I loooove this place! First off the best thing they do is clean out the charger port of your phone for free so it can hold a charger cable well after it gets fuzz and dirt build up after a while! THAT in and of itself makes me love them cause an iPhone repair charges for that. But I've also been replacing the battery in my manual Fossil wristwatch for 16 years and I only paid around $20 once for a lifetime replacement membership for the life of this watch. They are also always very friendly and have other obscure batteries and lightbulbs when you need them. read more

Call ahead because they don't replace all watch batteries. That's my first observation. The staff is friendly and they have plenty of other battery related items including key fob batteries and even replacement key fobs. I'll definitely return with I need something they can handle. read more

I had my phone battery change their recently. I found the new battery didn't perform as well as the one that it replaced and I monitored the phone to confirm over several weeks., I took the phone back and told them about this. They took the phone into the back. Someone else came out and rudely stated that they looked at the battery usage statistics, and it appeared normal. His tone was impolite, condescending and defensive from the start. He refused to do anything and kept speaking to the idea of blaming Apple for adding features that cause worse battery performance all the time. I work with Apple on high performance games, specifically optimizing apps for battery performance. As I've dealt with Apple for the games I worked on, I know that Apple very carefully optimizes their features for battery life. Of course they add features all the time - doesn't mean they do a shitty job of it. Nothing but excuses and zero accountability for the battery they installed. I now have a phone that isn't as good as it used to be. Don't get your phone battery changed here - they obviously don't care if you're not satisfied. read more

They were able to see me right away. There screen protectors are higher quality than Walmart. It took them less than five minutes to install a new screen protector. Everything related to batteries keys and other gidgets like flashlight they had in stock, and I felt like a kid surrounded by electric materials. It's always cool that they can make your keys there: read more

For the store on Brodie Lane: 5 stars. I brought in a 25 year-old toy (with 25 year-old batteries). The technician carefully removed the little door to the battery compartment, which is extremely small, and then carefully removed the batteries, which were nearly cemented in place. It took several minutes but he got the old batteries out, installed the new ones, and the toy now works like new. Thank you! read more

I realized I was near Batteries Plus on my way to an appointment and decided to pop in to get the batteries I had on my list. I let them know what I needed and was assisted in getting them. The associate was efficient and got me out in no time. I really appreciated it. This is the service I remember. read more

I needed a new battery for my car and didn't have my tools, the gents in this shop were so helpful, they installed the battery and even took time to answer my questions. Also, I noticed something very heartfelt, two separate elderly women pulled up for service, each time a store attendant met them at their car and help them in. It was moving and caring, I appreciate that type of service. These guys are top notch. read more

DO NOT! I REPEAT, DO NOT GRT ANYTHING REPAIRED AT BATTERIES PLUS. My friend took his iPad there to get fixed since he broke the screen and screen only. When he got it back, the screen had bubbles underneath the glass and the home button that was working perfectly was not inoperable. They argued with me that the button didn't feel like it did because the iPad wasn't turned on. I argued with them in the store with the manager until he shoved the iPad into me and stated he would give my friend a full refund and blacklisted both of us. IT GETS BETTER. KEEP READING. I took it to my friend that IS an authorized Apple Service Provider and when he went to fix the button found that Batteries Plus hack up an old guitar pick and shoved it under the home button to give it a spring. The screen still has some bubbles that needed to be fixed. The iPad over all, was picked up in worse condition than when it was dropped off to batteries plus. DONOT GO TO BATTERIES PLUS read more

Excellent place to get just about any size battery, including a replacement for my unusual import scooter size. It's a great battery, which I purchased from this same store, lasting a few years past warranty. The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Austin needs more experts like them to keep our vehicles charged. read more

