I have been to this restaurant several times. I have enjoyed the food and have not had a bad experience in that department. But the horrible bright lights and the loud music when the restaurant is so loud already is too much for me. The only way to avoid any of that is to sit at the bar which is always nice and we get great service from the bartenders. But it is not always convenient to sit at the bar when you have a larger group. Please management turn down those spotlights and turn down that music ! Better ambience would bring me back more often! Whoever we are dining with at the time always agrees. Too bright and too noisy. Just thought I would speak up! Love the food! read more

This is one of our favorite places to go for atmosphere, food and drinks. Love the outdoor seating area on the river.

Always good food and good service. Drinks are always great. We always get the trout, you just can't go wrong with that dish.

Best service I've had in a long time! My fiancé and I went in on a whim after hearing about the restaurant from a coworker. Right as we walked in the vibe was awesome. That's important to me for sure. My fiancé had the fettuccine Alfredo and I had the Charbroiled burger with the peanut dipping sauce. The sauce was amazing! I had never tried it and I'm very glad I did. The service was amazing. Not too nosey which is perfect. No one likes the server that comes by every two minutes asking is everything is okay like a insecure girlfriend. I forgot his name but he had a sick beard and made us feel like one of his buddies. We gave him a nice tip and he definitely deserved it. I would recommend anyone that's looking to try someplace new to check out Bardenays and give them a shot! read more

We've been sitting in the bar area for 12 minutes and no one has even made eye contact with us or even offered us a menu. I think we'll stay a little longer just to see how bad this can get!!! read more

The food here is so good. The customer service was awesome. The server was super kool. I will definitely come back here again when i am in town. read more

My Caesar salad was delicious and the wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. With a whole table full of loud girls, our waiter remained funny, sweet and helpful- I wish I had caught his name! Will definitely return! read more

Service was fine. Food was blah. Went for brunch on a Sunday around noon. My husband and I both ordered salmon dishes and the salmon was just meh. Not cooked well. My salmon came on the pear spinach salad and looked like the slab of salmon was just thrown on top of it. Not sliced or anything. Did not look very appetizing. Maybe was just an off day in the kitchen... frustrating when you are excited for a good meal out! read more

Wonderful! My favorite restaurant of all time. All the salads are great. The Sweet Potato and Black Bean Chimichanga is a must try! Even non vegetarian's will like it! read more

Had a very nice time here. The food and service were very good. I'd recommend it to people visiting in the area. If you happen to vacationing in the Boise area, you should stop by. If you are single, there seems to be a lot of other singles there...so there's that. read more

Not good. Noisy room, indifferent rushed service, questionable freshness, poorly executed entrees. Good beer selection. Won't be back. read more

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Eagle. Great food, atmosphere and service. A few of my favorites are the trout and salmon.

If your staying at the Hilton garden inn then you'll be happy to know this place is right next door. Hold your horses though and don't get too excited... unfortunately the manager (Stacy) at this place is extremely RUDE. We were in town for a wedding (seriously a celebration) so as you can imagine we were a larger group of about 12 sitting in the bar area, and conversing with each other-- obviously a group that big is going to be a little loud, unless your in a library studying for a final... but we weren't we were celebrating the soon to be Mr. & Mrs. having a good time, Stacy (manger) comes over about every 5 minutes telling us we're too loud and disturbing the restaurant (keep in mind there were 2 people eating in the restaurant) she could have reseated them or had us move to the patio? If we were really that loud and disturbing, but she didn't instead she made rude comments and we literally felt like she was harassing our group. She even told some of us we were better off going to a bar down the street... I mean we're a large group buying drinks, you'd think she'd be happy to have a group that large there spending money at her bar/ restaurant... apparently she doesn't care about the profit of the restaurant. Because of her attitude I wouldn't exactly recommend this place to anyone who likes to talk and have a good time. I'll take my hard earned money else where. On the bright-side our waiter Skyler (who seriously deserves 5 stars and a Promotion) was amazing he kept accommodating us and kept apologizing for his manager's behavior and attitude. --I mean really who seems to be the more mature person here?! Skyler for the win. If your a group of 2 or more, talk and like to order drinks and want to spend your hard earned money don't come here cause Stacy will freak out and won't know how to accommodate you. Really hoping the supervisor reads this review and tells Stacy it's time for a career change- maybe a librarian would be a better fit for her as she doesn't like "noise" or people very much. read more

Another visit another disappointment. Ordered eggs Benedict and ham was like shoe leather and muffin hard as a rock. Let the staff know and nothing was done about it. read more

Try the trout, it's excellent! The pork tacos are also exceptional. Love the atmosphere in here, and service is always great!

