Sometimes you just want to wash life away with a boba slush and thanks to being in Whittier a few weeks back, I found myself at Chami Tea Bar next to my favourite shop the Toy Depot. My wife and I strolled into this shop in the middle of the afternoon and were in and out in just a couple of minutes. I ordered a mango slush with boba and before I knew it I was on my way. The drink tasted great and quenched every bit of thirst I had. What else can someone need out of a boba shop? I was driving down the street and saw the sign for this place, so of course, I need to make a stop. It was already the late afternoon, but there was plenty of parking available. It's a small store but there is some seating available. The menu board is very reflective and can take extra glances to see clearly. The drinks are a good price. The drinks are okay quality but poorly made imo. My latte is way too milky and not strong at all and the matcha is bad quality and also very milky in which im not suprised. We stopped by here after our trip to the Bubble world experience. Chami Tea was super refreshing, I recommend the mixed fruit drink. It comes with a cute fork to grab the fruits after. The tea was refreshing and cold, perfect for a hot day. The fruits gave extra flavor and was nice to chew on. The brown sugar boba was also very good. Small place located on a busy corner at Beverly Blvd. and Workman Mill Road/Norwalk Blvd., in the same complex as Pho-ology Plus, Wingstop, and Whittier Ranch Market. I had their house boba (Chami Boba Milk Tea), no sugar. The boba pearls are top-notch in texture, chewiness, size, and taste, being just sweet enough for me. The medium drink was in a cute, high quality cup in a good size for a mid-afternoon snack, enough to tide me over until dinner but not over-filling. May be a bit pricey for the size but all prices are going up these days. The tea flavor seemed weaker than I have had at other places. The amount of ice was fine, not too much or too little. Maybe I should try their fruit teas next time instead since they have a lot of those on the menu. Service was friendly and quick, and I appreciated the heads-up that there is a service fee for credit card purchases. Got the honey citrus tea (which they recommended because it's their most popular plus I had a cold). And it was SO amazing. They said it's like the Starbucks medicine ball, but I think it's better. Don't go here. First of all, the Boba is kind of mid. Most of the drinks have tasted watery compared to other local shops. Second, the customer service is alwful. I drove down at 7:38 on Mother's day to get my wife a boba. I walked in with the sign saying "open come on in" and I was told "We close in 2 minutes." I asked if the 8pm time was incorrect and was told that they needed 20 minutes to close. If you don't want customers to come in, update your hours and/or close early. Still the best. I've traveled far and wide. Even through the locality which is this boba-rich landscape in Whittier, Chami sets the bar. Service is very friendly, and the boba is done perfectly. Our normal take out is Thai tea (with an extra splash of half and half) and the matcha latté. We always take a brief moment of satisfaction with our first sips. So good! This is my favorite boba place to visit! This place offers many options and I love that they add pieces of fruit into their drinks. Always tastes super fresh and I have gone through a few punch cards already. I always recommend this place to anyone coming to Whittier. I usually order a large peach green tea with boba and 10% sugar and light ice. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and will have your drink out fairly quickly depending how busy they are. After saying a final goodbye to a dear co-worker, a few of my co-workers and I stopped by nearby Chami for some boba. I ordered the green milk tea boba, medium size with less ice and at 30% sweet ($4). This is the first place where I've seen sweetness levels at 30%, 50%, 70% or 100%. So weird. The usual is 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%. Boba is already included in the drink so I didn't have to pay for the add-on. I enjoyed the boba itself (not honey boba, but that is a topping option), but the tea tasted watered down as if they added more water to dilute the tea for the sweetness. There was no taste of sugar at all, despite being 30%. My co-workers who've been here before had told me afterwards that the workers usually snigger at you if you order 30% sweet or 0% sweet. I didn't get that when I ordered but my co-worker who ordered no sugar with her drink that day got that treatment. Seems unprofessional to do that. We also got a Hong Kong egg waffle ($4) which came out piping hot and had the balance of crunchiness and sweetness. There's a fee of 30 cents if you use a credit card for purchases under $10. They have a plexi-glass barrier to separate you from the register when you order and pick up your drink. Parking is not too bad either with spots available in the shared lot, despite the many other stores in the plaza. read more

It's important to try all the teas! Lol I've been seeing fruit teas more and more on menus so I've been trying them all. This cute tea shop has limited seating, only a few can actually sit in store. The shop itself sits in a complex with plenty of free parking. The barista who took my order was very nice and helpful and after about 5 mins my drink was ready. This fruit tea has real passion fruit juice/ seeds in it but the tea was a little bitter. I've had this type of tea before at other shops so I'm comparing.
