Great meal, and super service for this nice restaurant that I haven't been to in more than 20 years before my recent visit. Our server was super, very attentive and always checking to make sure everything was ok and if we needed anything. Shortly after ordering she brought these massive warm rolls with butter. It was a great start! I ordered the pork chops with corn fritters and vegetables. The pork chops, although very thin, were delicious, the corn fritters brought me back to the past and veggies were good. My friend ordered the roasted turkey breast with mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy and corn fritters. Her portion was so huge, it was multiple and meals. The New York strip steak was a little bland for my taste. The onion rings were good. One could choose from their different pies with option of serving it with ice cream. It appears the cheese on my chili cheese fries appetizer was velveeta cheese, but oh well. Tasted decent. They put a good amount of ground beef and bacon on my fries, as well. One of our friends ordered their fried chicken, which came our tender and not overly battered. - Parking. There's a decent size parking lot, which is helpful, because this spot appears popular with the locals. - Shop. The restaurant is right next door to the market, which is extremely helpful in that you can get some food shopping done while you're there. What's not - Quality. As previously mentioned, not bad, but not great. This place appears to cater towards the locals and random tourists/passersby. It's nothing to write home about, but it's dependable. This review is for Baugher's fruit and vegetable stand outside the restaurant. In short, produce is overpriced and their fruit is particularly bad. Peaches, melons, and apples are often harvested before they ripen and frozen before sale. This results in mealy, tasteless peaches and melons and apples that have a hint of mustiness. Be particularly wary of their strawberries. The over-ripe berries are sent from the orchard to the farm stand where they are sold just before they become inedible. Most locals avoid this place for these and other reasons, including the surly sales ladies. Avoid this place at all costs. There are much better and fresher fruit options available at the numerous Amish stands that have opened outside of Taneytown. read more

I ordered a Chef salad it was the worst I've ever had the sliced tomatoes had weird black seeds so I managed to push them aside, cucumbers, and horrible iceberg lettuce. Ordered onion rings they were like the ones you find in any frozen food section of a grocery store. Friend had Corned beef sandwich and fries ...it had old gray meat and nothing else on it and was tough. Iced tea they brought out was weak and cloudy, I think it was instant, I refused to drink it and sent it back. The place is depressing with dated furnishings and doesn't appear clean. Down to earth meals I had to ready chicken livers and they were done perfectly. Good portion as well. Was certainly enough food but then we saw a banana split go by. Good local food in Westminster. We stopped in on our way back from a camping trip on a Sunday afternoon. They were a little busy when we arrived, so we were told that it would be ~30 mins wait. No big deal, only when 30 mins passed, we followed back up and were told it would be another 10-15 mins. We were finally seated after 45 minutes total. I understand there is a lot of nostalgia for this place, but I think the interior could use some updating, gave off a very "Nursing Home" vibe. Food was good, blue-chip to be sure. Good basic country cooking, but nothing to go out of your way for IMHO. They made up for this with dessert though, egg custard pie and coconut cake were on point. Even the toasted English muffin was better than most. Nice and crispy without being burnt. My coffee was good. The service was great and very attentive. I have been going to Baugher's for 50 years and have fond memories eating there with family. On our most recent visit, the staff was friendly and our orders were taken quickly. There were not many customers, yet our order for sandwiches took about 45 minutes to come to the table. The food was good. Our evening was highlighted by a mouse that feared no one and kept running under the tables snatching food. We notified our waitress quietly, but there was no response. We could see the staff watching us react to the mouse each time it came out of its hole near us. As we checked out, I told the manager that if they expected repeat business, they need to deal with the rodent problem. He laughed it off and pointed to a piece of paper saying he would let the GM know. We paid in full. There was no real apology and this certainly was not treated with any seriousness. read more

We grew up with Baugher's and recently returned during a vacation. It's as good as ever. The cheeseburger sub has been modernized with a zippy sauce. It's still a go to if you are famished. Then after all the reviews on making sure to get pie, I ordered the coconut cream and it was the best I've ever had. I can't remember our waitresses name although I believe it was Jenna. Today my pancakes were gummy, the crispy bacon black and salty and the home fries tasted of old fryer oil and anything but crisp. I used to come here as a kid with my family. Nostalgia ! I see they haven't made any updates since I was a kid over twenty years ago. Definitely not a place to take a date. No ambiance and you have to take your bill to the front to pay. That is an ordeal because there's no one there usually and 15 other customers are all crowded around with you waiting to pay. Not good for covid! Food is average. I got the fried chicken which was juicy and hot but the skin was too heavy and tastes like air lol no flavor. I asked for hot sauce and they gave me some weird thing that wasn't actually hot sauce. Sting beans taste canned. They nuke their store bought bread in the microwave and it's chewy. They don't have hot cider in the summer so don't try and order that nor the oysters! But I remember this place fondly as well as picking apples at their orchard as a kid!!!! read more
