Surrounded by lots of local and niche shops and even a bar/grill or two, this cafe is sequestered in a space that has FREE parking. Side streets, along the main road, and an actual parking lot (of which you have to pay for, but you don't have to if you circle the block a few times) makes it easier than easy to park and walk on over to grab a drink. The space is very open and gives off art gallery vibes but the barista is very friendly and my drink came out right away. Lots of outlets and a variety of coffee options for the chronically drained. The music is soft, up in the rafters somewhere and the hum of machinery and lights is the main ambient sound that I actually like when I'm working. Great place to spend a few hours at for a study sesh or to write! I got the blended Java chip, which was alright and came with a healthy top of whipped cream. I needed a place to lay low before my evening event. The Yelp reviews here looked decent so I decided to check it out. Here was my experience on a mid Friday afternoon. AMBIANCE: Parking: Street parking, they're all generally two hour parking. Seating: All inside seating for about 30 people, generally setups for 2 or 4 people. There's some standard seating tables and semi-high seating. Feels: A nice location in downtown Whittier in a spot that is not too busy. The spot itself is quite pleasant. A small but spacey spot with a minimal and clean feel. A nice balance of natural and dimmed electronic lighting. There's some nice local art to get distracted in and the light alternative rock puts you in a working mood. There are about 4 areas for outlets which makes it great to bring your computer. Overall a great place to grab a quick drink, have a simple coffee date, or do some clockwork. FOOD: Iced Coffee (A-OK) I asked for a hint of cream and hazelnut. The portion was agreeable and the taste was pleasant. It got me going. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Swell. Can't complain - friendly service, quick delivery. TL; DR OVERALL: 4 Stars. In my attempts to try and support more local coffee shops I stumbled across this hidden gem. Tried their iced vanilla latte about a year ago and fell in love with the quality of their coffee. Every time i come in its just as good. The place itself is really quiet, great place to study or work. Even when all the tables are occupied the noise level is still pretty low. If i had to to say a negative is that they don't open early enough. I'd love to make this my go-to morning coffee shop before work but the opening time wouldn't make that possible. Most of the time that I go in, it's for a Affogato. A nice warm espresso shot which there vanilla bean ice cream, really does hit the spot for a sweet but quick way for caffeine. And if you want to add syrup you but it be a lil extra- worth it. The owner is always friendly. It's also a good place to do work/ school work as it very big and colorful. It's an intensely quiet shop, almost library-esque, so my shoes cracked through the silence loudly. I ordered a latte and it's ridiculously small in size for its price and average in flavor. The tea my friend got is slightly larger in cup and is just a basic selection of tea bags, nothing fancy. The decor is ultra minimalist but I do like the dog icon on the walls and cups. Not sure if it's going to be my first choice in coffee in the area but if you're looking for a quiet place to work with high-end styled coffees, this is your go to spot.