My husband and I stopped in here for a motorcycle battery since he had been having issues with his bike. The clerk worked with us and explained the battery warranty process. Called and asked if they had an iPhone battery and if they would be able to replace it. They said yes. Drove across town, and the tech refused to service my phone saying my battery was fine and that I had too many apps open. Thought it was unusual they would decline my business and money, so I went on my way. Came home to research the matter, and see that closing apps on your phone not only doesn't help battery life, but can make it worse. This has been established by both Google and Apple, as well as independent tech journalists and benchmark engineers. It turns out I do in fact need a new battery. This place is probably fine for DIY repairs and batteries, but their technicians aren't reliable or knowledgeable when it comes to actual tech matters. May not even be good at sales considering they turned me away! read more

I'll make this short and to the point... We decided to take our IPhone screen to get fixed and to clean the port because we've had both services done before at this location. However, this time around when they Fixed the screen and "cleaned" the port; we noticed the phone wasn't charging when we got home. We took it back to ask if they can fix it- They just denied responsibility and were very rude and UNPROFESSIONAL (especially a lady named Bailey). So immediately right after we took it to "You Break & iFix" and after a PROPER CLEANING from them, the phone now charges like NEW! So I recommend going to "You Break & iFix" instead. read more

My family has been buying batteries and bulbs at the location @ 7915 Burnet Rd Austin, TX 78757 for three decades. But NO MORE. It's a given BPB's batteries are more expensive than anywhere else in town -- even routine batteries like AAA, C, etc. I tolerated that because I really liked this store for its customer service when it came to installing certain batteries, in this case, for my 87-year old Mom's watch! I went to the store, and in chit chat with the employees, did let them know I had been shopping at this location for 30-plus years. They didn't seem to care at all - no surprise there. (PS- I was the only customer in the store at the time so they were not busy) An employee replaced the battery, and proclaimed (like he was doing me some big favor) that the watch was working now. GREAT! That's the service I am paying for ! I never saw the watch ticking....I just dropped it off at my Mom's house and kept running errands. A few short minutes after drop off, she calls me to say her watch is NOT working. So, I bring it back to the store - with the receipt, tell the counter employee (no manager /owner there) this very simple story, ask for a refund, and he wants to go in to trench warfare with me on refunding me the entire amount ! WHY??? And, the employee who installed the battery in my Mom's watch and bragged about fixing it was standing 6 feet away from the other employee and did not speak up one word ! Why not simply say, "You know what, we made a mistake, we apologize for that, and we'll gladly refund your money as a longtime customer." Nope, that simple sentence did not occur to either one of these employees. I advised them I would writing about this on YELP, so this will be no surprise to either of them. KC read more

My go to for automobile remote battery replacement. They kindly do it for you ! What's not to love about good service!

Super friendly and they have batteries for everything - even the key fob that you need to drive your car! I had a hard time not buying a flashlight since there are about a thousand to choose from and they're really awesome (and you can try them too.) Service was excellent, I learned essential new information about how to start my car if the battery did run out. No line so I was in and out in about five minutes. read more

Store is OK for what it is, but I'm disappointed that none of the staff here wears -- or apparently even keeps handy -- masks. Social distancing policy seems to be missing too. Dear management and customer-facing employees: Even if you're vaccinated, when a customer walks in wearing a mask it's both sensible for yourself and respectful of the customer to put one on too ... you never know why someone is masked up but these days the wearer likely is particularly vulnerable, or has been exposed and is trying to protect you. (Sadly, that plexiglas shield between you is not virus-proof for covid, flu, or anything else you're likely to inhale from the shared air.) Stay well. Thank you. read more

