We haven't tried this Bareburger yet so we decided to go here for lunch. It's smaller than the Forest Hills location but about the same size as the one in Astoria. Inside was your typical Bareburger decor. They told us we could sit either at the booth or table. We grabbed a table and they gave us menus. I ordered the Sweet Bison Blues. My daughter got the special which was a smash burger with fries and my husband got the make your own burger combo and vanilla shake. The food came out pretty quickly. My bison burger was good but if you told me it was beef I would have believed you. It was juicy and cooked well and they were accommodating when I asked for a bed of lettuce instead of a bun. They gave a generous amount of bacon and the cheese went well with the burger. My daughter liked her smash burger. They were also accommodating with her order as she didn't want any vegetables or sauce. My husband also received a generous amount of bacon on his burger. The milkshake wasn't very thick but tasted good. Good experience, probably will stick with the regular burgers next time. read more

Has a California vibe to it given the organic and healthier options available. Usually at a NY burger place there is no such thing as organic ketchup and healthy options. Nope, our server was great, friendly and attentive. The food came out fast and well made. My favorite part of Bareburger has always been that they use better meat - grass fed beef, organic elk, etc... Solid lunch today. I opted for the Southern Chix sandwich while wife had the Blue Bison sliders and we shared an order of fried pickles. Everything was assembled well and generously portioned. The quality of the ingredient and preparation stood out. Service was on point. The dining area is charming and interesting. With the lemonade I had, the meal (before tip) came in at just under $50. Now that's not very cheap but it's on par with other restaurants that serve similar fare. Metered parking during lunch was easy to find and it was pretty quiet on there when we arrived just after 1pm. The food is delicious and always perfectly cooked. However, half the time we order takeout/delivery, they forget something. Tonight it was the sauces. If you're going to charge for each sauce, do not forget to include them. I got all the way home and had to go back to the restaurant, then come back and eat a lukewarm meal. I used to love going to Bareburger as their burgers are better than the fast food chains, but I should have looked at the reviews for this location. I was ignored by server while deciding where to sit as all of the tables were for more than one person. The lady at the counter was kind enough to hand me the menu after I chose a table. The other server said within earshot that I didn't say a word to him, which I presume should have been my responsibility as a customer, but then offered other seats to the other diners who came after me. It took a while for me to get the check, which the server eventually gave without a word. The food was good but service is horrendous. I will warn my friends from Bayside to stay away. The best impossible burger I have ever had. I don't eat meat so I always order a meatless patty when I'm in the mood for a burger. Every restaurant has their own version of a veggie burger or meatless patty and some are better than others. My favorite is the impossible patty but most places over cook the patty and it becomes very dry very quickly and I've never had one that tasted seasoned. I ordered the Forager. I subbed the sprout bun for a brioche bun and added pepper jack cheese. This burger has crispy fried onions, wild mushrooms, bbq sauce and arugula. YUM!! It was cooked medium rare (just how a burger should be) and it was so flavorful and juicy. Delicious to say the least. I also had a side of onion rings which were good, perfectly crispy.