Bardeney is where I always take out-of-towners. It is a local place with good food and decent service. I love their happy hour satays. You can try all of them and they only cost.around $2 each at HH. I also love their trout spread and salmon salad. read more

I ordered half club sandwich with fries and a beer. The restaurant was moderately busy for a Sunday late morning. It took a significant amount of time for the order to reach the table. (20-25 min for the food, the beer came fairly quick) The toasted sandwich was dry and cold. The fries had been cooked but were also cold. I noticed they now have a hostess seat you where as before you seated yourself. The hostess put us at a table in the corner by the windows that was partially in the sun while several other tables were available. Many flys were enjoying the warmth of the sun on our assigned table. We moved to another table away from the direct sun. If anybody had said anything about us switching tables we would leave which in hindsight would have been better. I can't say I'll never go back here again but it will definitely be low on my list of places to consider. Actually it was this time but our first choice for restaurant didn't open for another hour so we came here. read more

Went here for brunch for the first time with my boyfriend this summer while visiting my family and was not disappointed. Plenty of healthy (and sinful :] ) food options, and the Ginger Rum cocktail is DELICIOUS...oh my god. And strong haha. Our server was a guy with long hair and tatted up arms- great personality, funny, and genuinely friendly. We had such a great experience that we came back later the same day with friends and drank copious amounts of mojitos. The only downside was the noise level, lots of Eagle soccer mamas getting wasted and rowdy here with their friends during Sunday brunch haha. But our group was trying to accomplish the same thing so after a couple drinks it wasn't a problem. read more

This place has the best patio in the Treasure Valley! In the many times I've eaten there the wait staff has always been prompt and friendly. Great drinks and an amazing twist on bar fair. read more

I'd go back for drinks for sure. I had one of their pasta dishes and it was fine. Nothing exciting at all. The inside decor is underwhelming and somewhat outdated. But, it was buzzing with energy, the staff was friendly, and they have a great bar. read more

Best place to eat, GREAT SERVICE! Our server was Jody and our food was taking a while to get out, but Jody kept checking in on us to see how we were doing. It was super busy, but she kept refilling our waters and reassuring us our food was coming. When the food came out, it was delicious! We got the Bruschetta (Highly recommended!!!) And also split the salmon fillet, but the caesar salad was a bit warm. However that was the only thing we found not to our liking but it still tasted good! We will definitely be in again to try some more food! read more

Love Bardenay! Their meatloaf sandy is the BEST! So great to sit out on the patio too!

If you are looking for an upbeat, high paced audience with great food and beer, go to Bardenay's. Awesome burger/sandwich selection, great appetizers and salads. Really enjoyed this place and the service was awesome. read more

I went to Bardenay on Sunday night about 90 minutes before they closed...which I was unaware of. There were many empty tables but the hostess said myself and friend could not sit there because there weren't enough employees to help us so we went to the bar. We ordered drinks and dinner which were pretty basic...hamburger and salad. We then waited more than an hour when the lights were being turned off and still had not received our order. I told the bartender to cancel our order, but he gave the orders to me in a to go bag. The two bartenders were awesome ( Austin and Yorgan) and were very apologetic saying that they were short staffed in the kitchen. I didn't eat my hamburger until late that night and it tasted amazing, but the fact that I go to a restaurant, order a hamburger and a salad and cannot eat in a restaurant is pretty damn bad business. Managers need to correct their staffing or risk losing more customers read more

This place is always busy so it can be a little hard to have a conversation from across the table at times because it can get a little loud, but the food and service are always excellent. I've never eaten a dish here that I didn't like. read more

Nice ambiance but bland and overpriced menu. There are much better choices available in the area. Good service. Fish over cooked and dry.

What more can you want - -homemade booze that is exceptional in a variety of cocktails, great food and a great view as it sits on the river. The service was very good. I'll be coming back. read more

I love the Bardenay in Eagle! fast service great food nice atmosphere-what more could you want!

Confusing and distracted. Seeming attempts to please a large demographic collapse potential identity. As if an American pub was lost at sea in the Mediterranean, with a bluff of fine dining and a captain-less crew attempting anything fusion. read more

Awesome space, sitting right on the Boise River, close to downtown Eagle. If it were warmer, we'd have definitely sat on the patio sipping drinks and ogling the river. Modern menu, in-house beer brewing, and a sort of industrial feel inside. It reminds me of The Yardhouse chain from the western states, which probably explains my lapse in judgement. I must've forgotten that I was in a landlocked state and I ordered some Ahi tuna. It arrived brown in color, clearly exposed to way too much air, and slimy in texture. Not appetizing, but I still tried a piece. It definitely wasn't edible, and if our server had ever checked on us, I would've sent it back and asked for something else. At the end of the meal, she came back and noticed that the Ahi was basically untouched and asked me if there was a problem. I told her it just wasn't fresh enough to eat, so I was surprised when she shrugged and still charged me for it. Maybe she was just lazy, as I'm hoping that Bardenay stands behind their food more than she did. I also had a cup of soup that was pretty good, not amazing, but good. My friend had a salad that she ooh'd and aah'd over, but she's pretty amazed by salads in general. I'd only come back if it were just for drinks and a view of the river. It reminds me of the restaurants on the beach, up and down the California coast that get by serving mediocre food because people will pay top dollar to see some water swish by. read more

