Came for a birthday brunch with prior reservation and they sat us immediately. Everyone was super nice and friendly. And it's got a really pretty indoors and outdoors. The lady and I split the breakfast burrito and the waffle and both were amazing. She wanted the whole waffle because it was so good so I only got a fourth of it The breakfast burrito was so rich with flavor as well. They brought the birthday girl out a birthday pudding with a sparkler on it which was super nice and made her feel super special. All in all, a solid brunch choice that we will be returning to hopefully soon. read more

Saturday date night. Always looking for a new dining experience. I saw someone post this place on Tik Tok and looked good. Didn't have reservations but we were seated as soon as we got there at 7. It was busy but still had attentive service. For drinks I got a cosmo and husband got one of their specialty drinks, jalapeño margarita I believe. Both were very good. Starters: Fried burrata. Yum. Never had it fried before and it was memorable. I had the fish and chips, they were okay. Husband had one of their signature burgers and he couldn't finish it. He said it was very good. This meal was so much fun and absolutely refreshing to get such great food and cocktails on this side of the tunnel! I have Celiac and they had such an amazing gluten free menu with all of the substitutions needed to be incredibly safe. I haven't known about my celiac always though, and this was hands down the best burger I've had since before needing to eat gf. I ordered medium rare- as I always do and this was the first place that actually cooked my burger medium rare!!! They also have a dedicated gf frier, which is delightful and so appreciated. Separate from all of the amazing gluten free options, the cocktails were actually really great. It's not that they have the most interesting cocktails, it's more that they do It so well. It seems like everyone has a spicy tequila cocktail these days, which I appreciate from the perspective that peppers offer a really nice flavor, bit if all you can taste is heat, then you end up losing any other complexity or flavor from the alcohol. The serrano mi hermano offered a really well rounded complexity with de-seeded serrano pepper and basil infused syrup. I'm always nervous to order old fashions out at a new place as well, because it's usually a restaurant just kind of phoning it in and collecting $12-15. So I started out with something else but once I tried my fiance's old fashion, I had to order it next. The amazing food and cocktails were completed with such amazing staff that were passionate about what they do and were so all around wonderful! We wanted to go out to brunch before my son headed back to college in Long Beach from Thanksgiving Break. It was a beautiful day out and I've always wanted to dine here with the family since we don't venture out to Lafayette too much. I knew this was going to be a treat for all of us. We arrived around 11 am and opted to sit in their lovely outdoor patio. The décor is urban and modern. Lots of people watching since they are located in the heart of downtown Lafayette (next door to Pizza Antica) on busy Mt. Diablo Blvd. There is metered parking or if you can find free parking, that's even better. Menus, a holder of silverware and napkins, and a carafe of water came to our table immediately. Batch & Brine serves up global gourmet burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Selections include a Philly sandwich or a Duck Bahn Mi. Maybe you're in the mood for Chicken & Waffles for brunch? Well they have that too. I chose the Blue burger because it had all of my favorites- fig jam, candied bacon, and arugula. It was juicy and it had a great depth of flavor. Burgers and sandwiches include French fries. If you want to "load" your fries, you can add garlic parmesan or BBQ pork for an additional charge. If you've ever eaten at Broderick Roadhouse in Walnut Creek, the concept is similar. And that's because the family of cousins own several restaurants. Batch & Brine also hosts Taco Tuesdays. Since they were pretty busy during brunch I'm sure Taco Tuesday is popular as well. I love the diverse and upscale menu. You can go classic or try something unique like the Sushi burger. After deciding to give Batch & Brine another try I definitely need to update my last review! This place is an absolute gem and I'm so glad my sisters decided to go again! In a nutshell, everything was perfect from beginning to end. From the warm greeting we received from the host to the outstanding service from beginning to end, we were blown away! A small group of us met midweek, each arriving separately between 7 & 7:45pm. (Ideally we prefer to arrive all together but we were scrambling, so some of us were late! ). Thankfully our poor timing did not dissuade the staff one bit as they were very friendly and accommodating the entire time. We ordered cocktails and vino which was brought out quickly, followed by appetizers, dinner, and of course dessert! We tried several items including the poke nachos, sticky ribs, fried chicken and Brussels sprouts. Everything came out perfectly timed and cooked and tasted so good no one got a pic before digging in! Our server Steven was probably one of if not THE BEST server we've ever had. He was so attentive and Johnny on the spot with everything (even kept everyone's waters full!) that my sisters would have sworn I had paid extra for VIP service...AMAZING! After the best evening at Batch and Brine we said goodbye to the wonderful staff and left with full bellies and big smiles! Raw eggs for the Benedict. ZERO seasoning, no flavor what's so ever. I had to ask for salt and pepper shakers and even coating them in that there was no flavor. Not even salt on the potatoes. The pastrami sandwich was excellent. This would be a 5 star review if my french fries could have been cooked properly. I told the bartender my fries were not cooked all the way, so she said that she would have them cook me a new batch. The second order that came out was also severely undercooked. Whoever was running the fryer was afraid of the fries having any color apparently. The bartender handled it well, but I did find it odd that after they messed up french fries twice, nothing was done with my check. Being charged $20 for a sandwich where they can't even cook the fries is quite annoying. read more