My car battery died this morning and I had to come get a new battery for it. I ordered it online because you get a discount if you place the order for pick up in store. They have coupon codes everywhere. It was fairly priced with the discount and the mail in rebate that it was about the same price or just slightly more expensive to Sam's Club and Costco. I choose to buy my battery here because the particular battery I was getting had a battery warranty here. It was fairly simple to stop in and pick it up. The reason why I'm not giving it a 4 star is because there was an advertised mail-in rebate online but the guy didn't give me any information regarding the rebate. I realized I didn't get anything on my receipt after we had already driven away in rush hour and the rain. So I called back to ask about the rebate. Me: "Hello, I was just in there to pick up my battery and online it said there was a mail in rebate, but I didn't get any information regarding it." BPB Employee: "Yeah" Great thanks, uh I'd like to know how I get the rebate. "Oh, he didn't give you a card?" Nope. He told me I had to come back and get the mail in rebate card. I asked if there was any way to fill it out online and not have to return. Nope. You have to come back in. Well let's just say that it's 2017 and sure turns out that you can fill out the rebate online. Thanks guy. The rebate deal was frustrating, but otherwise I hope it's a good battery. Also note, that they charge a $3 environmental fee (that is required by the state) but it doesn't charge you online, so they have to do an adjustment when you get there. If you check in on Yelp, you also get a free pack of AA batteries haha! read more

I had an appointment to get my phone screen repaired at 7:30 PM. I am not sure why they offer extended hours- as I handed my phone over, the support person seemed irritated and said "well I will see what I can do since I'm leaving in 28 minutes. I went back in 30 minutes later, and all he managed to do was make it so that my phone no longer turned on and said they were closed, and I should come back tomorrow. I wasted my evening and the opportunity to get my phone fixed tonight. Very frustrating experience. read more

Best place in Austin to have your girlfriend's battery replaced. (OK, now that I have your undivided attention...) Actually, I visited this Batteries Plus location yesterday in a desperate search for a replacement switch seal for my Mag Lite night stick--I mean flashlight. Sadly, they don't sell Mag Lite brand flashlights, so they didn't have the part I needed. It was worth a try. What they did have was great, friendly customer service. They could have just told me "have a nice day", but, instead, one of the employees took the time to look up and write down the name of GT Distributors, which sells parts for the brand of flashlights (Streamlight) they do carry. When I got home, I checked online, and GT Distributors has a showroom in Austin. Sure enough, their website indicates they should have exactly the Mag Lite part I need--for 95 cents. Too bad GT isn't open on the weekends. While I was waiting, another customer came in to retrieve a cordless power tool battery pack Batteries Plus had repaired for him by reattaching a loose wire--at no charge. That prompted me to ask if they could refurbish my Makita cordless power packs. They can--if they are not sonically welded; unfortunately mine are. However, they have a compatible Ray-O-Vac replacement battery pack that I later found to be competitively priced with online offerings, and much cheaper than at other retailers in town. I walked in empty-handed, and left the same way--with the exception I had gotten some great free advice that I can immediately leverage. Thanks, Batteries Plus! You're on my battery short list for keeps. (Oh, and they will replace your girlfriend's CAR battery, too, if she needs one.) read more

This place has always been helpful and every team member without exception has provided great service. It is directly related to this that our family choses to bring our business here when the ever growing list of Services are available here rather than a more common place otherwise. Terrible customer service. Will never go here again...for anything! My wife was treated so rudely in this place. She was told she would be charged for someone assisting here with opening the back of an old garage door opener. She wanted to buy a battery, but the sales guy would not help her to see what size battery she needed. All he said was, "it could be one of three sizes"! What a jerk! The charge was going to be $13.50! Whatever happened to good old fashioned customer service. I just cannot believe how poor this place is managed. I should have read the negative reviews more thoughtfully. Clearly the worst customer experience I have had in awhile. And all on a simple battery purchase. Checkin (by initials erv): "Name? Number?" Absolutely no customer service. No smile. Nothing. I may as well have been talking to a kiosk. Checkout (by the younger bearded guy): Different guy. Just as bad. "I'll need one more twenty." No "Thanks". No customer appreciation. Price: 33% higher than competitors. Coupon not accepted. Ugh. A bad decision on my part to go in there. I encourage other shoppers to heed my warning. read more

