I really enjoy Bascom Donuts, not only because the donuts are good but because the owners are really sweet. They close at around 2pm, and the many times I've been there have been nothing but pleasant. Sometimes they even include a little extra treat in your bag! The storefront doesn't look like much, but don't let that deter you; those are the best spots. Went in on a Saturday around 10:30am looking for some donut holes and pastries for a road trip. There was one cream cheese pastry left, I I opted for the muffins blueberry, bran, banana -- all were moist and fresh unfortunately the blueberry muffin only had three berries lol The donuts when available are fresh and consistent. The French cruller is my all time favorite and they make it exactly the way I crave it. Recently after we got off work in the morning I decided to come here with my co-worker to see what all the fuss was about, I was even skeptical about the other yelp reviews. So what makes these 5 star donuts?? They are so fluffy & soft, and just melt in your mouth with each bite. These donuts are so fresh. Even after 12 hours they were just as delicious. It's amazing just what friendly service and a few extra doughnuts holes will have you doing....stopped in here for a sec and after I requested a raspberry filled doughnut I was informed that it was no problem she'd fill one for me right now...it was fast, friendly, delicious and surprisingly inexpensive! We ordered 4 doughnuts and had like half a dozen doughnut holes thrown in from the lady helping us and it cost a whole $6.50! I love this place. They have never given me bad service and I have been coming here for years. There are many donut places around here but this place has the most fresh for a great price. They also serve more than just donuts. I always order their ham and cheese croissant warmed up and a small coffee. They have many different coffees to choice from including hazelnut, vanilla, and regular. They have vanilla creamer as well. This place is a nice mom and pop place and all of the workers here are so nice. One time I dropped my credit card on accident and they held on it to and returned it me that same week. Another customer heard the story and tipped them extra for doing that. I cannot day enough nice things about this place. My boyfriend and I recently moved into the area back in May and we always noticed this donut shop whenever we drove by. About a few weeks ago, we decided to take a mid day break to walk up to Starbucks. Well... Starbucks ended up being pretty far so we abandoned that idea and decided to see if Bascom Donuts had coffee. Well, long story short, they do! And really amazing freaking donuts! The coffee options were actually a lot more impressive than I had expected. They had flavors such as vanilla macadamia and a chocolate Hawaiian coffee which are both super delicious. The donuts are top notch as well. So fluffy and flavorful. And when you order multiple items, they tend to toss in some donut holes for you as well. You might think it impossible to mess up a donut. I thought so too, but in sampling the donut shops around the South Bay, I have discovered it is indeed possible. This place, however, knows what they're doing. If you're headed there in the wee hours of the morning, you are greeted by the very happy, smiling face of the lady behind the counter. I wish I knew her name, because she really is the reason this place is getting a five star rating from me. She's extremely nice, friendly, and the kind of face you need to see to brighten your day at 5:00 AM. The donuts are outstanding. I am partial to old fashioned donuts, and the selection here has just that right amount of crunch and doughyness, plus they do a good job on the glaze. Their donut holes are also outstanding, and I rarely make it far down the street without eating all that I've acquired. We used to live around the corner from this donut shop and knew the donuts were good but kind of took it for granted...now that we live in Sunnyvale (20 mins away) and have tried THREE different donut places for our Sunday morning tradition, we know that we were LUCKY to have Bascom Donuts practically in our backyard for all those years. Now we're spoiled forever... ;o) Why are their donuts so special? - They are lighter/fluffier than most...that is the biggest difference. - They aren't sickeningly sweet...I want to taste the dough with a sweet accent not sweet, sweet, sweet - They give you free donut holes! - They are SOOOO friendly...always...I haven't found ANYone this friendly at ANY donut shop...what the heck?! I used to come here 10+ years ago, after visiting my Dentist nearby. Nothing like tearing into a Maple Bar after the dentist telling you 'you have 15 cavities'. I used to grab a doughnut, and a little Whole Milk, and I was in Heaven. Just came back here on Thanksgiving morning and they were open! They service is fantastic, they were excited to be at work there. Not only that but they added a doughnut hole to each of our orders as a little surprise. Pretty cool seeing all the old balls hang out here and drink the coffee, talking about the old days. They accept credit card as well, although there is a $5 minimum. I really wanted to like this place...it's a small mom and pop joint and I like supporting them. I was in the mood for croissants and Yelp led me there as it's just a few miles from home.I bought a plain croissant, a glazed and a double chocolate donut. All for $3.5 so it's pretty reasonable. The croissant was huge but I felt it was too dense. Croissants are supposed to be light and buttery but this felt like it was too heavy. We've been going to this neighborhood shop for well over 10 years. It has always been our favorite, with super friendly service and great breakfast sandwiches. Coffee has always been a weak point, but not bad. I'd give the shop a 5, but the quality of the donuts has been dropping over the last year or so - thinking maybe some issues with COVID, but not really sure why this would change the donuts.... Honestly, still great overall, but the donuts are just not as light and fluffy as they used to be, and they are going much heavier on the glaze. We haven't seen Sam there in a very long time, so maybe without his oversight the recipe changed a bit. I'd still recommend, especially for the sandwiches, but for the first time in many years we're starting to check out other shops. read more

I come here occasionally because my dentist is right across the street from it. I know it's a bad thing but it's a treat for me when I do. I have even driven here early in the AM on the weekend just to get my fill. Service is friendly and fast. What I usually get here: -Apple fitters which are delicous and crunchy. -Donut holes are fresh and buttery. if you buy several donuts they usually throw some donut holes in with your order. -Old fashioned maple The maple looks darker and sometimes it's crispy on top. Not sure how they achieve this texture but it's amazing and I wish they would have this texture all the time. Even if they don't this old fashioned maple is still much better then other places. Even though I haven't tried all their donuts yet I'm sure they're very good going by what I usually buy. read more

Yelped for a local donut shop near our new place and this one popped up high in the ratings and 1.4 miles away but an easy drive. Looks clean outside and inside, good parking, decent selection of main stream donut types. Today I had an Apple Fritter and the Mrs. had donut holes and a plain old fashioned donut. The fritter was one of the best I have had in a long time, great Apple flavor and fruit inside and I liked it was thinner than others. Frosting on it too was superior. Donut holes were yummy, but the old fashioned a bit off on taste to my wife's liking. Friendly hard working ladies behind the counter and a stream of people coming in while we sat and ate speaks volumes too.
