Delicious! The service is great and the food is incredibly flavorful. Celina, the owner, stopped by to say hello and we learned that she is Latina and she is married to an Egyptian man, hence the worldly inspired and deliciously flavored food. We had the Hatch burger and the Merguez burger with a side of the pastrami fries. Being Latina and Egyptian ourselves, we weren't sure what to expect but this place did not disappoint. They don't hold back the spices and the price point is great for Lafayette, plus they have outdoor family and dog-friendly seating. Definitely worth a try, we'll be coming back to try the rest of the menu! read more

My wife and I are "new" to Lamorinda and with the pandemic are just now out and looking for great spots. She loves fish and chips on Friday's and some reviews led us here. She was not disappointed, great fish and chips (Iknow because I tried one!). I had the kale caesar salad and it was superb. We will be back soon! read more

My wife and I, who commute to the City stopped here yesterday to avoid sitting in commute traffic. We sat in the awesome outside dinning area, just in time to make happy hour. We had great cocktails and sampled about everything on the bar menu. The drinks and food were delicious and well priced. The server(I think his name is Steven) was amazing. He gave honest, good advice on our options. Steven took pride in his work, which was mirrored by the other employees, but also indicative of the restaurant as a whole. With the recent condos and the increase in restaurants in the area, parking is tough to find! Batch and Brine has both indoor and outdoor seating. My fiancé and I recently stopped by Batch and Brine for lunch. We live in nearby Orinda and spend quite a bit of time in Lafayette, so we were excited to try out Batch and Brine. We ordered the kale caesar, the Impossible burger (for my vegetarian fiancé) and the fried chicken sandwich. And fries, of course! The food was pretty good. I believe that we've been waiting for a good restaurant that has a tasty and delightful cuisine and brings to life a community in Lafayette. I enjoyed the variety of the beers and ciders as well as the eclectic menu. The staff were friendly and warm. Though they are only 4 days old I stand by a longevity in our area because they care to succeed and make this the go to place for the in the "know" diners in our area. Highly impressed with Batch & Brine; every item we ordered was fantastic! We started off with Crispy Ribs to share, the Hatch burger for my boyfriend, and the Sierra burger for myself. Both burgers were juicy and well-portioned. We also ordered some beautifully crafted cocktails - their version of the mai tai was great. I love the ambience of the restaurant. Open, but yet still intimate. It's the perfect date night spot. They have an outdoor patio with a community fire pit, perfect for those chilly nights. A bad dining experience. Food delivery was slow, food cold, and sick for two days after. I believe the duck cheese fries was the entree that pushed our gastric systems to the limits. Nothing is worse than greasy cold fries with cold cheese sauce. Ugh! In addition to the disappointing entrees the order was incorrect. No I don't think I would recommend Batch and Brine to anyone. My bf and I came here on a weekday night for dinner. They offer an extensive menu for beers on tap which is why we came here. The fries were phenomenal! The bf got garlic parmesan and I got the duck and cheese with my burger. The duck and cheese fries were very, very delicious. The sliced duck meat and the cheese complemented each other very nicely. The fries were nice and crisp - not too greasy. However, the burgers were not up to par with the fries. I got the sushi burger after not being able to decide between three burgers with the help of our server. My bf got the au poivre (also a recommendation from our server). Sadly, both of our burgers were not good and we regretted our decision. My bf was overwhelmed with the peppercorns on his burger. As for my burger, the ahi tuna patty had a peculiar texture to it. I have had ahi tuna burgers/sandwiches before and they usually are in the form of the actual tuna steak and then seared to a medium rare. This particular ahi tuna was grounded up and then coated with a breading or batter. So every bite I took, the ahi tuna was crumbling all over my plate. My bf tried it and said it wasn't good either. The beer and fries made up for the bad burgers. This place was pretty packed so the service was a little slow. The decor is very lovely and it's very nice when you sit outside. I would definitely come back here for the fries and beer. I'm a little iffy about trying another burger. read more

Everyone who works here is so friendly! Great service and yummy food. We sat outside with our kids and enjoyed an early dinner. Ordered the fried chicken sandwich and the au poivre burger. Very disappointed in Batch & Brine especially since it was 10am on a Sunday. 1. The unwelcoming, strong smell of cleaning solution when we entered. Cleaning should have happened after closing the night prior not before opening. Very unappetizing. 2. Was served orange juice in a glass that was dirty on the outside. Only to ask for a clean glass, watch the waiter go tell two coworkers about the glass and one just waved his hand in the air and they laughed. I'm sorry I prefer a clean glass. 3. Was served chicken and waffle bites that was probably leftovers from yesterday and reheated in old oil. Chicken was cold and extremely oily tasting - surprising for 10 am on a Sunday to be so oily and it's not like you had so many orders you could not throw it on the grill for a few mins. 4. Also ordered sticky pecan french toast. It was ok, nothing special, also on the colder side and had about two pecans. Don't advertise it's pecan if you are not going to serve pecans with it. Not somewhere I would recommend or go back to ever again. You can tell there is not much effort or care put into the food. read more

On Saturday, August 3rd, we were waited on by Alan I who delivers far less than acceptable service. We noticed there were no non-alcoholic drinks listed in the menu so our friend asked what the options were. Alan responded, "what, like juice?" with an unusually rude tone. Our friend asked, do you have iced tea or lemonade? He's like yea we have them and soda so she ordered an Arnold Palmer. When it arrived, it was made with some kind of herbal tea and Minute Maid....we all tasted it....horrible. Another server who was nice enough to respond, brought just a plain iced tea to replace it. It's odd that a restaurant that advertises serving locally sourced natural food would be so lazy (or lacking attention to detail) to service Minute Maid...very disappointing. We ordered and ate. The food was fine but nothing to write home about. Alan dropped off the check. Literally DROPPED the cup with the ticket in it on our table (didn't say a word). Each of us (separately) used the restroom and by the time we were done, he still had not been by to collect the credit card. We finally brought it up to him (unacceptable to have to do that). When he brought back the ticket to sign again, he just tossed the cup on the table....no "thank you" no "I hope you enjoyed everything" no nothing. RUDE AF! Alan, you have a lot to learn about how to interact with people. Needless to say, between the poor service and mediocre food, we will bring our business elsewhere. read more