Listen Batteries Plus, you made me drive up and down Burnet because you didn't have the necessary tools to change out my car battery - though you said you did when I called ahead of time. I had to ghetto it up and drive to a car repair shop and ask them to unbolt my battery, then drive back for the battery (because you weren't sure it would fit) and then go full circle back to the car repair shop to get the one little bolt re-tightened. Then, you still wanted to charge me an install fee (but didn't after I asked) because you lifted the battery in and out from under my hood. Even more impressive: please go get your incompetent tool that you dropped (and obviously left) in my engine compartment off of Burnet. I heard it clinkity clanking through my car and saw it doing somersaults down the road, all in the fading distance, with a mind of its own .... ... gives a whole new meaning to ghetto fabulous. read more

Do you remember the classic Saturday Night Live sketch with Gilda Radner called "The Scotch Boutique?" Where she and Fred Willard ran a mall store that sold nothing but Scotch Tape? Well, this place is pretty much "The Battery Boutique." If you had told me this franchise was some kind of Richard Branson inside joke, I might have believed you. They sure do have a lot of batteries here. I needed an odd battery for my car key remote, my Walgreen's, HEB, and WalMart didn't have it, so I stopped by this Burnet BP store on a whim. $3.89 later, my remote was as good as new. The other two customers in the place appeared to be replacing watch batteries, which apparently is a good deal here too. Well, neato. On one hand, I want to give this place five-stars for having a bunch of different batteries in stock and its convenience, with five other BP stores around town; on the other hand, how many times will I come here for odd batteries? It's hard to beat the price of the usual suspects at a Walgreen's, especially on sale, and I know I'm probably not coming back here to replace my car or iPhone battery. So I'll just split the difference and call myself a fan of Batteries Plus. But that may change too, especially if my laptop battery ever fai read more

This has to be one of the most boring places to work. I was the only customer upon entering, and throughout my experience here. There were three guys behind the counter, one of whom took a stance behind the register to greet me. The other two were excitedly chit chatting about something or another. They quickly fled to the back room when I walked up. I approached the counter and the guy waiting, unenthused, to help me with my watch battery change (it actually has 2 batteries). I told him what I needed and he immediately went to work, saying nothing at all. I took the time to peruse the selection of batteries and battery accessories. Yup, they sure have a lot of batteries and battery accessories. The laptop batteries were difficult to decipher which type of computers they go with, I guess that's where the true customer service should kick in. It was about 3 minutes after the completion of my perusal that the guy finished my battery change. Nicely, he set the watch to the correct time before returning it to me. Here, our exchange became verbal. He explained that for one battery only, the price would've been $6.99, but because it was 2 batteries, he was charging for two. I expected no less, actually. Still pretty inexpensive, if I recall, less than having them changed at the store where the watch is from. I asked about battery life and he pointed out that it is dependent on the usage and even sun exposure. Something I'd never thought about before! I'll keep them in mind for my battery and battery accessory needs in the future. read more

I called Batteries Plus on 7915 Burnet Rd. on May 11 looking for an unusual battery I figured most places wouldn't have. I talked to Scott, who I later found out was the manager. I asked if he had a CB3-12 (12V, 3AH/R20) battery. He said they did. Different size batteries can have the same ratings, so I asked SPECIFICALLY if this one measured about 4 1/2" X 2 1/2" X 1 1/2'. He told me it did. After driving 18 miles from Manor, I got to the Burnet Rd. location. Scott had left for the day. An employee showed me the single 12V, 3AH/R20 battery they had in the store. It was about the size of a child's shoebox, not even close to what I had asked for. I asked if they had another battery that could have been confused with this one. She said no. Lots of time and gas wasted. Order on-line before you trust this store. read more

To be fair, I've been going here for years. While the prices may not be the cheapest around, the service is great and the convenience is worth it. My issue? They are running a promotion where you get both a free light bulb and a free package of batteries "subject to availability". Surprise! They're out of both the bulb and the batteries. They told me that they hope to get more batteries later in the week, if I want to come back. Thanks... This demonstrates either extreme incompetence or a deliberate scam to get people into their store. Either way, what they accomplished was to lose a long-time existing customer. read more