Great service and delicious food! Came here with family on a Sunday evening. We were quickly seated and were offered iced water. We got the L.E.S with kale salad, Blue with garlic fries, Au Poivre with fries, the chicken sliders, and the cobb salad. The food came out very fast. They messed up our order of side fries so they gave us another order of fries on the house. Of all the burgers and sandwiches, I like the Blue and the Au Poivre burgers the most. The beef patties were juicy and cooked just the way we ordered - rare. The sweetness from the fig jam really stood out in the Blue and gave it a nice balance from the savory of the cheese and beef patty. I love mushrooms so the Au Poivre hit the spot. The chicken sliders were just as delicious as well with a crunch from the fried chicken and coleslaw. I like that they made it with chicken thighs instead of breast - they were very tender and juicy. The kale salad was surprisingly good. The Cobb salad was mediocre - nothing special about it. Will definitely come back for brunch and try the other menu items! read more

Updated 2/9/22: We ordered takeout this weekend for brunch & got the chicken & waffles + biscuits & gravy both of which we've had before & enjoyed. Omg these to go portions were skimpy as hell! The chicken was dry and literally was the size of a skinny ass chicken tender. The waffle was low key nasty & the berries they served with it looked old & mushy af. The biscuits were literally the only good thing. The gravy tasted terrible & I think there was only one egg scrambled. Our total came to about $40. For less than $20 I coulda bought a box of eggos, McDonald's chicken nuggets, a fresh box of berries, & a Popeyes biscuit & been wayyyy happier. Won't be coming back here unfortunately. Was not feeling the inconsistency, bad quality, & cheap servings. read more

My wife and I stopped in here while driving through. My wife has celiac (gluten-free), so it was great to see they offered a gluten-free bun. We both got the pastrami sandwich, which was very tasty. Ahh, so items ordered were the garlic fries, Nashville chicken sliders, chicken tacos, tuna taretare, kale caeser salad. And 2 drinks Serrano Mi hermano and passion fruit punch. Everything was good EXCEPT for the tuna taretare and the Serrano mi hermano which were 2 items recommended by our waiter. For $20, the tuna taretare I say is overpriced, plus I feel the sauce/garnishes and pineapple over powers the actual taste of the tuna. The seranno mi hermano description sounded good BUT oh main, it tasted like freshly squeezed serrano juices, the spice overpowered the taste of everything else and just had a strong kick. I wouldn't order the items again but overall it was a great experience and the other items was 5/5. read more

