We had dinner for 4 here Mon 09/25. Pleasant ambiance with seating on outside patio. Service fast and attentive without overwhelming. We had flank steak, New York steak, shrimp pad thai, and ceasar salads, plus appetizer. Food was all good with nice plating presentation. Only negative was New York steak having a bit too much gristle and fat, but good flavor. We recommend this establishment and will return on next visit to Boise from Portland. read more

Best place to eat, GREAT SERVICE! Our server was Jody and our food was taking a while to get out, but Jody kept checking in on us to see how we were doing. It was super busy, but she kept refilling our waters and reassuring us our food was coming. When the food came out, it was delicious! We got the Bruschetta (Highly recommended!!!) And also split the salmon fillet, but the caesar salad was a bit warm. However that was the only thing we found not to our liking but it still tasted good! Bardeney is where I always take out-of-towners. It is a local place with good food and decent service. I love their happy hour satays. You can try all of them and they only cost.around $2 each at HH. I also love their trout spread and salmon salad. read more

One of my favorite places in Eagle. When it's not fall/winter they have outdoor seating with a beautiful view overlooking a lake with lighting that sets a romantic and eclectic ambiance. They also distilled vodka, rum, and gin. I believe they are all gluten-free as well! They also have a great gluten-free menu which is a relief for those who have allergies to it. I write this with some trepidation. My wife and I eat here often. And I will do a follow up if I see things turning around. But lately the overall quality of the food served has slipped, not talking taste as that is still top notch but quality. Came in last night for dinner ordered the Spanish ribeye. The flavor was inspired the meat was the problem. I didn't bring this to the waitress's attention because my wife thinks I complain to much and I didn't want to ruin her birthday dinner. But the steak was tough and gristly. It's as if for cost cutting the quality of meat has dropped. This is the second time I've noticed it which is a shame. Went here for brunch for the first time with my boyfriend this summer while visiting my family and was not disappointed. Plenty of healthy (and sinful :] ) food options, and the Ginger Rum cocktail is DELICIOUS...oh my god. And strong haha. Our server was a guy with long hair and tatted up arms- great personality, funny, and genuinely friendly. We had such a great experience that we came back later the same day with friends and drank copious amounts of mojitos. The only downside was the noise level, lots of Eagle soccer mamas getting wasted and rowdy here with their friends during Sunday brunch haha. Never have I been to Idaho. I had to go recently for a work trip and being the foodie I am, the first thing I do is look on Yelp, to see what restaurants are near my workplace and hotel, each time I travel for work (or travel, period)! I had this place pop up in my "restaurants near you" and when I was at St. Luke's Hospital working during my visit to Boise, this same restaurant was recommended to me. Bardenay is so amazing, it overlooks the Boise river, has a nice outdoor patio and the indoor dining area is very spacious as well. Huge bar area and open seating. They also have their own distilled gin, vodka, and rum; uhm, hello!!!! Their drinks are amazingly smooth and their happy hour menu for food AND drinks are so reasonable. Refer to my pictures for price/size of plates and portions. Everything I had from their spinach pear salad, chicken wings, and even their carrot cake were delicious. I can tell you, every time I am in the Boise/Eagle area, I am definitely stopping by Bardenay, yay! read more

Mother's Day at Bardenay was a joke! We were told no reservations yet there were people in line with reservations. Stood outside for 2 hours with no communication as to what line we needed to be in. They were still setting up the patio for seating at 10:30 when apparently they opened at 10:00. It was a joke! Finally got seated. Buffet was ok. Buffet lines were even unorganized and people were tripping over each other. Even to get to the bathroom you had to cross over the kitchen staff going down the hallway. My food was cold by the time I got to my table. My son and I also had 4 dirty plates we had to set aside. I'm not impressed with the buffet items. It was like thrown together and very simple. The omelet was ok but they were extremely slow in making them since there was only 2 people cooking them. I won't go back. The noise level is also awful in there. I've had dinner there before and it is just ok. I think they need step it up with more flavorful food, get organized, and train their staff better on service. read more

We came in on a Friday with a party of 9....no reservation. We waited less then 20 minutes to be seated. We had a herd of hungry, restless kids and Benji was AWESOME!!! He was patient and recommended an appetizer that had no wait time to soothe the hungry beasts. Our food came in an average amount of time and was DELICIOUS. I highly recommend the Pho! And when my dessert obsessed kid requested fried ice cream they went ABOVE AND BEYOND and found animal crackers to make it happen!! We went to Bardenay's for Mother's Day and we expected it to be busy, but the poor service and lack of organization was extremely disappointing. According to the info on their website and voicemail, they don't take reservations so we had been prepared to wait a bit, but there were people in the long line when we arrived that claimed they did have reservations which caused a lot of confusion for many in the line who thought everyone would have to endure the wait. After waiting 2 hours to be seated (and we still had to go up and ask to be seated instead of getting called within the time frame they'd given us), we were sat at a table outside with water dripping on it and then left by the hostess with no direction of who would be helping us or how we would order. It turned out that they were hosting a special buffet for Mother's Day but it hadn't been advertised or announced at all as far as I could tell. If we had known it would be a sub par buffet of unoriginal breakfast food, we wouldn't have bothered waiting for 2 hours, but at that point we were all hungry and just wanted to eat. All in all, we left as soon as we could and were very upset by how chaotic and un-special it made our Mother's Day brunch feel. Maybe on a regular day the service would have been better, but the experience we had does not warrant a return visit or recommendation. read more

