I stopped by Chami and decided to try both some milk tea and the egg waffle. For the milk tea, I decided to get a large Thai milk tea. This had a decent flavor to it, no cheap syrupy after taste that you may find in other shops. The sweetness is fine as well, not overtly sweet. The egg waffle is plan and akin to a style from Hong Kong. However, the taste was rather plain. A decent pairing with a sweet drink, but overall it was a bit disappointing. Overall, Chami has se good milk tea, but I think the egg waffles are more of a novelty. read more

So first off, I adore the colors of the mural inside. It was super fun to look at while I waited for my order, which took about ten minutes. If covid were not a thing you can bet I'd be taking pictures with it. But as per what drew me here.. It was something I had never seen before: a Taro Boba Toast Pocket! Now, I love both of those things, so I was super excited to have it in a new way. Let me tell you: this thing made my day! Absolutely worth the wait, it is all you think it could be and more. The bread on the outside is perfectly toasted while still having fluffy parts on the inside, and also imparting a lovely buttery flavor. And the inside, where do I start!? The filling was nice and chilled which was a really interesting contrast to the warm and toasty bread. The mouthfeel was really pleasant too! Rather than just a super smooth puree, you could catch the occasional chunk of ube, which I thought was delightful. And while it was sweet, it wasn't overly sweet, which would have made it too rich to finish the entire thing. Instead it was the perfect level, working well with the boba. The boba itself was exactly the texture you want when you think of boba, so you can tell it's super fresh and cooked well. Not hard, not too soft, but the ideal chewiness. Love the personality of this place! It's fun to walk into and makes for a bright experience. The drink selection is straight forward and has its own unique flare. I particularly enjoyed the Chami fruit tea with the actual pieces of fruit and added boba if needed. The waffle is delicious! I wish they had a quicker way of making it, but it's worth a try. Got the brown sugar latte slush with extra boba and the taro boba toast pocket. We loved what we got, slush was flavorful and boba was fresh and soft. Toast pocket was perfectly crisp and soft with a fun filled center. We just wish they had other options as far as filling. We thought many flavors would be good with their bread. The tea was sooo delicious! You could really taste the flavor of the tea along with the sweetness being perfect for my liking with the extra brown sugar no only was it a creamy texture already the crème brûlée topping made the tea creamier with a nice thick sweetness. It was my first time coming to this place and I gave it a 4/5 because I wasn't too fond of the drink taste. I'm sure this was made with water instead of milk because it tasted more watery. Since we've moved to Whittier we've been trying new spots and this has become our new tea spot! They have an array of teas, milk teas, slushies, etc. and they also have the Asian waffle cones which are delicious! One thing I really like is that they give many options on the sweetness, including options like 30%, 50%, and 75%. We've always gotten it delivered since it's during covid, and the only thing I would say doesn't travel well is the waffle but that's to be expected, so just a little pop in the microwave makes it perfect again! My suggestions for drinks would be the watermelon slushie (super refreshing) or the chami milk tea with boba (a regular milk tea, but quite delicious, and I've been to a lot of tea bars haha) read more

This tea spot is the best in Whittier imo! My go to drink has been the Jasmine green tea with cheese foam. The drink is consistently delicious and reasonably priced! They are maintaining the cleanliness of the store and following covid protocols so it's been nice being able to go for a boba run to this place in the midst of the craziness going on in the world right now. As driving down Beverly decided to stop by chami tea bar while waiting for my wing stop order. As my first time here I had a few questions regarding the drink options. I was greeted by a rude person taking orders, she was a latina women with face piercing. I am unsure why she had TERRIBLE attitude, everything I asked her it was an issue for her to answer. I was ready to pay and she repeated my order and I confirmed it and she rolled her eyes and I had enough and said cancel my order. I left here upset and disappointed over this person stinky attitude. We ordered three drinks : Brown Sugar Milk Tea - Matcha Green Tea Latte and Vanilla Milk Tea. All of them with boba and the boba was really good! Fresh and great texture, I'm picky with boba texture and this one was perfect. I asked what the popular drinks were and I went with the Vanilla Milk Tea, which I've never had.