Came on Friday for dinner and we were seated promptly. This place has really nice heated outdoor seating and blankets on request so you don't have to worry about being cold in the evening. We started with crispy ribs as the appetizer and it did not disappoint. The ribs was tender and flavorful - savory with a hint of sweetness and sourness. We ordered the fried chicken sandwich as the entree and upgraded our fries to the duck and cheese fries. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy. The price for the fries upgrade is a little steep in my opinion but you won't regret it! The fries were SO GOOD - honestly I can have that as a main course. For dessert, we got the s'mores ice cream sandwich - vanilla ice cream between two graham crackers with roasted marshmallows and chocolate sauce. I ordered the brie burger which was delicious as expected, the caramelized onions and tiny pieces of bacon fit perfectly. The ahi on the sushi burger was flavorful but the crispy noodles were odd. The sweet potato fries had the perfect visible amount of salt-just how I like it. Unfortunately the nashville hot chicken salad was lacking in flavor. The sauce had no heat, which nashville hot chicken is supposed to have! Even the dressing just needed something more. Was it worth it? I mean I'm writing this review so...yeah. Eat responsibly, please. I was so excited once I saw the menu of drinks that I didn't check for gluten-free alternatives or options. Sorry...sorta. Again, eat responsibly. The sticky ribs were messy; I'm talking good messy! Thank god I was licking my fingers in front of a dear friend, so no judgment. The ribs were tender, falling right off the bone...I am getting goosebumps just thinking about them ribs. The cocktails are tantalizing! Yeah, I said it. Batch & Brine consistently delivers authentic and creative food and cocktails. My girlfriend and I go at least once every couple of weeks to enjoy the experience. There are a few staples we go back to (kale caesar, taquitos, hot chopped chicken salad, chicken sliders, garlic/parm fries). I also highly recommend their burgers. come for brunch on the weekend. they serve great Benedicts (crab is the best), very tasty micheladas, and a variety of juice for mimosas. The staff is both welcoming and accommodating. I'd definitely recommend batch & brine for lunch, dinner, or breakfast (on the weekend). Check it out when you're in Lafayette! read more

Writing this review after about 4-5 visits to Batch & Brine - clearly I'm a fan lol. My photos are mainly from my most recent visit. Batch & Brine is great. We are always seated almost immediately no matter the time or day. We've sat both outside and indoors - both are a great experience. The staff is always so lovely and the parking is always pretty easy to find. You can't go wrong with any of the food here to be honest. We usually come for brunch, and have loved mostly everything. Chicken & Waffles, Chilaquiles, biscuits & gravy, millionaire benedict - all are delicious! Favorites are the chicken & waffles and biscuits & gravy - both a 10/10. The chilaquiles were a favorite for me but they changed them since the last time and I'm less of a fan of the newer version, but still very good. I had the breakfast burrito with the short rib once, and didn't care for it. My brother had the regular burger and LOVED it. Their burger looks pretty dang solid, even though I didn't get a chance to try it lol Now for desserts..... Before they changed chefs, we had the chocolate pudding and a smores dessert. Both were GREAT, but I became obsessed with the pudding lol One of my all time favorite desserts to day. Then we came a day just for dessert, and was informed that there was a new chef & the pudding was no longer on the menu. I about DIED. We ended up trying some flan with fruit & I wasn't a fan. Fast forward a few months and THE PUDDING IS BACK!!!! It's just as good as before so I'm a happy girl. It's like a cross between a pudding and a ganache. I love it!!!! I was so egg-cited about this place, but then they cracked:( I stopped by for Sunday brunch with my friend and was already loving the atmosphere and ambience of the place. We decided to sit outside so we could enjoy the beautiful day. I ordered the eggs Benedict and my friend ordered the eggs any style. I love a good eggs Benedict and was so excited when my food arrived. Everything looked amazing- a hot buttered English muffin, Canadian style bacon, and poached egg with a heavenly drizzle of hollandaise sauce with roasted potatoes to mop up the extra egg yolk. BUT looks are deceiving. When I cut into my egg it was hard boiled. I didn't really know how to react but was wondering why they would even serve this to me. I called the waitress over and she was just as shocked at the sad looking egg on my plate and immediately got me a new one. I still had a great meal with my friend and the service was quick and our waitress was lovely! However in terms of food I don't think it was anything special and they definitely lost me with the mistake on a classic brunch item. I don't think I will return again for brunch but the burgers do look tasty so I might have to give them a second chance! read more
