more

My wife had the brisket with sides of onion strings and okra, all were delicious. I had pulled pork with baked beans and coleslaw. Very good. We decided to have a couple yuengling beers that were tasty but I have to say it's the first time two yuengling beers cost $12. We stopped by for lunch the service was good as expected, the food was certainly very good barbecue, the price including tip was $64. Too much for lunch. We have been tasting barbecue for a big family dinner and this is the winner. We had ribs, sausage, brisket, pulled pork and burnt ends. Sides were baked beans, slaw, and poblano corn brulee. This is an honest review and meant to provide an account of our experience. The negative perspective is only meant to help build and be constructive . Restaurants are a tough business and new locations are never easy. So we hope only the best for Gettin Basted and staff. We were visiting Nixa and drove past Gettin Basted. So we turned around to give it a try. I went in first to make sure they had dine in service available given that many places were only doing take out because of covid. I was welcomed by a wonderful smile and genuine thank you for coming in. I got the family out of the car and we all made our way in to be seated. The waitress who's name I can't remember was super awesome and friendly. I will find out and add her name back in. I ordered the judges platter. Chicken, brisket, sausage, pulled pork, and ribs. The ribs and pulled pork were good . Chicken tasted.... well like chicken but with some bbq sauce on it. Sausage wasn't so memorable. And lastly the brisket. I hoping for something epic. This was a depressed piece of meat with no life. No flavor no hope of being anything but sad. Wife had a turkey salad, turkey was amazing Kid 1. Had wings better than most places I have had wings Kid 2 grilled cheese standard Kid 3. Had ribs again really good I would go back and definitely try different options the place was clean, staff was friendly and prompt. Kitchen----- I think you can do better.