Awesome space, sitting right on the Boise River, close to downtown Eagle. If it were warmer, we'd have definitely sat on the patio sipping drinks and ogling the river. Modern menu, in-house beer brewing, and a sort of industrial feel inside. It reminds me of The Yardhouse chain from the western states, which probably explains my lapse in judgement. I must've forgotten that I was in a landlocked state and I ordered some Ahi tuna. It arrived brown in color, clearly exposed to way too much air, and slimy in texture. Not appetizing, but I still tried a piece. It definitely wasn't edible, and if our server had ever checked on us, I would've sent it back and asked for something else. At the end of the meal, she came back and noticed that the Ahi was basically untouched and asked me if there was a problem. I told her it just wasn't fresh enough to eat, so I was surprised when she shrugged and still charged me for it. Maybe she was just lazy, as I'm hoping that Bardenay stands behind their food more than she did. I also had a cup of soup that was pretty good, not amazing, but good. My friend had a salad that she ooh'd and aah'd over, but she's pretty amazed by salads in general. I'd only come back if it were just for drinks and a view of the river. It reminds me of the restaurants on the beach, up and down the California coast that get by serving mediocre food because people will pay top dollar to see some water swish by. read more

Service here is appalling. We came to sit out on the patio to have a drink and we were told by an employee we could sit anywhere we wanted. We made our way back towards the patio filled with other people but not very busy , and found a spot to out satisfaction. A few minutes after sitting down we were yelled at by two very angry servers. The first was a short guy , running around shouting behind his shoulder "who told us we could sit there !"because he was going to go yell at him-)Um ... okay? )the second ,a tall lady , shortly afterwards stated and yelled out the same thing from a far and not actually to our faces for some reason because they didn't have enough staff to help us so I asked if we moved to another table if they would still have enough staff to help us so she scoffed and passive aggressively started to repeat herself as to why someone didn't show up : yadda yadda yadda , (like I give a shit) so we got up and moved one and a half feet to a table where a server was to help us . By the time they were done reading us the riot act they could have already taken our drink order and had it made and brought out by then-we kind of wanted to leave due to the fact we felt we were possibly being vibed out , due to the fact we sat at a table that wasn't close to other large people wearing blue and orange , or that we weren't blonde like most of the people there were- I don't know? But I wanted a drink and that's what I was there for and didn't care enough what the disgruntled staff might have thought about us so after waiting a little while we ordered two drinks - mine was the ginger rum . It it was surprisingly good but extremely sugary.Moral of the story is this: this place is a piece of shit.The end. read more

We have liked this place in the past and especially for lunch. Decided to go there for our anniversary on a Sunday night and were disappointed. First, having to seat yourself is very awkward not knowing if you're going to find a table on the patio and ours needed cleaning. Witnessed several parties wandering around the patio looking to find a table going back and forth. My wife ordered a steak sandwich and wasn't asked how she wanted it and it came well done like a piece of leather. Service was slow and my meal didn't seem that fresh or appetizing. I highly recommend the ginger Rum martini. Also a great stop for happy hour as well! The food is good. I want that first and foremost to be known. My coworker's and I order food from this establishment at least once a week. We order it to pick up and bring back to our office to eat as leaving for lunch is difficult for us to do. Every time we call in an order and pick it up we are treated as an inconvenience and dismissed. We are either placed on hold for countless minutes or when we come in we are not greeted in a positive manner, actually this is where the dismissive part comes in. We are so disappointed in this as the food is so good. I hope that at some point their service will improve. read more

First time, Saturday, 6pm. Place is packed. Sign it is a good place right? Well service was terrible! We didn't get served until 7:20. I ordered the Portuguese Clam, they were out. So I ordered the Sashimi Salad. It was just greens and pieces of raw tuna. What I thought it was the dressing, was plain soy sauce, but had already poured over the salad. The salad size was so small I thought it was a side salad. So I left and went to Albertson's to get food because I spent $30 and was still hungry. read more

The location is beautiful. It is right on the river surrounded by trees, so very peaceful. As far as the food, I wasn't that impressed. I had steak tacos, which is a pretty simple dish. You get 2 tacos, so if you're quite hungry, you better order more food. Also, my tacos had zero seasoning. I hate adding table salt to my food, but this had no choice. The tacos were pretty basis on corn tortillas. Since my dinner was so light I decided I wanted to try their coconut or carrot cake. They were out of both...at this point I'm over it. I'll take the check please. So, I'm leaving still hungry ans not satisfied. The waitress told me that it os normal for them to run out of a lot of things on Sunday's...not cool. This is our favorite restaurant in the valley! We love taking out of town guests here, and they are always impressed. The patio is gorgeous- a must in the Spring & Summer! It's a great place to bring our young kids, as it is on the louder side and we don't need to worry about our kids being too noisy. (That said, this place kind of has a bar atmosphere- we often take the whole family, but usually choose to reserve Friday or Saturday nights for a grown-ups only night out. It's completely family-friendly, just our personal choice since those nights are pretty busy.) On that note, a fair warning- this is a seat-yourself establishment. It can get crowded on Friday nights especially, so plan to wait a bit. Much easier to do with a drink in your hand! The food and drinks are consistently great here. We love the menu- anyone can find something to suit them. And the prices are amazing- seriously a great deal for the quality of food. The dressings taste homemade, which I love- not your usual overdone fare. When we moved to the area 10 years ago, we were told we had to try this place for the fish & chips- it's still a great meal! Some of our other favorites- Club sandwich (not your run of the mill with too much bread!), Meatloaf sandwich, Yellowfin Tuna Club, Salmon, and Trout. And their burger is one of the best! Their Sunday brunch is wonderful- always good and totally affordable, even with cocktails. We recommend the Spicy Chicken Benedict and Breakfast Martini. Their bar is the best- great beers on tap and nice wine selection; we love their inventive cocktails, along with the classic standbys. The house squeezed juices make for the freshest and best tasting drinks- we're fans of the margarita and mojito.