It's a bit out of the way for me considering I live in Boise, but when it comes to Sunday brunch I'm always down for a nice drive to enjoy the atmosphere and the staff at Bardenay in Eagle. The drinks are great and the trout is always on point; anytime there is something off, Caroline has been quick to remedy it. I take friends here often and plan on continuing that! read more

One of my favorite places in Eagle. When it's not fall/winter they have outdoor seating with a beautiful view overlooking a lake with lighting that sets a romantic and eclectic ambiance. They also distilled vodka, rum, and gin. I believe they are all gluten-free as well! They also have a great gluten-free menu which is a relief for those who have allergies to it. Their food is delicious and priced fairly. I'd highly recommend the skewers for a light app and the Trout as an entree. Mmm my mouth is watering already. read more

Service here is appalling. We came to sit out on the patio to have a drink and we were told by an employee we could sit anywhere we wanted. We made our way back towards the patio filled with other people but not very busy , and found a spot to out satisfaction. A few minutes after sitting down we were yelled at by two very angry servers. The first was a short guy , running around shouting behind his shoulder "who told us we could sit there !"because he was going to go yell at him-)Um ... okay? )the second ,a tall lady , shortly afterwards stated and yelled out the same thing from a far and not actually to our faces for some reason because they didn't have enough staff to help us so I asked if we moved to another table if they would still have enough staff to help us so she scoffed and passive aggressively started to repeat herself as to why someone didn't show up : yadda yadda yadda , (like I give a shit) so we got up and moved one and a half feet to a table where a server was to help us . By the time they were done reading us the riot act they could have already taken our drink order and had it made and brought out by then-we kind of wanted to leave due to the fact we felt we were possibly being vibed out , due to the fact we sat at a table that wasn't close to other large people wearing blue and orange , or that we weren't blonde like most of the people there were- I don't know? But I wanted a drink and that's what I was there for and didn't care enough what the disgruntled staff might have thought about us so after waiting a little while we ordered two drinks - mine was the ginger rum . It it was surprisingly good but extremely sugary.Moral of the story is this: this place is a piece of shit. The end. read more

Good food. Good drinks, lots of ambience. I noticed a slew of servers and they were all busting their butts to assure promptness, satisfaction, politeness. Bardenay is how a restaurant should be run! Try them! read more

I write this with some trepidation. My wife and I eat here often. And I will do a follow up if I see things turning around. But lately the overall quality of the food served has slipped, not talking taste as that is still top notch but quality. Came in last night for dinner ordered the Spanish ribeye. The flavor was inspired the meat was the problem. I didn't bring this to the waitress's attention because my wife thinks I complain to much and I didn't want to ruin her birthday dinner. But the steak was tough and gristly. It's as if for cost cutting the quality of meat has dropped. This is the second time I've noticed it which is a shame. Hopefully I can update this with things are back to the 4+ star standard but we'll have to wait and see. read more

pretty damn decent. everyone at our table was happy. i got the grilled tuna salad, my husband had the capellini with garlic and tomato sauce and the chicken wings, and our friend had her usual: the mediterranean plate. we had an ipa on tap, and that was good too. service was just what you'd want it to be. my only quibble was that the pasta could have used more salt, but then, that's easily fixed, isn't it? better than too much salt, right? read more

Bardenay his must stop if you are looking for quality dinner in Eagle! A little loud but the ambience is good and close to the river, food is good and fair priced. I highly recommend the ginger Rum martini. Also a great stop for happy hour as well! This is a great date place if you know the person well enough that you don't kneed to hear every word they say:) (can be loud at times). It is much quieter on the patio if the weather is good. They offer a good happy hour as well. read more

Never have I been to Idaho. I had to go recently for a work trip and being the foodie I am, the first thing I do is look on Yelp, to see what restaurants are near my workplace and hotel, each time I travel for work (or travel, period)! I had this place pop up in my "restaurants near you" and when I was at St. Luke's Hospital working during my visit to Boise, this same restaurant was recommended to me. Bardenay is so amazing, it overlooks the Boise river, has a nice outdoor patio and the indoor dining area is very spacious as well. Huge bar area and open seating. They also have their own distilled gin, vodka, and rum; uhm, hello!!!! Their drinks are amazingly smooth and their happy hour menu for food AND drinks are so reasonable. Refer to my pictures for price/size of plates and portions. Everything I had from their spinach pear salad, chicken wings, and even their carrot cake were delicious. I can tell you, every time I am in the Boise/Eagle area, I am definitely stopping by Bardenay, yay! read more

The food is good. I want that first and foremost to be known. My coworker's and I order food from this establishment at least once a week. We order it to pick up and bring back to our office to eat as leaving for lunch is difficult for us to do. Every time we call in an order and pick it up we are treated as an inconvenience and dismissed. We are either placed on hold for countless minutes or when we come in we are not greeted in a positive manner, actually this is where the dismissive part comes in. We are so disappointed in this as the food is so good. I hope that at some point their service will improve. read more
